Recently moved close by. Tried it , loved it, will be using regularly. Great food , great staff, good prices. Dined in and takeaway, both quality.

Top quality food from a transport cafe

First time we went food came out separate about 5-10 minutes apart. No big deal could see past it. Day after. We went again. Waited over 40 minutes for food to be served. While we was waiting 3 other tables came in ordered and was served before us. We left before the food came out. Never again. Don’t waste your time or money.

Great food lovely roast dinner or full breakfast

We , three friends , had never noticed this cafe before . Admittedly we are not often in this area but we might now we’ve experienced the meals here !!! I had rib eye steak which melted in your mouth. The onion rings were delicious. I didn’t know what was accompanying it so was delighted to find an egg , onion rings , mushrooms, peas , chips , salad and coleslaw which was lovely . I’m fussy about coleslaw. Fantastic value for money. Staff were so lovely. Place is very cheerful . Highly recommend and I’m so glad that it’s on our radar now. We took cake home as takeaway . My friends had the roast. The empty plates says it all. A really good way to end the perfect day as the weather was good for us too

This place is always busy and sometimes has people queueing up outside to get a table. You can see why when you get your food. I had steak and ale pie, mash and peas. This was definitely homemade. Massive chunks of melt in the mouth beef. I really enjoyed the food. However, the only down fall was being squashed into a table where your elbows are bashing into the person next to you. It is a tight squeeze. The decor could do with an upgrade but it is what it is, a transport cafe. The service was good and reasonably priced for the size of the meals. You can also get take aways too. If you want to sit in and experience the atmosphere then always best to book a table.

Sorry no photos, food was so delicious that we had eaten before I remembered. Great choice of food and the specials board had some amazing choices. The cakes in the chiller are to die for..... you will not be disappointed if you want a snack or big meal, fresh local ingredients too

Visited here 18.2.24 with friends from the camper van club for a breakfast meet the place was busy didn’t have to wait to long for are food which was worth waiting for I had the Hungary mans Breakfast which consists of 2 sausages 2 bacon 2 fried bread 2 eggs 3 hogs pudding beans tomatoes mushrooms and potatoe fritters could not fault anything good food for good honest price would happily use again

Best value food around. Proper sized portions so never leave feeling wanting.

Great venue for truckers. A classic Cornish spot with excellent value for money. The bacon was fantastic. Not so sure about the sausages. I always like my tomatoes in a separate pot so I can choose whether to use them or not. The menus were a bit sticky. Good value for a full on huge breakfast.

As always the food was excellent

English standards. It reminds me of Poland in the 1980s. People here still live in such backwardness.

Excellent fry up and great value!

It was an OK breakfast but nothing more. Components varied in temperature and the fried bread was both burnt and oily at the same time. The cup that the tea was served in had a strange and unpleasant smell.

There's nothing to fault here the food is great and there's plenty of it at a great price

Lovely little truck stop - amazing food with huge portions!

Parking costs £25 including £13 for food. And the food is delicious, large portions. The only downside is that the parking lot is dark and there is no lighting, but it's peaceful.

This place is awesome! My partner and I had a fantastic full English breakfast and it was up there as one of the best we have had. The eggs were not "snotty" Everything was hot. The atmosphere was brilliant, it was like stepping back in time, much more relaxed. The staff were friendly. The cafe was full of customers, a good sign that food is fab there.

If you haven't tried this place I can recommend it the meals are brilliant from a breakfast to a roast. You wouldn't be disappointed.

Hungrymans breakfast was spot on.

The parking lot is small, there are 10 trucks. The cost is 25 pounds for 10 pounds to make any dish from the menu. The territory is not paved and not lit, I thought there would be problems, but surprisingly, it stood up calmly!

Yum yum yum. Great food (I love the steak and kidney pie with mash and peas) with a thick gravy. Great service with helpful staff. I'll be back when I'm in the area.

I travel around the country for a living and have eaten in hundreds of cafes....and this is BY FAR the BEST EVER!! Food is homemade and the portions are perfect! The service is real and friendly. There is nothing bad about this place! 10 *****

Normally, I do rate Smokeys, but today isn't 1 of those days. Payed 9.50 for a sausage, egg, and hogs pudding baguette but only got 1 get and 3 small slices of hogs pudding was not happy. That was not worth 9.50

Hungry? Go here and have the Hungryman's Breakfast! See the photo, you'll not need to eat for the rest of the day! Friendly service and great atmosphere. Good choice of background music too (sounded like my Amazon playlist!!).

proper truck stop with wholesome food. If you have an appetite go large and you'll probably not eat for the rest of the week.

Not at all impressed. Overpriced and very bland. Had a wrap and chips £11. Salad was something out of the 70’s. Shan’t go back.

We moved from west mids down to carharrack in Aug 2023. We went here 1 sat morning cause we wanted a fry up, wow it really is super food and im a "fat lad" and i cant finish the fry ups off really really nice, quality is great, quantity is incredable, cant recomend higher !!

