This garden centre cafe has been transformed from its little corner spot in the garden centre, to a full-scale and very welcoming cafe. It's lovely, light and airy with outdoor seating as well as indoor. A good range of snacks, cakes and light bites, and also soups, and lunches. We often have coffee and a scone after walking on Hampsfell or at Grange-over-Sands. Very friendly and helpful staff, including a lovely lady from Bordeaux who always has a specially warm welcome. Highly recommended!

Local nursery. Nice little garden centre with good selection of plants and sundries. Lovely cafe serving excellent food by friendly ladies. Tables outside too with parasols which is nice in this warm weather. You can also choose cakes to take home which they put in a cake box for you. Highly recommended to others.

The garden centre cafe has been re invented into a bright sqeakyclean space (cheerio portacabin!) with extra outside in sunny weather. Soups, mains for lunch, 'specials', cakes and desserts on offer. Very helpful staff, prompt service and overall pleasant. We were there for birthday tea, but there can be hungry walkers and cyclists, families too. Only criticism was the overloud rather intrusive music; light classical would improve the ambiance!

Riding the Bay cycle route, a fellow cyclist recommended this cafe, which is well hidden behind the garden centre. Set in a simple cabin, the food was homemade and very reasonably priced. Orders are placed at the counter and brought to the table. A good selection of food was available and the pies and quiches we ordered were very good. Worth finding.

Another great experience. It was a late for lunch so did not expect much would be left, but we were lucky to get two lovely pieces of quiche with salad and two pots of tea. All for under £13. Great value. Staff always friendly.

Took my two grandchildren here, 18 and 17, they loved it!. Pretty basic but the food is so homely, and of great quality at a great price. Service spot on and staff very pleasant and helpful. Clean and table's cleared quickly. They loved this place, reminded them of somewhere they loved near their old school. I enjoyed it as much as them A hidden gem which is not fancy in any case at but is spot on.

Great value for money, excellent cakes and drinks. Staff always really friendly. Not the most comfortable cafe, but look beyond that and you will not be disappointed. Always very popular at lunch time.

We called into the garden centre this afternoon on a day out with my mother and uncle. We admired the plants and commented how healthy they all were. Unfortunately the guy (who I think was the owner) was very rude and clearly did not want to be bothered by any questions. When we asked him if he stocked certain plants he waved his hand in the direction of them and rolled his eyes. He certainly does not deserve any customers! I for one, would never buy another plant from their in my life!!!

Called in here today to pick up some vegetable plants, seeds and other bits and pieces. Was quite disappointed as they seemed to be short of stock which is very unusual. Staff always friendly and helpful. Will not prevent me from returning.

Called in here as we were in the area and wanted a few bits for the garden. It was very quiet and hoped we would have picked up a quick coffee but the small cafe at the front was closed. If we had more time we would have visited the excellent cafe at the rear, in the porta cabin. It is always busy but has excellent food and drinks. The nursery did have some very good quality plants.

A lovely little nursery which provides the needs of gardeners. The nursery also sells bird food and related products. They also sell various gifts and cards. They also have a small coffee shop.

Garden centre dons't stock the largest range of plants and seems to be more targeted at what the local gardeners will need around the year. If your thinking of going for coffee, I would personally try holker hall instead if it is open, or go to Cartmel. The cafes in the garden centre are ok, but suited to those who came in their gardening gear to get a few petunias!

Wanting a rest/break whilst cycling around beautiful Southern Cumbria. Going through Cark? Then stop at this Garden Centre. Walk through the shop and at the back there is an excellent Cafe serving Hot/Cold Cafe type food and fantastic Cakes (Carrot Cake, mmmmmm). Don't eat too much otherwise you will break your Bike frame!

Would definitely recommend and revisit this lovely bistro. Three of us turned up on Friday evening and the restaurant was busy and buzzing, with a great atmosphere. We hadn’t booked but they managed to accommodate us and we enjoyed a great vegetarian paella, some gorgeous rosti and dome very nice wine and low alcohol beer. There are really good GF, Vegetarian and Vegan options. The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. Our after dinner coffees were good. I only wish we’d had room for dessert, but we were full. We’ll definitely be going back!

If you're in Kendal on a snowy day, and just want a lovely mulled wine, then this isn't your place. If you want the warm taste of Middle Eastern sun, then you've hit the jackpot. Plates piled high with food so good you can't work out if it's unhealthy or not, lovely, knowledgeable staff, and a cracking sweet section, all making you forget about the baffling serving options of how many extra salads you can get with you mouth-watering quiche and calefacient hot chocolate.
