What a gem to find in a dump like Northampton. Early Tues eve and busy..for a reason Lovely food. One of best lasagne this side of Rome. Amazing service. Eisha (I think) made a wonderful atmosphere and great service

Very good ambience, family run restaurant with fantastic dishes, Roast Duck with Raspberries and Pears was to die for, Cheesecake Desert was truly delightful. Would recommend thoroughly, great hospitality, great food and well worth the price.

The atmosphere is amazing here, the food is delicious always and they make changes if you need. Lovely staff and food! Will come again.

If I could sum up my experience at SOPHIA'S in 2 words.. It was delightful and delicious! I would rate it a 5/5. It was our anniversary and we decided on Sophia's. Fortunately we got the reservation. The staff on phone was polite and booking a table was seamless. Ambience: The very first thing that caught our eyes was the homeliness and beauty of this place. It is so weird that although it wasn't extravagant, but still the feeling of this place was pure Joy. Just the right amount of lighting. Also, the wax candle placed at each table really lights up the mood. There are hand made murals done on the wall which gives a real Mediterranean feel. Please keep in mind that If you want a really quiet place, this surely isn't! Since people get really happy and talk their hearts out. So it was definitely not quiet 😂 Food: Food was delicious. I loved the fact that they have kept a small menu but judging by 4 items we had, they pour their hearts out in those. The Garlic Bread was crusty and the melted cheese on the top was delicious. The Arabiata Pasta and Sea bass were cooked to perfection. A must haves for sure! Service: Although I am not completely sure since I didn't have had the chance to ask, but I am pretty sure that it's family run restaurant. The staff was very attentive and quick when we called or needed something. Food took reasonable time as it would have taken to be cooked freshly. Everyone who was serving was smiling and bursting of joy. It was efficient and with care. Overall, I would say it was a delightfully memorable evening for us and I would blindly recommend this place for anyone to visit and try.

Visiting families in the area and asked them for a recommendation for where to eat on Saturday evening. With Sophia’s getting the most suggestions I went ahead and requested a table online. I got an email back within their confirming my request was booked. We arrived and was greeted with a friendly smile the. shown to our table. Complimentary bread and a wonderful garlic aioli dip We ordered and the food arrive in good time, hot and super delicious. The service was spot on with a limoncello to finish. We will definitely be back when in the area again

What a fabulous restaurant. We were travelling north from Kent so looking for a dinner venue close to our hotel. The website, menu and local reviews persuaded me to book and we are very glad we did as it was very busy with happy, well fed diners. The hosts are brilliant, friendly and efficient with a great sense of humour. They were only beaten by sone truly delicious food with souvlaki, calamari and feta salad as good as any in Greece and a lasagne and chicken dish that my Italian nona would be proud of... I can't post any pictures as we were too busy eating...! Highly recommended

Came for my mother in laws 70th birthday with family. Good tasted good, atmosphere spot on and staff lovely! They did an amazing job and were very attentive to our needs! Will definitely be back! :)

We were in Northampton for a conference and looking for something to eat. Sophia's was a blessed saviour from mediocre chain restaurants! Lovely little independent restaurant that dealt wonderfully with a lot of my colleagues descending onto it at short notice.

We were a group of 14 on a birthday meal just before Xmas. The service was fantastic considering how busy it was. But the food was even better. We had a variety of dishes between us, from steaks to pasta, through to Pizzas etc. Every dish was fantastic and everybody in the group loved their meal. My wife and I are going back next week. Well done to the staff / chef. Don’t change anything, you have everything spot on.

Lovely meal with excellent service. Bridge Street isn’t really where we’d usually choose to go, but this place is great and we’re definitely going to eat here next time we are in Northampton.

We went for an early evening meal. The service was very good and the food was excellent. I had the risotto. It's not a usual choice for me, but I loved it. The restaurant serves a wide choice of Italian food. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

Nice little restaurant at the bottom of bridge street. We were staying at the Premier inn which is only a 5 minute walk away. The garlic bread and lamb starters were very good. The cod on the specials menu was tasty, however my partner had the prawn dish as a main course, this was not great. The tiramisu dessert was tasteless. Service ok.

Came here with my boyfriend for his birthday, table had birthday decoration which was unexpected and lovely. Service is amazing, we always feel warm, welcome and looked after. Food and wine was beautiful as usual. Dine here as soon as you can.

First visit on Fri night, what a lovely little restaurant, great food along with everything else, would like to go back .

We visited Sophias to celebrate our friends 38th wedding anniversary on Thursday. The venue is clean and the decor reflects the ambience they are trying to create. We ordered from a very friendly and helpful waitress - 3 of 'Sophias Mushrooms' and one lamb Souvlaki. The food was presented well and tasted lovely - however I would suggest that the quantity of mushrooms be increased by at least a couple as the mushrooms had all long gone while I was still enjoying the Souvlaki. Mains were Steak Diane, Fillet steak, Cod, and the Pork - all cooked to perfection and in quantities that compensated for the smaller starters. Excellent! We all had a desert and the two chocolate mousse was divine, the Creme brulee went down well, the chocolate brownie? is unlikley to be a repeat for the recipient but the cheeseboard ( for two ) was outstanding! Service was good throughout. The only lost star is because we were the only diners in at the time which is a shame as it does reduce the ambience and atmosphere. On a plus side we could all hear each other! We will be back again and hope to see others enjoying the food as well.

