Fun place to come with kids. Serving sizes are generous and food is decent and what you’d expect. Kids menu is excellent value with different pricing options depending on how hungry they are, and all include a dessert.

Decided to go for a birthday meal with my family, although i live some distance away it was well worth the drive, food was excellent, customer service was excellent and was well looked after from start to finish, will definitely be visiting again.

Big shout out to Riley who made our night a lot easier. Our daughter has life threatening allergies and we usually avoid meals out as a result. Riley really went above and beyond to make sure our daughter had safe food so we could enjoy a meal with friends for once. Thank you so much!

Five star service, great food as always

We did not stay here but came for a birthday meal which was absolutely shocking!! 3 meals all involving chicken of which 2 of them the chicken wasn't fully cooked!! On talking too a staff member we were given a £3 discount that was it!!! Absolutely no way I'll ever set foot back inside ever again

I absolutely cannot believe that on a £6.95 child's meal the baked beans were served in a miniature paper cup that Macdonalds serve their ketchup in and my 83 Yr old mother gets passed her pills in at her care home!! There were other things but I think I will leave it there. Front of house guy, brilliant!

Absolutely horrendous steak! Would need a chainsaw to cut through it. Not chewable and lots of stringy fat. No flavour whatsoever. I’ve had better at wetherspoons for a third of the price. Fizzy drinks from the machine are very watered down. Had to eat my burger with a knife and fork because the bun fell apart into mush. Absolutely terrible place

Lovely place, with good food and service. Good for families with small kids.

Waitress was busy so couldn't be too attentive. Ribs were sent back because too dry but we're replaced without question and we're much better. Sat near the door which was a bit chilly at times.

I was not impressed at all I came in last summer with several friends and family . And was seated in a dark corner. The service was appalling. I felt really sorry for the one server who was all on his own rushing around all over the place trying to deal with other customers. The food came out really late and was stone cold they also got our order wrong. Awful place would not recommend. Stay away The servers name was Ruben lucas

This used to be a firm favourite but sadly the portion sizes have decreased signifsntly yet the prices have increased. Sadly definitely not what it once was. You don’t get a pot of complimentary crisp snacks to start. Seems they’ve made many cut backs other than the price of everything. The staff however seem as friendly as ever shame it’s changed so much.

Western style interior and wide proper table. Good place to meet friends. Also to celebrate Birthday, as they make sweet congratulations. I enjoyed nachos , pizza. Coffee was not hot.

I had a cheeseburger and home cooked chips and it was plenty of food for me. The burger was great and there were plenty of chips. We were there for a family birthday dinner and everyone had a great time.

Great place for a bit of fun for the whole family. The restaurant was packed when we went just before Christmas but that didn't stop the team from delivering excellent services.( The photo is of my boyfriend's Christmas present from me, unrelated but a bit of festive fun 😉)

We popped in as a last-minute decision and were seated promptly. We had a little bit of a wait for our starters, but they were lovely when they arrived. Mains arrived soon after and were equally as tasty. Would definitely go again.

We went for a family meal at the weekend. Ample parking within the dedicated car park, (albeit tricky to get out onto the busy roundabout, which was no fault of the establishment). On arrival, we were politely greeted and shown to our table. We asked to move, as we were directly by a window with the sun shining quite blindingly through, with 2 of our party being photosensitive and prone to focal migraines. Despite numerous empty booths and tables (which remained empty throughout our meal), we were told we could move only to the table opposite, which was still impacted and so 2 guests struggled through the meal for the first 40 minutes until the sun moved. Appreciate they cannot control the sun... but if a customer is uncomfortable and other tables are available, it would have been nice to be offered a more suitable table. There was a good variety of food on the menu and we were all able to find something we fancied. Children were well catered for, with my daughter being given activity sheets and crayons on entry and having suitable meal options. The food was OK, but somewhat overpriced for what it was (in my opinion). The meal was pleasant enough and arrived hot. The constant, loud, themed music being pumped out while we were eating was a tad off-putting and stifled any conversation. The staff were, for the most part, friendly and helpful, and the restaurant area was clean. The toilets were very poor. There was a narrow, somewhat shabby and wobbly flight of stairs down to 2 incredibly small, damp, dirty, ladies toilets that my child flatly refused to use when she saw the state of the toilet seats and floor, so we had to nip to the sainsburys nearby. Served a purpose as a stopping point for lunch, but not somewhere we would return.

