Ordered for collection around 7 however had to wait till 740 for food to be ready bearing in mind I rang at 6. Food was tasty and portions average sized slightly smaller than usual I would say. All in all I would say 3 stars is fair

We booked at short notice and the restaurant was really helpful fitting us in, seating us in the conservatory. Tables were nicely spaced and all the staff were really considerate and covid-safe - masked up throughout. The food was lovely - veggie samosas, onion bhaji and paneer pakora to start, veg biryani, paneer korma (not on the menu but cooked when we asked), veg tikka and tarka dhal. All really fresh, tasty - good fresh herbs, lovely whole spices. Definitely worth a visit.

We live local to Menai Bridge and have tried all the Indians in the area. Having not heard great things about Sopna we've avoided it to be honest. After reading a couple of decent reviews recently we thought why not give it whirl. Sorry to say but we won't be returning. The curry (dansak) to be fair was ok but everything else was very bland. The rice had no flavour of pilau in it, the mixed meat starter and Naan were poor and the chips were soggy. Not that I want to tarnish a local company as we always support them, sorry to say Sopna isn't one I would recommend.It's a shame Menai Bridge doesn't have a good Indian, in my opinion they're all very average. You need to go further afield (Bangor or Caernarfon) to get a good one.

As a local to the Menai Area we have sampled most of the Indian takeaways around us. Having been recently disappointed by a number of them we have tonight gone back to Sopna. The food was really excellent. We had popadums to start. Mixed grill and pathia which were as they should be. Highly recommended- we will be visiting again.

We had an excellent meal at Sopna. The curries were freshly cooked and very tasty with the side dishes equally good. The nan breads and papadoms were first class and their pickle tray was much better than the average especially the lime pickle which didn’t have the usual large chunks of unpalatable lime. The staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. The Sopna is well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Ordered a chicken madras and chicken chillie massala. Both dishes really oily, no flavour or taste just lots of heat, very dissapointed.

This place was recommended to us by the guest house we were staying in (Maen Hir) which they managed to book us in as they’re friends with the owner, we read the reviews before coming and we’re surprised by how the review can go from excellent to bad. But safe to say our meal was excellent and we enjoyed our experience, and the staff were attentive, friendly and polite, as always COVID has changed so much and I think people seem to forget that bars and restaurants have to cope with this as well as the public.

Really enjoyed the food here. Would highly recommend. The staff were really friendly couldn’t do enough for you. The food was really nice. If I stayed in Anglesey again it would be one of the first places I’d visit again.

Really enjoyable visit have so missed this restaurant. Our meal was delicious service impeccable. We visit a lot of Indian restaurants all over the UK and this is unbeatable, we are so lucky to live within 15 minutes of here. Thank you for a lovely meal we will see you soon

Me and my wife went to the Sopna Tandoori and It was absolutely terrible the pops don sauces were off and absolutely uneatable. Me and the wife nearly through up. We didn’t bother ordering a main meal as when we complained the manager said if you don’t like the starter you won’t like the mains. Also the girl who came to serve us couldn’t speak English and we had to show her off the menu what we wanted. Overall a disaster of a night. We will ever go again!!

In essence, there are three leading factors:1) Excessive use of red food colouring2) Lack of traditional Indian flavourings and spices3) Textures are all soggy (for items which should be crunchy)An excerpt of a displeased customer: “This is not Indian food. Why is everything red? You have no idea about the taste of Tarka Daal, Bhindi Bhaaji, Butter Chicken, Paneer and Chicken Pakora (which is all red, soggy and awful). You MUST learn how to make Tandoori Roti. It is a shame that you are selling the above under the banner of “Indian” food.”

My husband has just pulled up outside to grab a takeaway for tea. The man at the door was bloody RUDE!! We’ve been coming here for years on our holidays and no way have we ever been so disappointed. After getting a mouthful rudely spoken to all we asked for is the latest menu and roughly how long was the wait. Was rudely spoken to told an hours wait, only three people sat in restaurant! Stuff your menu up your arse sunshine! We shall find somewhere else to go!

We have been coming to this restaurant for the last 4 years over the summer period, I can honestly say I am utterly surprised by previous bad reviews, the owner and his employees go the extra mile to make sure everything runs and tastes fantastic, also the prices are competitive they offer a takeaway menu and also an a la carte menu, we will be back next Friday.

