Cafeteria para disfrutar un brunch de fin de semana, desayunos abundantes, la mesas están un poco juntas para mi gusto. Música agradable, y servicio profesional. Hay que pagar en la barra, una vez hayas terminado.

Went in today and was seated and served by a friendly member of staff. She went out of her way to find out what vegan substitutes were available for myself, and it's because of her that we're rating 3 stars.Unfortunately when the food came out it wasn't the best. I ordered a ciabatta with tomato and portobello mushroom, (usually on a bagel but bagels weren't vegan.) What I got was a bare ciabatta, with half a medium grilled tomato and a slice of portobello mushroom on the side. Unasembelled.I didn't think the bagels would come out unassembled, and my husband and I chose to laugh about it and eat up quickly and leave. My husband ordered spicy mexican beans on toast with feta. The beans were overly sweet and not spicy.Price for 2 dishes, 1 small juice, and 1 large juice was 14.50 - which I think based on what we recieved was slightly overpriced.I'd read some great reviews about this place, but unfortunately it didnt do much for us!

We came in for a light lunch and I had 'soup and a sandwich' The soup was watery and the bacon & brie sandwich was mediocre (cold bacon and cold cheese). It would have benefited from freshly cooked bacon which would have melted the cheese a bit. I have eaten at soul food before (in the old place) and it was much better.

I’m not a complainer. I don’t usually complain or decide to writte a review unless there is something very wrong...but i feel unfortunately that i need to share my experience...jumped into this little spot with a friend of mine as passed by and we thought it looked nice. We decided what to order, ordered, got served, busual stuff. We were seated at the bar table. I decided at some point to jump to toilett but wasn’t able to use one as the stairs was closed..returning to my place, my friend and started to chat again until he pointed at my head saying: u have something in ur hair! I checked and to my shock found few little white maggots/worms! Couldn’t believe my eyes! Also found them on my clothes! Immediately checked the food and must clarify nothing was in there and it was fresh, so it mush have come somewhere from the ceiling or i dunno. As u can imagine we left in shock, as busy we didn’t want to cause trouble but was determined to come back for explanation two days ago at 2pm which we would have tried to get, has the caffe not being closed...utter shock and disgusted! Graffiti's for many years was "my kinna place" but now that it no longer is, I decided s sit down at Soul was long overdue. There were three tables squeezed together outside. I got the middle table as naturally who wants to be stuck in the middle. Anyway it was nice to be outside in the sunshine cosying up with the upwardly mobile of South Belfast. After a few minutes I felt it best go and get a menu and make my presence outside known. Back to the table... No one came. I'm mad for a coffee. A young pony tailed man was at the cash register,he asked me to wait. No problem! Then he appeared to take my order. I return outside. 5 minutes later he appears to take my order again as he admits he wasn't listening when he took it earlier!!! Amusing? Bizarre? 20 minutes later the coffee and poached eggs with toast arrived no apology. I laughed it was white bread perhaps there are no choice of breads he never asked Perfect coffee, perfect toast and eggs -no complaint. The food the couple on the next table looked delicious too. I went to pay it was £7.55. I said thank you. He must not have been listening again as he did not.

First visit today at lunchtime. Ordered food & watched as 3 tables who arrived after we ordered were served - reminded waitress on two occasions that we were waiting - as it turned out for at least 30-35 mins. This is unacceptable for a quick lunch and needing to go back to work. The Spanish Omelette my friend ordered was tasty and worth the price of £7;50. Unfortunately the vegetarian platter - also priced at £7:50 consisted of a few slices of apple, avocado, a crusty humus that was very bland and 2 small slices of cheese, chutney & dry cold flatbread. Around £5.95 would be the maximum I'd expect for this lunchtime snack. Finished off with a pot of tea - one teabag - each at £2:30. Pricey for location and lack of apology for delay in bring the food. Unlikely to visit again.

Soul Food is well located, very pleasant atmosphere, great menu and all you could want in a drop in cafe with that little bit extra. I was there with a group of six mid afternoon for coffee, scones and sandwiches. We had an enjoyable time with prompt and friendly service from a young waiter and(at first) the owner. As a vegetarian I was very impressed by the options available and absolutely loved the pesto in my bagel to the point where I mentioned it to the owner. The whole experience was, however, spoiled when we came to pay the bill when the owner insisted the till showed we owed for an additional amount (which we didn't on checking our bill) and argued the point in a rather abrasive manner. Maybe she was having an off day but just to point out the way you treat your customers definitely colours their experience and recommendations.

