Really disappointed in the food, service ,portions and value for money The new decor is really good but the experience was poor

Came here for a birthday dinner for my fiancée and we were not disappointed. Great cocktail menu and the six different courses we had (chicken liver pate, crispy lamb shoulder, roast pigeon, side of beef, chocolate fondant and butterscotch pot du creme) were all terrific. Especially the beef. There is also an excellent wine menu to pick from. Very efficient and friendly service. Also considering the location and the style of cuisine, the prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be back

Fantastic service from all staff went above and beyond. The good is superb! Hats off to the chefs the best food I have had in Belfast and I eat out a lot. Couldn’t recommend more

This was third time lucky for us as due to the year we all had! The food is wonderful the staff are wonderful the atmosphere is wonderful the whole evening was wonderful absolutely worth waiting for ! So to all at SHU heartfelt thanks for a wonderful evening.

Beautiful restaurant inside and really good service all night but the portions are just laughable. I had the crab starter while my partner had the tomato soup both were really tasty but the crab starter was the same size as the crab tapas dish in the barking dog, for mains we had the hake and halibut. The halibut said it had brown shrimp with it but I didn't see any on my plate and had literally two sprigs of samphire underneath it, had to order a side of chips just so I wouldn't have to get a Chinese later on. The hake dish was also miniscule. Both dishes weren't exactly piping hot either. The desserts and cocktails were the highlight of the evening but for those prices the mains and starters should be stealing the show. Restaurant has vibes of chasing a Michelin star with its portions but it should consider going in a different direction.

So ... our first venture out in 3 months and what a fabulous step out it was .... food fabulous .... pate and breads to start and a turkey dinner which has set a high bar for the rest of this Christmas season!Also loving the renovations!And very good social distance measures in place ... so if you are in any doubt at all ... I would say “ go on, mask up, get over to the Lisburn Road, get settled at your table, masks off and have a lovely relaxed meal out treat at Shu”

El chef McCann ofrece un delicioso bocadillo tras otro, calamares con sal y ají, tartar de ternera añejado en seco, paletilla de cordero asada a fuego lento, rodaballo con asparagas y anchoas, platos bellamente presentados servidos por un personal atento y amable. Todo esto frente a covid. Se han tomado todas las medidas para garantizar la seguridad de los clientes y el personal. Desde desinfectantes de manos, pantallas robustas, distanciamiento social, procedimientos de cocina y restaurante y todo con un gasto y esfuerzo adicionales. Necesitamos que los restaurantes responsables como Shu permanezcan abiertos, necesitamos apoyar y alentar al tipo de personas que dirigen y trabajan allí y necesitamos un liderazgo que comprenda la contribución que los lugares como Shu hacen al turismo, la economía, el empleo y los proveedores de alimentos y bebidas. y productores, al futuro de la industria y, en última instancia, a nuestro bienestar. Nuevo en Tripadvisor, pero he estado yendo a Shu durante años y debo decir que me encanta. Comida deliciosa, servicio fantástico y siempre un gran ambiente. He perdido mucho mis sábados por la noche aquí y no puedo esperar a volver y ver las nuevas renovaciones.

Esta noche tuvimos "Shu en casa". Entrante de pato, plato principal Blade of Beef y tarta de limón para budín. De principio a fin. . . . . . increíblemente bueno. Hemos tenido varias cenas en restaurantes en casa desde el cierre y esta ha sido de lejos la mejor comida. Ordenaremos de nuevo. ¡Bien hecho Shu por una comida maravillosa!

Consistently great food and service. The food is, in fact, exceptional without being at all pretentious. We always feel welcome, even with our young children. Whilst ordering a cocktail in Belfast is mostly a disappointment, the Pisco Sour in Shu is lovely. The wine selection is also way above average, and it's a nice dining room with a relaxed atmosphere. Yes, it may be on the expensive side, but it is well worth it. Love this place. I really hope the current crisis has limited impact on business. Best of luck to all. Hope to return soon

Went for a Saturday night dinner, restaurant was buzzing (don’t think I’ve ever experienced a restaurant that had such a loud clientele - but be assured it’s a good thing!) service was great (friendly, attentive and efficient) food was great, prices were reasonable, definitely will be back.Ps Brian on the team was amazing!!