On the edge of Tunbridge Wells, nice inside decor etc . Food was tasty but london prices , full rack of ribs are baby ribs so not very big at all. My food was cold when it arrived , they did take away and reheat . The burgers looked like the best option , everyone on our table loved them .

Great food just the music was a bit loud for Sunday dinner

Yeehah! Great value rooms and breakfast. Top tip...ask them not to put rocket on your cooked breakfast otherwise they'll swamp it with a pile of unnecessary green stuff you just have to shift about. Fun environment too. I had a bedside lamp in the shape of a cowboy boot.

Food was good but expensive, service was excellent, decor was overwhelming and very noisy. we were sat next to a blocked up door that was draughty and cold. Might go again in the summer when less busy

Dry food wait was terrible and not much choice rude staff

Food was nice, overpriced for what it is, but a good varied menu. Service was ok , few mistakes. My main comment is,that the music was way too loud to have a normal conversation, turning it down a notch or two would have made it a much more enjoyable evening.

Poor service, we were a table of 10 for food, in over two hours we weren't asked once if we wanted drinks. Most meal orders were incorrect, most desserts were incorrect and the bill was also incorrect, an error of over £350! Not my choice of venue, I certainly wouldn't eat here if I was making the plans.

Visited on a Monday so was immediately served a free margarita for Margarita Monday which was nice. Friendly greeter and server. Ordered loaded skins with pulled pork followed by the pulled chicken burrito accompanied by excellent tortilla chips. The food was really tasty and large portions. There was a little wait between starter and main but I was reassured by my server that I hadn’t been forgotten about. Very good atmosphere and theming with nice attention to detail in the decoration. A little expensive maybe but not enough to stop me from returning. Would recommend for a fun meal out.

I visited this restaurant in Royal Tunbridge Wells twice at the end of 2020. I parked in their car park and on entering the restaurant gave our car details to the desk staff. I was charged £100 for parking and eating in their restaurant.

Arrived on time for our reservation and was shown our table straight away. That was the good point of our visit. Before we had all sat down, we had a month old baby with us so spent time getting the pram parked and baby out we were given a 5 minute lecture by the waiter on the Covid rules and basically if we didn’t wear our masks everywhere other than at the table we would fined and they get a bad reputation? I say lecture because the waiter was almost pointing his finger at us like we were naughty school children. He then asked if we wanted drinks, as we had only just sat down and lectured we hadn’t even looked at the menu and asked him to give us 5 minutes. A waitress came back, Connie I think nice girl, but we were still not ready, our fault we know but we were talking. She said she would come back. 2 minutes later the original waiter came back telling us we would have to order now as we only have the table for 90 minutes (we showed him the online booking for 2 hours) and he said that’s changed. He was very rude so we asked to see the manager as we didn’t like being lectured by a middle aged, faux cowboy in Kent. The manager was as equally condescending so we decided to skip a starter, ordered mains only, not great but not bad, finished, paid and left utterly disappointed. Will never eat in this chain again.

Went here last night for my fiancé’s 28th birthday, heard many good reviews. However, the service was absolutely terrible, staff diddnt seem like they wanted to be there, the food was inedible and coming from a girl who could eat anything that says a lot. I had ribs and they were raw, and my partner asked for a medium rare steak which was hard it was so over cooked. The chips were soggy and both our our dinners were cold as ice. The milkshakes don’t get me started it was like a glass of milk. We complained to the manager and was still asked to pay full price (£75) for a meal we clearly did not even touch, which we was not happy about what so ever. Do not make our mistake and visit this restaurant, very disappointed especially as it was for my fiancé’s 28th birthday.

Visited for dinner on a Friday night. Starting with the positives, the staff were all excellent. Very polite & great service. My food was very disappointing. I had what was advertised as “Hickory Smoked Ribs”, what I got was cheap, microwaved rack of ribs. Smoked ribs should be tender, full of flavour & fall off the bone. These were the polar opposite of that. These should be advertised on the menu as hickory smoked. I would not eat here again based on quality of the food.

