Veg shamme kebab veg sheekh kebab had malai kofta are supposed to be different dishes. But they were same Shamme kebab and sheekh kebab come with gravy malai kofta was in red gravy horrible food no taste imagine being served the same dish thrice. Moreover the staff non apologetic rude and abusive. It’s a restaurant meant for Britishers who don’t want dishes taste like not for Indian who knows there food

This place looks more like a cafe than a restaurant. But don’t fear to enter! The service is faultless and the food exceptional. We have eaten Indian food all around the world, sometimes at 5 times the price, and this one is right at the top of the list.

Not the run of the meal Indian ... do not let the lack of meat put you off, great food extremely tasty and so refreshing to have such a varied vegatarian and vegan menu. We will def be returning.

Absolutely divine food. Can personally recommend the Gol Gappe (Pani Puri). A lot of Indian restaurants clearly cook using one base sauce which is bought in, but this is absolutely not the case here. Clearly the chef(s) have been brought up around this cuisine, which exhibits itself in the quality of the dishes. I note some of the negative reviews are personally insulting towards members of staff, which I feel is unacceptable given the restaurant is family run. Think twice before writing such distasteful remarks, because an offhand, unqualified insult may actually be directed at the owner's son or daughter. My personal experience has been unfailingly kind and attentive customer service. Thank you very much for the delicious food and my partner and I will be back again soon!

We came across Singh’s restaurant by chance when we visited the Gravesend Gurdwara last Sunday. We had pronteh, onion bhajis and spring rolls. The food was hot, tasted great, and finger licking. It came with all the sauces you would expect. My 2 youngest children don’t normally eat this kind of food but they woofed it down. Reasonable prices as well. It’s a shame it costs us £5 to cross the Dartford tunnel every time otherwise we would make this restaurant our regular lunching spot. We definitely be back soon though!

Very helpful and attentive service and a wide menu which we were guided through. The food is fresh and made as hot or not as you wish and any likes or dislikes catered to. The food we chose was, in hindsight, a bit conservative so we shall go back and try more adventurous dishes and share (again) so we know for the time after that! We visited this place today and it was expensive, which you would not mind if the food was any good. I ordered the sarson ka saag, this tasted like it came straight out of a tin, the Amrisaria Channa was the same, in fact even the Chinese noodle my daughter had tasted bad. If you aren’t sure what to order the staff will guide you through the menu and you even get the choice of heat ( mild, medium or hot) for each dish. The food is fresh and delicious and the portions are generous. The dishes are filling and you actually don’t miss the meat. The naans are to die for (especially the peshwari)! Specifically searched out a vegan and vegetarian restaurant and thankfully, this restaurant exists for the more conscious eater and those who are curious about trying meals without meat. What you can be 100% certain with at Singh's restaurant, is as soon as you walk through the door, you are greeted like a family member. Our host was genuine and she was incredibly knowledgable, providing us with recommendations. The food was spectacular, cooked with care and attention and quite frankly, more than enough. How wonderfully seasoned; the chef was spot on when I asked for 'spicy' and my mum asked for 'medium'. We will be back again in a few short days and I've already been on Twitter to ask my friends to support this restaurant. You won't be disappointed and even better, the price is incredibly reasonable. See you soon and thank you for today. Dr Doharty and Ms Young :-)

SO. my family and I tried this place for a change . BEFORE I START .. my review bases purely on taste /favour of actual food. My family and I are all well travelled and love Indian food due to fact that it bursts with flavour ! This place food is disappointing!! I tried the mango lassi ,all I tasted was flour mango and water as def wasn't a lassi , each one of our dishes was just OUTRIGHT tasteless... no salt no spice even though we asked for mild ...just food lacked flavour ! No spices which you expected from Indian food. I have travelled to Indian and had veg/ food there and comparing tbis to other Indian restaurant this by far then then had least amount of actual flavour and taste, non of us enjoyed our meal yet alone proportions were a joke ! Parking is a problem you got pay to park ! Or walk abit as there next to no parking near by .. so as as local good luck on weekends being able to park as immediate roads are permit holder only .I sure we will not be returning , not worth trip. Hassle parking or swallowing .Good points :Nice layout ,decor.

We went on a Saturday and the lunchtime buffet was all vegan which consisted of naan bread, salad, pakora, rice and three curries. They also have a full menu and most things can be made vegan. The buffet isn't always 100% vegan as it sometimes has a paneer dish but the rest of the buffet will be vegan. They have sweet Indian treats, some of which are labelled vegan and they also offer fresh fruit smoothies. The waitress was lovely and friendly and we spoke to who I presume was the owner and she had a great understanding and knowledge of vegan food. Very reassuring when not eating in fully vegan establishments. Will definitely go back!