We have been to this restaurant many times and have never had a bad experience. It is our choice to eat out if we want an excellent meal and want to impress friends. There is always a wide range of food and drinks and they are always mentioned in the Michelin Guide.

Have frequented Shu lots of times over the last number of years and have always loved it...until our last visit. A less than helpful waiter and VERY small portions left is feeling disappointed. Parfait starter with 1 small piece of toasted bread, asked for additional bread and was told that all dishes were carefully portioned??? When ordering main course we asked if we would need an additional side order but were told no as the dish came with crush potatoes and veg. It arrived...all £24 worth of it... a 2 inch square piece of fish on top of a tablespoon of crushed potatoes and 1 stem of broccoli...hardly worth the heafty price tag. Dessert was fine but again the portion size has definitely declined since previous visits. When booking we said we had 20% text message. Bill arrives, no money off. Query it with our waiter who says oh yes that offer is on but you should have told us....ehhh....we did tell you. Really disappointed and won't be rushing back unfortunately.

We received a warm welcome on an otherwise wet and cold Monday night. The staff were exceptionally nice and service was excellent. There is plenty of choice on the menu and the food was very good. Would recommend a visit.

It had been a year or so since I've been at Shu and first time for lunch in many years.We were not disappointed. I had the chicken and mushroom risotto and the rice was properly cooked with a slight firmness to it. The rocket salad was good and the chips my friend had lovely light and crispy. My girlfriend had the fish cake and said it was very good. The tiramisu dessert was very good - a bit too much chocolate for my liking and more marscapone would have been good, but still enjoyable. Its my favourite dessert and one I make regularly.The latte was good - not bitter and the right amount of coffee.I'd recommend Shu to anyone at anytime - been consistently great for years.

Great quiet ambience, waiters were on their toes and attentive. Food came fast so all in all - service was great. Now the most important - the food !! It was prepared to perfection and really delicious! Let me straight away recommend the pigeon.

Michelin recommendation raises the expectations, but for me Shu was no better than many of Belfasts “OK” eatery’s, that don’t have that all important Michelin nod.Firstly, the wine list is poor. Any wine worthy of consideration is over-priced. However, I spotted a reasonably priced 2015 Tempranillo, yet, on ordering, was presented with the 2016 vintage without any correction. When I rejected the bottled I was challenged by the waitress about what it said on their wine list? I pointed out it said 2015. Honestly, if you’re going to make a stance like that you really should pick up the list and look for yourself, first. Poor it’s not updated.The food was average. Avoid the steak with the chilli butter, unless you prefer the taste of chilli butter to beef?...A huge blob of this butter was deposited on the steak, but it’s over-strong and you can’t taste the meat as a result. No subtlety of flavouring here. Tough pork too on the other main. Very disappointed, I won’t be back and couldn’t recommend this place to anyone for the price, but it’s irrelevant, as it was packed to the gunnels!

It’s been long time since I visited here but definitely won’t leave it so long. We attended a retirement dinner the food is probably best in Belfast the service was excellent wine was served with dinner I only drink rose and they very kindly changed up a bottle of white for rose so big thumbs up for customer service absolutely loved the food but the desert was amazing we had dark chocolate fondue with ice cream to the chef amazing ! We almost licked the plates ! To anyone visiting Belfast book a table you will not find better and great prices

Had a meal here with friends on a Friday evening. I found the food to be stunning in quality and presentation! And the service also was excellent. The beef bourguignon was absolutely fabulous and my friends all also loved theirs. I see there are some negative reviews, I can't imagine what happened there as ours was simply superb. I didn't know you could get such good food in Belfast - may we don't get out enough. Can't wait to return.

Shu never fails to hit the spot, whether that be for an impromptu midweek dinner or a more festive celebration. Julian and his team are exemplars of professional, friendly service and Brian oversees a consistently innovative and well-executed menu.

Out for dinner on New Years Eve .... usually that would spell disaster! but not at Shu .... food, service, atmosphere, worthy of every one of the 5 stars! A very busy evening for Shu but it didn't feel like that, the staff were attentive and amazing; the food was delicious, a set menu, generous portions .... highly recommend at any time of year, girlie lunch ... dinner ...perfect!