5 * best take away breakfast ever!!! I called in advance then everything was ready fresh when I arrived 30 mins later, place was packed but everyone was happy, great food and staff.

My god, this place is soooo good. We ordered two standard breakfasts at £8 each and we were not disappointed. The sausage is so tasty, bacon crisp, I could go on but just believe me try this place, once you get inside find a seat look at the menu and wait for one of the lovely staff to come and serve you. The staff are very nice. As we have just moved up the road we will certainly be back over and over.

warm welcome, food was hot and plentiful had small roast turkey and boys had fish and chips which was very good value for money....

What a warm and wonderful place for food. My friends took me there for my birthday dinner and I absolutely loved it. Great food, very friendly and welcoming staff, lovely vibe, and I had such lovely company. Brilliant place!!

Excellent all round! Hungryman’s is by far the best breakfast in Cornwall. Food is cooked to order, and hasn’t been sitting around in a hot plate for hours, which does mean wait times are longer at busy periods, but it’s always worth the wait.

Good place to stop over for the night hgv, never had any problems there. Nice food only downside is they make good money because they are always busy but the 1 shower they have there for truckers is very dated and not the cleanest! Hence 3 stars for service.

Smokey Joes is not just a cafe, it's a local institution. It's an old school greesy spoon cafe, with a legendary fry up, and a mug of tea or coffee. The vegitarian fry up was on point, and more than enough for the hungriest traveler. I absolutely like this old school cafe/diner.

There was almost too much choice on the menu. Though there was a small amount of staff, the food came really quickly and was great. Service was great and the price was really reasonable (for 6).

The waitress was walking away even tho we hadnt finished ordering. Had to wait an hour for our food even though others who came in after us had there meals fast .

Such a delightful experience. I had a Standard full English Breakfast. Nice portion (hungry man 😋). The staff were really friendly and nice 💯. Would definitely go back there soon 😉

We have been going to smokys for at least 12 years when we go on holiday there.. the food is all home cooked the portions are ENORMOUS there is so much variety your spoilt for choice

Super slow service from unfriendly disinterested staff, toast soaked in grease and a turkey baguette with lumpy greasy gravy looking like someone vomited on the plate. Even the large breakfast which used to be good here in the past was disgusting. Definitely advise against going there. There are plenty of decent food places in the Redruth area and Smokey Joes is definitely not one of them anymore :-(

I've been coming to Cornwall for many years when someone mentioned Smokey Joes went there food is excellent and not expensive staff are fantastic highly recommended

We spotted it on our way to our caravan on our first day but waited till our last day to go a very bad move because I wish we went in when we see it because the food and staff were absolutely amazing definitely be going back when we come back

Average food and lots of it. There’s no denying that this venue serves up huge portions. The staff are friendly. The venue is a glorified truck stop. The English breakfast comes with a full plate. Dogs welcome.

We love going here, never had a bad meal yet. The roast beef is always a winner with my kids. Good value for money and lovely staff. Plenty of parking!

I have got to say I was unsure about this place by my own admission i'm a bit of a snob when it comes to food. Upon arrival, I thought it was just another greasy spoon, but I was very wrong. We ordered quickly, and we were served a very milky tea and instant coffee, which wasn't to our taste but was swapped without hesitation when I asked for milk on the side. The food wasn't fast, and that was clearly due to freshness and a fact we were happy about. My husbands breakfast was huge, well cooked with a fabulous smoky hogs pudding. I ordered cheese and tomato on toast with bacon and wow. A good, strong cheddar and plenty of it and thick bacon cooked to perfection with homemade coleslaw and fresh crispy salad. It far surpassed my expectations, and I am looking forward to visiting again. I coffee machine with freshly brewed coffee and tea by the pot would be the only things that could have made it better, but this is a place you really, really MUST try.

We stopped here on the way back from Cornwall and were very hungry by the time we arrived. At first look it just looks like a typical truckers cafe so were expecting some really nice food (as they are usually the best). We were greeted with a lovely smile from the waitress and asked what we would like to drink (ordered a black coffee and an orange juice). She then gave us a few minutes before returning for our food order, we didn't have to wait long. I ordered beans on toast and my other half ordered bacon, chips and egg. Our drinks arrived. Mine was lovely - you can't really go wrong with a black coffee. However, my partner said that his orange juice smelt funny and tasted off. He did not complain about it to the staff he just did not drink it. We waited 30 minutes for our food and he was getting very agitated and went up to ask where it was when it appeared. My beans on toast was okay to be fair, again you can't really go wrong (it is not the kind of bread that I would use, but again it is a truckers cafe and they want hearty meals for their long drives). His on the other hand he did not really like and only ate some of it. He went up and paid and we left... To be fair it was quite busy in there and I am not sure how many staff were on in the kitchen. We did wait a bit too long for our meals but the food was decent enough when it came. Would we go again? Probably not but that does not mean that you shouldn't try it yourself.
