Source Grill at Glasgow Marriott Hotel in Glasgow City

Just ordered a summer salad. Was surprised at first that it was just a load of lettuce and a piece of chicken on top. I ate half of the chicken and then realised it looked pink. It was RAW in the middle. Unforgivable 🙄🙄

Spent £30 on the most pathetic steak I’ve ever had in my life, I asked for a steak with no chips and salad, got 2 big bowls of dry salad that was disgusting, on top of having to walk to the bar to get served, and then got a service charge for that to. Why did I get a service charge when your staff avoided me like I had the plague, I hope it wasn’t because I walked in wearing my gym gear? Judging a book by it’s cover it would seem. I can’t believe how bad this experience was, I paid for the meal before I had it at the bar, is this common? I just joined the gym and tbh, I regret it.

Went here last week on Tuesday with my fiancée to celebrate our engagement however we were left disappointed. When we came in the restaurant was empty only about 2 tables were busy. When we sat down I was presented the menu (gluten free one as I’ve let the restaurant know before arrival). However the gluten free options were very poor. From what I can remember there were couple salads and meat with different veg options. And that was pretty much it for the gluten free option which I found disappointing for such a restaurant. I have ordered a chicken steak with a side of root veg as that was the only thing that was gluten free and wasn’t just a salad. My fiancée ordered a steak ciabatta. The food arrived at our table after 30 minutes which I think was ridiculous as people who came a long time after us had their food before us. My chicken steak was very small and VERY dry and had barely any vegetable on the side. My fiancé’s steak ciabatta was so small and didn’t look appealing at all. The food was below average and the fact that the food took 30 minutes to make when the restaurant was empty is not acceptable. And to be charging for such a small and dry chicken steak £15 is just ridiculous. Another issue that I unfortunately had there was a another customer who sat few tables next to us. He was there on his own and had his phone on a loud volume speaking to someone on a face time for most of our time there and then he was playing loud videos on his phone and the staff never told him anything. It ruined our night as we were celebrating our engagement and it ruined the atmosphere in the restaurant. I am very disappointed with this visit and I doubt me and my fiancé will be returning anytime soon :(

Brandy was awesome !!! My food was fresh and tasty and I would defiantly bring more family and friends back !! 🙂

Three of us ate here on 25th November. The restaurant was not busy but we were put to a small table in a corner. After ordering three Ribeye steaks we waited half an hour for them to arrive. Two were fine but the third was stone cold as was the side of onion rings. We waited 20 minutes for a replacement steak by which time the other two were finnished. We asked to speak to the manager, Carley. She brought the bill and reluctantly apologised saying that she could not see how the steak could have been cold as she claimed to have seen it come off the grill. Her attitude was vey poor.

Had breakfast there only but an excellent selection with first class waitresses who were really helpful

Good service, okay food. Baked spicy cod special was well presented and tasty, but menu somewhat limited.

I had the pasta with crabmeat. It was tasty and the service was good, staff was friendly, and area was clean.

Staying at the Marriott and thought id give the place a try while here. Well what a find, I ordered the 'catch of the day' which was pan fried salmon with roasted baby potatoes, chorizo and broccoli, I thoroughly enjoyed this, would even go as far to say its one of the best things ive ever eaten. Huge compliments to the chef/team involved in preparing and cooking this. Waiting staff were all very pleasant and attentive, but not overbaring which also helped with my experience. Unfortunately i didnt take any pictures of the food due to being too impatient to tuck in. 😄

A bit tasteless food, gravy out of a packet and seems expensive when extra veg needs to be ordered. Lacks atmosphere and a bit slow for the service.

Business conference took place recently at the Marriott and the food could not be faulted. We had use of the Cast Iron Grill for lunch and there was an excellent selection of main courses, several sweet options and plenty coffee. Recommended.

Had dinner here for the first night of my stay and was pleasantly surprised. Good value meal deal. I found my chicken terrine with lemongrass starter a little bland but the fish main was tasty and correctly cooked. Worth a try if you don't have time to wonder the city looking.