Good relaxed but atentative service allows you to enjoy your meal in peace but you get enough attention your never waiting to long for anything. Far to many restaurants in their efforts to flip tables do so at the cost of the customer experience but not here. Our server Bianca was very knowledgeable and offered up suggestions and what her favourites were. Good call on the sticky toffee pudding that sealed my fate and forced me to go home and take a food induced nap. The food was delicious steaks cooked to order and the ribs juicy and tender and more than we could eat although we pushed our limits. My one disappointment was the milkshake. Underwhelming and basic for its 5 pound price tag and very small. The deserts how ever more than make up for that tiny disappointment and I dont even have a sweet tooth, and the mains were bang on what you would expect for that price. All in all a welcoming family friendly atmosphere socially distanced but still comfortable and we're all full to boot.

It's the boys eigth birthday, it's our duty to eat out and help out so a long overdue trip to S&W this time in Tunbridge. Not been to that branch before and the staff outdid themselves. Our server was top drawer, she was polite, attentive and really did care (table 3 1615). The boys face was a picture when the belly buster arrived. The whole team smashed it tonight, great service all round. And as an added bonus, the wife was jealous of the size of my burrito, and I the size of her rack... of ribs. Thumbs up S&W!!! THANK YOU.

From start to finish this place didnt disappoint. Great service, food and price. Our waiter Dan was amazing! So friendly and upbeat and nothing was ever too much to ask :) It was my birthday and I recieved a free cowgirl hat on the house. The restaurant itself looks great with many different themed seating areas. We will definitely be coming back!

despite the little wait to get in the experience was brilliant. The staff were very accommodating of my autism so were happy to have me and my better half in a quiter part of the restraunt. The staff were also extremely apologetic when they forgot the drinks. They need all the support they can get and the price was reasonable for what we paid and recieved.

Yet another great meal, friendly staff, good theming, enjoyed the country music in the background. Highly recommend the TNT chicken wings, and the steak (fillet) is superb! This was the first time my partner and I visited the TWells S&W having usually gone to the one on Eastbourne Road. Reasonably priced, all in all a great place to stop for grub if you enjoy a bit of Western Themed American food!! A++

First family meal out since lockdown and I have to say it was well organised. I had to book via their website in advance and you are given an hour and a half slot to allow time for cleaning in between sittings. There is a hand sanitiser dispenser in the entrance and we were seated promptly. Our group of 4 had the Cajun chicken nacho plate to share which was delicious (and plentiful) and then we had Steak fajitas, Ribs, a New York burger and a cowboy feast with Cajun chicken. We were too full for a dessert but I really fancied the doughnuts so the staff kindly boxed them up for takeaway, just eaten them in front of the tv at home! All the food was enjoyed by all and the staff were chatty, helpful and efficient and even though measures have been put in place to safeguard against the dreaded virus, it didn’t feel stifling, just a very safe, relaxing environment and a pleasant afternoon. Great job.

Visited on a Saturday evening, we did book in advance as it was really busy. Had a starter, main and a milkshake. The staff were really friendly. The food was great. Really enjoyed the country theme. Will definitely go back.

I visited on a cold wet January at midday for a quiet lunch following a tiring shopping trip. I ordered a main meal and inclusive beverage from the £12 set menu. I have to say the cheeseburger and fries was excellent, nice and hot as was the mug of tea, my choice of beverage. However, when I got the bill, the tea was extra. I queried this and was referred to the selected list of beverages (none hot) from which to chose - tea was not on the list. Fair enough, I should have read it but in the UK, tea/coffee are normally referred to as beverages in most restaurants. I am not a cocktail or alcohol drinker although fizzy soft drinks were alternatives but come on, tired shoppers could die for a cuppa having come in from the rain and the small print following the listed meal was not transparent enough and a word from the server when ordering would have helped!

