Souvlaki Restaurant and Bar in Leeds

Very disappointing after waiting a while to be served we selected Moussaka to informed none left this was 6pm. Then we both opted for lamb kleftiko to be informed only one left. I opted for lamb chops. Both meals disappointing- lamb chops very dry and hard , Garlic bread was hard over cooked more akin to a crisp bread. lamb kloftiko joint very fatty and in a watery soup. We had starters which to be fair were OK . Two drinks each, two starters , two mains, two sides £90 including 10% service charge. Not the same experience we had before lockdown. In our opinion very poor, two main items on menu not available at 6pm? poor main courses and over priced

We visited the tavernaki bistro after seeing good reviews about bottomless brunch. My boyfriend booked through their website - going into ‘bottomless brunch’ and selecting the date. We were told if we didn’t turn up it would be £40 fee. When we arrived we were told they don’t do bottomless brunch on a Saturday, only on certain days. So of course, we were disappointed. We mentioned the fact that the website has allowed us to book the bottomless brunch for a saturday and how this had happened? The waiter/server didn’t seem to understand what we were saying and just once again, a little rudely, said ‘we don’t do bottomless brunch on Saturdays’. We decided to stay for food as it was now 2pm. We ordered drinks. I was looking forward to a cocktail so chose the mojito. It was £9 so I expected something nice. When it arrived it looked like pond water. It tasted of the water that you get when your ice cubes had melted with a hint of lemon. Not a mojito by any standards. I wondered if I was being picky so asked my friends to taste too. All of them said it wasn’t very nice and did not taste of anything alcoholic. I decided to ask for another drink. I wasn’t necessarily expecting my money back however I walked over to the waiter at the bar (same man as before) and said ‘could I have a different drink please, this one doesn’t taste very nice.’ He looked confused and said what is it? I said it’s a mojito but it tastes like water with lemon. He said well I can get you another drink but you will have to pay for that one. I didn’t really know what to say to that apart from ok. I then said this tasted like it didn’t have any alcohol in it. He said it had two shots. I disagreed. I went to give it him back and he said to put it back on my table (as I was still going to pay for it) and he would get me the beer I wanted. He brought the beer over a few minutes later.I have no complaints about the food. It was lovely. Expected not great after the drink but it was very tasty. When we paid we had a different server who was more polite and helpful. The drink was still on the table and myself and my friend decided to mention it once more (we really thought £9 cocktails should be better than that!). This server said they do the cocktails like they would in Greece. I said that’s fair however this one tastes as though there’s no alcohol in it, just water (possibly tonic) and lemon. He then said that if we had had the Prosecco one we would have taken this back as that one is very strong! We laughed and said this one is the opposite! He looked at the drink as though to agree as it did not look appealing. I asked for him to try some when he had the chance and he said he would, and that he would also inform his manger. Food great. Cocktails and service - BAD. Picture of the cocktail below. Also - glass had tide marks around it - again - maybe for a cheap cocktail but for this price? No thanks!

Superb food, brilliant staff and a great vibe in the restaurant. Our booking was early Eve but by the time we left the e place was full and a great atmosphere

Me and my partner were really looking forward to dining at Tavernaki as we loved the look of the restaurant and saw some good reviews. However the whole dining experience really didn’t live up to expectation.Upon arrival we were seated in a little booth away from the other guests inside what was the kitchen/ bar & staff area (The kitchen, bar & clearing bins were literally 6ft away from our seat). The booth just seemed out of place and quite random with it being the only seat within this area of the restaurant. At first we tried to be optimistic and thought it was quite cosy with it being our own small booth away from the loud main restaurant area, however we were unfortunately wrong as the evening progressed. The area was really busy and noisy as all the staff congregated by the pass of the kitchen and the bar (which was right near our table). Paired with the noise of the clearing of plates, bottles been thrown into the bottle bin plus the loud communication amongst the staff was really off putting and unpleasant whilst trying to enjoy a nice evening.I felt really uneasy and like I couldn’t string a sentence together and enjoy a meal with my partner as there was so much going on & noise- not relaxing and enjoyable at all. I’d really recommend asking to sit in the main area of the restaurant or ask to be moved if you’re seated in the booth. I believe this area isn’t fit for paying customers. The food and cocktails were okay, however I thought it was overpriced for what we received. The halloumi was very simple- lightly grilled- no sauce or side. I had the Peppers which were okay however the rice was a little stodgy and the general taste was just bland. The cocktails were disappointing too as they came in warm glasses with no ice and again not much flavour.I feel the price wasn’t a true reflection of the food, cocktails and experience. The evening in general wasn’t enjoyable when considering everything with all the noise, seating and general service as well as the standard of the food. Therefore we won’t be returning to Tavernaki, as I left feeling frustrated, ripped off, dissatisfied and disappointed with our experience. I don’t normally like writing reviews however if we were asked on the night how everything was, whether w enjoyed our meal etc I probably would have mentioned something there and then but we weren’t. In addition as the days have passed I’ve felt more frustrated about our experience and feel like it would be beneficial for your business to leave this review.

