Slains Castle Aberdeen in Aberdeen City

Really enjoyed visiting here, great location, great choice of cocktails, staff were friendly, great decoration, atmosphere was really nice, lots to do such as pool. Busy but not too busy. Unique toilets through a bookcase. Affordable cocktails loves it here would definitly recommend. If I come back to Aberdeen which I will, I will be returning here.

One of the nicest pubs I've ever seen! Inside it looks like a medieval castle, in fact it is created from a deconsecrated church. The place is very large and on two floors. The cocktails are cheaper than average and also good and alternative. They organize various themed evenings such as karaoke or pub quizzes. You can order via app while sitting at the table.

Had a great evening, drink was well priced and setting was really nice.

Reminds me of Waxy's in Glasgow. Food was basic but priced very reasonably so no complaints.

Good atmosphere. Liked the gothic church feel. Food was average. My rump was perfectly done as asked for. My brothers steak could have been better. Peas were old for sure. Chips were great. Probably needed more staff then would have rated service higher. Decent beer selection

Lovely place grand staff sensible price but took around 8 hours trying to download ap/aps etc to get free drink etc. Sure we did this also our last visit and won't be last to just give up on loyalty "card" thingy

Had a visit here for rare day out with hubby. Was brilliant! He watched football while we played the mixed box of board games he found! Connect 4 and snakes and ladders to name a few! Had the sloth cocktail OMG soooo good!!! Quirky pub and will def be back! Service was great too 👍

Food was nice but staff but the place was freezing! Went there with my sister and her new born baby and 7 year old nephew who conplained that he was cold the whole time.. Which it was! Plus staff were very unhelpful.. Such a shame as the place has such good potential. Have been a few times but the most recent visit will be the last!

Great place for delicious drinks and great music. Cocktail list is reasonably priced and is always great. Highly suggest visiting on an event such as Halloween.

I cannot really write a review about the food as I haven't eaten anything there, just drinks. The place looks definitely different than any other bar I've been to. The drinks were very tasty. Would go there again 👍

Spent the whole lunch/afternoon in this pub (Aberdeen - Frankfurt). Didn't manage to clear the tables, all full of empty glasses, food was okay, but no enrichment, no drinks menu...unique decor

Came to Aberdeen for a work trip this time last year, & I was elated to see the (apparently) only sister of the Pit and Pendulum in Nottingham beside Union St! Had a great drink with friendly staff, would recommend either of these venues if you're there.

Pretty awesome place. It was well worth the visit. The interior is as cool, if not cooler than you'd expect. The Nightmare on Elm St. themed steps are awesome. I only came for a few drinks so I can't rate the food. Plenty of selection for ales, but the only way to order mixed drink is to choose from one of their themed drinks. Which, I wasn't in love with. They were all overly sweet and sugary and lacked any taste of liquor. All in all, it was a good time.

Ordered a traditional breakfast with Beans in separate dish,came with beans on plate.......lorne sausage was awful and burnt,no tattie scone (was on menu) bacon was burnt....No kids breakfast and coffee was cold...staff were too busy talking to friends at bar so didn't bother complaining to them!!

Came to Aberdeen for a local event and ended up in Slains on three separate occasions over two days! Amazing atmosphere, great priced drinks and the food was brilliant. The venue itself is gorgeous and is well worth a visit!

Seemingly lost its spark. Staff were more interested in the TV, phones or discussing who they wanted to sleep with compared to serving. Sport is no longer being advertised so you just have to hope they show what you want to watch. Seem to be like every other bar and catering towards students and not caring about anything else.

Gothic church turned into a Pub restaurant with biblical themed drinks.

It's an interesting place. Get the Burning Hot Burger, you'll see through time. Picture that scene from 2001 a space odyssey.. it's like that. the only burger that makes me feel like I've been physically assaulted. Amazing.

Me and my mates have gone to many bars and had people come offer us shots but none have succeeded aside from sky she was the single best shot seller we spent way more than we should've just because she's so nice. If she reads this I'm sorry I said she was 24...

Cracking place for a few drinks, great atmosphere very gothic in appearance. The cocktails are all named after the horsemen of the apocalypse and the War cocktail is fantastic very sweet and easy way to get drunk!

It's very dark..and eerie and that's the idea! We went early and took advantage of the small plates offer.There was a problem with WiFi for using the app however we ordered at the bar. There was a problem with the price of the wine but this was dealt with efficiently.The food was served sooner than we had been advised. The food itself was tasty and we found the portion sizes good . The pub was quiet but it was sunny outside and early on Saturday! We enjoyed the theme and the experience. Really liked the menu and found it great value .

Food was mediocre at best, can't say likewise about the staff, which was awful as well as the waiting time: 45 mins for a couple of hamburgers and a steak, with the place almost empty. At least beers were ok, meaning we could drink them... Warmly UNreco.