We visited in November 19, first time either of us had been and had a great night. Staff really friendly and prompt. I had delicious coconut soup, steak for main and cheeseboard for dessert. All delicious and cooked to perfection. We’ll be back.

We were a group of 11 having Christmas dinner and were probably not the easiest of customers to serve (as we kept moving around to speak to each other) The food was superb with great choice and quality and it was beautifully presented. Service was excellent

Just been with a small group for Friday night dinner. Being December the only menu was a three course Christmas menu at £39. Yes £39 for a slice of wheaten bread with smoked salmon, a turkey (no ham) dinner with none of the usual trimmings such as roast potatoes etc and a mediocre dessert. Outrageously overpriced and far from value for money.

Congratulations to Shu restaurant for a fabulous evening. Food was superb, service excellent- attentive but discrete- ambience lovely. Reasonably priced. Good menu choices. Friendly, helpful staff when booking by telephone. Would thoroughly recommend a visit to Shu! Thanks for a lovely evening.

Large group out for a Christmas meal on a Friday evening. Good service, good food, traditional fare executed well. Desserts maybe a little predictable and uninspiring but generally Shu does things well.

El restaurante Shu, cuyas instalaciones antes se conocían como The Terrace, está a aproximadamente un tercio del camino a lo largo de Lisburn Road desde el centro de la ciudad de Belfast (en Bradbury Place, al menos).

Los entrantes eran fabulosos pero Turquía principal era pobre. Caro, rebanada seca de pavo con todos los lados extra. No hay signos de nada festivo: sin brotes, relleno, jamón, asados, solo una rebanada de carne seca en puré con unos pocos puerros y un poco de tocino graso. Muy ocupado y servicio promedio.

A very pleasant dining experience with very well presented and prepared dining. House wine very good and reasonably priced too. Nice service with helpful staff

No puedo criticar este lugar. Habíamos reservado para las 6 de la tarde y tenían claro que teníamos que desocupar la mesa por un tiempo determinado, pero el lugar no estaba lleno, así que pudimos sentarnos. Personal amable y atento. Excelente comida. Teníamos algunos pimientos y aceitunas antes de que llegara nuestra comida y los pimientos estaban divinos. Los entrantes eran geniales: yo había calamares que estaban cocinados a la perfección. Los platos principales eran variados, todos disfrutamos, aunque uno de los nuestros tenía un pidgeon que la camarera explicó que sería raro y sí, definitivamente era raro. Mi amigo se lo comió y dijo que estaba delicioso, no podría haberlo comido tan raro. No hay postres y todo muy razonable. Gran noche con grandes amigos con una comida encantadora.

This is a nice restaurant but it’s very overpriced for very average food. I did find the menu slightly limited but to be fair, we had a nice meal. My opinion is; there are lots of other nice restaurants in Belfast which offer much better value!

Mi esposo y yo vinimos a Belfast a buscar a Andrea Bocelli en la Arena. Decidimos quedarnos una noche más y el restaurante Shu nos lo recomendó un amigo en Wexford. Nuestra experiencia fue deliciosa. Nuestros entrantes fueron divinos, tuve el panna cotta de queso de cabra y él mismo tenía el foie gras, conseguimos el Chateaubriand para 2 como plato principal y para el postre tuve la creme brulee y mi marido tenía la tabla de quesos. Todo estaba preparado a nuestro gusto y sabía excelente. El personal atento a nuestras necesidades y muy amable. Gracias por una gran noche de cita.

To be greeted by there are a few things we need to tell you about the menu - really being both the halibut and monkfish are unavailable (to be replaced by an inspiring and I have to say cheap mackerel dish) .... and then to be told that there was only one bottle of the wine we had ordered (a mid range fairly stock bottle).... to be then met with what can only be described as a mean portion of chateaubriand ..... all somewhat disappointing. It all tasted great but felt menu was restricted and hate a mean portion .... on the plus our friends had venison which was great but willing be rushing back .....

