Sonoma is located at the Hilton Belfast hotel. The restaurant is light and bright with very friendly staff and tasty lunches, breakfasts and dinners. My husband and I ate there at least 3 times during our week long stay at the hotel.

Sonoma restaurant is located in the Hilton Hotel, and we only tried breakfast here. The breakfast was quite good, if same menu everyday. Except for the weekend, when the restaurant provided prosecco. That was a nice touch, though couldn't drink it on Sunday since I had to drive.The best item was hash brown - nice and crispy outside, and good ol' potato flavors. I also liked the macaroons, with chocolate bottom and moist coconut inside.Good service, as well - we left a sweater accidentally on Saturday, and was able to find it on Sunday as the staff brought the sweater from lost and found.Definitely worth the visit!

Fui con mi esposa al hermoso restaurante Sonoma ubicado en el hotel HILTON.Previamente habíamos reservado una mesa, ya que el restaurante está muy ocupado con los huéspedes del hotel, los visitantes del paseo marítimo y las fiestas.Nos recibió una encantadora dama llamada Shannon, que era muy atractiva y nos hizo sentir bienvenidos. Una gran ventaja para el personal del restaurante.El menú era extenso y bien presentado con una gran selección de entrantes, platos principales y postres. No hemos comido aquí desde hace unos años, así que cuando vimos una cena de bistec Living Social (29 para una cena de 63, creo), me pareció una buena oportunidad para ver si comeríamos aquí en el futuro.Todo comenzó bien, ya que un miembro del personal extremadamente útil nos mostró una mesa agradable junto a la ventana. Es cierto que, aunque tenía un abrigo y una mochila, no me ofrecieron ayuda y ¡tuve que apilarlos en el piso!El bistec era tierno, si definitivamente se cocinaba más allá del medio como pedimos, pero ya estaba muy condimentado sin la salsa salpicada. Solo estaba acompañado por una guarnición de berros y unas cuantas patatas fritas.También se incluyó una copa de vino espumoso, pero para ser franco, fue desagradablemente dulce como una bebida barata de zumo de manzana y ninguno de nosotros pudo terminar nuestra copa.Hemos hablado de esta comida un par de veces! Nuestra suposición es que el propósito de Living Social es que un restaurante demuestre su calidad para alentar las visitas de retorno. We were going to the waterfront so decided to eat here using their taste card promotion, which was a great saving. Wine is expensive and the server forgot one of our starters but food was beautiful. I'd definitely try it again.

Estuve en el restaurante el domingo pasado en un grupo de cuatro. Comida y servicio fueron muy buenos. Sin embargo, cerca de donde estaba sentado en nuestra mesa, había lo que solo se puede deducir como un piso roto debajo de la alfombra. Fui con otra pareja el 6 de octubre con Living Social Deal. Muy decepcionado con el servicio y el personal nos trató como ciudadanos de segunda clase. Deje una tarjeta de comentarios completada en la recepción, ya que no confiaba en que el personal del restaurante la entregara. La chica de la recepción fue muy amable y me pidió que pusiera mi dirección de correo electrónico para que alguien pudiera volver a llamarme. AÚN ESPERO 23 DÍAS DESPUÉS. Fui a Sonoma para salir por la noche y terminé yendo a otro lugar para terminar nuestra noche con cafés y licores, etc. Todo salió mal desde que fuimos hasta que nos fuimos. Reservamos en agosto. Por suerte tuve la fecha y la hora en que llamé y El nombre del hombre que se hizo cargo de la reserva lo escribí en mi cupón cuando dijeron que no habíamos reservado. Luego, como se explica en la tarjeta de comentarios, todo fue cuesta abajo después de eso.Espero mi respuesta.

Decidimos aprovechar la oferta de "vida social" reservada por amigos que nos acompañaron, tabla de 4, sin registro de reserva a pesar de la confirmación el 18 de agosto. The food is good but everyday the food seems the same. in some mornings the variety of fruits was limited. For instance there were no bananas offered during two of the six mornings

We had a 'steak dinner for 2' voucher from Living Social, and went to the Sonoma last night.