As a Greek Cypriot, I was appalled at the so called ‘moussaka’, lacking any form of tomatoes. No flavour to the food at all, lacked the heartiness behind true Greek cuisine. Can only imagine the good reviews come from people who haven’t tried Greek food before. In desperate need of redoing, it’s not good enough.

I booked Tavernaki as a good place to catch up with my daughter and sister for lunch. It was empty on arrival of our 1pm Sunday booking. We shared starters. The haloumi, loukaniko sausage and the tzatzik. All were lovely. My only criticism would be that they are very small portions for the price. Not cheap at £8 and £6 for the tzatziki. For main we had souvlaki, 2 Chicken and 1 pork. Again they were lovely but quite dear I felt at £16 which I guess is a reflection of Leeds prices. We shared a bottle of rose, reasonably priced at £21.95 and my daughter had an Aphrodite’s kiss cocktail. This was way too strong and again somewhat overpriced at £9. We had a lovely time but the restaurant was virtually empty. I think it’s quite overpriced and would benefit from some offers or specials to get more people in. I also think the atmosphere would be better perhaps on an evening. The bill came to £111 with the service charged added which is quite dear for a lunch for 3. Leeds has so many good places but not many Greek places so if it’s your thing, then definitely give it a try.

Top notch food Sides were all tasty especially the chips . Deserts are a must , don’t leave without 1 Beer was good and the shots even better Lovely surroundings, so very Greek Very friendly and attentive staff Elliot the chef went above & beyond to make us feel very welcome

Had the pleasure to try Tavernaki's new Bottomless Dinner. Greek food is my favourite and I tried Haloumi Soulvaki dish with some Tzatziki. It was beautifully prepared with a good balance of Halloumi, salad, fried vegetables and gorgeous fries seasoned to perfection. I also tried a cocktail Aphrodite's Kiss which did not survive long as it was too yummy! However, I was not thirsty for long as I thought I will also try some prosecco and some vodka with Cranberry. Overall, I thought it was such a goood value for money as it all costs only £30. Definitely recommend and will be back for more Haloumi Souvlaki action!

Had a great time here Friday night... popped in on the off-chance they had a table for two available, and was soooo impressed with the service and the food. Our waiter, Aris, was the only one working all the tables, and he did a brilliant job throughout... I was spoilt for choice and could have easily ordered 75% of the menu if we'd had the time and money. And they have Keo beer, which kinda sealed the deal for me. Great venue. Great food.

The best meal we had in Leeds. Wonderful food, super nice place, friendly staff and the energy of the restaurant is just perfect. More than I recommend, it is mandatory to know and taste the food and wine.

We visited Tavernaki after getting married around the corner at the Civic Hall and they went out of their way to make our experience special - fancy seat covers on our table and a complimentary glass of prosecco for all our guests on arrival were very much appreciated. They even sorted out a makeshift vase of water for my wife's bouquet. Food and drink was excellent and we really enjoyed our post-wedding celebrations. Thank you so much, Kevin and Hannah :-)

Lovely restaurant with a nice atmosphere but food is poor quality and food and drinks are expensive for what is offered. Won’t be returning ever.

we took our daughter out for tea here while visiting her at university. The food service and atmosphere was superb.... but it was a tad pricey.

Dined here for the first time with friends in the evening. Excellent all round. Had Tzatziki for starter and Beef Stifado. Will come back here in the future.