As we were staying in Marriott, we were to tired to venture out in the cold. We decided to stay in. We went for the set menu deal, and the food and service was great. There was an issue with our bottle of wine, and the waitress noticed it first and promptly replaced it with a new bottle. I would recommend this place if we you dont want to venture out of the hotel and need to have a relaxing evening in.

Como todos los restaurantes del hotel, este es el frío típico. Tanto en temperatura como en ambiente. Bien, hasta ahora. Mi plato principal fue ravioles de calabaza y salvia. Sonaba bien en papel. ¿Quién hubiera esperado que este ravioli fuera asfaltado con salsa de espagueti dulce como la que sale de un frasco para satisfacer a los niños? La salsa y los raviolis estaban tan mal juntos. Los raviolis eran duros, bien cocinados o mal congelados; Realmente no podía decir que la salsa de tomate era tan abrumadora. Una buena noticia sobre esto fue que tenía espacio para el postre. Quería probar el pudín de toffee pegajoso que había escuchado. Lo tengo, se lo comió. Luego tuve que preguntar a los escoceses: ¿se supone que el pudín de toffee pegajoso tiene sabor? De Verdad. Conozco el sabor del toffee quemado, y eso fue todo. La gente que encuesté dijo "no, el pudín de toffee debe ser dulce". La mía fue quemada. Como nota, la camarera hizo todas las preguntas correctas, simplemente no escuchó las respuestas. En general, comida muy decepcionante.

Firstly I came from another hotel to check out this place,, and I wasn't disappointed. Adi the supervise and the rest of the servers couldn't have been more efficient The Wine was superb the food was to die for.. Many thanks see you soon

El servicio era normal teniendo en cuenta el restaurante estaba en el Marriott. El bistec era incluso peor que el servicio. La primera carne que recibí fue recargado, fue más en el borde de ser bien hecho tamaño raro, me mostró que el camarero que, para ser justos no ofrecen para conseguir un reemplazo. Cuando el remplazo, no sólo era el bistec tan hecha que parecía como si el bistec habían dejado en el camino de la temperatura de la habitación mucho antes de ser cocinado. Lo peor fue que hizo el camarero vimos como yo corte en él, pero luego me preguntó cómo el bistec era. Así que la pregunta es, en primer lugar, el camarero no puede ver lo mal que estaba preparado, y en segundo lugar que el chef sabe cómo cocinar carne. Parecía que la carne fue preparada por un niño y no un chef profesional.

Me alojé en el hotel una noche y comí en el hotel para ambas comidas. En la cena elegí el chuletón, que estaba cocinado a la perfección. Viene con papas fritas, pero puede agregar lado que yo no tenía y tenía mucha comida.

We stayed in the hotel so had an evening meal and two breakfasts-alll yummy!! Staff very friendly and helpful.

Como nos estábamos hospedando en el Marriott y tenía un largo día de compras, decidimos comer en el restaurante ya que era un vestido informal y el ambiente del lugar era bueno. Estaba tan contento de haberlo hecho, ya que lo que recibimos fue encantador, fresco y con una buena relación calidad-precio. Los camareros eran amables y el servicio era de 1 clase de calle. Hay un menú para niños disponible para los más pequeños y un menú de 3 platos para 25 para aquellos que lo deseen. Volveremos cuando esté en Glasgow ya que disfrutamos de todo lo que pedimos.

This was an enjoyable meal. The restaurant is inside the Marriott hotel on Argyle Street, barely 15 minutes from the city centre shops. Standard Marriott menu, service is attentive and efficient. I felt like a valued guest, and would gladly return.

Comenzamos la búsqueda de la cena cruzando la calle hacia TwoFatLadies, que tenía toneladas de buenas críticas aquí. Sin embargo, estaba completamente lleno por la noche, así que volvimos al hotel. Tuvimos suerte, este lugar normalmente no abre los domingos por la noche, pero el grupo de turistas canceló los últimos minutos y ofrecían un menú fijo, con opciones limitadas. Me quedé sorprendido con la calidad de la comida, buen sabor, bien distribuido y rápido. Tuve la merluza, que era muy buena, mucho mejor que el almuerzo de pescado y patatas fritas que tuve. El ganador de la velada fue el postre, Eton Mess, lo suficiente para que lo saboreara. ¡Probablemente podría haber comido más!

