Small Dragon in Croydon

Having ordered from this Chinese, I have never ever experienced such a rude lady on the phone, part of our order was missing and she basically accused us of lying and she didn’t want our custom anymore, she made me feel so belittled, we are spending money for a service and to be spoken to the way she did was shocking. Avoid if you expect good service

Appalling meal delivered tonight. Very disappointed and will be looking closer at this take away and will report back. Right now do be careful. Will say more about actual dishes once we ordered shortly.

Our local and regular Chinese takeaway. Always great, speedy, friendly service and very reasonably priced. Recommended.

Very average take away. Not very friendly . When opened food it's was greasy , and sweet n sour chicken balls were doughy and seemed undercooked I'm still in quest to find a Chinese locally that serves delicious food

The delivery arrived on stipulated time and piping hot. But the food is not up to normal basic chinese standards at all.

We use small dragon when we can't be bothered to cook and every time the food is delivered within the hour and always hot and enjoy eating the food. I cannot see some of the comments correct in my opinion,all the staff are very nice as well

The Thai Fried Rice was ok. However the Dim Sum Combo and Chicken Wings were dissapointing with limited meat in the Dim Sum, all I could taste was the spring roll wrappers and the Wings were not fresh and tasted like they has been re-fried. The Veg Spring Rolls were ok but only had 1 type of veg, there was no variety which limited the overall taste. The Bananna Fritters were lovely It's unlikely I will order from here again and this was my 1st time.

I had crispy lemon chicken, it comes with a pot of lemon sauce and was nice. I also had plain chow mein and traditional combo. Plain chow mein could have had spring onions added to boost the flavour. Pleasant delivery man. I have struggled to find a Chinese in Kenley as either the standards have been poor, or they ask you to pay £1 /£2 delivery plus minimum orders £15/£16 - ridiculous if its only for yourself! Whereas Small Dragon was only £13 for minimum order. I will order from here again.

AVOID AVOID AVOID Disgusting food that even the dog turned his nose up at and came 20 mins late. Tofu wasn't even cooked and beef was boiled

Singapore vermicelli and salt and pepper squid were delicious nothing was greasy and massive prawns in the ginger and spring onion would order again

rather small portions of food. not much meat in the dishes. they got order wrong, and we had to wait half hour for replacement, however, grateful for the replacement and mistakes can happen restaurant did try to rectify

Arrived 25 minutes early , and nice food

Great food, generous portions, reasonable prices.

The whole order was very oily, felt as if it was cooked days ago and just microwaved. All the "wet" dishes I ordered tasted the same and not nice at all. Always liked this takeaway and was very disappointed! I will not be ordering again from this place again.

Ive been ordering different chinese takeaways. In comparison, quantity not large like others, send me a wrong drinks instead of regular coke, gave me a diet coke. The delivery man wants me to walk outside and meet him, instead going to my front door.

The food was only warm when it arrived and it was the best quality of for.

Food arrived cold! And the curry sauce had a congealed layer on the top. Won't be ordering from here in a hurry!

Waited one hour and 45 minutes called chasing my order and they were quite layed back and far from understanding the food was great but the service was very poor. Would order from them again but only as a last option.

Another unexpected demand for cash at the door for delivery. Just eat you need to sort this out!!

I ordered a few things for a large group based off JUST EAT near me because today of all days I didn't want to drive so this was the nearest place with minimum requirements at £15 for delivery where some had £20 or £25. ( Man of principle here.. not cheapness but this demonstrates who is willing to get out there and do some business and not require too much profit in my eyes). I ordered black bean chicken (if you cant get this right then there is no hope for your establishment), beef chow mein, spring and winter rolls, prawn curry, crackers, sweet and sour chicken and two portions of beef and special rice. All of these were decent. Not AMAZING but they all tasted good, no hair (the maximum is 5 before you should discontinue your meal and call up to whinge at the Chinese speaker on the other end of the line with a bad line due to no reception). I would order from these guys again. I don't know what Sophetti or Joseph B's standards are but this passes all tests for an acceptable standard of take out. This would probably be 5 stars if I was desperate/drunk. They arrived in 45 mins like they said and the driver was polite. He even came in the company Ferrari 355 to deliver it..... (aka Skoda Fabia 56 plate in silver with 3 hub caps)

Placed order, had an antognising phone call a few minutes later threatening to pay he driver £2 or else my order will be cancelled. Very bad service, will never order from them again.