Visited Sonoma for my mum’s birthday with the family and had a really fantastic meal! All the flavours were delicious, and everything was cooked perfectly! They were even very accommodating with my dietary requirements, cooking my meal how I needed which really sets them apart.

We were unable to get a reservation elsewhere and it started raining. We ate here because we were staying in the hotel. The service was very “iffy” at the beginning. No one to greet us or seat us. They seemed to prefer we go next door for a drink before dinner. We stayed there in the bar anyway.

Nice location and very good service but food was a little disappointing. Would have expected a iot higher standard food (and maybe choices) for the prices being charged. Average wine very expensive too.

I have been at this restaurant with friends on many occasions and was so looking forward to this visit. I had bought 4 vouchers for 2 steak meals. One for myself and wife and the other 3 for friends. Previously the vouchers were for two courses with sparkling wine, this time for the same money but just one course and sparkling wine. Well I was disappointed. The steak course just came with a small bowl of chips, no vegetables at all, no mushrooms, no onion ring, nothing. How much would that have cost Sonoma? If we had been offered vegetables at an extra cost we would have bought them. We did buy puddings, wine which doubled the cost of the vouchers and then had an unannounced service charge added. I normally give a tip based on the non voucher cost but didn’t feel inclined this time. Well do you know? I was embarrassed in front of my guests at the spartan meal and don’t know if I will be back. There are other restaurants in Belfast who want my custom and offer a better experience with ambiance at similar prices (or less). On top of that, I had to pay £8 or £9 to park my car in the Hilton car park. Not a great experience this time. Hilton Sonoma, you will have to raise your game. I have a ‘gift’ going on Thursday and have ‘warned’ them what to expect (or not to expect). Not a good first experience for them.

Nice food at Hilton Hotel. Nice view over the river. The food is very good. Not so cheap as it’s a hotel restaurant but it’s a very good option for a quiet place with good food.

We stopped in for a light breakfast and after being seated learned that they don't have a breakfast menu so our only choice was the tired looking things on the buffet.

Stayed at the Hilton of which this restaurant is a part of. Had an evening meal here. I had venison the wife had steak, both of which were very nice. Plenty of other choice to suit most tastes. Service was very good, wine a bit pricy. Also had breakfast (buffet style) here as part of the stay. Also very nice, plenty of choice and they were happy to make you something extra is you desired. Average price for the main meals was £20. Cheapest bottle of wine £25, most were in the high £30-40 bracket.

We went with a discount voucher from a site which sells these, 2 courses for 2 plus a glass of prosecco each (delicious). In addition I had a large glass of wine, at around £8, and the dessert, plus my family companion had a coke. The great priced deal made the total price very good for us.

We were staying at the Hilton and ate in the Sonoma on the first night. It was a lovely meal and can't be faulted. I would happily go back again.

Arrived here without a reservation. The lady in the restaurant very kindly squeezed us in before a large party was to arrive. Very friendly and accommodating . Drinks and food were served quite quickly. One thing I did like was the fact the food was piping hot. I have never tried risotto before but liked the sound of wild mushrooms and roasted garlic risotto. It didn't disappoint, it was so tasty. My main dish was chicken fillet with chips and pepper sauce. Thoroughly enjoyable. All in all we really enjoyed our dinner .

Booked for 5.45 for pre theatre meal.Order for drinks taken after 15 minutes.Order for meal after 30 mins.Starter arrived about 6.40 but still no sign of the pre dinner drink.Asked waitress to cancel pre dinner drink as we already had starter.She said yes but 10 minutes later our pre dinner drink arrived at table.Sent these back.too late.First course was acceptable salt and chilli chicken but not great.Main course filled after a further 30 minutes.Chicken with Bombay potatoes .Tough,cold and not really marinated.Partner had beef which was fine.No real time for coffee or third course.Very disappointing.The pre-dinner drink was on the bill but removed when we explained.Felt we would have been better treated in Macdonald's.

We had a Living Social voucher and the meal we had was absolutely superb. I had the chowder starter and my wife had the cheese board and both were of an excellent standard. For mains , i had the sea bass and she had the chicken . Again these were very good. However the main thing was the excellent service.