Came here on the first week of December with some friends for a catch up meal... What a mistake!!!Had made a reservation weeks in advance and can understand its a Friday night, understafffed maybe? We got greeted by a tall chap was pleasent enough got seated and given menus... All went majorly down hill from there.Waiting for someone to take drink order for about 15 minutes!?! in the end I went to the bar greeted by a chap covered in the tattoos and piercings but nice enough but seemed quite sarcastic/cocky. Ordered a couple of cocktails and went back to the table (cocktails weren't bad but had much better). So I ordered hot wings, a cheese burger and a half rack of ribs... The hot wings hardly no hot sauce on the wings (lucky there is hot sauce on the tables but god know how long it's been there). The cheeseburger was a huge disappointment luke warm so we're the fries. The ribs were also luke warm. Due the the disappointment about the starter and main I skipped dessert. Want a decent burger go to Marlowes in town.... So all in all drinks food etc came to just over £50... I felt like I had been robbed but as with friend's didn't want to cause a commotion about it. Can say two thing never going to eat there again and I wouldn't recommend.

So, I'm staying for a business meeting tomorrow, Great room, great parking,No real leadership within the team...but was shown my room and good explanation of what's whatThen about 7pm, loud music in my room...but actually it's from the bar..oh well, I head to the bar,and it's super loud,which is ok in a disco or gig, but guys are trying to eat and drink..Drinks were good, food ok..left for bed, asked the staff if they could turn the music down, nothing. Got back to my room, rang reception, asked the same, maybe they did turn it down, but doesn't seem do ??Such a nice building too ??

I’ve been to smith and western many times before, but this time was a very different experience, we had to wait for our table upon arrival (not a problem at all) so sat at the bar until someone came to collect us, the young chap walked over and snapped “let’s go” no smile, just short and sharp! After being seated another waiter took our order, again, he must of left his manners at home! I’ve always loved the music in there but it was so loud it was difficult to have a conversation with the rest of my table. Two starters were forgotten, and by the time we got our mains it was warm at best, the chilli nachos (which have always been great ) were a dry plate of nacho chips minimal cheese and a very small pot of room temp chilli, we decided against a desert so asked for the bill, we was then hit with our bill plus the table of 6 besides us as they had accidentally merged them, very unprofessional service and it wasn’t really that busy and there was many staff “floating around” I doubt we will be going there again, too much money for bad service and subpar food! Not impressed.

Came across this place whilst looking for somewhere to park in Tunbridge Wells, and decided to go in cos we were too tired to go elsewhere. Boy were we pleased we had! The place is a gem. Great staff, cosy atmosphere and best of all, tasty food. We will definitely be stopping here again.

Decided to have just a two of us dinner while we could this time of year. Booked in advance and able to sit early. Not a great selection of mocktails as I was driving but one I had was ok. Good starter which inc baby ribs, tempura prawns, chicken wings and jalopeno poppers. Decent burrito though a bit wet for my taste. Good kidney beans. Great ribs. Good service too.

The decor is as you would expect a western themed pub restaurant to be, the food however was a average, we had two types of rib dishes with different glazes and one set were dry with little glaze and not very hot, the other set were ok though, the biggest disappointment were the onion rings, great and all stuck together and had clearly been fried in oil that was too hot as it blew most of the batter off bit the worst was the price 7.25 for rings is steep. The servers were lovely though and I couldn't fault the service, would I return probably yes but I wont rush

I love visiting smith and western so I chose it for my family birthday meal, we were not disappointed!My brother and his girlfriend chose the fajitas which came out sizzling and the portion size was excellent. The food they said, was delicious! We also chose the quesadilla’s and a couple of steak burgers which were equally tasty! The food was so filling we eyed up the belly buster pudding but couldn’t face it in the end, so instead I had the marshmallow and cookie melt, slightly disappointing because it was cold but it still tasted yummy! The staff were all friendly and the whole place has a good atmosphere!

As a fellow industry staff I completely understand how busy it can be and stressful it is, but from the get go we were waiting for around 20 minutes for our drinks, when the drinks came they were flat and tasted watered down. Food was fairly quick but was not hot which the food should be when served. Sean thankfully sorted our drinks out but it was 40 minutes until that got sorted. I mean the food was good but the amount you pay is not ideal. Seemed very understaffed which is something that probably needs to be worked on as it is a busy venue.

