Smokey's in Down

On this visit I ordered a pulled pork burger. And also a kids fish goujon meal. The goujons,which they call baubles were four in number and came with a small chip and a frozen slush drink of your choosing. The burger was so big and heavy and as I asked for extra bbq sauce became a huge gooey mess. I eat less than half,but more my fault than Smokey's. It is a clean friendly and busy place. Recommended.

Always call if in area. Quite a few carry outs in Castlewellan,including a chip trailer,which pays no rates. Seems unfair on those who pay rates etc. Smokeys is Ajbanian/Italian which means good chips. And it dues not disappoint. I like fish so I had fish balls of fresh cod. They call it baubles,I call it goujons. At £4.50 it is fair priced and delicious. I always like to support them. You will not be disappointed with their kebabs etc. Try it.

This is a fish and chip,kebab and pizza place run by a nice Albanian family. This time I took a single cod at 4.50 stg. I was hungry and found it very good. The batter was thin and crifpy and the flesh was flaky and white. Not too long to wait and I recommend it fully.

Was here sometime ago. Because they close Monday and Tuesday I thought they had closed when I was last in the area. Was very busy this Friday night. Chicken flame grilled in front of you. I ordered marinated and flame grilled chicken kebab on nan bread with house and chilli sauce and salad. At 6.50 its a tad expensive. Chicken lovely. Not a lot of salad. Portion size good. Friendly Albanian boss and other staff. Well worth another visit. Hidden gem. Try it.