Food was okay but the service was very very slow. We waited forever for our drink order to be taken then waited even longer for our food order to be taken and we won't even go in to how long it took to receive the food. Order wasn't correct but we just ate it and left just to be done with the place. I totally blame my husband and myself for waiting as long as we did for the final product that was received. Service was disjointed as the servers were dealing with a large party which left the rest of us to mind ourselves.

This place had the best breakfast of any of our hotels during our entire stay in Ireland. The bread was great and so was the service.

After a little trouble with booking our table, we enjoyed a great evening in Sonoma. The staff were attentive and gracious. Between us we had soup of the day - roast butternut squash and a seafood chowder served in a hollowed out mini- loaf and a Mediterranean board for two with delicious tapenade, pesto, meats and more. Our main courses included lamb chops with a Greek theme of tzatsiki and aubergine, a large sirloin steak which was both delicious and substantial if not quite as tender as one would like. The seafood - bass had run out but brill was the substitute and was enjoyed, as was the salmon dish. There was a good choice on the menu and decent portions with everything presented beautifully. The view out to the Lagan is lovely and the dining area is spacious and quite calm, which I liked.We will definitely return, it's a great restaurant within a hotel.

A bit surprised to see on the Starters' Menu a smoked haddock & potato/leek chowder served in a home-baked Irish Soda Bread loaf. However, that's exactly what it was. A beautiful soda bread loaf, hollowed out and filled with delicious haddock chowder. Magical! Main course was 8 oz ribeye with blue cheese jus, chunky chips & roasted vegetables, washed down with a glass of Malbec. Nice but unexceptional and pricey....chips & veg extras! Restaurant has oblique view over River Lagan, butMy table stared through floor-to-ceiling windows at a weed infested, concrete, outside seating area. Not unpleasant but not great!

Had a lovely meal on a saturday night in April 2016. Set menu of 3 courses, plenty of choices I liked. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Firstly, the staff from the beginning until we left were fantastic, attentive & very pleasant to deal with & made the experience very pleasant. The afternoon tea was delicious & plentiful & as we were celebrating my sister's birthday we received a lovely complimentary glass of cava. As 1 of our party didn't turn up we were able to take the remaining sweets with us. Would definitely recommend.

As guests of the Hilton, we ate both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Staff exceeded our expectations and the food was very good.

Called in late; it was nearly closing time but the staff were excellent. We just wanted Cod and Chips which wasn't on the menu but it wasn't a problem at all. The food was great

I have eaten here many times whilst on business. Whilst the Hilton Hotel is second to none, the restaurant can be inconsistent. It depends on the day you go, which chef is on and what is being cooked. The menu is repeated for weeks on end so can become tedious. However, it is always edible and sometimes lovely, sorry I can't be clearer, but the inconsistency of it leads me to rate it at 3.

I attended the Sonoma Restaurant in Belfast Hilton hotel on 30 January 2016 for afternoon tea with Jazz & Prosecco to celebrate a friends 50th birthday. We were a group of 6 females and we had a great afternoon. The staff allowed me to put up balloons and decorate the table before the rest of our party arrived. The food platters were top rate and the service from the staff was excellent. We had leftovers which the staff put into boxes so that we could bring them home. We had a terrific afternoon and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were attentive and professional. Thank you for making a memorable day for our party.

we received a voucher for here from a family friend, excited at the prospect of dining at the Hilton, we booked for Saturday night past. we were sat in front of the bar in the restaurant while our table was set, which is fair enough on a Saturday night. but I didn't expect to see half the restaurant already set for breakfast the next morning. with no offer of a drinks order we were brought to our table with menus, nearly ten mins later we were still sat with no drinks or order taken. when we eventually ordered food was poor, mushroom bruschetta, was two grilled mushrooms on bread with cheese. no sign of any bruschetta mix whatsoever. the rare steak was overdone and cold. as for my partners Jacobs ladder of beef? a lamb shank was put down in front of her. when we informed the manager all the food including sides were removed from the table to be replaced, as they said. 2 minutes later the exact plates returned to the table, after being flashed under the grill. beef in the place of the lamb shank.. poor service, poor food, poor everything. disappointed to say the least....

