best seafood meal delivery we have ever ate. We had a fish kebab with rice, grilled cod, fried whitebait, grilled calamari and Greek salad. All arrived fresh and was better than fish meal we have had for may years. Top quality and very tasty. Not cheap - but you cannot get such quality cheaply... Service was great too - we have made a mistake with the order and had to phone them - and they corrected the order for delivery without any problem, being professional and polite. We normally buy at Skip Jacks fish and chips (customers for over 35 years now) - but this grilled seafood was so good we are going to order it in the future. Thank you for a great dinner !!!

Chips are delicious, I’ve been here a few times, it would be great if they offered vegetarian battered sausages.

Really tasty chips! I have no idea how they achieve the delicious chips. I’ve lowered the mark as the fish quality has declined. Large fish feels smaller and is so flat like the thinnest fillet and it’s under seasoned. First time I ate here the fish was simply scrumptious. However with the high price and low quality it’s not worth it anymore.

Skipjacks has been a Family favourite for years where the staff are friendly. This time we returned for family reunion and celebration. Between us we had various kinds fish and chips including Plaice Fillet coated in matzah meal, Fish Kebabs, and chips with sides of peas, mushy peas and salads. Served with the Chips big and chunky. The mushy peas are traditional. The salad is rough cut nothing delicate. This is traditional, old school Fish & Chips done well. Accept that and you'll have a great meal.

Uber eats delivery last night. Fried halibut dry and crispy, delicious ! Grilled plaice on the bone , huge fish , perfectly cooked couldn’t have been any more perfect ! Top restaurant quality food delivered on a moped .Chips fabulous . Couldn’t resist a pickled onion . Well it was a takeaway ! Been a customer for 35 years and this was the best yet.

We always get a takeaway but I’m told eating in is always good. Top quality and a tried & tested method. Some say it’s the best anywhere. A v loyal following for good reason. They know what they know and continue to get it right!

What a load of rubbish. Bought a portion of chips. Apart from 2 proper fat hot chips, all the remaining portion was cold dried up small scraps. Absolutely disappointed. Even the wooden fork the lady gave me couldn't poke them. Had to use my hands and throw most of them away. Been coming here for 30 years. Never again. Good job you're shutting fir the holidays. Serviing horrible, cold food. Shame on you lot.

Went again last week for a take away, this place is the best for fish and chips, been there so many times when I lived in Kenton, now I have a home on a seaside, rubbish fish and frozen chips

Found Skipjacks through the National Federation of Fish Fryers directory and saw that they had a quality mark for award winning fish and chips. So when we realised we could come home from a trip out via here we stopped off and wasn’t disappointed. They have a takeaway and a restaurant, which is decorated in a very traditional way. So when you order your food it comes fresh from next door. The chips were done perfectly and the Cod was incredible, perfectly cooked and beautiful large flakes of fish on the plate. We also ordered childrens portion of fish fingers and chips, which was above what we would expect to pay for a toddler portion (£9.90) however their ‘fish fingers’ was again beautiful white fish accompanied by their chips. The quality here is miles above what you see from the majority of fish and chip shops in cornwall, and of the high standard you might see next to the sea somewhere like cornwall. If however they wanted to elevate themselves they could make their own tartare sauce and not charge £2.65 for a cup of tea! But that’s the only things. If a competitor reads this and wants to know how to compete, so some courses with the national federation of fish fryers and you won’t go wrong. Worth travelling to eat.

I have not been here for 25 years as I moved to south coast, I had to come back to Kenton to check all my properties rented out with Harrow council, fish and chips are still like in the old days, beautiful, will get another take away next time and eat it in wives car so she has to clean the grease up

I am so upset to write this review. I ordered ribs, chips and fish for an early Friday evening meal with my hubby . The ribs were completely inedible. They were tough and tasteless as if they had been incompletely cooked. I rang the restaurant several times but couldn’t get through. I ended up starving. My hubby fish was just ok the chips we shared were ok but we’d ordered medium and seemed to get a small portion. I think to send food like that out is careless and unacceptable. The number of times I have been disappointed used to be infrequent at Skipjacks but now inconsistency is the norm. That’s almost £50 including delivery costs. Money wasted. I won’t be doing that again.

Visited as local closed - not disappointed. Had the Fish soup, very fresh and tasty. Fish noticeably more expensive now but worth it, very well cooked and tasty, fried cod and grilled plaice fillet. Small chips very nice and the Greek salad, mouth watering and exuding lots of Feta! A very nice meal and fully satisfied. Service excellent!

