Don’t give up if you think the road to this delightful gallery and café is going on for ever; you will get there eventually, and it’s well worth the journey. Paintings by the resident artist reflect the landscape and skies around Harris, and can all be purchased from the gallery. There’s a sense of peace as you enjoy the scones, cakes and drinks on offer, and you can also buy cards and CDs. Highly recommended.

We visited Skoon gallery yesterday and got two takeaway hot chocolates which were delicious. We saw some scones and brownies which looked delicious too.Because it was quiet we had a little nosy in the gallery which was lovely. If you want to sit in at the moment, it is by appointment due to Covid. If you want to view the art work it is probably best to book ahead. There are a couple of beaches outside and the service was very friendly. Will visit again next year.

Visited the gallery/cafe several times during our last visit to Harris and whilst they have stopped serving lunches the coffee and home baking is excellent. Coffee is excellent. Service is always friendly and efficient. Decor is very tasteful and the cafe is always clean and fresh. The paintings are wonderful but unfortunately our house is a building site at moment so not right time for us to buy - definitely worth taking time to look at. Setting of the cafe is stunning and there is a colony of seals nearby.Well worth a visit!

Not long back from a holiday on the Isle of Harris and delighted to have come across the Skoon gallery and coffee shop. Overlooking an inlet on the east of the island, this offers fantastic coffee and delicious cakes in a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The couple who run the place are friendly and welcoming and have put an immense amount of work into creating one of the more hospitable galleries/coffee shops we came across. The artwork is outstanding and captures the character and ever changing colours of the island. The gallery might also lay claim to being the most remote record shop in the country with a great selection of Scottish music - from Scots folk legends Ossian to modern day exponents such as Julie Fowlis and King Creosote. There is no shortage of galleries across the Isle of Harris but you'll be hard pushed to find one better than this!

I've been going to this gallery-cafe for the past 7 years after a recommendation from a friend. In the past they have served lunches, but in 2018 they stopped and now simply sell baking and hot drinks, please be aware of this if you plan to visit: it is simply a coffee house now rather than a cafe. That being said it doesn't downgrade the place at all. The coffee and tea are always excellent quality (I usually go for the Assam) and their scones are served as two small scones with jam, cream and butter, all served in small bowls to avoid the jam/cream first argument. The baking is freshly made on premises, but be warned that the scones are the only mainstay, the others rotate regularly. The place is always clean and has indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are both extremely friendly and they always remember my preferences despite only visiting about 4 times a year. The views are lovely looking over the bay at Geocrab and parking is ample. Whilst you're there take time to have a look around their small gallery, they also usually have one of their larger canvas paintings available as a raffle prize.I highly recommend this for an afternoon tea.

The Café at the gallery of Andrew John Craig is on the nice rough east side of Harris. There are no beaches on this side of the island, but scenic landscape unique to this place of the world. Just a few hundred meters off the main road is the signposted Café. A carpark is just beside the house (disabled parking in front of the house closer to the entrance). The tea, coffee, snacks (fresh made scones!) and soups I had there on two visits in 2017 and 18 very, very tasty. And the pictures all around the on the walls are ranging from flowers on the beach, to local landscapes at the beaches, to expressive dark clouds over dark waters.

The setting of this cafe really is stunning - especially on a sunny day. The art is also lovely to look at inside, along with the fire. We were most impressed with the quality of the catering though - unlike some cafe's - I thought it providing good value for money, especially with how the delicious cakes and coffee were presented and served (ice cream with the brownie etc). Everything seemed to have been thought about in relation to how to do it well - including the sign outside 'dogs welcome at our outside tables' -so much nicer than 'dogs not welcome inside the cafe'. The cafe also has a card machine, despite its remote location, which is helpful.

Stumbled upon this gem of a place while touring round the east side of Harris and in need of a coffee. Beautifully quiet, idyllic spot with amazing views. Marvellous choice of cakes (the Talisker-flavoured one is to die for!!) and lovely coffee. Charming, friendly waitress just completed a super visit. Mental note to self to go back sometime and have proper lunch, which also looked yummy!