The food here is great. This is the only reason they received 3 stars as service deserves 2 at best. The braised lamb was succulent and delicious. The sea bream was perfectly cooked. Good wine selection. Tasty crumble and pudding. Service was deplorable. As we are about to enter a male host posts himself in front of the stand and blocks us. Then it takes over 20 minutes to take our food order. Then we are ignored twice by the female hostess when we signal her over to get the check. Once we finally get the check, they charged us for 2 bottles of wine we did not order (there were only 3 adults at the table!!!). We had to physically go to a host to rectify. Finally after 30 minutes of trying to get a bill we received the correct one. Try the food if you can deal with the inexperience and ineptitude.

We stayed in the hotel. Our first night we ordered room service. For £70 the steak was not that good. We asked for medium well and they were both well done. Though they were not tough, still didn't want well done. Every morning we went down for breakfast, the eggs were really runny scrambled eggs. Yogurt was watery from not being kept cold enough. Orange juice was good, it actually tasted like Orange juice unlike other hotels we have stayed at. Coffee to me tasted the exact same as every other hotel we have stayed in, bland and flavorless.

I had several working meals during my recent business trip to Belfast. I tend to avoid hotel restaurants if there are local alternatives nearby and in Belfast that goes without saying. But we were tired and decided to stay in for a meal.The food and service were very very good. Presentations were very well done so the food was visually pleasing as well as being delicious. Selection was good.All in all, not a bad choice for a good dinner.

It was very quiet here, but the food was good. No complaints. If the weather is terrible and you don't feel like walking, you should be ok here. The servers are friendly too.

It's a must when in Belfast to have high tea. And this place is so good. Make a reservation here for high tea. The view is nice, the staff is helpful, the ambience relaxing, and the food is great.

Although most menu items were pricey, the appetizers were quite reasonable if you only want a small portion. I can definitely recommend the fish cake with mixed salad. The accompanying bread was fresh and delicious.

Had dinner and breakfast here whilst we had an overnight stay at Hilton Belfast outstanding staff and service and the summer menu food was outstanding.

Food was quite nice nothing exceptional and the decor was lovely but the what you pay you are expecting more variety and choice at this restuarant. I don't know if it is because it is based in the Hilton hotel which is 5 star that they feel they should charge these prices but look at your menu and add more choice and range please.

Ate here last night 2 courses for 2 with a glass of house wine each £29 for two on living social (actually cheaper as they were doing a 10% off at the time).I can not fault the meal both courses were good - glass of house wine drinkable.Service excellent.Only thing that lets it down is not a lot of atmosphere. But if you see a voucher deal for this restaurant get it. The food and value more than make up for the lack of atmosphere and sure you can head to the near by bars for all the atmosphere you want after your meal

Well it was a business meeting and my host was staying there, and Monday night close by recommended restaurants (eg Ox or James St South ) would not be open, so c'est la vie...dine in hotel.....dreading it...but hey ho...When one is a guest you just go with the flow. Did not feel comfortable in this hotel at all at all and I cannot put my finger on it....anyways went into the bar for pre dinner drink was driving so I had a sparkling water Peligrino - my host wanted a Martini Red not sure the wee girl understood, anyway she came back with a Martini Blanco which was just so wrong, we were told no Martini Rosso...ok you may ask is this a three star hotel I do not know......(or is it four star).....On to dinner...we both chose chicken dish, do you know something Trip Advisors I am stopping here cause it was overcooked, looked damned unappealing: it did have a concannon potato cake (which was crap) one wee glass of SB - would not in any shape or form recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy.............here ended the lesson,,, Hilton please get act together it is not always people who are used to a Burger and Chips who wish to dine with you !!....:-(

This is a restaurant on the ground floor of the Hilton hotel in the centre of Belfast. I ate here at 9pm on a Friday night and there were only 2 other diners in this huge restaurant. The food was nothing special - not bad, just not outstanding. Whilst I was still still eating the staff were setting up the restaurant for breakfast in the morning and rather than lifting the chairs and tables they dragged them along which was quite noisy. I paid £33 but did not feel that this dining experience was a £33 per head restaurant. With hindsight I can see why all the other guests ate outside the hotel.