As a long time fan of Skipjacks this was our first visit since lockdown But we chose to celebrate my birhtday on a day restaurant was closed but take away open. The lovely man hearing it was a family outing to celebrate my 86th birthday said ok, just come. And we had the usual high quality fish and chips, not to mention delicious whitebait and mezze. Plus good icecream with wide choice of flavours.

I popped into Skipjacks after a long time. I think a paid more then average price for a cod, chips and 2 saveloy, The fish was overcooked and rubbery, the only think that was good was the chips, the saveloy was cold and didn't taste meaty at all. I think I won't be going there in the near future.

The place is trading on it’s previous reputation. The chips are not bad but everything else is average. The batter is too thick on the fish, the grilled fish can be good but the standard is not consistent. On the last occasion it tasted off....

This restaurant and take-away has been around for years. Consistently good and extremely reasonable. Massive portions and always top quality. Very unpretentious but the best fish and chips anywhere. Have recommended to many friends who feel exactly the same.

I've moved to Brighton recently and whenever I'm in Harrow, I have to visit Skipjacks. I love their grilled plaice and Greek salad. IT's so lovely that they remember me whenever I go back too. I feel gutted that there's nothing like Skipjacks in Brighton.

Parking nearby can also be challenging at any time due to plethora of restaurants in the area. Very impressed by the grilled halibut in garlic. Excellent Greek salad and the chips were o.k. This is my local fish and chip shop; I live 2 minutes away!. I have been coming here for 20 years. It has always had a good reputation which it has upheld over the years. The staff are so friendly and always look after me. I have tried many different thinks here, but my main meals are either battered mushrooms and chips or cod and chips. I love both. They give good portions which I can never finish - Even the smallest portion of chips is too big for me, and I love my food.

This is not just “fish and chips” but a solid down to earth fish restaurant. Yes they also serve the usual battered stuff, but the grilled Halibut, Dover Sole, Baked Sea Bass, Cajun cod etc. makes for something different and is better quality than most of the fine dining places in central London I normally review that cost double the price for half the portion. The decor is pretty basic but the place is popular so some evenings the queue can stretch down the road and the staff do sometimes get overwhelmed.....Personally, I prefer to have lunch here and food is always well received by my guests. You will see from my reviews I dine at a lot of restaurants and I have to say the food here is up there with the best of them, take a bow Skipjacks.

Not visited for a few years as moved out of the area but still the best fish and chip restaurant and takeaway I've been to and the standards haven't dropped. If you are in the area is well worth a visit. Tables are first come first serve and Fridays are always busy so might have to que but will worth the wait. Highly recommended.

On a cold Friday evening after work we fancied some fish and chips. Skipjacks is local to us and we occasionaly queue up in the busy take away but tonight we thought we'd eat in. We arrived at 6pm and it was just us with 1 other table occupied. We ordered 2 x cod and chips, 1 mushy peas, 1 onion rings and 2 soft drinks. The portions were good, the fish chunky and delicious, chips were good too. We finished and were ready to leave around 7.15pm and by now the place was half full. Apparently it gets really busy around 7.30-8pm. It seats around 50. The staff all men were polite, friendly and efficient. The bill came to just under £37 and with a tip on top we decided that it was something we wouldn't do too often but as a little treat occasionally is fine.

We are costumers of Skipjacks for decades now. When you enter you smell the sea. It seriously transfers you to a seaside despite its located miles away.

Where do I begin? This is a high standards seafood restaurant and more. The fish and meats are always fresh and cooked to perfection. The service is admirable and the owners are wonderful, friendly and open hearted. George and Crysoulla are just wonderful. The staff are very polite, efficient, knowledgeable about their food, ingredients and cooking process. Everyone in this restaurant and next door to their take away are professionasls with years of experience. They have an extensive experience on how to prepare a high quality fish and run their business. Their menu includes a large variety of fish, cooking options and some meaty treats. You can have butter or matzo which are very tasty and light, homemade tartare sauce, grilled or fried seafood, salads, kebabs, chicken and spare ribs. Their apple pie and vanilla ice cream is so light, full of taste, apples, raisins, cinammon. They have a nice selection of drinks and coffees. High class quality seafood and meats. Highly recommend.