I have been to this restaurant quite a few times and have always been pleased with the food. This time we were given a menu from which we ordered the Sopna set meal for two @ £29.95. You very quickly said that was the takeaway price and that it would be more but you never said how much. I was expecting 10% more which is the normal difference. I was therefore shocked to find that you charge 50% more than the figure on the menu provided i.e £44.95. I also took into account the fact that VAT had been reduced to 5% for eating in and not on takeaways. The price on the website is £29.95 without the 15% VAT reduction. I consider this very sharp practice especially with regular customers. I gave him the opportunity to explain before I report this to the local trading standards. The food was good but I am still waiting for their comments re this outrageous behaviour. I will not be eating there again and I will be telling others to do the same.

Been going to Sopna for years & had first post lockdown food out tonight. Sid and his team never disappoint! Fantastic food, warm welcome and excellent service - can not praise Sopna enough.Glad to have you back open - Covid arrangements were spot on too, felt very safe and secure. Staff are friendly. Phoned order through. Tip - phone as soon as they open as it can get busy particularly on the summer. Delicious food. Good portion sizes and well packaged. Will be back. Good rices too.

Rubbish service and rubbish food. I know there isn't much competition in Anglesey but some of the reviews of this place would suggest diners have never actually eaten in a proper Indian continent restaurant?If you have, you'll know it's utter garbage.20 minutes late too. I think if you're a new customer instead of taking the risk of cooking food which may not be collected (maybe that happens round here), do they wait for you to arrive at your allocated collection time before they start cooking? Or maybe they just prioritise known customers ahead of other orders? Pretty snide either way when loads of other people come and go collecting theirs while we wait in their car park (shared with a rather fetching caravan sales outlet).Specifically said they'd give us some cutlery - did they? What do you think?They actually had a few sprouts in the biryani sauce?? Sugar in the tandoori sauce?Was the lamb actually mooing before slaughter?Ever heard of salt? (It's a much better ingredient than red colouring)Not sure it's possible to cook a man bread in the tandoor to be completely dry and cold? Weird.I don't think I've ever had such a bad curry. Actually inedible. But then they could probably get away with cooking up some dog turd and get away with it round here.Avoid.

Visited here on a Saturday night last month at about 8pm only to be told that they had run out of poppadoms? We were offered a poor substitute of spiced poppadoms which were obviously bought in and tasted what I would imagine cardboard to taste of.My prawn pathia was also inedible as the prawns were swimming in ghee. Will not be visiting again a all four of us were disappointed.

Myself and my wife visited sopna at four crosses this evening we've been going to the restaurant for a while now and every time the food is lovely staff are excellent welcoming to you as you walk in side the manager is excellent.

Nice mixed kebab to start and then byriani which was a little dry and not greatly spiced, it was ok, nothing special. I can see what other reviews mean about staff not knowing about the menu, we asked how spicy one dish was and were told that they didnt know as they had not had that dish themselves before. They did go and check though and we were told 'quite spicy' wasn't sure what that meant really. Pleasant house red wine, not quite so with the house white. A bit out of town, we wouldnt make the effort again if we were in the area

Lovely works meal out, including a birthday celebration for our Co worker Lucy’s 50th :) The food was absolutely amazing (best korma I’ve ever had) and the staff were lovely and helpful. Will definitely recommend and will be coming back!

In my search for a good Indian on Anglesey I saw this was the top rated in Menai Bridge and ordered a takeaway on a whim.

Excellent sit down curry. Curries fresh and flavoursome and full of meat. Naan breads probably the best I’ve tried. Bangor Tandoori has some SERIOUS competition!! Will be back Sopna!

Popped in for a take away meal, ordered the chicken dopiaza. Had this many times in various Indian restaurants, but this meal beat them all hands down. Highly recommend, great owner , very friendly too.

A trip for a takeaway at the Sopna is a must whenever I come this way. A wonderful welcome, a smashing service, efficient and easy pre-order over the phone and despite lots of people dining in there was no extra wait. Really good choice and excellent quality. Delicious meal for two for a really good price.

