Siam Square in Kirklees

Ordered a takeaway for collection last night from this restaurant. My partner travelled out to pick up the food up and on arriving home and removing the lids we were very disappointed to find that they had given us the wrong order. I rang the restaurant to inform them what had happened however received no apology for this. We then had to ask for the correct order to be delivered instead of us having to travel out again as this was their error. With a lot of reluctance they agreed. When the driver arrived to our house he turned up empty handed and wanted the incorrect order back which had already been in our home, which really makes me question their hygiene given the current covid-19 pandemic. The driver was very ignorant and unhelpful. When I called back to the restaurant they said it was a different driver that had to bring our correct order back to us which we then had to wait a further 25 minutes for and on arriving the food was cold and had to be microwaved. It was also the same driver. After all this I had to ask on the phone for some form of compensation after what had happened, I would have like to think they would have offered it to us considering this was their error. Overall negative experience, will go else where in future.

We had a takeaway as a treat during lockdown. We'd been a bit wary, but it was fantastic. So well organised, we ordered, chose a collection time and paid online. When I arrived to collect I rang the number, stayed in my car and they popped my food on the step and went back in so I could collect it with absolutely no contact. The food was absolutely beautiful, it really cheered us up in these miserable times. We'll definitely be back for more takeaways, as well as to the restaurant once we're able to.

My third visit, Jan 2020 - happy to recommend. For a long time I was put off trying this restaurant by the sheer number of empty tables noticeable whenever I passed outside. Following a friend's recommendation I went ahead with my first booking last year. And I was not disappointed. It seems that the tables not visible from the street get priority for seating, giving the impression of an empty restaurant.

On the 9th (Thursday) I've booked a table for Saturday to celebrate my Bday. I've picked 10pm and used their on website and checked opening times on google. After that I've recieved a booking confirmation thought it's all sorted....how little did I know? They rang me on Saturday nearly at 6pm saying that they can't take this booking because they're closing earlier. Very professional... I wouldn't leave this review if they would let me know at least day before but on the same day with 4 hours notice...really? Well this place is never packed but we wanted to give it a shot...not anymore. Bye Felicia!

We have ordered from here before and ate in the restaurant and the food is normally good but today was different. We order it for take away which is a treat because it's expensive as a take away choice. Well, it might be the last time we order as the food was late and stone cold. Two people ordered fish and prawns so couldn't reheat there's and just had to eat cold food. I called and complained and was told I would get a call back from the manager. I am still reeling from the managers response. After spending £65 on take away his response was "I'm sorry but food gets cold sometimes". He barely even apologised and just kept saying food gets cold, he even said "it's cold outside and this makes it hard". I'm sorry but everyone else manages to get their food to us hot, this restaurant has also managed it before. The thing that has annoyed me the most is that they didn't offer to do anything about it and just kept making excuses. Well I certainly won't be spending anymore money at this establishment.

The second time my workplace has decided to hold the annual Christmas event here and what a great choice it was as it was every bit as good as our first visit. Our party of 17 received a warm and courteous welcome. We were soon seated comfortably and supplied with menus including the special Christmas one that provided excellent value for money. Serving 17 people with individual choices must have been some task but we were all served with our meals at the same time and everyone was more than satisfied with the quality and the quantity of their fayre while non drinkers like myself were constantly supplied with fresh water, hygienically served. All in all, a great experience that I hope will be repeated for many years to come.

Just me and my daughter for tea, so we opted to come back to Siam Square. A warm welcome, though it was very quiet. Food and drinks ordered and starters came very quickly. All the food was excellent, and beautifully presented. Lovely staff.

It’s never a good sign when you walk into a busy town centre restaurant and there are only three other diners in there, but a family member insisted on wanting to try this place and thought we’d give it a go. The crispy duck salad starter was ok, although the duck wasn’t that crispy and the salad was quite basic. However, the worst was yet to come with the pork belly ‘holy basil chilli bomb’ main, which was so chewy and hard that it was inedible and had to be sent back. To be fair, the waitress organised me a replacement dish of lamb curry, but the other diners in our party had finished their dishes by the time it arrived. Very poor dining experience overall.