While catching up chatty news with husband, I was sawing and sawing away with my knife at the steak. Looked down to see what the problem was. The expectation of eating a fillet steak is to meet no resistance at all.The side I had started to try and eat was edged with a star shaped piece of connective tissue, creamy white and uncuttable and unchewable. Upon pounting out this 5 sided star to the waiter he responded immediately with a return to kitchen. The steak came back with the whole micro octopus still sitting on my plate and the remark "all our steaks go out like this. It's the 'chine'." I know this is a French butchery word to describe the chain of connective tissue attaching flesh to animal spinal cord. Neither the restaurant butcher, nor the chef felt the need to tidy the fillet up along the journey to selling it to me and presenting it on my plate. The restaurant vibe was buzzy. All diners seemed happy. Hubby liked his meal. I just kept going. I hardened my heart though to such an amateurish display of fine dining.

Noticed on Shu website offer for August - Chateaubriand for 2 with Chips and sauce, bottle of house wine £60 - its a no brainier, we had to go. We had been kindly bought a voucher so thought why not try it out. Booked for 7 but then running late so phoned and changed it to 7.30 not a problem. Staff are very professional and nothing is too much trouble. We started with some breads and the prawn arancini, both were excellent. But the star of the show was the Chateaubriand, cooked medium and served on heated plates which I love, it was just amazing. We swapped one side for baby potatoes again not a problem, only down side and this is just down to taste, we were not fussed on the red wine sauce. Suitable fed we headed home raving about our meal only to discover we had forgot to use our Voucher. Ach well means we just have to go back again before the Chateaubriand offer is over!!

Went for my birthday with my girlfriend expecting great things after reading reviews. We personally felt the food was not of a high standard and for the price it was not worth it. The mains and dessert were not good hence my disappointment.

Four of us visited Shu last night and had amazing meals from hake to halibut to lamb. All were exquisitely presented and beautifully cooked. The desserts were divine and we had an excellent evening

A number of restaurants were recommended to us by our driver. We settled on this one, after reviewing menus. Daily and summer specials were ordered and enjoyed both nights. We returned so to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere again and its proximity to our B&B;.

This is a restaurant we had always wanted to try, but it wasn't really what we expected.

Hace mucho tiempo que no he comido en SHU, y no hay ninguna razón particular por la cual, siempre estamos buscando nuevas experiencias o pensando que la ensalada es más verde en otro lugar. Habiendo fallado en obtener una reserva en otras opciones, regresé a Shu después de muchos años y fue una experiencia muy agradable en general. Lo más importante, por supuesto, fue la comida y nos fuimos para el almuerzo 4 - 11 - 4 por qué está muy bien de precio. La comida era excelente, una cálida y encantadora ensalada de caballa pesaba sobre el hinojo pero hasta sabrosa para eso. El plato principal de pescado deconstruido con gnocchis fue de primera categoría y los postres de queso y pastel de queso dieron en el clavo. La lista de vinos es buena y está bien de precio, y el servicio es amable y generalmente bueno, aunque no trae cubiertos a la mesa para la comida es un poco básico. Just to thank the staff of Shu for a really lovely Graduation Dinner for my niece yesterday . Great food, lovely wine and attentive waiting staff (as well as great company) made it an unforgettable day. My niece's dessert came out with Congratulations written on it! She was thrilled and of course took a photo! Thank you .

Last night 4 of us dined in Shu, and we loved it. We opted for 3 courses, all of us having a steak, which we absolutely loved. Reading some reviews here and working in a restaurant myself I wonder if the people of Belfast know what a ribeye is. But we were very satisfied. 3 of us had the foie gras which was beautiful, and we all had cheeseboards, again, beautiful. Our waitress was amazing, helpful friendly and always there to help us out. I’d steal her and put her in my restaurant if I could. Place was busy for a Monday and we can see why. Will definitely be back to try some of the other items on the menu, it all sounded so nice. Doing a great job and littered with awards. Just a shame abit the bad trip advisor reviews, the general public just don’t realise things cost more than they used to and it would seem people definitely don’t realise a ribeye has fat in. Opt for the fillet next time

Went for my birthday and also my daughters boyfriends birthday on Saturday very basic nothing to write home about steak and chips a bit of lettuce portions small, service good but pricey disappointed was looking forward to it all week.

