A bit out of the way but a lovely scenic road. The cafe has parking for quite a few cars and is off the road slightly. We both had a lovely cappuccino and Strawberry and Banana Muffin which was very light and delicious, my wife also had the Carrot, Turnip and Maple Syrup soup which was also very nice and tasty. £17 Really enjoyed it and would definately go back. Lovely staff and loads of lovely oil paintings of the local scenery. Nice work guys, top marks from me :)

The reason for saying this is that we arrived half expecting there to be no one here. It turned out that the cafe was full of people and we would have to be wait for a table. Thankfully we could get take-out and, armed with a coffee, soup and oatcakes (delicious), we continued our travels round the rugged island.

Digby Chick

25/07/2018: We were in Stornoway for the day off a cruise ship and had to try Digby Chick based on TA reviews, plus recommendation by a cruise greeter on the pier. My wife had the scallops with chive cream sauce and chorizo potatoes. She thought the scallops were among the best she has ever eaten. I had the seafood platter with a scallop, langoustine, monkfish, salmon, cod and mackerel. All wonderfully fresh and well-cooked. A delightful waitress (Cara) enhanced our visit.

North Harbour Bistro & Tearoom

28/07/2018: A wonderful meal with amazing flavours and textures, highly original and stunning presentation of the food. We had a variety of fish and seafood in our various meals and all were perfect. Desserts were unusual and very good too.
26/08/2018: Recommend by a friend and as we were staying on Harris we booked a table. The Bistro is situated in a beautiful location. We received a lovely welcome and the place was already busy. A very relaxed and casual atmosphere, the menus were written on 2 blackboards. So much choice with lots of sea food, venison, lamb or steak. Black pudding, prawns and chorizo to start, monkfish baha and sea trout with scallops for mains. The food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The waitresses were very friendly and chatty which was nice. We couldn't resist dessert so cheesecake and apple crumble was ordered, wow wow wow. Nice touch from the chef who came round everyone's table to enquire if everything was OK.