Good Sunday set menu, good vegetarian options, really delicious food and nice staff! We had two courses each and they were lovely

Having previously booked a table, we arrived and we were shown to our table and given menus. It was my birthday and I was looking forward to the special occasion. We waited for 30 mins and no one had come to take our order for drinks or food. There were other people who had arrived after us who had at least been served drinks. The restaurant still had capacity for lots more people. There were 2 staff waiting on who seemed busy, too busy to notice that we hadn't been served or to see that we had walked out in disgust of poor customer service. I will never return as it spoilt my evening and there is no excuse for such poor service.

Struggled to find a good Thai restaurant in huddersfield for 10+ years. This is by far the best I have ever eaten at - great service, clean and lovely atmosphere, food is incredible, so fresh - well done chef!! Priced fairly too, please visit and try -you will be impressed.

My sister and I paid our first visit here and it most certainly will not be our last. Staff very professional and friendly and the food delicious. We shared spring rolls and Siam grilled for starters followed by the best green curry we have ever tasted along with Weeping Tiger and two different rice side dishes, very fresh food very well presented.

A rare opportunity to have a meal out last night and we went for Thai at Siam Square. It clearly has nothing to do with the previous tenant (Kings, an all you can eat gobble-fest chinese) We chose a Mixed starter, Tom Yam soup , King Prawn Pad Thai and and Pad Prick - Red curry stir fry with jasmine rice. The food quality was excellent, not dripping on oil and very tasty. Clearly made from scratch with the freshest of ingredients It really brought back memories of our Thailand trip. the food tasted very authentic. Staff were courteous and discreet at all times. £ value was reasonable. You should put this restaurant on your list of places to eat in Huddersfield.

My partner and I both love Thai Food. Tried it as it looked nice from the outside, had had a quick look at the menu and booked a table as it was Bank Holiday. On arrival there were a few patrons in already not too many, just enough to create a nice ambience. Had lovely food arrived hot and very nicely presented, we decided to have wine and water with the meal. What can I say everything was just perfect, will definitely recommend to friends/family and return again.

Booked Siam on a whim last night. We wasn’t disappointed one little bit. It was quiet for the time we booked but we were not not rushed. Both my partner and my starters were lovely I had duck spring rolls which were very warm and crunchy, my partner had beef thai salad which in her words was the best she’s had. The main course was beautiful giant tiger prawns with noodles.

Having had a first visit with colleagues for lunch a few months ago, I decided to book at table for a return visit with a friend who isn't very familiar with Thai food.

Food complimented good selection of wine and cocktails. Believe me when you ask for spicy they deliver. Thai ice tea was my favourite (non alcoholic). Steam fish was fresh (you can ask them to serve it boneless). If you enjoy more natural sweet and sour taste, the tamarind duck was simply tantalising!!! Drink lots of water later

Visited today for the first time and most certainly won't be the last. Food and service were spot on. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to a return visit.

Fairly new restaurant so thought I'd give it a go. Not dissappointed. The restaurant has been completely refurbished, staff were very welcoming on arrival, I had booked, but didn't really need to as there is seating for many.

The chef knows what he is doing and I have eaten in Thailand. This place is the real deal. Service is faultless aswell and the decor is sleek and clean. Even the toilets are a nice experience.

I went with my girlfriend for a meal. The restaurant is lovely. The service is 1st class and the food was outstanding. Easily the best Thai food I've ever had. I had the streamed dumplings and the king prawn pad Thai. I'd definitely recommend.

We have been here twice and both times, we had been greeted with a lovely simile upon arrival although we went there very late both time. We were always the last table and it was pretty much just us both time, but the staffs were very patient with us made sure we don't feel rushed. The waitress was the most friendly waitress I have ever met and very attentive. Food was lovely and you should definitely give this place a go.

We went as a couple for the fourth time. Every time we have been greeted by lovely smiles and very friendly, attentive staff.

Booked ages ago for Nye , we were there at 7pm so only early . They sat us in the window rather than the main area but was better really as i had the terrible cough which would have put people off . The waitresses were very polite , all thai which is nice and wore the thai clothes . We opted for the gold set menu and they were more than willing to swap dishes . I never eat seafood but for some reason chose all seafood dishes . Each dish was served to perfection , hot, fresh and tasty and in the correct order unlike in Thailand . Everything was perfect and we will definately be going back , absolutly fantastic !!

This is my third visit to this restaurant and this time i took the family. We were again welcomed with warmth and smiles from every single member of staff.

The food here is just superb, can't fault it. The seafood is cooked perfectly and the meat portions are quite generous. Service is excellent too. It's a big restaurant so we hope it does well and stays, despite the competition. The seafood salad has lots of chillies, but is delicious if you like spicy hot.