Very charming and warm welcome to this small restaurant. Although a bit quiet as England were playing in the euros, our meal was delicious, efficient service and a very friendly waitress. A really enjoyable evening and a lovely first visit to Leeds.

This place has been our favourite Greek in Leeds for years but, after this visit, we're not in a rush to go back any time soon. The food was bland and unseasoned. The Greek salad looked like a salad you get out of a bag from the supermarket. It was a really disappointing experience.

Party of 6 running late (but we did ring ahead); arrived and our table not ready so we squeezed into a space for a drink to wait - a good solution. But no offere of a drink came and then then the table became free. Long wait for our drinks order and we were ready to order everything at the same time as a result. We were the last sitting so advised we could relax..... Sat on a table near the window so nice experience but music way to loud (and we like loud music). Food was ok - not as remembered so left us feeling a bit disappointed as we had 'bigged' up this restaurant to our friends who were with us. Toilets BTW have never been great .... and still not so. Our waiter was a positive guy and helpful but the overall service and food not the best; also seemed like the price of all the mains were higher than remembers £16+.

We called in without booking at 5.30pm on a busy Saturday afternoon. They found a table for us but did warn us it was booked for 7pm. The manager was lovely. He helped us choose the wine which was excellent and chatted with us about Cyprus where we used to live and he has family connections. Food was great. We chose lots of starters as we wanted a sharing mezze rather than a big meal each. Really enjoyed the atmosphere with a window seat, open windows and sunshine. Will definitely go back.

I popped into Tavernaki as it is over the road from my work where I met Yanis, he was so friendly and showed me the menu and I came back a few days later with my boyfriend for date night! Yanis was working and recognised me and was really lovely and friendly. We ordered starters mains and desserts and all were so beautifully cooked and came out very quickly! The kitchen was in view so you could see everything being made fresh which was nice. My fave part of the meal was definitely the feta sakanaki on the starters, it was honestly one of the best things I’ve tasted!! We also ordered beer and wine and the bill was extremely reasonable considering we ordered so much! The restaurant was beautifully decorated, perfect for a date location but would also be lovely for groups. I know I’m definitely going to be coming back. :-)There was also a girl doing her first shift as a waitress on our visit, I didn’t catch her name but she was lovely and very efficient! Thank you!

Had a lovely meal here with 4 other family members.Staff were very friendly and attentive. Loved the decor. The food was absolutely divine, we all enjoyed everything we had (starters: dolmadas, tirokafteri, loukaninko sausage, feta saganaki, mains: stifadox3, kleftiko, souvlaki, desserts: baklava, orange semolina cake, kostmos).Would highly recommend.

I have wanted to try it for ages and went yesterday. I would say for me while we cant get away this definitely gets you close. A big thank you to the staff from the minute we arrived we felt really welcome and relaxed just as you would in Greece. Lovely decor, and really good food the Calamari was perfectly cooked and just a light coating good sized Prawns in the Saganaki really taste Pork Souvlaki and Greek Salad and 1 of my all time fav desserts Baklava did not disappoint

We enjoyed a lovely meal here just after Lockdown lifted. Staff friendly, and eager to please. The food was authentic and delicious.

Had a really nice takeaway from here last night. Had a few meals from here during lockdown and never been disappointed. Looking forward to actually eating in the restaurant when we can.

Elegimos Tavernaki en el último minuto para la comida de cumpleaños de mi pareja, ya que viajábamos a Leeds para el fin de semana. Ambos hemos vivido en Grecia y nos encanta la cocina griega, por lo que fue una elección fácil.Honestamente puedo decir que toda la experiencia fue 10/10. La decoración es estereotípicamente griega, pero también con un toque moderno y muy limpia. La música es tradicional e hizo el ambiente.La comida en sí nos sorprendió, ¡estaba tan rica! ! ! ! ! ! ! Era griego con un ambiente a la carta, muy bien sazonado y presentado de manera hermosa. Todo estaba cocinado a la perfección.Teníamos el entrante Halloumi y el entrante Humous y los compartimos. Luego ambos tuvimos el cerdo Souvlaki como platos principales. ¡No me puedo quejar de nada! ! ! !El servicio fue excelente (soy grande en el servicio y generalmente baso mi experiencia en esto, mal jajaja) el personal fue educado y atento y se rió con nosotros. Nos hizo sentir relajados.Con respecto a las medidas de Covid, no se preocupe. Todo estaba limpio, las temperaturas tomadas en la puerta, las pruebas y el rastreo en su lugar, el personal usaba máscaras en todo momento.Recomendar a cualquiera si le gusta la comida griega :)