An intimidate restaurant with excellent service and good quality and good tasting food. Complimentary breadsticks to start (homemade) and a limoncello shot to finish. Steak and duck breast was delicious. Would throughly recommend.

Came for a family members birthday the other day. The lady that served us was lovely, and very accommodating it was just a shame about some of the food. For me, my filet steak was cooked well, which I opted to have with peppercorn sauce. Pricing is about average, and portion sizes good. Would try again in the future as I wonder if it was just an off day in some areas as some of the flavors/food was good.

This place is a little gem! Food, place and service is lovely

Lovely Italian/Mediterranean restaurant. This was my first visit as it was the for Leaders dinner. Arranging it was smooth and they allocated the upstairs seating area just for us 👍🏽 the only let down was that one of our servers didn't understand what being a vegan meant and when discussing menu options offered her a lamb dish! Luckily our guest wasn't offended and found it humorous. We were given a different server and the service ran smoothly after that 😊 My Parma Pizza was a decent size and yummy 😋

GO AND EAT THERE...They Slightly adaptedmy order to suit me...BRILLIANT. Nice kind friendly staff. The only thing was there was a group that was a little too noisy but that was not Sophias fault and they moved us to a different table. Want to and will go there again. FOOD WAS GOOD

Sadly, this meal was pretty disappointing. The salad was way over salted and the pasta was way overdone. The menu isn't nearly as creative as pre Covid (2019 or so). Service was great, very friendly.

Sophias is always a treat. The food is delicious, the restaurant is beautiful and the service is top knotch and friendly. We had the gambas followed by duck with pear and rasperries, and the goats cheese followed by sea bass. Generous amounts of meat and fish. We shared a strawberry tirimasu. I was curious but not sure how it would work mixing the coffee with strawberries but it was delicious. This was for a date night. We left happy and well fed but not stuffed.

Food was excellent and the waitress that looked after us was really attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. A quiet night but the atmosphere with the music was brilliant.

Lovely little restaurant with a rustic Mediterranean interior. The service was great and the roses and candles on the tables for Valentine’s Day was a nice touch. The food was fantastic and appropriately priced. The cocktails and wines were delicious. Will be coming back soon.

Very disappointing, can so tell John no longer there. Mushrooms all’s Sophia tasteless Steak Diane whilst I get the no longer cooking at tables, but the dinner was awful, plate full of Diane cream sauce. Soggy potatoes, fatty steak, just awful. Gone down hill

Up from Surrey to see a show. Picked this restaurant as it was near to the theatre and opened early. So glad we did. Lovely little restaurant, extensive menu, delicious food and great service. If we lived nearer we would definitely make regular visits. Give it a try - you won’t be disappointed!

First time at this restaurant last night and alas, probably our last. We dined as a table of four, two couples. Initially our table service was very attentive, unfortunately it slowly wained and we were left for lengthy periods in between courses. Towards the end of the night we were the only table left and instead of being offered coffees, we were offered our coats. Needless to say, we found this very disappointing and somewhat rude. As for the food, starters arrived and we were a few items short. One piece of bread, instead of two on the sharing platter, no tzatziki with the lamb skewers. Initially we were offered a bread basket by the waitress, only to be told it wasn't possible, as it's not on the menu and we would have to make do with garlic bread. As for the mains, the duck breast.,we were advised would be served medium, was over cooked. Also very lack lustre, some form of vegetable would have been most welcomed. The seafood linguine came with a lovely tasty sauce and very little actual seafood. The calamari in the linguine was overcooked and rubbery, which ruined the dish. Deserts, probably our best course of the night, chocolate fondant, Baileys cheesecake, Tiramisu, all very nice, particularly the cheesecake. Such a shame when all the little things add up with the food and poor service. Our experience could have been so much better, hence our decision never to return.

Nice environment, good place for fine diner, love their daily dessert (sponge cake) and king prawn(starter), highly recommend.

Second time here. Real disappointment this time. Were looking forward to a decent pre-theatre meal like we had last time but it was not to be. Starters were OK nice sauce on the mussels but not great mussels. Asparagus and ham reasonable. The mains were average to awful. Since when were chick peas and raw onion classed as 'seasonal vegetables'? Scallopini steak was well overcooked and soggy without a hint of the promised lemon. My Rossini was just about OK but overall there was no 'wow this is good'. The food was lacking that passion, that touch that elevates it to something special, something worth going out for something you're happy to pay for. Dessert an average creme brulee and a grainy cheese cake both again lacking flavour. The waitress did offer to change the scallopini steak but this was pre-theatre and time would not have permitted. I did give my feedback when asked if everything was OK but still received a full bill. We won't be going again.

Went to Sophias by accident as we hadn't booked and just passing. They were so accommodating and found us a table. There was live guitar playing and the atmosphere was great. The visit was for my daughters hen party meal. The menu was varied and reasonably priced, service was very attentive and the drinks menu very good. Portions were very generous and the food quality and presentation was excellent! Oh, and not forgetting the lovely music playlist! This is a genuine review of this restaurant and I can't believe I am writing it as I normally think they are mostly fake! However......Incredibly good food and service, we had a most enjoyable evening and attention to our wants and needs were well taken care of. Reasonably priced and I was expecting to pay far more than the bill was. Well done all at Sophias, we will not only be returning but will be brining others to enjoy your hospitality and food.

Nice little restaurant serving Mediterranean staples. Not a great deal of choice for us vegans but there again not many restaurants do. The restaurant was not busy but still had a good atmosphere.