Abosolutely appaling service and food and nearly 4 hours late! 40 pound spent on cold food. Fatty meat. Oily/greasy cold curry. Stodgey cold rice and noodles. Worst takeaway I've had. realy annoyed I spent so much money on something so poor,which took so long to come. If u fancy cold tasteless food which u have to wait hours for then this place is for u

Food excellent as always and service with a smile, what more could you ask for. This wonderful Thai restaurant fully deserves to remain open so hope rumours of of it being up for sale aren’t true or if they are it will remain open just as it is.

Wow, wonderful food. Amazing service. We had a beautiful meal here and they have a full vegetarian menu and can change most meals to be vegan. Tofu Penang curry was to die for!! Will definitely be making this one of our regular places to visit.

Our party of 13 were extremely lucky to have chosen this brilliant restaurant for the works Christmas function Everything about the establishment oozes class from the charming welcome received on arrival to the stunning decor, comfortable and roomy seating, unhurried, relaxed service and, best of all, the delicious brilliantly presented food from the varied menu. Our party had a variety of dishes from the special Christmas menu and not a single member complained about the quality before them. Dishes are quite highly priced but you are getting value for money due to the high quality fayre and, for me, sampling Thai food for the first time, it was certainly a memorable experience that I intend to repeat as often as funds allow.

A lunch-time visit found the restaurant quiet this week for a party of six. However, service was impeccable and welcoming, and at two courses and a drink (soft drink/fruit juice/beer or glass of wine) for £10.95 the meal was great value. None of our party had anything to criticise. We found heat levels just as described on all dishes, good fresh ingredients, and everything was presented well and tasted great. 10/10 from me.

We have been here about 5 times and it just seems to get better.The first time we went there were about 10 customers. We went, without booking, on a Thursday night and had no problems getting a table. The atmosphere is good and the staff are very friendly and attentive.

Food here is the best Thai food I have had in the UK and I have tried many. This is the one that keeps us coming back almost every weekend. The food is consistently so good and beautifully presented and the people who serve are so warm and kind. I can’t speak highly enough of their spring rolls, green curry chicken with jasmine rice, drunken noodle with beef, coconut rice and pad Thai noodles, chicken satay, papaya salad... My fiancé has tried other dishes besides these and has never been disappointed. We don’t go anywhere else for Thai now because Siam Square has become the standard for the best Thai food

Called in on the off-chance as Little Chilli was booked up, and initially a bit surprised that it was completely empty - mind you, Sunday night in Huddersfield........

What a magnificent restaurant, happy smiling staff, beautiful food, great service...

The food here is excellent, the restaurant very well decorated and the staff very welcoming and friendly. Only downside was they were almost full and very busy and three waiters were not enough to keep food moving at a reasonable pace and to get everything to our table of 5 together. It won’t stop us coming again because the food is so delicious but they need to sort out the service if they want to keep on attracting business.

We went for the lunch special. Lovely welcoming waitress but food was quite bland. Very nicely presented but luke warm and not very tasty, Portions were also quite small. Would not return.

Our normal restaurant was fully booked and we were looking for an alternative. We were a little dubious as it was quiet but this is because it’s such a big restaurant. Do not let that fool you! The service was fantastic and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. Then the food! The menu was so different compared to your normal big standard options. The food was out of this world. We haven’t stopped talking about it and cannot wait to go back next month! We can’t recommend it enough

Of late, Huddersfield has been over run with new Chinese and Thai restaurants but in my view this is the best. It is located in the premises previously occupied by the Canton Chef, my favourite Chinese restaurant in the area. Close to the station, it is in a part of town where there is a varied choice of places to eat.

Impromptu meal with friends whilst staying over in Huddersfield. 4 of us had different Starters and main meals. Beautifully cooked and served by appropriately attentive staff, Well worth a visit.

One could question the wisdom of opening yet another Thai restaurant within spitting distance of two other excellent Thai restaurants but we enjoyed eating at Siam Square.

Seeing as this is my 7th visit to Siam Square I thought it’s about time to tell everyone how fantastic this restaurant is.

We had been wanting to come here for some time so when the day finally arrived we were both very excited!