We were here on a tour with CIE. To be honest I don't remember the Dinner or Breakfast the next morning.

We loved eating at the source grill the menu is extensive with plenty of well cooked meals and tempting deserts

Inicialmente nuestra visita a este restaurante podría haber ido mal debido a el saludo inicial del miembro del personal en la recepción restaurante - no es muy amable. Ella finalmente nos llevó a una mesa y tomó nuestra orden de bebidas, pero se olvidó de ordenar! Finalmente un hermoso joven local tardó más de y todas se salvó por su excelente servicio! Ella se disculpó y fue muy atento después del tratamiento inicial, el especial fue limanda - absolutamente genial, tan sabroso, cocinado y presentado a la perfección!

The staff were very good as was the food, it was reasonable priced compared to other hotels in the area.

Nos hemos alojado en el hotel durante más de un año y esta es la primera vez que hemos comido cena en la parrilla. Normalmente comemos en el pub o simplemente no servicio de habitación. El restaurante es bueno, sólido y honesto. Disfrutamos nuestros bistecs, hemos tenido mucho peor en lugares mucho swankier. Vale la pena un viaje de regreso.

El personal era muy educado. El desayuno era bueno, pero las opciones no cambia en la 4 VECES TUVE comidas allí. La pena es que sirven notando los alimentos tradicionales como el haggis y morcilla. Ambiente agradable. Techo superior absorbe luz natural. Desayuno como restaurantes. A veces había música. La cena también era buena, me gustó el pollo asado con verduras. A menudo Alisha terminaron como nuestro servidor, ella era atento, además de ser bastante.

ate here fri the 21/10/2016 I had the ham and pea starter wife h rushing the food and tbh ad mushrooms on toast,,, main courses I had lamb wife had fish and chips.both courses were fine.... but to be honest and say,,,time we arrived we were tired and were just needing to chill relasx and get to bed,,,so although we ate here,,, it was fine,,,, but I will say that would prob try again as we were just rushing the food...so be a bit unfair to say that it wasn't good,,,,just we were not ready for a restaurant meal..once again staff very nice and cheerful

We stopped just for dessert and The dessert and service was less than great so because of this we have not visited for dinner

1st time walked out on an afternoon tea. Was given this as a gift for my 60th birthday as friends know me and hubby love afternoon's of surprises. This one had none. When I phoned and booked said hubby didn't like the texture of fish or eggs so could we have one setting free of those. When we arrived today was asked same thing gave same answer then waitress came to table as said chef thought he was allergic so he had special made up here is what we were served. 3 finger sandwiches each, mine salmon, cheap ham and 2 slice tomato, cheese savory, hubby 2 chicken & tomato, same ham as me, for a 4* hotel I expected a lot more. As you can see from pics my salmon was all black didn't eat it. So I had 2 finger sandwiches. Cakes were even worse, hubby got 3 supposed to be millionaire shortcake, base was inedible, cream fool with berries, 2 biscuits, large dish of jam, 10 strawberries cut up, I had 2 scones, 1 lemon blamange , 2 pieces fruit cake, large pot of jam, squirty cream not clotted, 2 plain biscuits and a custard cream biscuit, mini donut with meringue. Only good thing was butter on the bread. All of this was served on 4 long plates no tiers. Will never return.

I was quite surprised how good our dinner was at the hotel. I had hake. Had never tried it. The fish was delicious. The waitress had told me yo go for it. Our night here was lovely.

If you arrive at the hotel exhausted, but hungry, rest assured that a meal at Source Grill is a great option. The staff friendly, the choices varied, interesting and well prepared.

This is actually a decent hotel restaurant that serves tasty food. Staff was friendly during our visit and service was acceptable for a hotel restaurant. Rather pricey (typical for hotel restaurants) so you can do better if you decide to take a short walk to town centre. Closes early. Poor decor.

I was with a tour group so choices were limited. I had the fish and it was tasteless. Kind of mushy.

