Public House, not a lot of charisma but friendly welcome and prompt service. We chose a house burger (brie & cranberry) and haddock & home made chunky chips. Both came piping hot and perfectly cooked (take note Marston & Mitchells!). Good sized portions, priced competitively. Cleethorpes has a lot of pub / restaurants, some better than others. We would come back to this one for the food, but not the character.

Went in last Sunday for a Sunday dinner but when I got there decided to go for steak pie instead. Absolutely superb deep filled homemade pie with thick cut home made chips, couldn’t recommend more. Stayed for a few drinks afterwards with fantastic service from Hayley behind the bar who always has a big smile for everyone. Great bunch of regulars as well, definitely recommend 👍

Been in a few times for food on a weekend and I can't fault it. A nice atmosphere and great food with drink offers on all the shots, also lots of tv's to watch the sports on, a jukebox and a couple of pool tables. I know where I will be going from now on, see you again this weekend 👍👍

A fantastic traditional & family friendly pub. Whether you’re just popping in for a drink or a meal the friendly & helpful staff are there for you. Sit at the bar & have a chat or take a table, play a game of darts or enjoy a game of pool. There’s a small beer garden at the rear that’s a proper sun trap in the summer. What’s not to like ? I highly recommend the Smugglers.

Always a pleasure coming to Smugglers. Full of friendly faces. Recently attended the Halloween party and brought 3 children aged 5-7, they’ve never been to a halloween party here before as we usually do the Linden Club. They absolutely loved it and asked if we can come every year! Staff went above and beyond to make it a special night for the kids, lots of games and prizes, they didn’t want to leave! Thanks to Kim and India for making sure all the children were included and for making it so fun for them all.

Really disappointed in this place after reading the good reviews. My little girl spent all day been excited getting ready for the Halloween party. This place is clearly for locals only, not sure what we did wrong but we was absolutely not welcomed in the slightest, especially by the women dressed as a bride who made it very clear we wasn’t welcome and purposely stared us out! Had one very very upset 4 year old as we ended up leaving after 15 minutes of dirty looks of everyone. we wasn’t the only non locals who made this comment either! Won’t be going back. Whoever you are you should be really ashamed of yourself!!

Kids Halloween party my boy is four absolutely loved it! Lots of welcome, fun party games, free hotdogs music and lots of prizes. Thanks to the organisers xx

Food fresh cooked as needed , lots of flavour great size portions. I have allergies to foods of which the staff were amazing catering for ! A nice small menu. Keep up the fantastic work we will be back !

Had day in cleethorpes popped in for beer and dinner tried a different beer from my normal and was a lovely pint,food was good,friendly bar will pop in next time for a few beers.

Very friendly people and staff. I wouldn't say it's a posh place but it's a good ol' pub.

In need of refurbishment but did nice food although basic. My wife had a jacket potato and tuna mayo and that was all it was - no side salad or mixed leaves. It looked very lonely in the bowl.

Went in for a few drinks on Saturday afternoon with the wife and Grandkids having been shunned at a couple of other places because of the kids. Staff were very friendly, service was great. The bar staff handed out sweets for the kids and made them very welcome. Will definitely be coming back.

Nice and friendly and full of character

Super friendly staff and great value for money vegetarian Sunday lunch. I had mixed vegetables, roast potatoes, mashed potato, Yorkshire pudding and special prepared vegetarian gravy. Highly recommended and will go again, when visiting Cleethorpes.

Great pint amazingly friendly staff with fantastic music selection playing on the sunday night that we visited "Joe the mustache" cannon fiddler extrordinair And Anya behind the bar were a breath of fresh air for me and the crew great night had well worth the visit if your in the area 5star.

I have not been in hear sines Teddy Boy Paddy had the place from the late 80s early 90s.. he was a good bloke. I hear he has a big bup in Brigg Lincolnshire now..all the best Paddy.. hi its Eric's brother... ate Peter.... I also remember when you had the harvest moon and one of them beautiful pint of Guinness

The signs outside said it was a Marston's pub, but they didn't sell any Marston's beer! Nice place though, right on the sea front.