Booked last minute. Our waiter John was most accommodating and helpful. The other staff were excellent and very friendly. Food was excellent. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area

In a Sunday evening, we took a chance and didn't book a table beforehand, but was fairly busy in the restaurant. The staff there made us feel very welcome and were very friendly. The food was absolutely delicious with good sized portions and reasonably priced for a lovely freshly made meal. I can DEFINITELY recommend if you are in the area!

The food here is delicious! The staff are great, really friendly and helpful. The layout is well planned with a nice conservatory area, very light and airy. The main and most important thing is the food - i cannot stress this enough - it was lovely. There were four of us eating and all four meals were amazing. One of the best balti's i've had in a long time (and I'm from Birmingham!)

Often visit Sopna but never feel disappointed with the overall experience Sid the owner is so welcoming from the minute you enter nothings too much trouble for him as are all of his staff, different culinary experiences are available on the menu but his Passanda is second to none the Jalfrazi is equally as good , great portions and very reasonably priced , will always be our go to eating place

Four of us visited prior to attending the quiz - as we do every Wednesday in the nearby pub - just for a change. I personally am not keen on mainstream Indian restaurant food. I think it tastes the same whatever the chosen dish. BUT I was pleasantly surprised on our visit this Wednesday. My choice was delicious and my companions were equally impressed both with the food and the service. Ambience and decor was also pleasing. Will return.

Had a Birthday party there this evening, they not only provided Birthday banners but also a Birthday cake complete with candles. They made the evening special and the waiter was greatly entertaining! Thanks all xx

Very disappointed with our takeaway meal. Ordered 2 jaflongs, both were of totally different taste and ingredients? Very tasteless and very small portions. Professional front of house gentleman though. They were busy but that is no excuse to dish out below standard food. We spent over £45 and unfortunately we will not be re-visiting Sopna Menai Bridge. We are local and had it been better, we would support regularly..

Great location, loads of parking (unusual for Menai Bridge), great food, manager/owner very funny and a great host. Made to feel welcome and great with kids. Very reasonably priced. Will return.

We stayed at the Anglesey lodges, we decided to have a takeaway curry, and we went for this place as it was local to the lodges, big big mistake we had 4 currys all different, they all but one had nothing that resembles a curry taste, and even the colour looked sinphetic, almost £50 waste of money, no wonder there was nobody in the restaurant when we arrived.

We took our family here tonight. We were immediately made to feel welcome. The waiter Shah was really patient and had a lovely engaging manner about him. We have 4 children, the youngest being 6 and all of them remarked about how friendly he was. They were spoken to and made to feel a part of the evening, not overlooked and treated as though children should be seen and not heard like most places.

Ordered for 4 people. We were all very disappointed. I ordered from the 'chefs recommendations' It was horrible.

Considering that the Sopna website, Trip Advisor and Google say that this place is open till 11pm, having booked a table for 8.30 it was disappointing that from 9.45ish the waiter kept looking at his watch and looking at us. Me and my friend were the only people in there at this time so I guess on quiet nights they shut early.

We returned as the food was so good & yes it is superb, excellent service. Fresh delicately spiced food, well presented. We will be back for more!

has an exceptional Lamb Balti take away last night at this restaurant. I've tried a few Indian restaurants in the area, but the Sopnai Menai is by far the best - never a reason to complain.

Visited the restaurant for a takeaway very disappointed with the food when called and expressed my disappointment to the manager was given excuses Saying The excess water was condensation From the containers then he accused me of putting water on my food.

I honestly can't fault either the food or the most wonderful people ever, the service and friendliness is only surpassed by their wonderful food where every mouthful I have eaten has been truly delightful, wonderful and delicious. I could go on for ever but I feel this says it all for now.

We returned to this amazing restaurant after being impressed the first time we dined here. On a very rainy cold evening we arrived, without a reservation, and were immediately shown to a table and offered drinks. The menus followed and our meals were served without any delay. We began with poppadums and pickles, then shared a Mixed Kebab, with Lamb Pasanda for the main meal. This was the best Lamb Pasanda I have ever eaten; the lamb was tender and succulent and the sauce very tasty - I couldn't eat all the rice ! Service was excellent and the price was also excellent. Plenty of free parking too. We will return again and again ! Definitely worth a try.

This place never fails. Chicken pathia is perfect. This could only be surpassed if they sold a definitive guide to early 19th century nut and bolt sizes, including pictures/diagrams. And Geoffrey from rainbow died the other week. Gutted

We booked a table for 8 on Friday 2/11/2018 6 adults and two children.