Visited Singh's restaurant for a meal with my father chose the lunchtime vegetarian buffet option, a decision we would soon regret.- Selection on the buffet was very poor with half the buffet empty. - Food was lukewarm. - Plates were cold.We complained to a mature man who seemed to be the owner of the restaurant, who informed us that this was the first complaint he's ever received about the temperature of the food. He insisted that the temperature was periodically checked and passed a recent EHO check. He offered no discount on a meal which we felt was overpriced anyway. And on payment the bill totalled £20.90 and they had no change from £30 in cash. Wish I had read the previous honest reviews and not the clearly overwhelmingly positive reviews. Will not be eating here again EVER! The experience was so bad I had to download this app and write my first ever review. Think twice before eating here...

We have just finished eating at Singhs and I have to leave a review of how much I enjoyed it. The waitresses were so lovely and friendly, as soon as we entered we were greeted and shown to our table, once we had sat down the menu was explained to us and we were asked if we had any allergies and about any dietary requirements. I stated I was vegan and they gave me lots of recommendations for vegan dishes and offered to alter any vegetarian dishes if I would like. We tried the shared platter which was great, food was so flavoursome with lots of spices. We tried a few dishes for our mains and they were just as delicious, we were asked whilst ordering about our preference for spice/heat and they did a fantastic job catering to our tastes. After we had finished, the girls gave my partner a few complimentary samples of the puddings which he said tasted great (I was way too full up by this point to try, but will definitely try next time) I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and will most definitely be returning in the near future. Just when I thought I should give up on Gravesend (was it because it was a Tuesday, something about the route I walked through Gravesend, or had I discovered why they'd given it that name?), I suddenly came across Singh's. It wasn't very preposessing, looking more like a simple cafe, but something made me stop and go in. I'm glad I did. I let my menu be guided by the host - another good idea. My starter, Singh's Tikki Chatt, was the highlight of the meal - soft, potato-based filling, with a lightly crispy crust, topped beautifully and on a yoghurt and tamarind sauce. I followed that with an aubergine dish, mopped up by a couple of chappatis.Having now found Singh's on Trip Advisor, I took the recommendation of all you lovely reviewers and bought a couple of the sweets to take back to my hotel. I'm looking forward to trying them as soon as I've boiled the kettle.

The food came after about half an hour and it was Luke warm the food tasted very mild and not salty and the taste was absolutely terrible. However as we were hungry we had no choice but to finish the food when we left and paid the astonishing bill which was very overpriced and the lady who was serving had the nerve of charging me for using my debit card. The mains we had was the vegetable curry, the aubergine (banghan bhartha), malai kofta. All were really delicious with the rice we ordered as well as the naan(must say their naan was light and tasty and unlike the norm at Indian restaurants). My only sadness was to find they didn't actually have masala dosa even though it was on their menu online. I came to Singh's recently for a meal with my girlfriend's family. We have been here before and have always found the food and service excellent, and this was no exception. It is a great choice for family meals as it has a varied menu and most of the dishes work very well for sharing. To start we ordered the vegetarian platters, which contained a really tasty mix of samosas, pakoras and other deep fried bites. All of them had fantastic texture and flavour and were a real pleasure to eat.For our main courses we ordered a mixture of the main dishes, rices and naans, all of which were excellent. In particular, the Biryani was very good, with the crunchy onion bits in it really contributing to the texture and contrasting well with the softer rice and vegetables. The butter paneer massala is also my personal favourite dish, it is creamy and a delight to eat. All of the dishes however were very good and offered a variety of flavours. It is good that you can choose the level of spiciness for each dish as this makes it great for large groups where people may have different tastes and means most dishes can be made suitable for kids. The staff at the restaurant are extremely attentive and you are very well looked after. The service was quick and the staff all very friendly and keen to ensure that we had a good meal. The main advantage for Singh's from our perspective is that it is a vegetarian restaurant. Much of my girlfriend's family are vegetarian so thi means that when we go there they can choose from all of the items on the menu and do not have to worry about what might be in each dish. This is really unique and as a meat eater I did not find I missed the lack of meat at all, the vegetarian dishes were just as flavoursome and well-textured as any meat dish I have had and in many cases even better.Overall this was a very good value meal with great food and attentive service. A very enjoyable restaurant for a family meal and I would highly recommend a visit.