Se sintió vulnerable al covid debido a la falta de precauciones básicas. El personal no usa máscaras, las mesas están demasiado cerca y la música está muy alta, lo que significa que tiene que hablar en voz alta. Vergüenza como comida bastante buena. Estoy seguro de que con el aumento de casos en Leeds, el restaurante mejorará la situación.

Vine aquí en una cita y el restaurante era un entorno encantador. La decoración era muy bonita y el personal era muy servicial.Los entrantes eran encantadores y era suficiente, teníamos el tzatziki y un plato de pastelería filo feta dulce, que era divino. Los platos principales tuvimos el moussaka y el souvlaki halloumi, que estaban bien presentados y sabían muy bien. La moussaka fue la mejor que he probado en mi vida.Definitivamente vendría aquí de nuevo y se lo recomendaría a cualquiera que venga aquí. Lugar muy bonito.

Visité este restaurante por primera vez este año desde el año pasado. Servicio muy amable y eficiente. El primer plato fue increíble, seguido del plato principal. ¡El saganaki de gambas estaba delicioso! ¡Realmente decepcionado! ! Demasiado caro. La comida es mala y no tiene calidad. ¡Pagamos 23 cada uno por un plato para compartir! ¿Qué tenemos? Cerdo, Cordero y Pollo recocido sin sabor. Las gambas y los calamares comenzados están congelados. No hay distancia social entre las mesas y el baño es un desastre. ¡Nunca vuelvas!

Things didn't start too well when there seemed to be confusion about our table booking. Blank faces and a slight sense of panic about us arriving. Fortunately a table was avaliable. The fact you have to turn sideways to get past other tables tells you everything you need to know about social distancing, it was non existent. It it then took 45 minutes to be served drinks after eventually having to be asked to be served.We ordered food at the same time as drinks worried we might be waiting a similar time before service came back. Food very average. Prawn Saganaki more like a soggy soup and the Feta Saganaki just strange, the cinnamon did not go at all. The redeeming starter was the Greek sausage, however it's pretty difficult to mess up cooking a sausage. Mains were ok, lamb chops rather dry though and not in a Greek BBQ kind of way, dry as even the fat had dried up. Still tasted ok when covered in Tsatsiki.The toilet situation was a bit ridiculous. A unisex toilet one in one out. This in itself is not unheard of however having a note on the door saying lock broken, knock and wait was unforgivable. It takes 2 seconds to fit a sliding lock from B&Q, incredible. Overall was a bit of a shambles. I didn't want to pay the COMPULSARY 10% SERVICE CHARGE, however the rest of the party didn't want the awkwardness so was overruled. Sorry to say wouldn't rush back in a hurry.

Lovely restaurant. Excellent service. Three of us. All had three courses. Other than the hummus which was a little on the bland side and appeared to be covered in mushy peas the food was gorgeous. Recommended.

Members of staff are polite and friendly at all times. The food is of the highest quality and is definitely value for money. The atmosphere and ambiance is perfect for couples and families alike. I will most definitely be visiting again soon. KN

Decided to try something new for the anniversary, was not disappointed. The food was all of an extremely high quality, from starter to the dessert. The service was quick and friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Leeds City Centre.

Myself and my husband were very much looking forward to our meal at the Tavernaki. The service when we arrived was friendly and attentive. However unfortunately they are the only positives we can take from the night. We were seated for 07:30, and ordered starters and mains. We watched many tables get their food before us, however given the current circumstances we ordered another drink and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. However at 9:00pm we were brought our mains , having not been brought our starters.. and so decided to leave the restaurant. We cannot therefor comment on the food, only give a frank description of our experience at this restaurant.

We absolutely loved our food, we got the set Meze each. They asked if we wanted more of anything, and we did! The tzatziki and all the meat was super...thank you!