Visited the restaurant Sunday past with a Living Social Voucher. The Food was yet again excellent, full of flavour and nicely presented. The beef we had for the main course literally fell apart it was that tender. All the waitresses that served us or took our order were very pleasant & polite and nothing was too much trouble. Look forward to the next experience eating at this restaurant!!

My wife and I dined at Sonoma in Belfast Hilton on Sat. 18 th April 2015 courtesy of our Grandson. Meal was Voucher Special - 2 course with glass Prosecco. Warmly received and promptly seated. Drinks order taken and promptly served. Whilst not the usual type of menu we go for we were pleasantly surprised. Food was good and ample. Perhaps a bit more expensive than other hotels. Service was excellent and staff friendly. We were going to a show after and this was ideal for our needs.

The food here was delicious, well prepared and a nice variety. The servers themselves were great. I think the menu changes once per month so either way what you get I'm sure will be delicious.

10 of us had the 2-course meal with a glass of Prosecco with the Living Social deal. None of us could fault anything. The food choice was excellent and the food itself superb. Wine ordered by the bottle is much better value than buying a glass. We would definitely all return to the restaurant, the ambience and setting was delightful. The dining chairs are the most comfortable chairs I have ever experienced in a restaurant. The staff are 5*, nothing was too much trouble. Jugs of water were plentiful. The Americano coffee was served in a "big" cup, expensive was lovely.

Good food, well prepared and presented, excellent and attentive service in a nice, comfortable setting. Wine expensive.

It was really nice to sit down, and be served by waitresses who were so patient and polished in their attention to detail.The 3 main courses we had, were generous portions.(side dishes also) Very tasty, and cooked to perfection.I will be recommending to others. A************

We had a lovely meal at this restaurant, which was included in our deal staying at the hotel. We had breads and oils to start, one is enough for two people. I had salmon with mash and my hubby had cod and chips. Then for dessert, I had sticky toffee pudding and ice cream and my hubby rhubarb and apple crumble and ice cream. The whole meal was scrumptious and the staff were extra helpful and friendly.

We had a good meal .Just beware of the wine prices .A 250 glass of merlot was £9 .A 175 glass was £7.50.

I only ate here once during my 18 night sta. There was othing wrong with the food, it's just that nothing stood out. Other things being equal, I preferred the bar as there were TV's and more people,

This was a repeat visit, staff so attentive, but not overbearing. Food fantastic, and staff well informed regarding Celaic diets. Lovely atmosphere and layout of restaurant.Will be returning again.

The restaurant is a vast open space, therefore looks empty despite there being 20-25 people eating. Food: Great selection on all courses, the food was served was OUTSTANDING!The only negative I have: two glasses of Chardonnay was £22.50 However when Iquestioned this the Manager said it was an old price list which was still on the POS - HARDLY 5*!!

The review relates to the Sonoma breakfast on the morning of 17Dec 2014. Excellent in every way and better than the London Hilton Hotels I have stayed at. Everything tasted fresh and uniquely the bacon was lean, almost fat free, and nicely cooked - unlike the anaemic bacon steamed and 'smoked' in some other hotel chains. Eggs very fresh and pastries, light and fluffy, with golden brown finish. Choice was everything one could wish for (including fruit) and service was attentive without being intrusive. Add to that tables nicely spaced: this was an enjoyable experience and added to the general homely welcome experienced at the Hotel.