Don't get me wrong, I love Singhs as a sweet shop and being a local business I totally support it. When it comes to sweets one cannot beat the quality nor the taste. When it first opened I was glad that I do not need to travel all the way to ilford or southall for Indian sweets and I am happy that Singhs has maintained the quality so well. The street food though a bit on the expensive side tastes good specially the aloo tikki chaat which I suggest you must try if you are visiting Singhs. My problem is with the food specifically the curries. I am not comparing the food to British curries, I know that Singh' advertise themselves as Punjabi cuisine and that is exactly what is is. Coming from a Punjabi family I am quite familiar with the cuisine and the food taste quite similar to what I cook at home. So what is the issue? Well it is that exactly, it tastes like home cooked food. There is no mystery in the recipe. If I am eating at a restaurant, paying four times what I would spend at home to cook a meal then I need some kick in the food, something extra in the recipe, which no matter how hard I try I cannot cook.I cook chips/ fries at home but it does not taste the same as Mc Donalds so I still eat there and you think it is a simple recipe to cook chips but Mc Donalds have made a recipe to give a unique taste. That is with restaurant food, you need a different and better taste than your home so that people return. Why would anyone want to spend money eating out when you cook exactly the same at home. I am not criticising the service which I think is great, the owners are decent and very friendly people but you got to ask that why the restaurant with so many positive reviews is still not doing well. And please don't say because its vegetarian, there are a lot of vegetarian indian restaurant in Uk doing fairly well.Personally, I really want Singh' to flourish, I really hope they concentrate more on street food which they are really good at or try some better recipes.

I would certainly recommend this restaurant if you are after quality and varied vegetarian fayre, and want a taste of homemade Indian cuisine.I visited this place with my Dad, for an impromptu meal out, and neither of us regretted it. We left with palates and bellies satisfied, feeling as though we'd just been invited round for a Indian friend's house for dinner. This says a lot, given that we know a thing or two about the food and hospitality of India itself.Portion sizes were good, it all tasted very fresh, was served quickly, and all was piping hot.The waiting staff and owner were eager to please, and treated us like family. Warm and welcoming hosts which again, contributed to that feeling we were in someone's home.Would love to go back if I'm in the area.

This place is for people who are looking for freshly cooked homemade authentic North Indian food made to choice of your spice level. Two of us had a meal here last night 2 starters Samosa Chat, Mixed Pakora, Mains Channa, two Bhaturey (Chick pea curry and special Bread) Aloo Gobhi Masala (cauliflower and potato dish), Daal Tarka(Lentils), Chilli and Garlic Naan, Jeera Matter Rice(Rice with cumin seeds and peas) Portions are good size. Food was absolutely delicious and prices were good Our bill came to £27.69. Which is very reasonable and service was spot on. No Delhi Belly next day!!! Food was served in comfortable timings. Staff were friendly. Lovely ambience, good music and no horrible cooking smell lingering. We will most definitely be visiting with family and friends soon.

After reading about this place online and being a vegetarian and massive Indian fan I really wanted to make the 55 mile trip to try this place after reading all the excellent reviews. I don't wish to give this place a bad review but it wasn't as excellent as I had hoped and read about. I wasn't sure how busy they would be so booked a table for two on a Saturday at 2pm, at that time there were only 2 other tables which shortly left. We were served by two really timid twins which were actually on work experience from college but they were really pleasant and attentive. We were offered the buffet which I had a look at but decided against and we're then offered recommendations or explanations of the menu by the owner which was a nice touch. I ordered 4 main dishes and a cornbread for two to share. The dishes were approx 5.90 each and the bread 2.75, I felt they were quite small dishes compared to many other Places I've visited but food came out within good time and was unusual and not like other curry flavours I've tried, we chose to have the dishes medium heat and they were all pleasant and homely tasting but more sauce than substance so nothing fantastic and all but the Paneer dish I couldn't really put my finger on what the dish actually was. I wouldn't order the bread again as it's very hard and not useful at mopping up the juice! Our plates were cleaned and we were offered Pudding straight away but I opted for a takeaway box of sweets as there were plenty to choose from and we were given guidance by the owner. We were also given 10% off which was advertised outside and greatly received. The owner was fantastic and friendly and really made the experience more enjoyable after travelling such a long way you can tell she enjoys what she does! Overall, a pleasant experience and I would return to try other dishes and see if my opinion changes.

Ordered saag and maki rotiChana BhaturaBeing an Indian myself, we do sometimes fancy getting a takeaway from an Indian restaurant from time to time...The menu looks decent with a good range of vegetarian dishes. However the prices put you off from ordering a few dishes. So we only ordered what we thought was good value for money, not what we couldn't afford, as we didn't want to not order anything and walk out. The food came out and we were disappointed with the portion sizes, for the prices advertised you would expect portion sizes to be at least big enough to maybe take home a doggy bag. Expect to pay between £20-£30 on maybe two dishes with rice and or naan with a drink being at higher price end.

Being vegetarian, my family and I were really looking forward to some good food. However we were not impressed unfortunately. Firstly, portions sizes were inadequate and and far from generous. Secondly, the food was not well priced, meal was on the pricey side. The one positive I have to say is that the food on the whole was decent. But failed with creating a welcoming atmosphere.