This place stand out of all the places I have ever been the staff are so kind and generous they helped us feed our kids when we came out and our card were declined thinking we had more money than we did but hayley was so kind and generous she fed our kids and I want to say how amazing they are. This place has helped us in our time of need and will.always remember this for their kindness

First time in years I visited this pub which I used to be a regular It was over the weekend at the Cleethorpes armed forces day Clean but what a ripoff on beer 😡 Coors at £4.50 a pint 😡 Or was it a special price for the visitors for the armed forces day 🤔 😡 I’ll stick to the Trading post ! Coors is only £3.20 a pint

I rang this pub to ask if they were televising the game as we were staying at Thorpe park and they refused to air it. I went with 5 boys aged 8-12 and two mums. The landlady immediately said she would sort it out for us with only 20 mins before kick off and we arrived to the most hospitable welcome. Not only did she sort an area out for our group she also set the two pool tables up for two free games for the kids to play. On top of this she brought us free bowls of chips which were home made a yummy for us all free of charge as well as sweets for the boys. The customers who were also in were watching another game and really embraced the boys delight when there team scored and also very welcoming. The pub was lovely place, no swearing just really really pleasant place to take the kids. It's a must for cleethorpes with a 5 star food rating and very reasonable prices. I never write reviews but sometimes you have to . Don't pass this pub by which is located near the life boats... especially with kids!

Service a bit inept and indifferent unless you were a local but plenty of room and ok. No decent draft beers though.

Quitte large pub with plenty of places to sit. Great section of drinks to choose from. Prices were very reasonable and staff were friendly enough. The staff are however, very strict with Drinks not on coasters a member of staff was frantically running around and moving customers drinks on to coasters, would be better if he asked rather than just grabbing the drink and placing on the coaster.

Proper home cooked food 😋 everything on the plate tasted as it should, plenty of it and the staff were friendly, not over priced, would go again and recommend it 😀.

Just had sunday lunch here and I have to say it's one of the best in cleethorpes. You can get a medium dinner for £9 or large for £10 and it's well worth it. So if your hungry and visiting cleethorpes call in you won't be disappointed.

Ordered sunday lunch from here the meat was soft and very tasty roast potatoes nice and crispy and yorkshire pudding was spot on ordered a medium at 7.50 well worth the price will definitely be coming here again great atmosphere

This has to be the best value Sunday lunch in Cleethorpes. Gravy is amazing and the portion sizes are large too. Highly recommended.

I haven't been in here for a long time. But went in the other daytime, nobody else in there but the manager, he was a very nice man chatting to us and very polite. Liked the pub just how I remembered it from years ago, but I didn't realise it had pool tables. Maybe a little drunk back then!

Absolutely brilliant place I'm not usually a fan of pubs but this place is something else, as soon as you walk in you're welcomed by the staff, all of the bar staff are really friendly and will actually have a conversation with you. Already planning a trip down to cleethorpes towards end of the year just to have a night out here to celebrate my birthday.

It just looks like an ordinary pub but the landlord and landlady were very nice to us and the atmosphere was fantastic and the food if not simple was good value for money. I would definitely recommend this fine pub

Went for a quiet sunday dinner but the football team where playing pool and where very noisy not ideal. The food was ok.

Been here several times recently and the food is always great, the staff are friendly and have no problem serving me outside in the beer garden when I was there in the summer. They're also very welcoming towards children. Definitely recommend this place especially for the Sunday roast.

Ceiling is too low, crowd is very young at peak times and the beer is poor.

Had sunday lunch here many a time and its been gorgeous, today however will be my last time for it. I believe there is a new cook , or since my last time there , there is, and unfortunatdly it was absolute rubbish. 2 of us so £20 for lunch . Could of cooked better for cheaper at home slight rise in price since our last sunday lunch . I would of kept old cook and offered a small payrise , wont be going again to eat had curry and chips before christmas that wasnt good either. Come on smuggs you need to keep up your game given the amount of good eaterys there are nowadays, youve lost it.

First time customers for Sunday Dinner and Wow, warm friendly staff, lovely ambiance all round, drinks and Sunday dinners ordered, 1 Large Roast Beef and 1 Medium Roast Beef, we sat down and it wasn't long before we were presented with our meals, from the off, you can tell that everything is fresh, cooked to perfection, and packed full of flavour, no skimping on portion size either, the Roast beef just melted, the Yorkshire puddings are homemade and yummy, , and the Beef gravy is to die for, all the vegetables were cooked perfect, as was everything else on the plate, all in all first class Sunday Dinner. Compliments to the chef/chefs, and all the staff .We will be back, many thanks Pat & kev

A busy bar with a young, fairly noisy crowd in. Sat and watched football on the TV , a pleasant way to spend an evening. Good beer, good staff and a great setting on the sea front. Worth a visit