Great service and lovely food but then we paid for our food individually as described on the bill. However the person who had taken our money told us there is still an Americano coffee and a scone to pay for!!!!! We advised that we had all paid for what we had received and for all that was shown on our bill but she told us that the till said there was still a coffee and scone to be paid for, following several minutes of discussion, we said we didn't like the implications of what she was saying and she answered "we'll leave it as it is". We were not the only customers in the cafe, our suspicion is that an error had been made on a earlier bill however the damage has been done and we will not be back.

This used to be my all-time favourite cafe in Belfast until the new management took over. New waitresses arrived and they seemed to have hired some people with no customer relations skills whatsoever. It was Valentine's Day and all we wanted was a nice breakfast. Instead we got treated very boldly by a waitress who didn't even smile or say hello, and also left us waiting ages for a menu in spite of the place being fairly empty when we arrived. When the pancakes came, after eating half of one and not liking it at all, I flipped it over and it was black and burnt! I had already eaten one out of the two pieces of bacon on the plate. I called her and she agreed to bring a new one but, again, not even a smile. The second batch of pancakes was OK but there was only one piece of bacon on the plate. I know I had already eaten one but, as a courtesy, most places would serve you a full new breakfast. It is not the first time I have come back after the new management arrived and this same girl has had an attitude before and has made impolite remarks, no thank yous, not even a quick smile! It's as if she hates working there which, in turn, clouds the experience of us customers. Also, the former owner used to be around quite a bit talking to her customers and asking if everything was OK, which hasn't been the case when I have been there the last few times. Unfortunately, I can see I'm not the only one as there are people commenting on this same issue! By the way, the male waiter that was there on that day was polite but unfortunately all he did was take our order. Hard and sad to write a review of what once used to be a great place.

It moved to an upstairs venue that really lost the vibe, but fortunately they have returned to the old place (for quite a while now). The atmosphere is very relaxed and unpretentious, a welcome change to the fashionishta hip-conscious places with exorbitant prices that are springing up everywhere. The food is wholesome, well cooked and presented, and the staff are always chilled out and friendly.A soup and a coffee comes out at only £6 so if you want quality cheap eats, this is definitely the place!! Although I've only visited this cafe twice I would definitely recommend it for a lunchtime sandwich or soup. Sandwiches have decent amount of filling and reasonable to. Try the chicken and bacon sandwich on chiabatta it's delicious and the soup is chunky. A must.

The poached eggs on homemade smokey beans is the best breakfast dish on the Ormeau Rd. Great choices of healthy and alternative breakfast and brunch options as well as a good proper fry with, I suspect plenty of high quality local produce in it. It's the type of clean fry that doesn't reek with oil. Just wish Soul Food was open on Sunday's too.

Always guaranteed a beautiful lunch here! Everything is so fresh and ingredients of great quality - the bread they use is especially lovely. I've had fish risotto here too and would definitely recommend. Tasty food and friendly staff!

We ate here one weekday lunchtime. They don't take bookings and as it is small you need to take your chances. It was very busy when we were in although they had kept us a table despite not being able to guarantee it. The food was very tasty. It was a wet day and were were just inside the door. It is warm but not a lot of space around the tables. Service friendly.

The staff here are friendly and the interior is cute and welcoming. We came for brunch, I had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup which were lovely (the pancakes were so soft!!) and my friend had the vegetarian bagel which he thoroughly enjoyed. It was a tad on the expensive side but we left full and happy so we didn't mind, this cafe is perfect for a nice spot of brunch!

I can't say enough good things about everything on the menu in here - from the fabulous fresh juices, yummy scones through to the savoury delights on the menu. I haven't tried their evening bistro yet, but this is my favourite spot for breakfast & lunch on the Ormeau road. The staff are friendly & attentive, and the seating design makes the most of the space. It's light and airy, and creates the perfect place to relax and enjoy a snack or meal with friends.

We had to wait a few minutes to get a table here for lunch yesterday but it was well worth it. I had the best tortilla outside of Spain ever! It was just the right consistency, a little with runny inside, perfect! And the flavour... Delicioso!! I will be back for more. My husband had the prawn risotto which was equally delicious with a good vermouth flavour from the rice. For dessert we shared a piece of lemon polenta cake, so nice to have a wheat free option, and it was lovely and moist. Coffee excellent too. Can't wait to treat myself here again. Thank you!

