Decided not to take notice of some negative reviews seen for Heswall Silk Road, glad we did go ahead & book. Good food & drinks selection Tapas dishes were really tasty & served hot, all reasonably priced too with great staff & service, will definitely visit again

Went here with friends. The service was excellent no complaints there. Atmosphere nice. Wine nice. Thought the food was mediocre to be honest. I wouldn’t go back.

Lovely food, great service, very welcoming

A disappointing dinner one of the dishes was oily with too much sauce and little vegetables they managed to change it . Another duck dish was overpriced with a very small portion. A lamb dish was burnt they agreed to change it and did not charge for it.

Excellent food, good polite attentive service. First time visit. Wasn’t disappointed. Great selection of Tapas and deserts. Will definitely be going again.

Very disappointed. I have dined here on many occasions but this week was a complete shock. Overcooked food, fatty pork bites, cold coffee and dirty/tired in appearance. I believe a new team of staff are in place, but finess was lacking.

We partook in their 40% off in January deal for lunch yesterday, restaurant was very quiet, only 3 other tables filled but it was really nice and chilled. Their menu has had a spruce up since I last went and we tried dishes we’d never had before apart from our old favourite nachos of course! Would highly recommend everything we tried! We had the chicken shawarma, Greek street fries, Bangkok noodles (delicious!!), Korean popcorn, Sri Lankan steak with potatoes and the nachos. Megan (I think) our waitress was nice and had a friendly manner. We were full but managed to share the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream for pudding and it was sooo good! Thoroughly enjoyed their newer menu and will definitely be returning soon!

Came here after a bereavement so was not really in any kind of mood to complain. First of all please let me say that Becky our waitress was fantastic and most welcoming. After some confusion over the menu pricing , which did get resolved. The food unfortunately was lukewarm , some even stone cold. We complained about the chicken shawarma not being hot in pockets of rice and although had tried some, it was taken away without offer of replacement. Not that we would have tried another but that’s was not the point of good customer service! Anyway, not by any a bad experience but questionable whether we’d revisit.

Average food, they are probably trying to do too many different choices. The wait for food was far too long, it took nearly an hour for Thai prawn crackers. The service was terrible. Luckily I had good company and lots to catch up on!

New Years Eve meal. Staff were excellent and were working really hard as the restaurant was very busy. The food was outstanding, really tasty.

Lovely selection of food and good simple options for children too. Good quality service, the lady who served us was very chatty and friendly. A little pricey but portion size good and they do have offers certain days of the week.

My friend and I had a table booked for 7pm (28/12) but ended up arriving and being seated between 6:30-6:45. The restaurant wasn’t too busy when we arrived but as more people were seated we realised people that arrived after us were being served and bought drinks and food before our order had even been taken. It got to about 7:15/7:20 for us to have or order taken which we had to as a member of staff to take as it seemed our table was being forgotten. After this, food and drink turned up within a decent time and the food was really lovely. One of the dishes ordered wasn’t actually out through which was frustrating but at this point we just wanted to go. Staff apologised for the wait and explained there was a member of staff of sick which is fair enough and almost stopped me from complaining. However it did very much seem our table was avoided after a while and other tables were still being seen to so there really wasn’t any excuse.

We had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday at Silk Road. The staff were attentive and the food was outstanding. There were 8 of us and each dish was flavoursome and piping hot. The staff sang happy birthday to me which meant a lot. Everyone loved their food and we had a fab time. I can highly recommend Silk Road. The restaurant was busy but staff checked in with us to make sure everything was fine. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We were a party of 8 celebrating my birthday and had a wonderful time at Silk Road. The menu was extensive and we choose lots of different tapas style food. Each meal was flavoursome and piping hot and everyone loved the food . The restaurant had a lovely vibe and all the staff were attentive and smiling. They sang happy birthday to me which really made my night. I can definitely recommend Silk Road and want to thank all the staff for a most enjoyable evening.

Such a lovely place, went with my daughters for a special Christmas catch up....never felt rushed at all. Definitely will return xx 🎄🎁🥳

First time here and a few things left us a bit underwhelmed. A midweek night so not overly busy but a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. One of the fish dishes wasn’t available which was ok but after we’d ordered we were then told they had ran out of pizza. We’d ordered a few of these and a bit surprised a professional kitchen couldn’t knock up a few pizza bases at short notice, or pop to Aldi round the corner. The food we did get was good (not great), and we didn’t go hungry. Once we’d asked for the bill we did have to wait quite a while for the card machine to come. Also a bit surprised at £10 for a gin and tonic albeit it was a double and it’s Heswall prices I guess. As I say a bit underwhelming overall as we had high hopes and probably a while before we think about returning.

My friend and I visited Silk Road tonight. We were greeted by Etty and shown our seats. The restaurant is decorated beautifully. We were given menus and were spoilt for choice. We choose 7 dishes and each one was full of flavour and piping hot. The Mediterranean Sea bass and nasi goreng were my favourite. Tom also came and spoke to us. The staff were very professional, friendly and welcoming. The drinks were well priced and the deals were excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable night with delicious food in a restaurant that had a lovely ambience. Would definitely recommend and will return.

So disappointing……after one hour only a cold starter, chips and one tapas appeared! Other, larger groups seemed to fare better than the two of us. Both the chips and lamb tapas were warm, not hot. Won’t be back as lots of other restaurants to choose.

Some of the food was really tasty and good value. However, the service was not up to the standard of the food. It also felt as if the restaurant could do with a deep clean, sticky floors and tables not the cleanest.

So disappointed! Starter arrived but after nearly an hour only chips and one lamb dish! We asked for the bill and left….. will probably not return.

Visited with friends on a Monday evening. Fab offers during the week and the food was lovely. Would definitely recommend, looking forward to returning to try some more dishes.

6 of us visited Friday evening, food was absolutely fabulous however the service was non existent, may well of been self service. 18 dishes ordered between the 6 of us, 5 dishes arrived and 20 minutes later we had to ask where the rest was....

We were celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary and was so well looked after by Josh, whilst dining at Silk Road. Cannot recommend Josh or Silk Road enough. The choice of food is amazing and so tasty. We will definitely be back again soon. Thanks again, Josh :)

Our favourite place for tapas and sangria. The lovely guy who serves us whenever we come (sorry I don't know his name) is always great with us and our little boy. He even let us know the secret recipe for his sangria. Kalamari, spring rolls and sweet and sour are my favourite dishes. Went with friends for an evening meal for a friend’s 70th birthday celebration. We’d been quite a few times at lunchtime, but never in the evening! Staff very friendly, but a bit slow when we requested certain things. The food was lovely & the portion size’s was adequate. At the end of the evening, we were given the wrong table bill, which they rectified, they hadn’t taken off alcoholic drinks (which we’d already paid separately for).