I didn’t have any food and it was first thing in the afternoon that I was there. Maybe that’s why the service wasn’t 5 star. The overall surroundings of the bar are awesome.

Wonderful pub, based on the story in which Bram Stoker had the idea for his book "Dracula" on the real Slains Castle. Wonderfully dark, eerie and mystical. If you like it, you'll feel right at home here. I personally found it wonderful. The prices are moderate and the quality of the food is on par with a pub. There is nothing to complain about. For me, a visit to Slains Castle is absolutely part of a visit to Aberdeen.

Had a lovely meal, reasonably priced. Good rapport with the ginger haired waitress who was very pleasant and kept on her toes as they were fairly busy. Not been for quite a while but will certainly be back.

A good bar with quality food and reasonably priced. However wasted by poor service by bar staff - never behind the bar and just ignore you when you ask to be served. Toilets were absoulutely filthy and most cubicles were out if order. Pity as meals were good and reasonably priced. However wont be back.

Een interessante, unieke locatie, wat ons meteen aansprak. Het interieur is in Gotische stijl, gebaseerd op Dracula. We waren er op een moment dat het zeer rustig was. Je hoort zelf te bestellen aan de bar. Ik was vooral teleurgesteld in het eten. Eerst dronk ik een glas witte wijn, maar was m'n glas enorm vuil. Men was vriendelijk aan de bar en gaf een proper glas. Ik bestelde Balmoral chicken, en had meteen spijt van m'n keuze. De kip zelf was oké, maar het was een bord met puree en groentjes, opgewarmd in de microgolfoven. Tussen de erwten zaten uitgedroogde, zwarte/beschimmelde erwten en de puree was hard en uitgedroogd. Voor mij was deze plek geen aanrader; eventueel alleen om iets te drinken.

Op Drakula gebaseerd. Een echte aanrader en .... tot onze grote verrassing Nederlandse bediening

I've never had an issue in this place. Usually love the food and the cocktails. My mother is visiting today and I've taken her here. My order of chicken wings came out still frozen in the middle. Got new ones but awkward eating when the rest of the table are done. Ordered kids sticky toffee pudding. Got adults and pay for an adults. It paid like it had curry powder in it. Wasn't great. Would understand if it had been really busy but we were the only ones here.

I can only say positive things about this place. The location has a very cool atmosphere as well as a great range of creative and unique drinks. Tonight we spontaneously took part in the pub quiz and it was a lot of fun despite my small team’s score being mediocre at best in the end^^ The quiz master was a very funny guy and he even provided us with a phone charger once we were low on battery. The food was also very good and the prices were fair. Last but definetly not least I want to mention that the kind, beautiful, red-haired lady who did a great job behind the bar might, at least for me, have been one of the highlights of the evening as well ^.^ Which of all those things may or may not have been the reason I visited a second time in my short trip to scotland, despite plenty of other options being available is up for discussion I guess… Whenever I‘m gonna visit this nice country again, I‘ll make sure to plan a stop in aberdeen at a certain church I guess :)

Lovely dog friendly pub in Aberdeen. Food was amazing. Our dog had the chicken and he had it finished in 30 sec. The baked potato with the chicken was delicious. I had the biscoffi dessert and it was great too! Would highly recommend.

Food was good but 35 mins for 4 small tapas plates is too long.

Amazing pub in the heart of Aberdeen city centre, great looking building both inside and out. It's warm and inviting inside with some really unique and historical decor, bar staff are always friendly and happy to help, outdoor smoking area and seating is great, although most of it is currently blocked off due to construction works.

When you order a glass of coke and they put so much ice in the glass it's a ice drink with coke😬 no option to have no ice on the app is really poor paid for two pints of coke then when took the ice out the glass it's wasn't even a half poor poor show

drinks are fab - reasonable price food however, bought cheese bites for £6.49 and only got 3 - came cold aswell - clearly been sitting for a while bought loaded katsu fries, comes with curry sauce yet only covered the first 4 chips… food needs improved one staff memeber messed our order - was grumpy when came to table aswell (ginger and tall) everything else amazing

Possui um ambientação de que lembra muito o castelo do conde dracula. Tome cuidado ao visitar o banheiro pois logo que se abre a porta antes de chegar ao Toilet você levará um susto devido às máquinas de secar suas mãos vai acionar sozinha e como tudo lá é impressionante você levaram um baita susto pois não era de se esperar. VARIAS BEBIDAS E CERVEJAS LOCAIS. WISKY NAO EXISTE LUGAR MELHOR. RECOMENDO!

I used to live in Aberdeen. This for me, was te coolest pub. You have to experience it, I cannot explain. If you like spooky things this is the place to be. I miss not being able to go here.