My wife and I eat here fairly regularly but last weekend we took some friend for a get- together type meal. They normally eat Indian food at a different restaurant but all four of them said this was the best meal they had had for a long time

Visited this place on Saturday 20th having pre booked a “quiet table” for two. On our arrival went to the bar and provided my details of the booking, only to be told that “I hadn’t booked” by the waiter. I insisted that I had booked otherwise we wouldn’t be standing there. He checked his book and my name had not been written down. When I leant over to check with him he quickly covered his hand on over the book like a little school child. At this point I was readi to walk out and told him that I would take my money elsewhere. I looked around the room and even though it was a Saturday there were plenty of free tables. Whilst I was talking to this waiter(whom I later found out was a fluent welsh speaker so there was no confusion or language barrier) I attempted one last time as I did not want to embarace my wife who was now beginning to feel uncomfortable. I again reiterated that I had booked a table and at the time of booking I requested a “quiet table” if possible. At that point the Inidian who came and stood near to the bar, replied he had taken my booking, and he proceeded to take us to our table. We got seated and our order was taken. Just over half an hour later having taken our seats our starter arrived, by this time I was absolutely starving. Eventually our main meal came. By this time I ate it so fast I couldn’t wait to get out of there. The food was fine. No different to any other Indian restaurant but nothing special. We didn’t wait to ask for the bill we immediately got up and went to the bar and paid. All in all I would say a poor evening spoiled initially the minute we walked in. Why would a customer say they’ve booked a table. Well one things for sure. I WON’T be booking a table again

Group of 8 people had pre booked this restaurant during our recent holiday on Anglesey. 2 of our party are of Asian descent and requested vegetarian dishes not on the menu and they happily obliged. For myself an Indian meal I normally eat was not on the menu but no problem the chef was happy to cook it for me. Plenty of food and quite a bit left as we were more than replete. The waiter was very humorous, cheerful and efficient. Plenty of people going for takeaways.

Ordered a takeaway as this flagged as the best Indian in Menai bridge on TripAdvisor. None of the Indian takeaways in Menai deliver so phoned order and picked up. Due to storm Callum there appeared to be only 2people working, one front and one in kitchen. Double checked our order on paying but when we got home we were missing one curry. Couldn't be bothered to brave the howling gale again so left it. Curry was alright, not the best not the worst.

We came for a friends birthday and the staff / manager was fantastic, we had complimentary drinks and dessert.

Oh how lovely, we were looked after so well and the food was beautiful, full of fresh spices but oh so tasty, we will return, so unusual to be treated with such courtesy!

We have had takeaways and eaten at the restaurant in numerous occasions. Every-time we are always pleased with the standard..... our favourites are the Biryani and mixed kebab started.. delicious. Can’t wait for our next visit.

Sid's cooking and hospitality are the very best you will find anywhere, with dishes to suit everyone's tastes. We eat here regularly and can highly recommend the menu, the friendly staff and the lovely restaurant. It beats all other tandoori/Indian restaurants in North Wales, hands down, Sid is a great host, we love his food and his welcome. The menu caters for lovers of the hot and spicy as well as those who like it milder. A good place to have a party, plenty of room and larger tables for big groups.

Have just visited and had to give a review straight away! Our waiter was very knowledgable on what was suitable for vegans and the food was very tasty (excited for the leftovers tomorrow)! Also very friendly and nice with recommending things for us to do in the area whilst we are on holiday. Food was also well presented and quick. Plenty of parking available too. Will visit again if we return to Anglesey!

The masala sauce was creamy and rich, and the chicken was beautifully cooked. The service was amazing, we did t have to wait for an unhooked table, and Mamzi greeted and bantered with us throughout the evening. The food was served quickly, and went down just as fast. Best restaurant in all of Wales, definitely come back again any time! 5 stars.

On holiday and just happened by accident to pass this curry house. We stopped and had a takeaway and we are glad we did. The staff were very friendly and the food was very tasty and still piping hot when we got back to our accommodation. Would definitely recommend if you are visiting

The food at the Sopna can't be faulted - one of the best Indian Restaurants in the area. The excellent culinary experience doesn't quite earn the full five stars due to the restaurant's location and ambience. It is a bit like an industrial unit in the middle of a business park and is overlit. Not really the atmosphere for a romantic dinner for two, but if your main priority is the food, then it can't be faulted..