They do a wonderful range of vegetarian curries...three of us tried 8 curries. You can specify how hot you want them, but most of us found their 'medium' was pretty hot

This restaurant serves excellent, authentic Indian food, and is vegan friendly. This is a must for vegans in Kent, I made the journey 45 minutes to eat here and it was well worth it! Vegan buffet included pakoras, bhajas, and a selection of curries and dhal. So delicious and not like your standard bland 'fake' Indian food, this tasted very authentic. The staff and service were amazing too. Thank you for your kind hospitality.I will surely be back!

A great selection of authentic Indian food, which is different to the usual Indian takeaway fare and the staff were very attentive, eager-to-please. It had a great Vegan selection and the food was very, very tasty. Be warned, though: their 'mild' option for the spiciness of some dishes is still quite spicy! My Mum is not vegan or vegetarian (and doesn't usually like spicy food!) but she said it was the best Indian meal she has ever had!

I went here for my sisters birthday and we all felt very welcomed and they had decorated with happy birthday banners and delivered all of her drinks with mini umbrellas. They also brought out a cake after we had finished our meal. I am very picky and every piece of food I tried tasted amazing and I would definitely go again

I've been here 5-6 times since they opened. They are a really friendly local family that caters to Vegan needs very well. Also if you have any allergies just let them know and they will make sure to take care of you. I'm Punjabi so I know what the food should taste like and they nailed it.I'm a big fan and will return any time I'm in Gravesend.

We went to Singhs last Friday evening (30th September) arriving at what we thought was closing time. We just happened to be passing. My wife and I were hoping we’d be served. We need not have worried as we were made most welcome by a very pleasant and efficient server, Gurjeevan, who we had not met before. She offered to help us through the menu and explain dishes but we did not need this. Very helpful. We are “regulars” and as vegans we love the fact that the food is good and tasty and that the vegan and nearly-vegan owners understand what a vegan is. I am also wheat allergic and this is also catered for.I ate the chole with a vegetable biryani, my wife ate the vegetable pakoras with a dal. A lovely meal at a reasonable price.Do go – you won’t be disappointed.

If anyone had asked me before I went to Singh's if I would opt for an Indian meal with no meat and no alcohol I would have given a definite thumbs down. It was recommended to me by a serious carnivore who loves a drink so I thought if he wants to go there it must be pretty special. And so it was. Delicious food, plenty of variety and choice and everything was freshly cooked. I will definitely go back there again when I am in the area.

We visited Singhs with some friends and had a wonderful meal. Our two friends are vegetarians and we're delighted with a menu where they could eat everything! I had an aubergine main course and garlic rice which were absolutely delicious and my friends were equally delighted with their food. We will definitely be back here when next in the area and my friends have already planned their next visit.

What a great little restaurant and so nice to find decent vegetarian Indian food. It's great to see proper vegetarian dishes rather than just vegetables chucked in a generic curry sauce. The Dhaal Makhani and Banghan Bartha are favourites of mine. The pappadums are great a well, not the usual heavy fare but lovely and light and a fantastic addition to the meal. The service is always very friendly and they are genuinely please to see you.

Myself and work colleagues visit Singhs at least once a week. As a committed carnivore I initially worried that I may miss meat. I needn't have worried. The food is fantastic! Beautifully seasoned and freshly cooked, it hits the spot every time and I can easily do without meat if all food I eat is this good. The staff are friendly and cannot do enough for you. Nothing is too much trouble. This is my preferred restaurant of choice whenever I am in Gravesend

Visited by chance after passing this place whilst in Gravesend. Had the lunch buffet which was very good along with pleasing service. I have eaten and enjoyed Indian vegetarian food many times in the past [especially Thalis] as I work overseas and the food here did not disappoint.

What a pleasure. Excellent service, with so much info on their dishes. Try their platter as a starter to share for two. As for the rest of the meal, an absolute flavour sensation. We will be back. Plus no Deli belly the next day. I am very much a carnivour but this vegetarian restaurant is tops.

This used to be a unique Indian restaurant, so different from the many so called Indian restaurants in Gravesend. It used to serve delightful Southern Indian food, rice ‘pancakes’, dosas I think they were called. Now no better than all the rest of the anglicised Indian restaurants in Gravesend. Fortunately the staff are as pleasant as ever. Regretfully I’m unlikely to revisit and will return to the last worthy Indian restaurant in Gravesend. It would be unfair to name it here.

We sampled various dishes at this restaurant. My wife specifically requested no sugar in her meals, yet we found the Aloo Gobi unexpectedly sweet. This might not be due to added sugar, but perhaps from a pre-made sauce; we were not particularly impressed by it. On the other hand, the Tarka Dal was exceptionally flavorful, and both the Bhindi and Palak Paneer were quite delicious. Another downside was the Tandoori Roti's price - at over £3 each, it's notably more expensive than what we've seen elsewhere in the UK, where you can get nine for a similar price in Leicester. Overall, the experience was decent for the area.