We ordered the platter for 2 from Deliveroo and were not disappointed! Loads of food for 2... everything so tasty, especially the lamb chops, tzatziki and potato wedges. We were incredibly happy and ate the whole thing! 😊🤤

We were married in Limossal Cyprus in 2010. For our 10th Anniversary I wanted something traditional and special and we loved the traditional Meze when we were in Cyprus, we always expected it to be difficult to find traditional Meze back in the uk, many are family recipes and local produce and therefore we have not sought one since. I decided for our anniversary it was something we should try and Wow have we been missing out by holding back. Obviously due to lockdown it’s tough to find great food to bring home but at Tavernaki they created for us a perfect traditional Greek/Cypriot Meze they talked through the food they could provide and created an absolutely amazing meal for me and my Wife. Great food and sat in the garden in the sunshine on a warm summer evening was as close to being back in Cyrus as we could get. The food was top class and so so much of it we will be having it again this evening (day after) you won’t find better quality as this is as good as anything you will get on the island itself. Thanks to the team at Tavernaki for making our special 10th Anniversary so complete with such great food and of course the traditional KEO. AMAZING and we will 100% be back again. This may even become an anniversary treat every year now it was that good.

We ordered a takeaway last night and the food was amazing! We had the £30 Meat Poikilia platter for 2 was supposed to come with pork and chicken souvlaki, lamb chops, greek sausage, potato wedges, rice, chips, greek salad pitta bread and tzatziki. When we ordered we were told they were out of chicken, (we did order pretty late so understandable) however they could instead give us extra pork, lamb chops and greek sausage which we actually preferred! The collection process was really easy and the food was well packaged with hot and cold items separated into different bags. When we got home after 15 minute drive the food was still piping and as fresh as if it had been cooked and plated there and then. When we finally unpacked all the separate items from their bags we were greeted with a greek feast. It fed 3 of us amply and the quality of the food was great. My favourites items were the greek sausage and the best tzatziki I've ever had outside of Greece! In fact if the whole feast was made up of the sausage I would have been happy! Cant wait to be able to visit here with friends after the lockdown and try one of their mezes!

we had a gift voucher from a relative for here so with us both into greek food we booked in for early doors mealOverhaul greeted well small area to eat cosy id say you can see the chefs cooking in the the seated area.we ordered starter that was nice and mains we couldnt fault infact id put it the excelent catergory .. took coffee afterwards.seems popular plenty coming in whilst we was there from 18:00 until 19:30.Just one gripe per reviews there is no mention on the vat service charge added when your presented with the bill.would we go again ? possiblly yes

We arrived and were greeted by a lovely young lad, we moved tables at the beginning as it was cold but this was no issue for them, the food was amazing, service would be 6 stars if optional, especially the younger waiter who served us tonight, thankyou for making it a great evening

We visited here for early tea before the Cinema at 4pm. They advertise an early bird but we were never given this. The food was average I have had much better Greek food and the portions were quite small. When the bill arrived we were shocked at it been £75 the menus don’t show the vat that’s all added afterwards and so is a cheeky service charge. I won’t be rushing back way too expensive in comparison to all the competition in the area and there is much better on offer.

The most amazing Greek food. We had a selection of starters and everyone was delicious. The restaurant itself is like a little taverna with great service, atmosphere and the staff are so friendly. We felt like we were on holiday and will definitely be back!

We dined here for the first time on a Saturday evening. The restaurant itself is very rustic which is fine. We were shown to our table and asked about drinks, we wanted some wine so asked for a few minutes to take a look at the wine menu. No more than 1 minute later the waitress came back asking if we were ready so asked for more time again. Eventually we ordered and the starters arrived very quickly. So quickly that our drinks hadn’t even arrived. We finished our starters and still no sign of drinks, so we asked about these when they came to clear the starter plates. Drinks received then mains arrived, we had asked for a jug of water with the wine but no sign of that so had to ask again. So within an hour we had been served starter and main. Food was nice enough, chips seemed like frozen ones with some herbs and seasoning added so not very authentic but souvlaki was tasty as were starters (hummus, vine leaves, meatballs and deep fried cheese). Baclava was nice but chocolate dessert was ok and came without ice cream so not as described. Toilets are basic and would benefit from modernisation. 10% service automatically added to bill, we asked for this to be removed as service we received was limited so left a small cash tip.

