Our family had a wonderful time at Smokin Skye BBQ. A terrific end to a full day tour of Isle of Skye, beautiful property, adventurous hikes, delicious food catering to unique dietary needs and warm, delightful hosts. Be mindful of accessibility and open to rugged landscape, but you wont be disappointed and might even encounter some four legged friends. Anita is a wonderful chef and even better hostess!

This was one of our top experiences (not just dining) during our 2-week Scotland exploration. Anita was AMAZING - she made us feel welcome, we had wonderful conversation - and the food was top notch. Allow some time to explore the property - we said it was like our own private secret garden. If you can make a trip to this while on Skye - make the effort as you will not be disappointed. Anita - thank you for such an unbelievable experience!

In an adorable Finnish “hut” that looks as though it is home to faeries & gnomes, we had the best time of our whole trip! Book early so you don’t miss out. Skewers of meat (chicken with herbs or sausages (or vegetarian sausages!), hummus, veggies (I have no idea what the sauces/spices were in these veggies, but I could haven eaten them by the pound & I am not big on veggies!), bread, amazing chocolate with sweet strawberries. And, the makings for s’mores, Skye style! The food is cooked over hot coals by Anita, the wonderful host of the feast. Listen to the waterfall, learn about the area, feast on the delicious food. Simon, our other host, dropped in later & we loved talking to both he & Anita. I cannot put into words how much fun we had & what a lovely end to our trip this was. Trust me, it’s worth every penny. Just book it!

We stayed at Taigh Ailean for our trip to Skye. We also had the opportunity to eat dinner there (Breakfast was included with our stay.) The dinner was so delicious! The view is lovely as you can see the loch from the windows of the bar. All the staff is fantastic and so friendly! I had a great dinner and I would describe it, but the menu changes to suit what is in season and available from the sea. Whatever you get, I guarantee it will be the best! Make sure you call ahead and get a reservation as it fills up quickly. I know that they also have live music, which would be great, but we didn't have any while we were there.

Unit a, Grampian Road, Aviemore, HighlandThis Subway has always been great; extremely friendly customer service, great food (sandwiches at other Subway’s are usually a bit burnt) and just an overall friendly Subway. However, since last year, this Subway has been closed; every time we walk by it is always empty, as in lights never on, same drinks left in fridge ect. You know it’s been closed a while when you see COVID guidelines telling you to wear a mask and that it’s mandatory; as well as other posters and such laying all over the floor. When searched on Google, it says “Temporarily closed”, however, it’s been well over a year at this point and it shows no signs of re-opening. We know some of the people who uses to work there and they just said that it’s “closed”. It’s a shame; the Subway should be sold if they don’t want to maintain or open it. Here’s to hoping that we ever see Subway Aviemore open again — I’m hoping 🤞

Aviemore, PH22 1PN, United KingdomNot as much food on sale as expected. Its mainly clothing and gifts. Deadly silent and not much lighting. Felt like the place was closed. Very expensive coffee bar adjacent to the entrance.