I have been to Siam Square 2 times this year. 1st time the experience was not so great. Food wasn’t good and felt it’s over priced. But the 2nd time I went for a dish recommended by friend which was good ( pineapple fried rice). It’s still pretty expensive. The restaurant should think about reducing the prices a bit. Staffs are polite and the serving timing was good. I wouldn’t go there unless I don’t find another good restaurant to book last minute.

Third visit and tried different items on the menu. The lamb was cooked to perfection. This chef really knows how to prepare and cook food. Highly recommended.

Very good dinner, would recommend the banquet with the variety it offers. Weeping tiger a certain highlight.

Having visited Thailand on several occasions, we wanted a touch of that without the long haul flight. The food was fantastic and service truly Thai. We will be back.

Trued this restaurant 29th July. We were a party of 8. From the moment we entered we were greeted and seated and treated to 5 star service. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly very professional. The house white wine was beautiful. The food was absolutely delicious. We all had a wonderful time and will return and I highly recommend. Great value for money. A true eating experience.

Huddersfield now has another great Thai Restaurant. If you like Thai Food you have to try this place out. I can also say that the service provided by staff is also extremely good.

We went with our daughter and her Husband to Be. The staff couldn't have been better (they were so accommodating and 'Thai'). If you haven't been to Thailand you may not know what I mean but if you have you'll know exactly what I mean. Just sooo nice.

I randomly chose this restaurant for a take away option... as soon as I walked in I was treated like a queen! The service was amazing and the Pad Thai was the best I’ve had in a long time!!! So so delicious!!!

Fantastic! Tried all the Thai restaurants in Huddersfield now many times which are good, however this one first time & gotta say the quality of the food is right up there, hence the five star rating. It’s in a lovely clean minimalist setting with attentive staff. Will return for sure as food is delicious & also authentic. Hope that helps

Lottie and I had a really good meal this evening in "Siam Square" a recent addition to the restaurant scene in Huddersfield. Really 'good' food - to me means it was;

I visited Huddersfield as it was on the way to my other appointment. I came across Siam Square as it was recommended by other Thai friends. Apparently, they travelled from North Yorkshire just to explore this new Thai restaurant. They are right! It is truly worthwhile to visit this restaurant. The whole experience was wonderful. The ambience is peaceful, classy and beautifully decorated but not uptight. Their menu choices are well selected yet it can be catered to anyone. From a classic Chicken Thai green curry, Tom yum soup, Fried rice or Soft shell crab, Steamed sea bass or lobster for adventurous ones. My daughter ordered her usual- Chicken satay with sticky rice. The chicken satay was well seasoned, soft. It came with relish and peanut sauce (special touch as the chef put S on the sauce!). We shared Pineapple fried rice which is not too sweet with fresh king prawns, a lot of chicken... very generous portion. I decided to indulge myself and had Lobster green curry as the price is unbeatable. Honestly, you can't get half of the lobster in the other restaurants for this price. All dishes were beautifully presented, delicately prepared and truly delicious.

Made our annual trip out to Huddersfield with some loacalbfriends. We had visited the previous restraunt for the last 2 years so thought we would give it a go. We didn't expect much but as soon as the starters came we knew it would be good. Lovely food and really enjoyed it. Yes a little expensive but worth it. Staff are very good and couldn't do enough for a 17 month old daughter.

We had a starter, main and beer for £10.95 each. The food was beautifully served - really colourful and attractive. The flavours were excellent. The service was charming. We will certainly be back soon.

Popped in here on a quiet Tuesday evening because neither of us wanted to cook. Was a great decision. We were greeted as we entered and (as it was quiet) offered a table of our choosing.

From the meet and greet to leaving the restaurant the experience was awesome. When I departed the restaurant and arrived home the first thing that I wanted to do is book a holiday to Thailand. The respect I received from the staff and the vibrant flavours from the food i found the evening to be truly amazing. Siam Square has put Huddersfield back on the map, so proud.

Well what can I say about Siam Square “ Stunning “ did not except the massive change when I walked in Simple & classy. The staff are attentive,welcoming and very helpful.

Our second visit and it was just as good as the first. Really delicious food, the tofu summer rolls starter is highly recommended. I had tiger tears on our first visit and beef tenderloin in coconut and lime on our second. Both were really good!

Beautiful presentation and very tasty Thai food. Great selection to choose from and can be slightly changed if too spicy or you want a different meat . Friendly helpful staff. Will definitely be back again. Great to say they have only been open a month. Only managed to take photos of starters as we were too eager to get stuck in with our mains. Oops.