Ate here yesterday, the food was by no means terrible, but it was nothing you would ever rush back to go eat.My main issue is that not only do they automatically include a 10% service charge on the bill, but when the bill (inc charge) came to £54, I paid with 3x £20..... then the guy then doesn't bring back any change!! hahaI wouldn't mind if he was an unbelievably good waiter, but the guy also took away my drink when there was some left over in it ha.Did I complain - no....it's not a huge deal.Did I request my money back - no.....I felt like a tight git asking to have some money back after it became apparent he wasn't bringing us anything back haSo - arguably I could of done more, HOWEVER - we shouldn't be in that position in the first place, as it's just a bit of a piss take really....Wouldn't really recommend going here, there are sooooo many nice places in Leeds, so could definitely find a nicer place to eat elsewhere.

A friend and I ate at Tavernaki last night. We hadn’t booked a table and were pleased to be accommodated straight away. Lucky! We were advised that our table would be required in 1.5 hours and we were happy with that. Service was friendly and timely. A couple of items weren’t available but the waiter recommended others and they were excellent. Great tasting, fresh dolmades, halloumi and tsaztiki. Took me back to Kefalonia in an instant! Beef stifado was tasty in a beautiful gravy, the rice was moist and flavoursome. We tried a Greek white wine which was very palatable. Nice atmosphere with traditional music playing (always a winner in my books)! Despite the toilets being clean, an upgrade to decor would give customers a better perception of hygiene. We finished our last drink in the small waiting area to free the table up, but weren’t rushed away at all. A lovely meal/experience and will definitely return. Thankyou Tavernaki

Last time I ate here it was called Souvlaki. Same place, same ownership. Can't knock the food but I think it's overpriced for what is basically a greek taverna. You need to watch out as the menu prices all ex-VAT & there is a 10% service charge added.

I visited leeds with my partner, we had draught beers that were amazing. Hummous, olives chicken skewers we to die for and so much food. Amazing night

Honestly I've been to many Greek places in Leeds and I can't say this place had anything special. Food was ok, chicken was pretty bland, chips were frozen potatoes. They didn't have like 1/3 or the already VERY limited menu so paying 15 pounds for some average chicken and chips felt like a bit of a rip-off. Service was ok but be aware they add the service charge automatically whether you want it or not. Will not return

Great little restaurant with a lovely feel to it. The food was lovely and the service was great. It is a bit pricey but it’s a city centre restaurant, so that’s expected. Can highly recommend the lamb souvlaki

We visited this restaurant with friends last night and were disappointed with the food.

Nice little Greek restaurant, had mixed platter starter followed by a chicken Tigana, food was fine, but found it rather expensive for what it was.

Having read some of the reviews, I was a little apprehensive however I had no reason to be. The service was great, food was amazing (especially the sausage to start), and we had a great time. Every one of us commented on how lovely the food was. The comments regarding the toilet, I get, but it was clean which is the main thing.

This is a great restaurant and I have eaten here many times however it is massively let down by the toilets which seem to get worse on every visit!! Sort it out guys as you have a great place, fabulous food but it’s enough to put many off visiting again!!!

I called in for a takeaway, had a drink at the bar and ordered the ribs. They were first class along with roasted potatoes . Absolutely delicious. I will certainly be going back.

Worse Greek restaurant I have ever been to completely ruined my Birthday meal on a trip to Leeds. We waited over an hour for our starter and had to keep asking for mains. The Dolmades weren’t fresh, like slop and tasted horrendous. Rice with main meals was stodgy out of a microwave packet not suitable for a dog. Nothing cooked fresh in the restaurant apart from chips!

The place is conforming you the outdated stereotype of a Greek taverna but whilst being in central Leeds that’s more of a gimmick. They are trying to fit way more people than the actual capacity meaning that the waiters sometimes do not fit between tables. Food selection is basic, generic Greek which unfortunately for not live up to the expectations. It does not pay tribute to the vast and varied Greek food culture and being overpriced on top of that. Seafood/fish is clearly frozen and pittas from Morrison’s do not shout “authentic” to me. The meat was tasty but nothing more than that. The staff was pleasant but the management of the establishment is poor and out of touch. I would love to have nice memories reminiscent of my time in Greece while eating there but the place is just sad,tacky without any imagination. Save your money and your night.