Absolutely fantastic meal. Service was spot on as usual. As there was a big group of us the organisation was great on taking orders and for how the bill was organised to pay. Staff were very helpful and polite. Definitely recommend 😃😀

Visited Saturday the 14Th of july to celebrate a special occasion. Warm welcoming atmosphere with cheerful staff. Lovely warm food, still sizzing on the tray as it came from the kitchen. Will be visiting again! Also Cobra on tap, what more could you ask for.

We visited Sopna on the advice of the owners of the Guest Houst we stayed at, and were extremely glad we did! Pete is gluten and dairy free, and not only did the recommend a dish, the also advised on suitable rice and side dishes, all of which he enjoyed immensely. My meal was also amazing. As if that was not enough, they recommended we visited the National Slate Museum, which we did the next day, and had a great time - thank you.

Ordered a takeaway for the family. Each one of us said the same thing. It was the worst curry I have ever tasted in my life. It was so bland, no flavour and the veg was very watery. A jalfrerzi is usually full of flavour but this had zero flavour! If we hadn't have travelled a distance to pick it up then we would have taken it back to demand a refund. We threw almost all of our food in the bin, it was that bad! Very poor!

Another fantastic experience at what we think is the Best Indian restaurant in North Wales, it was an extremely busy night there and when you taste the food you realise why. The food is always tasty and well presented and your always made to feel special by the friendly staff

Absolutely awful. We’ve supported them for so long but after last weeks effort of cheap frozen veg in a veg curry we have decided to not go again. You can taste frozen veg guys, and we know what it looks like! it was horrible. You occasionally get a nice meal but it’s got so rare recently it looks like it must have changed hands. I published a great review at Christmas as they were good then. We now just go to the taste of India. Skimping so much on ingredients has lost them our custom.

Eat here reasonably regularly during the summer and always get a good meal and friendly service. could recommend this anytime

Polite gentleman to greet you through the door! Classic Indian restaurant. Heard it was a lovely Indian in the area. Got the classic Tikka. Veg looked a bit sad /mushy and the sauce had a funny taste to it that I’ve never tried in a tikka before- a not so pleasant taste. Not sure if I’d recommend for the best food quality for the prices. However, the staff were professional/polite.

For our Mothering Sunday evening dinner we decided to have Indian cuisine. It was to be our first Indian meal this year. Usually when going to Sopna, I do not book a table in advance, we just drive there and are always giving a table. As it was Mother’s Day, I thought it was best to book well in advance. On arrival I realised it had been a wise decision because the empty tables were few. We were really surprised because we had never seen so many diners there during a visit.

Called here after a group walk. Sid, the owner is one of the most pleasant people you could ever meet. Although I hadn't been for a couple of months he welcomed me by name and remembered my 'usual' drink! I'm not a big fan of...

I visited with a large group of friends, which the restaurant was happy to accommodate and made it really easy for us to split the bill by noting the names of each person as they ordered. The drinks and starters arrived quickly, and I was impressed that the main courses for all of us were brought out at the same time - no-one had to wait. The food was excellent. I was served a very generous portion of lamb tikka, and it was cooked to perfection. All of the staff at the restaurant were extremely friendly and made us all feel very welcome, and I will definitely go again.

Arrived on 21st February Evening after a pre book to celebrate my 60th birthday with close family, what a suprprise!!.

We had a take away from Sopna's, ordering a variety of dishes to feed seven people. The food was utterly delicious - really impressed with the quality and the portions of the food. Am still feeling stuffed several hours later!

Chicken jalfrezi and lamb rogan josh with chappatties and nans was our order, and as advised when ordering by phone they were ready 30 minutes later. The meat in both dishes was perfectly cooked, the chicken pieces chunky and succulent, and the lamb tender - able to cut with the edge of the fork. Service was friendly, and for a wet Wednesday night in January, the restaurant was busy enough with diners who seemed to be enjoying their food too. Recommended.

Unpretentious Indian restaurant that delivers excellent food. We tried it for the 1st time tonight and were hugely impressed. Our ‘go to’ when in Anglesey. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