How many Thai eating houses does it take to make up a traditional northern cloth town? LOTS, if Huddersfield is anything to go by! First visit to the Square...first impression, very light, airy, warm welcome, and boy is it big!!! Gonna take some people to fill the space!

Ive visited some nice thai places in Huddersfield Halifax likes of thai sakon thai style little chillis etc but siam square was outstanding.the food was well presented and very tasty quick service nice staff tasty cocktails ..LOVED IT this place will be in top 5 soon on here.

Four us went for the first time on Friday evening. We had a really good time. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and efficient and the decor was lovely.

There were six of us we ordered six starters and six main courses all were amazing no complaints will be back soon

Great authentic Thai food, the staff are very friendly and professional. Lovely interior and layout of the restaurant, the Thai traitional decor gives a homely feel. The food is as good as you can get in Thailand. Would recommend to all.

First visit, excellent service, brilliant cuisine and lovely venue. Will definitely return. Waiters/waitresses were all very attentive and helpful.

Nice food but very small portions. Drinks are ridiculously expensive... £4.50 for a pint of coke and £3 for a lime and soda. £14 for a tiny salmon fillet and had to order rice in the side. There are much nicer restaurants in town that serve similar food. Ordered a mild meal but it came covered in little red chillis. We won’t be visiting again.

Myself and 2 friends attended on a Friday evening and it was empty on arrival, but soon got busier. The food was lovely, very tasty and arrived quickly. The staff were very attentive and kept topping up our water and prosecco.

Looking for a nice restaurant as a birthday treat on a Monday evening is a challenge as many are closed, however we came across this Thai gem.

My husband went for lunch and was so impressed he took me along the following week. This is an upmarket Thai restaurant,clean and nicely furnished.The lunch menu is excellent value for£10.95 including a drink.The food we had was freshly cooked and flavoursome.Service is excellent.Give it a try ,you don't know what you are missing.

Visiting Huddersfield for sons soccer tournament and stopped in and was very impressed. Service was great as well as the food would definitely recommend.

Had dinner here last night with friends. A great experience and fab new addition to the Huddersfield restaurant scene. Great food, friend had the scallops which were “proper” big and juicy (apparently).

Visited for the first time last night and really liked it. The service was very good and the food delicious. We had the prawn/duck rolls and the squid to start followed by sweet and sour chicken and beef massaman. All were high quality, well cooked and really tasty.

Excellent flavourful Thai food and great service. The beef salad was a spicy as I asked for it and the jungle curry was superb. The large restaurant was a little noisy and maybe an issue if it was very busy.

Delicious quality food beautifully presented which makes it different from the other Thai offerings around Huddersfield. We had the duck summer rolls to start, then drunken beef noodle and weeping tiger beef (think perfectly cooked steak goes asian). Glad we went for dessert and shared the best mango sticky rice I've ever had.. with a phenomenal coconut ice cream with chewy bits of fresh coconut.

I don't know how you can keep an establishment so clean and I have never felt so welcome. Superior customer service second to none! The food was incredible, the staff were so polite and we never went dry as our drinks were being poured constantly! I've been to Thailand, this is essentially that. Can't recommend enough.

Siam square is by far the best out of the 3 thai restaurants all within 3 minutes walk of each other. It can be classified as fine alacarte dining. The interior has recently been refurbished with modern touches and some white orchid plants. The steps up to the dining area is unavoidable due to being an existing building and not wheelchair friendly. Maybe they should put some tables and seats at the front entrance as well. The bar is small but modern.

We were a bit disappointed that the new owners of the lovely canton chef were yet another Thai restaurant (and dangerously close to the others!). However, we decided to give it a try and were not disappointed. Siam Square also has the same fine dining experience and the food is beautifully cooked and presented with generous portions. They have added another seating area to the right of the entrance. Unfortunately we went on an icy cold day, so the food got cold very quickly in that large space with the high ceilings, because they didn't serve it with food warmers. However, the Tempura Vegetables were lovely and crispy and there was a generous portion of mixed seafood in the Siam Seafood Spice dish. They also gave us a free starter of Prawn and Duck Summer Rolls which was a nice touch. This came with the most delicious lime and chilli dip I have ever tasted. The food was reasonably priced for the quality even without the 20% off, but it needs the food warmers please!! especially in winter!