This is one of the highest rated restaurants in Belfast, it even has a Michelin star. The decor is lovely, the wait staff is well trained and the food is very good, but honestly I was expecting great. I had fish with vegetable and while the fish was cooked perfectly it was missing something, perhaps a bit more acidity. For desert they had a crumble with fruits and nuts that was also good, but also lacking something that would have elevated it to another level.

My wife and I had a fantastic lunch here this week. The staff were very professional, attentive but not intrusive.

I visited this place a while ago. I wasn't going to leave a review (good food, poor service) but I keep getting texts from them with their latest offers. And to stop these texts I have to text a premium number. Ridiculous. I'm sure this violates GDPR in some way

Cenamos aquí en una llovizna la noche pasada en Belfast. Excelente servicio. El entrante de espárragos con queso en rodajas finas, alcaparras y la cantidad justa de anchoa picada fue excepcional. Tuve el halibut que estaba perfectamente preparado y venía con puré de patatas, puré de champiñones. Para el postre, tuve un cóctel temático, dulce y no demasiado dulce, no cereza (no los que están teñidos de rojo en un frasco) con una tapa de clara de huevo - delicioso y no probé nada. La ubicación sin pretensiones del vecindario y la iluminación cálida de bajo perfil y el comedor bien equipado hacen de Shu una excelente opción para nosotros. Tanto los servidores como yo olvidamos que mi impermeable estaba abajo en el armario, ya que no estaba lloviendo cuando me fui. Envié un mensaje después del cierre, después de medianoche con información sobre mi alojamiento cercano. Sin embargo, me quedé atónito y muy complacido cuando me devolvieron el mensaje de mi FB Y mi chaqueta me esperaba en la recepción de mi hotel cuando me fui a DAWN al día siguiente. Así que el excelente servicio continuó después de la comida. Desde la perspectiva de la gran ciudad de los EE. I hadn’t been at this place for years, so didn’t know what to expect after such a long absence.

Superb evening at Shu. I ordered steak tartare which often is much too piquant but this was perfection. I followed with pork belly which had the perfect balance of crispy outer and succulent inner with a wonderful cauliflower purée. My fellow diners had the parfait.,delicate flavour though with what seemed to be a slight chilli jelly,which should not have worked,but gorgeous,and the goats cheese and beetroot,perfectly cooked,followed by melt in your mouth boeuf bourguignon. Brian looked after our table with the right balance of professionalism. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend & I had an evening meal in Shu on Easter Monday and the food was excellent - we have 4 of the snacks between us for starter, 2 incredible mains and a lovely dessert to share. All the food we had was amazing, top quality and clearly produced with the best quality produce. My only 2 complaints would be, 1) when we arrived the reception from one member of the waiting staff was very frosty, for a restaurant like Shu id expect top class service, although this did improve as our evening went on and we are all human so I understand we cant always be in the best of moods. 2) the restaurant itself is in dyer need of renovation, its starting to look very dated/rough around the edges i.e. the chair legs are badly worn and the place in general could just do with some TLC and a revamp to make it more modern and competitive with the other high end restaurant's in that area/Belfast. That being said I could not fault the food or drinks we had and id happily return to Shu again.

We are on our first visit to Belfast with a game of thrones theme and decided to visit Shu. After an extremely early start this morning we were a bit grumpy ... Shu, it’s lovely kind and knowledgeable staff and incredible food, soon banished that! We were tempted by the reasonable set meal but ventured a la carte - excellent decision. My squid and dips were so light and delicious and the pork belly flavoursome and with great accompaniments. My husband had venison and salt beef and loved them too. Staff could not have been friendlier and knew about the food. We weren’t rushed but someone was always there when needed. I thought the standard of food and the value were both excellent and we would like to say thanks to all the staff for a brilliant evening! Valor morghulis.....

My wife and I plus another couple enjoyed a lovely evening meal at Shu. The service was excellent and attentive without being in you face or pretentious. The choice of dishes on the menu was excellent as as the wine list. The squid was possibly the nicest I have encountered in Belfast as this seems now a popular dish. The pork belly was also soft and tender and full of flavour. I hadn’t been to Shu for a couple of years but will be back again soon, lovely evening.

I was recommended Shu by a friend who is from Belfast. The service was impeccable the food was reasonably priced and delicious. I had the risotto and fish pie and both were very tasty.