A family birthday meal, my meal Fillet Steak (Rare) with baked potato, The Steak was overcooked tough and chewy to the point my jaw was aching trying to eat it, the baked potato undercooked with the centre still hard, to accommodate the meal and as the designated driver chose orange juice which was served 80% ice 20% Juice, we raised out complaint with the waiter who didn't seem to care less, at £230 for a sub standard meal i feel ripped off, you cant enter zero unfortunately.

Just had a lovely meal out tonight. Bianca was our waitress and she did a marvellous job looking after us. Nothing was any trouble for her . The food was just mouth watering and we all felt full up afterwards. Five star service to every one there and see you all again very soon

I always enjoy going to smith and western, every single one has consistency, food always comes out in good time, staff are lovely. Amazing cocktails. Good for everyone. Kids love it and the staff always give the kids balloons or a cowboy hat! Met one of the owners one day when she was at Chichester and never met more lovely people, great family business.

fantastic american restaurant in kent. staff are so friendly, helpful and cant do enough for you. The meals where cooked just perfect. they was always cleaning and making sure everything was ok. we would highly recommend this place

Good portion size should probably be a little cheaper for the quality you get but still nice non the less. Waitress who looked after us was very lovely. Ideal place if you fancy a quick filling meal. Has bedrooms but didn’t stay here.

Great atmosphere has a lovely vibe a small slice of the states with country music playing. Very friendly staff good service and the food is extremly good very large portions would highly recomend a visit.

Hubby and I visited here last night for a date night without our two children.

We love this restaurant as a family. We have been visiting for years and have received a consistently fantastic experience. The food is great - cooked well and to your request. Steak is a great choice here. The waiters are always friendly, helpful and genuinely want you to have the best time.

We liked the themed restaurant for something a little different. We were a group of 4 staying upstairs when we dined in the restaurant. Two main meals coming to the table were excellent, whilst 2 Salmon mains had been slightly overcooked and were dry. The restaurant was doing a roaring trade with staff friendly and helpful.

Lovely use of the old Station building - which is what tempted us in for dinner, instead of driving past and dining at the hotel we had booked for the weekend. We were promptly found a table by a friendly front of house, our drinks order was taken, and then it was slow, slow slow.

We came in as a table of 5 adults and a child we were the only table and people in the food was delicious (adult meals) and service was friendly the only two things that slightly let it down was the music was so loud it was hard to have a conversation and the childrens mac and cheese tasted and looked like canned mac and cheese which didn’t taste great and for the price was disappointed!

Fun restaurant with a nice atmosphere however we ordered breakfast and the bacon was underdone and the toast was basically bread. I didn’t enjoy the quality of my food for the price.

This former railway station is now an amazing western themed restaurant. From top to bottom. End to end. It’s lovely. The food is good and plentiful. The service we received was

Good food and provides gluten free. Meat galore and side orders. Good service with a smile and happy birthday sung with vigour!! Loved the place. Good portions and chicken wings were great as a starter for 13 persons who were all served at the same time with the main course.

Came in with a few friends, staff were happy and chatty at the door, our table was perfect, our server was refilling our drinks without asking, and suggested food to us, food was brilliant. Been a few times to the other ones but this one was great, even got chatting about the new one opening near London, will 100% been checking that one out when it opens, even if it’s a quick cocktail!!

Went for a bite to eat with a friend after work on a Friday and we were both glad we did.

Waited over 45 minutes for a standard breakfast when it come out it was stone cold very disappointed!

"service not included" yet on bill stated "service charge" food was alright but basically pub grub standards and beers +pint prices for 3/4 prices.... Won't go again but glad I went at least once

Lovely meal with family, was recommended to visit by our friends who have eaten here on many occasions, staff are dressed like cowboys, restaurant all in the theme! Food & service Brillant. If you have time to have a drink and the bar (and your not too full!!) It looks Brillant. Will Definatly be back, would be great for a birthday meal! Staff were really accommodating when we booked checking we had no allergies or intolerances before we arrived!