We've just been v disappointed with a late supper of half a skate wing, (not the full portion that we paid for) and very watery mushy peas. I'd given them a chance after noting their inconsistency - sometimes the food is amazing, at other times it's very poor. We've foolishly given them the benefit of the doubt even though we've been very let down. I've been 3 times this year. Today the quality was just insulting. We ordered this meal before and it was great - at the prices they charge, you expect the quality to be consistent. We've given up on them!

First visit to Skipjacks for lunch with two friends today. Had the fish cakes. My only complaint - they were too big and I could only manage one! Took the other home. Best fish cake I have had. The portions were extra generous and I think next time I'll have to share! I could not select a rating because none of the options worked when I clicked on them!

I've been to the restaurant around 4 times. Each time I came the fish and chips were lovely, fresh and crispy. However they always have way too few waiters in the restaurant (normally only 1, rarely 2). It takes ages to call someone over to ask for something, and often they've forgotten my order because they've got so many other orders to think about.

Friday we decided to treat the family and friends to dinner, we had been using skipajacks for years. We had a large order and on arrival home we did not have the fish. We called and they apologised for their mistake but said "mistakes happen" I was shocked to hear that. But they agreed to replace the fish as they had another order going by taxi and they would send the fish in the taxi. They advised we should have it in 15 mins. Half an hour later we received a call from the driver who told us he was lost. We provided directions to receive a call a couple of mins later to say he was outside no 34. We live at 20 the other street down. The driver asked us to walk to him for our delivery. We advised no and he needed to deliver it. Finally the taxi arrived but the fish was cold and the complimentary chips were Luke warm. I called to speak with a man who I found to be very rude and would not let me speak and kept saying that mistakes happen. He then told me that he has been working there for many years and doesn't know how many years he will continue. This has nothing to do with me. I will never buy from here again as if something goes wrong they are very rude about it.

Went for an early dinner with nana, my lot, the head boy and the girl. My family have been eating here for years and the owner has been frying fish for nana for 28 years. It's always the same staff who know us and the food is always amazing. Tonight was no exception and all the fish was fresh and hot and tasty. The kids especially enjoyed their cod goujons and I had plaice goujons. The others all had cod. The chips were lovely and cooked just right. It started to get busy when we were leaving which was good although my lot all showed impeccable manners and sat quietly being polite for a change. All in all this really is one of the best family run fish and chip shops in London. I'm sure sometimes the staff get overwhelmed by the customers and it can cause issues but they don't deserve some of the negative reviews they've had on here. Go get a portion and see for yourself.

This is my Friday night chill, after a long hard week at work, this is the place I like to start my weekend with family and friends. The place is always packed but you can't book, It's worth the short wait. I just know the food is going to be excellent. The two guys there run themselves silly just to please. I love their wonderful fish soup, followed by Wing of Skates, chips, coleslaw and mushy peas. Irene and Roro normally have the Goujon plater cooked in matzoh meal. Called up at lunchtime to book a table for eight people for 7.45 pm. Booking was taken. We turned up on rime to a packed restaurant and was told that there was no booking and in fact they do not take bookings!! That is ridiculous as they were happy to take my booking. Manager said he wld try get us a table, but that was a nonsense as none of their customers looked as if they were leaving. Very disappointed with the way we were treated!!

Skipjacks has been there for many years (I remember going back in 2005!) so they must be good usually.I had an order of battered mushrooms, medium battered cod and medium chips. Plenty of food to share between two. The chips were fantastic. Not greasy and tasted like real potatoes, not like the oil they're cooked in, which I know some places' chips taste like. Big thumbs up there!The mushrooms were pretty good too, I felt they perhaps needed more batter because it was quite thin. They've got a lovely light garlic taste to them which I wasn't expecting but was delicious. The fish however really let the experience down. It was chewy and tough. Seemed like it was well overcooked. I wonder if that's because it had been sitting in the warmer for too long. The service was good, they were pretty quick considering it was a Friday evening and the older lady at the till was positively friendly. Perhaps I just got the piece of fish that had been there a while? If this fish had been good, I would've given a rating of 5. Like I said, could just be a one off since they're clearly well established in the area.