Llamamos para almorzar, esperando auténtica comida griega. Estaba aburrido, el pollo estaba recocido y le faltaba sabor. Los entrantes también eran insípidos y ni siquiera se servían con nada, excepto un poco de vegetación y una llovizna de miel. El camarero también era bastante maleducado. Called in on a cold rainy Thursday night with friends...we were given a warm welcome and seated quickly. Service was excellent....we all had starters and main courses. We were all very pleased with our choices...the Dolmades were just delicious. It was a fabulous meal and great value. We will be back soon.

Had a great meal here, seated us early, and good service. Food is incredible, and good for vegetarians. Not the cheapest place but would 100% recommend, is definitely worth the price.

Wow! I read a few good reviews and so decided to try it out with my friends since we all love Greek food. We had such a lovely meal! Since there were four of us (and we couldn't decide what to pick individually), we decided to go for the meze sharer for £22.50 per person. We could then pick 5 starters to share and 5 mains - excellent value! Everything was so delicious and took us right back to Greece. The Beef Stifado was absolutely divine, the portions were good value for money and we didn't wait long for the food (nor were we rushed!). My only small gripe was that the baklava was coated in honey (it did say on the menu so not their "fault") and so was very honey sweet rather than the orange blossom syrup taste that I remember - but it was still delicious! The restaurant itself was nicely decorated with a clear Greek theme and was busy for a Thursday night. I have recommended to colleagues and will definitely be back again!

What a lovely little place. It is so nice to find somewhere that resists the temptation to decorate in contemporary or a 'design to impress' style...this place really represents greece at its best..lovely food, great ambience and memory invoking music of bygone holidays. All nine of our party thoroughly enjoyed and the menu easily lends itself to sharing. Great.

We had such a fun time here. Really recommend doing the meze sharer for £22.50 per person. We all like to eat and couldn’t finish it off. Everything was so tasty and we really couldn’t fault a thing. Will definitely be back.

We happened across this restaurant while visiting Leeds and chose it over the multitude of chains and gastropubs that surround it. It was absolutely the right choice. It is a small Greek restaurant right in the centre of Leeds. The food was delicious and considerate of different diets. The service was leisurely but not slow, and added to the relaxed atmosphere. We fully enjoyed our meal.

Came here for a graduation dinner after this restaurant has been re-branded and we weren’t disappointed! The food was absolutely excellent, as was the service - couldn’t fault!!

We came here for a family meal on a Sunday evening and it was amazing. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. And the food was lovely!

Visited on Tuesday night at 5.30pm with plan of having a nice relaxing meal before going to concert at Leeds arena. Initial impressions were good and friendly welcome from waiter, restaurant is small and was busy so glad we had booked. We got menus quickly but had to ask for the early bird menu as this was tucked away in a counter rather then being in the tables (another couple next to us then queried with us where we got that menu from)! Ordered our drinks and food at the same time to help ensure we would be out in plenty of time for concert but after nearly an hour no starters spoke to waiter who said would be 2 mins and made him aware we had to be out by 7pm. 10 minutes later nothing so had to ask again. Starter was tasty and no issues with food. Main then turned up and again no issues with the food but wasn’t worth the wait unfortunately.

Enjoyed our visit but not as good as the reviews make out. The food was nice and fairly reasonably priced. Good selection on the menu and offered meat, fish and veg options.

Tan pronto como entramos en el camarero era muy sonriente y amable, el ambiente y la música era relajante, y el olor era increíble. Teníamos el menú de madrugadores que tenía una buena relación calidad-precio para dos cursos. Los tamaños de las porciones eran buenos, pero no lo terminaron del todo, pero de buena manera. El souvlaki viene con Tsatziki, Pitta y chips que eran encantadores.

Food quality good and good sized portions. Starters can be quite filling so a bit of thought required when it comes to the choice of main meal. However my plate for the main meal was cold along with not only the bowl for the rice being cold but the rice itself. This is why I've marked it down from what I feel it should and could have been. Very cramped and quite difficult to pass through the seating area when say wanting to access the toilet, only one of those! Background music far to loud to becoming distracting. No problems with the staff, friendly enough.