Inside the Marriott the restaurant is far better than eating at the bar. It has a menu with a range of items and does a 2 or 3 course special offer - ideal for company expenses budgets. Lots of local food with good tastes and well presented

Stayed for three nights at the Glasgow Marriott.Staff were all very friendly and attentive. Nothing was to much trouble for them.Room was clean and warm and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, loads to choose from. Glasgow had lots of places to go to.

Had a lovely stay in the Marriott Glasgow. Stayed over night to visit a concert. Pre theatre dinner no problem, taxi on call. Excellent service, helpful staff, worked hard to make our stay very enjoyable.Dinner and wine, top class, breakfast too. Thank you all for a lovely week end.

So I'm staying at the Marriott for business so natural thing to do is eat at the hotels restaurant! Now I've stayed and eaten at this restaurant a few times and the food has been ok ( I haven't said amazing or good)But this time ...OMG ! Terrible!Starter .. Fab ( but it was a soup) pretty good though! Sweet potato ..But the main! Well .. " grilled chicken penne Arrabiata" well I'm no budding chef but this was awful...& I make a better Arrabiata at home ! The chicken was good but everything else ..don't bother..Now the staff here are good so I don't want to take anything away from there great work but really pasta and chicken ... It's not hard to get right is it? The word "Arrabiata " I'm sure means spicy and tasty ... But sent out was bland and out o a tin tasting.. Not Marriott standards ??When I sent it back they just said O! What is that in layman do terms...I don't ever want something for nothing so paid the bill and left ...Hoping they pick up there game again ...

Terrible terrible terrible. Patatas bravas turned out to be boiled new potatoes with chili sauce. A haggis and black pudding burger sounded nice but it was so burnt you could sole your shoe with it. Avoid at all cost. And below average service too. Our waitress took away three plates of hardly eaten food and didn't think to ask if there was a problem.

I was staying at the Marriott last night and decided to have a quick dinner in the Source Grill. Both the “a la carte” and the daily “Market menu” contain a good selection of dishes at pretty reasonable prices. I decided to start with “Daily Kitchen Soup” which turned out to be green pea (5.50). Good flavor and portion size. As it’s the Rugby World Cup, the restaurant was offering a burger challenge – two speciality burgers which will change each week throughout the tournament. I decided to go for the Australian Burger (12.00) – a beef burger topped with bacon, cheese, grilled pineapple, tomato, lettuce beetroot and a fried egg, accompanied by some french fries. The burger was delicious and well cooked.With a bottle of sparking water, the food bill came to 19.25 – good value. Perhaps the only downside was this morning when I came to pay my hotel bill to see a 2.41 service charge had been added. The service had been friendly and efficient so I had actually left a 5.00 tip in the restaurant, so a little disappointing to see this additional charge. I am sure it must have mentioned on the menu somewhere, but I had missed it

Breakfasts offered in a buffet-style setup, with a wide variety of foods including bacon, eggs, cereals and fruit.The standard dinner menu at the Source grill is fairly limited. However, the items offered as part of the market menu are usually creative and delicious. While there, I enjoyed the smoked Salmon - well presented and tasted great. Service is good.

best cuppa tea outside my house . best value for money was the buffet Breakfast , you could eat as much as you like . we never had evening meal but may do so on a future visit

Hot fresh food, a lovely greeting on arrival for breakfast. Large choice of full breakfasts or lighter meals.

We had the special valentines menu and were not disappointed. The food was great. The service staff were amazing. Very attentive without crowding. The speed of service was spot on. The portion sizes were ample. Couldn't fault it at all.

I was staying at the Marriott so tried this restaurant for convenience.The menu was mostly the usual fayre but with a nice Scottish twist and some unusual dishes. I had a barley salad which was a lovely change. The service was quick but well paced. The bread and oil, and dinky chocolate dips with the bill added to a Lovely meal.

Perfectly reasonable fare from this hotel restaurant. Often this is not the case but the Marriott has a wide range of dishes to suit all manner of tastes and budgets.

Food excellent, from bar meals to Source grill. No need to go into town to eat if you are just staying one night.

Had lunch here when running a course in the hotel. Good selection of mains and desserts, well presented and tasty. Good portion sizes. Fast, efficient service.