The food was nice but waited over an hour and was told I had to pay £2 delivery when the di dry man turned up, they advertise free delivery for orders over £13, my order was £17, the delivery guy said it would be free after a few times, this is not what is advertised!!! Be aware!!!

Ordered sweet and sour and black bean. Both sauces were watery and tasted disgusting, vegetables were undercooked and tofu was not prepared or cooked properly. Ordered 8 spring rolls and only got 6. Not good food, but was on time and decent price.

Ordered a take away from here and was shocked at how disgusting it was, the sweet and sour sauce tasted like pink oil, the egg fried rice was boiled and tasteless, everything tasted bad or tasteless and was inedible which shocked me because even with a bad order there is usually something we would eat, there was really nothing we could eat from the order and I never call places but felt compelled to because I'd just wasted around £20 on nothing. Spoke to staff who put manager/owner on who then continually told me it was my problem because I must have very high standards and that no one has ever complained to them (find this hard to believe!), I told him to come try it himself and he said I could bring it back to them to taste but refused to send anyone, told him I was unable to leave the house and he refused to assist in any way and ended up just hanging up on me. I imagine if I had taken it back they would have just denied how bad it tasted anyway as he was adamant it was me and not his food. Absolutely appalled and have made sure I stop others ordering. From seeing recent reviews on just eat list of people have had similar experiences recently! Glad others are seeing what a dreadful place this is and hope they close down soon!

After reading reveiws and seeing mixed good and bad thought I'd give it a go. It's was terrible I would not recommend at all as it went in bin, it was bland cold soggy and just tasteless would not use again waste of money.

For a time, this was my favourite, Chinese takeaway, in South London. The food tastes good, with fresh ingredients. It was run by a sweet, Chinese couple and I could pay using my debit card. Then, things began to slip. First, I discovered another takeaway, with cheaper prices, better taste, and larger portions. Small Dragon still has a locational advantage, being only walking distance from where I work. Also, the competitor doesn't take debit cards. The second slip was the disappearance of the lovely Chinese couple. Did they go on an extended holiday, or are they gone for good? The replacement staff don't recognise me as a repeat customer. Finally, the replacements refuse to accept my debit card, unless I meet some minimum spend. That's the end for me. If you're desperate for Chinese takeaway, in this part of South Croydon, and can't be bothered to go further afield, Small Dragon is ok. But there are better deals out there. I go to Streatham Vale.

Delivery took 1 hr 20 minutes, spoke twice on the phone and they kept saying soon but took ages. Food was ok but not amazing & drink was in with hot food so wasn't cold when I received it... Unfortunately not a good service for me & won't use again.

The customer service was awful No telephone what so ever. The food took 1.5 hours to arrive and it was DISGUSTING!!!

The egg fried was lovely, and the vegetable singapore noodles and the prawns, the seasume prawn toasts where suggy not toasted, the laska soup was disgusting,not a laska soup at all.

Driver refused to leave his car for 30 seconds to deliver to my flat on the grounds there was no free parking. Had to meet him at the road. Worst service I've ever had from any take away. Would not re-use

Always deliver within 20-25 minutes without fail. Food is good. I must've ordered from this place about once a week for the last year, if that's a good enough review. I've tried other places but this is in the top three and I know they're always going to turn up in quick time.

Crispy shredded beef was quite soggy this time round, however the rest was fine!

Ok for delivery time. But food was aweful chowmien tasted burnt. Prawns were way too over cooked and chicken wongs tasted like they had been reheated 3 times !

Picked up our first order after reading horror stories. Food was great and well priced, ready on collection. Our second order, within the same week, was entrusted to the delivery driver and was delivered without a hitch.

First time using this restaurant & I was very impressed all round. I will be using them again for sure.

A reasonable meal was spoiled by a phone call asking me to pay the driver an extra 10p (really guys, come on) and by, despite my instructions, the driver ringing my neighbors bell. when I asked why he had not phoned he smiled and seemed oblivious to my angry neighbor (who has good reason to be fed up). I will not order from them again.