Skipjacks is one of the two best fish and chip shops in North West London. That the queues can sometimes be insane is testament to its popularity.The usual fare but of greater quality than most will be used to. The haddock is amazing and if you don't fancy fish then I highly recommend the spare ribs. We sat in the restaurant on a Friday night. Was really busy when we arrived but they managed to accommodate us. They are licensed which is fab! Great selection of fish but I went for traditional battered cod. Portions are huge! Fish was amazing! Great friendly service. Good value! I don't eat fish, although it always smells wonderful, my go-to dish is their ribs.It's always a good portion size with some left over. They make the best chip shop chips anywhere I've eaten, and it doesn't need anything on it.I've eaten in once, and found the tables to be a bit close together, normally I just use the takeaway.Staff are friendly and service is very good.

this is a superb quality fish restaurant, the standard is very high, little on the expensive side but fish has gone up, the taste and quality of cooking is amazing, the staff are great, always rushing but as it is always packed and you cannot book they make sure you dont have to wait too long. The takeaway section is always busy and they do the cooking for the main restaurant, so it is always on the go.We just wish they would change their chairs.............you come away with a full and satisfied stomach and chronic back pain!!!

This place is known as the best place for 'chippy chips' but it completely let me down. Came in and was sat down and when ordering was told that all the vegetarian items aren't available which doesn't help a vegetarian and was also told that there's a £10 per person minimum order which he said was fine as there weren't any main items to order for us. Got a portion of chips and mushy peas purely because we came in and didn't want to just leave. They were okay, nothing special. Would just get a chips in the take away section next time. Wouldn't go to the restaurant again.

A cold wet week day evening found this restaurant absolutely packed so anticipation High as our companions are regulars I noticed that sardines were on the menue and as these are favourites of mine I ordered them grilled as a main. Unfortunately they were not up to my expectation or tatste so I gingerly informed the waiter Not a problem and they were swapped for a portion of beautifully cooked battered cod which was deliciousand a further portion of chips Despite our offering to pay for the sardines they were not charged for. For what it's worth stick to the fried or grilled regular fish and you will not be disappointed, as good as it gets

We unfailingly eat superb quality fish at Skipjacks. They buy their fish from the best sources and it tells. Grilled plaice on the bone is always first class and chips match the standard of the fish.

Skipjacks has been going for years and you'll always find a queue out the door on a Friday evening. Finally, I got the chance to get in there and try for myself and boy oh boy, the best fish and chips I have ever had. From the moment they take your order to delivery, you can sense these guys care for their customers. Shame about the queue but if you want the best, its worth the suffering.

They take telephone orders for takeaway if you are ordering Matzo or grilled fish, otherwise line up and join the queue. The restaurant is frantic but the quality of the fish is unsurpassed.

Service was a bit iffy in that the two waiters were clearly rushed. Still friendly but rushed. Couldn't understand some of the menu pricing in that there was a difference in pricing between some of the grilled fish and some of the fried fish. But can't get away from it - the fish was excellent!

Been going here regularly for 15 years. All the staff have a great rapport with their customers. Kids often get a few free chips whilst they wait with their parents. Haven't strayed beyond the fish options (why would you?). Might be considered a little pricy by some but I personally consider it absolutely worth it. Could do with another waiter/waitress in the restaurant on a Saturday. The two waiters work flat out. I know a lot of people travel afar just for this place. I have not been here for a few years and had forgotten how good it is. There is nothing to touch it in the vicinity.The fish soup is obviously home made. it's not full of bones, as so many are, but flavoursome with much actual fish. The oven baked bass was whole ( as requested) as filets are dismal, with a crisp skin that one could enjoy. My wife's avocado was , again, a whole half and properly laid out on the plate.Our companion's chips were crisp and decently cooked. Almost unusual for a fish restaurant!We shall certainly return.

When we lived in middlesex we regularly bought take a way from here, hooked on haddock we were and loved it. We then moved and often reminisced and drooled over our memories . 6 or 7 years later we found ourselves in the area and queued up eagerly waiting to renew our taste buds. This is the second time we have visited the restaurant, and can honestly say if I lived within the area I would quite happily be a regular here.. we travelled nearly an hour to come back on our second visit its that good. Andy and the team are superb and nothing is too much effort. The fish and chips I had were to die for! if you are reading this, I recommend you visit and try the food.. you wont be disappointed!

Quality fresh fish, cooked in tasty batter in quality oil giving it a lovely golden finish. Traditional thick cut chips which are cooked perfectly. Very good portion sizes, Also do kebabs, ribs, chicken and sides and always tempted to have a saveloy for the trip home. Can dine in or takeaway, be prepared to queue for that take away at peak times, it is a popular plaice. Pun intended.