Food was great. I'm a vegetarian and there were plenty of options. Service was amazing. The Only let down was the wine. For a red wine it was slightly fizzy and not that nice.

Went to Souvlaki years ago when it opened and so was enthusiastic to go back here as the food was great greek dishes.

My Sister & I having spent 10 mins at Leeds Xmas Market !! ( 9 mins to long !! ) ....discovered this Place by sheer fluke .....and having lived in Greece for 11 & a 1/2 years ......I didn’t hold out much hope .....but WOW was I wrong ......EXCELLENT FOOD .....VERY AUTHENTIC ....a little slow service but it didn’t matter as it was cooked to order ......I wish I lived closer

The restaurant is small and cosy and kitchen and chef visible from seating area. Me and my boyfriend thought the decor and style of restaurant was authentically Greek. I ordered the halloumi Slouvaki and olives and feta as a side and the portion size was very generous and good value for money. My boyfriend ordered the mussel stew and ate every last bit he thoroughly enjoyed his meal. Service was efficient and quick without being rushed. A service charge is added on the bill however I felt that it was justified. Thanks for a lovely lunch and we will be returning in the future.

We were in Leeds for a concert and needed to find somewhere to eat. We called in at Souvlaki at 6.30 on a very busy Saturday night, and the manager very kindly said that we could have a table so long as we were away by 7.30 as it was already booked. We were quite happy with that, just grateful to get in.

We ate Saturday night. It was very busy. The service was very good, the service charge is added on your bill when you pay. Great cocktails and we had meatballs and feta filo, strafardo and lamp chops. Lovely quality.

Last minute booking. Was easy to get booked in. Staff were lovely and o really like the restaurant inside. I had the shake meat platter and the prawn slavaki was yummy. Look forward to going back

I was left very disappointed with Souvlaki since me and my partner were really looking forward to visiting.

We fell upon this little Greek restaurant by accident, I was a little apprehensive at first because of the broken glass in the door but the rest of the little restaurant looked cosy. The tables were a little close together and it could do with some fabric to absorb some of the chatter from the other customers but that's just me. The atmosphere was relaxed and with Greek music playing at just a nice volume level, it allowed that nice intermit romantic feel as a romantic couple dinning experience

We had calamari and dolmades for starters followed by chicken and halloumi souvlakis for main. Food was delicious, service was great and the ambience was spot on. Well worth a visit!

Came here for a late lunch and had Chicken Souvlaki. Was the best i ever ate. so tasty and very good value. the lady who served us was so pleasant and friendly. will definately visit here again the next time we come to Leeds

Dined here with friends before a concert at the Arena. Sat in a very cold window seat which was also very narrow. I had a pork Souvlaki that was quite dry with some thin McDonalds style chips, nothing like the traditional Greek village chips. My friends all had something similar with a few bottles of beer, some retsina and coke which came to over £200 which I feel is very expensive for what I can only describe as an average meal.

We saw a board outside offering “special menu 4pm onward Sunday- Thursday “ we went in about 4.20 be asked had we booked? - no we hadn’t (the restaurant only had two tables occupied??) We were offered a table and perused the menu then asked for the “special” menu to be told they don’t do it Sundays-even though their board outside said different. Feeling very unimpressed and disappointed we left without ordering/eating

i have been with family and a friend both times the food was excellent hoy, fresh and service very good.

I was looking forward to having some greek food after our summer holiday in Crete hence why we chose this restaurant.

OK food, could cook it at home. Supermarket pitta and olives. Mousakka came cold and was heated up to warm. Nice but expensive for what it is. Automatically put a service charge on the bill which is a bit cheeky.

Relaxed, unhurried, great food. Service second to none. We’ve been here a couple of times recently and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

We noticed this little place and went in too see if there was a table free. We were lucky as people calling in afterwards had to be turned away. It was busy with people who had booked. They had a Spanish beer and bottles of Mythos in stock. We just wanted a quick meal and chose a Moussaka, a Saganaki and lovely herby chips. I then had to try the baklava with ice cream. Beautiful.