A friend booked a show at The Waterfront Hall in Belfast. It was a Christmas present from her to us. We decided it would be nice to, in return, take our friend for a meal before the show and booked Sonara in the Hilton hotel ,right next door to the Waterfront. I rang some weeks in advance to book and to avoid disappointment but had great difficulty making a booking. I was promised a call back within the hour to confirm. It didn't happen. I rang later that day and got the same story and again I did not receive a call. I rang again the following day and ,once again I got the same story. I asked why the booking could not be taken and inquired if the restaurant was busy on the date required and was told at that time the booking page was blank. I decided to have one last attempt and rang that evening and explained that I had telephoned several times . The booking was made and I noted the name Connor to avoid any possible confusion on the night. We arrived on the night and my concerns were realised - there was no record of us on the list. I explained about booking in advance and told the waitress the booking was taken by 'Connor'. I was told "we can fit you in" and they did. Not a good start to the night out ,and what's more ,the meals were very mediocre for the price, and, we didn't get the desserts requested but by this stage , I just wanted out of there so we paid the bill and will not be back.

Sonoma restaurant was very disappointing. I was very much looking forward to my dinner in this award winning restaurant. My husband and I ordered steak and I have to say the steak was tasteless, the dressed salad was limp and drenched in oil only - tasteless. The starters and desserts were ok nothing special. I am just at a loss as to how this place could have won any awards as it is totally lacking in atmosphere also.

Was taken to the Hilton for a birthday treat on a Thursday evening. Had been looking forward to it as I expected exceptional food but was disappointed.The hotel and staff are faultless - they really were exceptional however the food is another matter. For such a big hotel the menu consisted of four choices for starters, four choices for mains and four desert choice. There was nothing outstanding on the menu - mains were chicken and leek pie, sliced pork, vegetarian kebab or fish. It was ok thats all I can say = there was nothing to make it outstanding - I am only an interested home cook with absolutely no qualifications but felt I could have done better in my own kitchen. It was nicely presented, warm, but vegtable portions were absolutely tiny - one piece of broccoli and a couple of gfreen beans. All in all it was acceptable but was a very long way of the wow factor you would expect in a restaurant and hotel of this standard. Would go back again for the surroundings but not for the food.

was here on friday night not for the first time. unfortunately due to family circumstances i had to change my reservations twice but they were more than helpful in doing this. We arrived 9pm on Friday and were left waiting for a table, the manager however explained he simply wanted us to have a nice view by the window. A+ for thatmyself and my partner both ordered soup and it came with some very tasty bread and was very nice. i couldnt wait for the main to come out. She tried the steak which was medium and done perfectly whilst I had the pheasant. both of which were extremely nice. we also ordered chips and onion rings which had a perfect portion and were both very nice.As we had a travelzoo deal we both were entitled to a dessert. I wouldnt have got it if i hadnt already paid for it as i was fit to burst by this stage but we went for apple crumble with vanilla ice cream (me) and trio of chocolate desserts. again it was reasonably priced with the deal and with the food and staff, all in all it was a nice evening and i will be back.I have been here atleast 3 times and its been perfect each time.would recommend, also head into the bar of the hotel for a relaxing drink after. 5 stars

The restaurant is pleasant, and the food is very good. The price is not very expensive, at least compared with the nearby restaurants.

Visited Sonoma Restaurant again with a Groupon Voucher. Restaurant was empty when we arrived although started to fill up gradually during the evening. The dining room staff were very pleasant and attentive. The food was tastefully presented and full of flavour. Would recommend and look forward to returning.

Good food and fantastic service. The staff were very professional with a very friendly manner. The fiord was served promptly and was delicious they even went out of they way to accommodate my plain eating habits. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I have stayed between here & templepatrick on a few occasions the buffet breakfast and jugs of coffee are amazing..although the dinner was not as up to scratch very bland on a few occasions perhaps a menu change

Beautiful meal, fabulous view and attentive staff.....shame almost empty but shhhhh.....maybe its better to keep a great secret!

On a Travel Zoo deal for 4 people. Seated quickly and given a choice of tables. Sat close to window which is nice to gaze out at the views over Belfast. Given glasses of prosecco and offered water which arrived quickly. Order taken quickly and starters arrived and were nicely presented and delicious. Mains arrived and were very enjoyable as were the deserts. Service was better than previous visits to the restaurant. My only gripe is that the wine is very pricey compared to other Belfast establishments. Overall a good experience and would return.