Ate at Source Grill twice, each time we had staeks cooked prefectly to order. Good service from the waiting staff, and an easy choice if you dont want to venture out into Glasgow.

Had a lovely meal here as part of Scottish Athletics Awards evening. Service was slick despite the large number of guests. Food was excellent but perhaps portion control could have been a bit more generous.m Staff were both friendly and attentive.A good venue for large corporate type functions.

I have stayed in this hotel on a few occasions over the last few years, I have to say the staff are the best I have had in any hotel. They remember you and welcome you back, they take time to talk to you about your break and your plans for the weekend. The rooms are always clean and beds are so comfy. The breakfast buffet has a great choice from cold meat and cheese to full Scottish breakfast or porridge. We had a Marriott club sandwich in the bar, it was filling and very tasty. One of our nights we decided to try the pre theatre meal in the restaurant, the gentleman on the desk that shows you to your table was very friendly and helpful, the waiter that was assigned to our table discussed the menu options with us. When the meal arrived it was lovely, I had a steak which was cooked to perfection, the best I have had in a long time, the only thing that I don't agree with and it is not only this restaurant that does this is you have to pay extra for onion rings and a sauce, I think this should be included in the price...The pana cota with raspberries, small doughnuts and raspberry sauce were to die for. I will be back again hopefully.

The Source Grill at the Marriott is a bright, well appointed restaurant where the choice and standard of food is good. The staff, in general, are very pleasant and happy to assist in any way they can. The restaurant is a good 5 - 10 minute walk from the City centre along Argyll Street but worth the walk!

Food was fine -- but not local and certainly not authentic Scottish fare. The staff were good and friendly -- however they were reluctant to intervene with some very noisy children and a profoundly retarded young boy which created difficultlies for all guests.

Very delicious sandwiches and pastries + scones served by Anna and Andrew. What a lovely place. Used on 1 April 2013 as the staff only have 5 serving dishes and can only have about 6 or 7 bookings per day. We enjoyed about 3 hours at the leisure centre first (a gift from a friend) and certainly worked up an appetite. Would definitely return here again. I certainly enjoyed the sparkly wine after my tea, sandwiches scones and pastries. My husband however opted for a nice bottle of budweisser! Very nice indeed and very quiet on Easter Monday! I cannot believe the poor experience I have just had in this restaurant! When asked about the dishes on the menu, the waitress knew nothing.Since she was foreign, and not wishing to harass her we asked only to specify certain Dish of the day and 'special dish' on the menu,neither of which she knew because 'the cook had just come on shift!' and had not decided yet.When we eventually got said meals the steak was cold and oozing blood!The mushrooms were from a tin and the fries were dry.The fish was tastless and dry. The worst meal experience ever!To add to the misery of the dreadful meal it cost £4.00 for us to park one car in the hotel car park!

Attentive staff, good quality food and reasonably priced. Could do with a little variation on the menu however it wasn't very varied but all good quality stuff.

This was my first visit to Glasgow, And had the good fortune to book in at the Marriott for the weekend and cannot speak highly enough of the staff, who were the most freindly people I have met in a long time. Over the course of the weekend I dined in some lovely restraunts, but the most memorable meal was in the hotels restraunt, the quality of the food was superb, would definately go back again

The menu needs updating for lunch, and dinner. It is pretty boring and needs to be revamped. There was not enough fresh variety to make us want to wade through the crowded lobby to get to the grill.

Yes expensive but highly recommended at night for food done to perfection as travelling solo was nice to eat in hotel at night. Thank you to the great staff.

As a frequent traveller I am used to paying more for hotel food but even so this one hurt. Food itself was good (but not great), service likewise.Nothing bad to write about the Marriot food but just that you can get better for less if you walk 10 minutes into town.

The hospitality of the staff is most impressive as is the food. The breakfast buffet was complete and you could still order an omelet if you wanted it. Service was great!

Staff managed to rescue evening after one meal was inedible. Flatiron steak had to be sent back as it tasted absolutely awful. Replacement meal was brought, and not fully charged. Staff were entirely helpful and professional - well done!

Great food, great service just no ambience......well looked after by all the staff who were very attentive and friendly. Food was excellent as was the recommendation for wine.