Soul Food's produce is fresh and excellent quality - everything from the fish and meat to the bread they use for their sandwiches! I've been a number of times for breakfast and lunch and never been disappointed! I highly recommend the prawn risotto on the lunch menu or one of the sandwiches with the Ballymaloe relish. Staff are friendly too.

Arrived at about 2.30 for lunch and was under a bit of time pressure to get to the airport. Asked was it possible to be served. The lady was very accommodating and took our order very quickly. Drinks were brought soon after. The food was excellent. There were 5 of us in all. We were served soup and a sandwich, the goats cheese dish, linguine dish, chicken BLT sandwich and a ham sandwich on granary. We all enjoyed our visit and would like to thank the staff for the excellent food and friendly service.

Popped in here on Monday for an impromptu lunch. The staff quickly sorted a table for the five of us and in no time at all we were enjoying fresh, homemade soup and very tasty sandwiches. One of our party enjoyed the Spanish Omelette and the two children had a kids size portion of the pasta.Lovely, friendly cafe, perfect for a quick lunch or a leisurely coffee. Not a fantastic section for kids on the menu but I am sure they would quickly make you up a sandwich to suit the pickiest of eaters!

Been here for breakfast a few time. The food is fresh, not cheap but service is good. It is not very comfortable, the lay out means you are either sitting on top of someone else off you are right beside the door or till. I have obviously been here on more than one occasion so it hasn't put me off.

Oh what to do when you've got a day all on your own and all to yourself? Arrange a lazy, self indulgent, cafe surfing, kindle reading, treat day - that's what! Hence I ended up in Soul Food Cafe. It's extra busy, extra noisy and filled with all sorts of people and chattering kids. Cosy, warm, welcoming with table service and free wifi. Soul Food Cafe is homely and lovely with quaint art hanging on the walls. On my visit today I had broccoli soup and a ciabatta roll filled with hummus, onion marmalade, roast peppers and salad leaves. It was heavenly, proper warming comfort food on a miserable, rainy November day. The Americano coffee is pretty good and there are quite a few vegetarian options on the menu too.I noticed they had a chalkboard sign up declaring their first floor BYO bistro is open Fridays and Saturdays and you can phone 028 9064 6464 to book. I'm returning - and very, very soon. Soul food indeed.

Soul Food serve really good fresh food and have a wide choice of dishes. The staff are buoyant and engaging and obviously believe in the menu. However, the ambiance, chairs, tables and overall decor are cold and have a utility feel - not in a good way.

Visited here a few days ago. Initially we were going to Petit Cafe across the road until we had a look at the prices on the menu in the window which were in a word, hysterical. We went into the Soul Food Cafe and were greeted by a very friendly waitress who seated us and took our drinks order. We were just after some poached eggs, which were served with sourdough toast. My companion made a late addition to her order by requesting some bacon, which was the only thing I could criticise, as it was quite greasy, however everything else was perfect.Thr prices were more than reasonable, the staff were extremely pleasant and friendly, and the cafe had a good buzz about it. It was very busy, in sharp contrast to Petit Cafe across the road with their hotel prices which was empty. Also the toilets were probably the cleanest toilets I have ever seen when eating out anywhere in Belfast. All in all I can't recommend the Soul Food Cafe enough.

As a (fairly) regular user of Sole Food Cafe since it first opened I was a bit concerned when I first learned that they were moving to a premises further up the Ormeau Road, and upstairs! But I need not have worried. - not only did they survive the move but seem to be thriving, if the times I have been there recently are anything to judge by. As a local I have always used it to treat visitors who are staying with me, but to be honest I am really treating myself. I generally go for lunch although a lot of customers just call in for a coffee and a scone.I invariably opt for one of their daily specials and have never been disappointed. All the food, to my knowledge, is cooked on the premises from wholesome fresh ingredients and is effectively home cooking, without the bother!I have always considered their prices extremely good value for money. The staff are cheerful and helpful and, so it would seem, are most of the customers.

I met friends for a scone and tea/coffee. I opted for a fruit scone (only plain or fruit available) which was much too sweet and could have done with longer in the oven as it was heavy and sticky. Will not rush back.

If you were to dander into Soul Food and order one of their Vegetarian Bagels, you'll not be disappointed.
