Silver Sea in Surrey Heath

I have been to this fish and chip shop many times and as a local resident I used to be very pleased with the quality and portion size, however the last couple of times I have been extremely disappointed. The quality of the meal has deteriorated rapidly. The chips are often scrapped and there doesn’t seem to be any managerial presence in the shop

Ordered large jumbo sausage, 3 cod and large chips... - Sausage was only ok thing - Fish, only comes in one size and its over £7 and its pretty small, was dripping with oil and had no flavour - Chips - ordered a large and it was a tiny portion, not worth £3.50 Very slow service too. Won't be going back.

I have been a customer of Silver Sea for the past couple of years. Last night I bought Cod and chips for my wife and I for £18! It was terrible. The Cod had been previously cooked and then re-heated. It was swimming in oil to try and give it some moisture. The chips were dry and limp. At the price that is charged it was one of the worst meals my wife and I have ever had. Silver Sea has lost a customer.

Fantastic fish and chips from here. The best for miles around (I’ve tried them all). They get everything right, and are consistently up to the highest standards. Never greasy, nice light batter on the fish which is cooked just right. They actually do nice crisp chips which a lot of places cannot seem to manage.The food is freshly cooked to order and generous portion sizes. Food comes packed and in a cardboard box and a paper bag so arrives home hot and not soggy. Highly recommended- give them a try!

Who doesn't love traditional fish and chips? I recommend this hidden gem, in the centre of Farnham town. Beautifully cooked fish in a light, crispy batter sitting alongside an ample portion of fresh chunky chips. Absolutely delicious! The restaurant is honest and well maintained by lovely staff who care about their customers. I couldn't recommend Silver Sea enough.

I had a great first visit to the shop in November 2022 but on two subsequent visits had to walk away. Visit 1 was accompanied by a lot of scratching, picking at face and hands in hair by the team at Frimley Green. I had to ask for my order to be cancelled and refunded. Thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and tried again - same thing. Went for another try this time Sandhurst, and as I am driving past I can see the server picking at the corner of her eye. I'm wondering if you could get some trainers in on food hygiene and handling. I suspect you have a few new employees who are young people in their first jobs maybe that need some guidance on this? You're not the only place I've seen this but it is pronounced and I tend to give most places a few chances but 3 out of 4 is a poor show.

Absolutely lovely chips must be the best around. I come from Woking and was visiting a friend who suggested we call in to get lunch. I’m so glad we did. Food was excellent good portion and fair price. We loved it I may just pop over there from Woking for my suppers We don’t have the same quality around here.

No just joking, great Fish and chips and frankly place looks clean and well maintained which is always re assuring

Silver Sea is our favourite local chippy but until now we’ve always turned up, ordered and waited. This time we decided to download the App and order in advance. Found it really easy to use - everything was ready and no waiting around when I arrived to collect. This is the way forward - give it a try!

Excellent local chippie with a good variety of choice and excellent quality at a reasonable price. A little wait to get the order but a very friendly and efficient service from the young crew here. If the weather permits and you have time, just walk across the road to the beautiful well kept green. You have a choice of sitting in the sun or under a shady tree on the grass or a park bench. The oldest tree on the green suffered a terminal illness and rather than remove the entire trunk, turned it into an excellent wood sculpture (as the Almighty has done to Keith Richards) you can admire while munching your sublime fish n chips.

I popped in just as they were closing and they still insisted on cooking fish for me and some new chips. It was perfect, the best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time and staff were fabulous. Thank you!

In my humble opinion this is the best chippy in the area - staff always cheerful and you can’t beat freshly fried fish in crispy light batter with decent portions (you’d have to be a complete glutton to manage a large chip portion on your own!!). Ordering is bit of a hassle during current Covid restrictions - only one customer allowed inside at a time, order at counter, pay and then wait outside for order to be brought out. This is fine during decent weather but suspect it will be more trying when cold & wet :-( However, regardless of the Covid ordering hassle our tasty cod and haddock were cooked to perfection :-)

I always visit Silver sea when I want fish and chips. Staff are amazing, always greet you with a warm welcome and a big smile. I would totally recommend. 😋😋😋

If we have fish & chip supper once a month that would be a lot for us i.e we don’t have it often :-) but when we do, Silver Sea is always our go to place even though it’s not the closest one to us.

Getting more expensive but still good quality and worth a try. Central Frimley Green with a few parking spots outside.

Don’t be put off by the austere interior or lack of parking when busy (large/free car park just round the corner on Wharf Rd - definately don’t be tempted to park in the Rose &Thistle car park opposite as you will get a fine!!). Decided to try Plaice for a change but overall my wife’s Haddock was better of the two in my opinion (both enjoyed with cheesy chips). Good portion sizes with fish in light batter, reasonably priced and cooked to order by the friendly staff - enough said!

Newly revamped but still the 100% standard achieved over the last 10+ years. We would never go anywhere else even though it's a drive when we could walk 200 metres to a more local but very inferior chippy! Carry on the good work, please!

We have been getting our fish & chips from here for a long time, the shop has been fully refurbished and it’s great they even have a credit card machine now. The chips and battered sausages are good you can even ask for scraps . Would I recommend this chippy you bet your boots.

Fish is excellent. Workers are friendly and efficient. Chips are chips. Price is fair. So, noteworthy all round.

Great chippy in the village serving a great selection of traditional fish and chips and extras. I have knocked off a star as the last order on getting home was a battered sausage down, paid for 4 only got 3. Can't fault the quality but obviously had a quantity issue!