Ask for the tnt sauce on your ribs it's great. Our server "Mike" was great and had a very welcoming feel about him. Which we all agreed when we left and were bid farewell by him at the door which is a really nice touch and really makes a difference. Our "bus boy" (who was actually a girl with glasses) was also very smiley and looked happy. Making a big difference to our stay, nobody working their seemed to be displeased to be there. Considering it was December I'm sure they had places they would rather be. I can never remember the "sheriff's" name, but we over heard him talking to our server about our favourite pub in Hastings, was kind enough to sort us out with some exta curly fries free of charge when one of us wanted curly fries instead of regular fries after our meals arrived. The only downside for us was a table next to us had a giant ice-cream for their birthday and when everyone sang and banged cowbells it was pretty loud.

Our family are all from south east . We celebrated my husbands 60th in tunbridge wells . For a treat we had a meal at smith and western. It was amazing staff very helpful and polite such a welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely go back in the new year . Thankyou for making my husbands 60th so special .

We had our Xmas meal here Saturday 15th Dec 2018. We placed out orders, we waited just over half and hour for our starters. After we had our starters we had to wait another 20 minutes for out main course.These where brought out, a few of us ordered curly fries we never got these. We said that we ordered curly fries, and they said would bring some over. This never happened. One of the parties dinner wasn't even ordered, so they had to wait another 10 minutes to get their's. Two of the Steaks were pure gristle and were unedible. Moaned about this and they replied do you want a burger or something. Couple of us ordered puddings. One was an Oreo Sundie. This come out all melted. The person who ordered it said that it had melted and was not right. The funny thing about it was. The person who brought it out even commented that it had melted already. Why bring it out like that in the first place. We asked for the bill, we got this we had paid a disposit. Thios wasn't taken off the bill, so i spoke to them, they looked on the computer and said oh yeah you have paid £60. £80 was actually paid, luckily i showed them the payment on mt phone. I will not be going her again or recommend it to anyone. The service was poor. To top it off they cahrged extra for the curly fries and still never got them. One of the party never drunk he asked for a jug of water. He had to ask three times in the end to get it.

Next door to what is a very good Sainsbuurys, popped in for lunch with the wife. Spotless restaurant, lots of tables. Usual Burgers, ribs, salads. All good size and well presented. £9 each for lunch. Usual drinks. Service very prompt. Will definitely visit again. Left with a full stomach and a very big smile. Great eatery.

Me and mine tried this place on recco from a client recently and while in this area. We were offered a table seconds after we entered, and the very friendly chap took our drinks order while we perused the menu. I ordered the Mississippi Melt with sweet spud chips. Mine ordered the Ranch Rodeo (or the other way round)and fries. Both burgers were very lip smackingly delicious and with slaw and chips, this meal was ample. We felt well looked after before during and at the finish of our meal. And totally feel the staff this day know their job well, thank you very much.

We had 2 rooms, fair size, pleasant meet and greet. Free Parking.

I ventured back here after a few disasters to see if things had improved...... Well, what can I say, greeted by Mike and taken to an appropriate table for one and was given the menu and shown the drink selection and was left to read the menu, within the correct time Mike can to take my order and pulled up a chair so not to make me uncomfortable as a lone diner and took my order and drink repeating the order back to me to make sure it was correct. The drink arrives and shortly after he brought the food, he came to me a while after to check all was ok which was perfect. Finished my meal and beer and asked for the check which duly arrived and was paid. Well done Mike you did the restaurant proud and appreciated the relaxed service with the cheeky but well-meant experience I had. Thanks, Mike and S & W will call back again

We love eating here. The food is delish, the American Cowboy theme is fun and the staff have a good balance of friendly and efficient. Could eat there every day. The prices are ok.

Well what can I say nothing but brilliant comments came here on Saturday with a group of friends and family for my birthday the service was out of this world we all arrived on time and was shown to our table we ordered our starters which came out quick and was tasty we then had our mains which everybody loved and was very happy I'm so happy I choose this place to eat will defo be coming back again thank you all to the team and chefs

Staff friendly, dressed in the spirit and food appeared perfectly satisfactory ober quite an extensive menu there was certainly at least 20 mains I’d want to try.