Over rated. Menu limited especially for non meat eaters. Food incredibly salty. Staff not very friendly. Music very loud. Definitely disappointed. Starter of burrata salad tasteless. Cod boring. Steak eaters enjoyed.

having visited two local restaurants on the previous two weeks found the food much better ,the service and atmosphere also excellent.

The tasted and delicated food, very nice place, the service es excellent and the Price si normal for Michelin restaurant. They have two stars michelin, 2017 and 2019. I recomendó the visit

This was my first time to visit this restaurant the food was gorgeous and considering the number they were serving was hot also. I had to speak to the manager on leaving, to commend his staff as every member of staff could not do enough for you and were friendly and mannerly even under pressure. I would definitely go back and would also recommend the downstairs function room for private parties

Shu restaurant is one we used to eat in at least on a monthly basis, we always ate downstairs as he atmosphere was less formal and where at near the end of the evening staff would clear the floor for everyone to have a little boogie.

As usual the food in shu was first rate and service was good -we were a party of ten.however I think it is inexcusable for waiting staff to lean across your plate while you are eating-unbelievable ! I didn’t think that would happen in a restaurant like shu.

We were a large party at a conference. Pre dinner drinks were served in the very chic downstairs bar.

Went here yesterday for my mum’s birthday. We both had chicken which was very dry and without flavour. Also the roasted root veg were hard. Poor value for money.

Great service but overpriced steak and sloppy champ with raw spring onions. Not a great experience and I wouldn’t recommend or return here.

Family of 6 visit on Saturday 2nd March for mums birthday. Unbelievable service from one young lady with brown hair and glasses she was the best waitress I have ever come across!! Gutted we didn’t catch her name but we were sat in Shu bar downstairs. She helped us organise and pay for fizz as a surprise for mum, so attentive and helpful!!

Having seen the reviews we decided to go here for a joint valentines/ birthday meal. We were not disappointed. Very efficiently run but not stuffy, friendly staff and the food we had on the fixed menu was spot on! The wine we had was lush too.

I always enjoy the food and atmosphere at shu ,however I wish they would employ a more friendly and professional front of house.i didn’t book for lunch but got a table ok,however I asked if we could move to a table by the window which was vacant,however I was told it was booked,that’s fine.

My Boyfriend and I had been looking forward to a good meal, I eat out quite frequently so I had visited before and enjoyed my experience, however this time it did not achieve to please. We were greeted at the door and shown to our table. Although there was only two of us, we were placed in the middle of the restaurant at a rather large circular table. Our waiter was very pleasant and professional, he gave us the menu which has a variety of dishes to choose from. We started with the salt and chilli squid which looked like it had been thrown onto the plate. Although the presentation did not exceed our expectations, the squid tasted ok, however some of the dips were not pleasantly tasting. I had the pork belly for my main course which was cooked well and the cauliflower puree suited this dish nicely. The cauliflower vegetable on the plate was not cooked well and was extremely hard. My boyfriend ordered the venison 'linguine' - more like rubbery noodles. The dish did not look particularly appetising and looked like something someone would throw together at home. We risked dessert, but unfortunately it was not good at all. We appreciated the waiter being helpful about us having a nut allergy, and he double checked to make sure the dessert was safe. With only a limited choice left which is understandable, we chose the chocolate mousse. It was extremely bitter and the sesame cracker just didn't seem to accompany the dish adequately. Neither of us found the glazed cherries or cherry coulis very pleasant to eat. On a positive note we were thankful for our waiter, however we didn't enjoy our meal. The bill came to 60pounds with not even 3 courses each and only two soft drinks. I wouldn't have minded paying this amount if we had enjoyed our meal, although in this case it was far from value for money. This restaurant should focus on their standard of presentation and food pairing rather than trying to be opulent and upmarket.

Always impressive and value for money. Service and food great lunch or dinner time. Wine list is value for money. Been open for years which says all you need to know.

Lovely welcoming restaurant and great food. The salt and chilli squid was fantastic and chicken with leak risotto delicious. Nice cocktails. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back.

Had a really nice family lunch here. The food was superb, with friendly staff and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Only downside for me were the very uncomfortable seats, with my back aching after half an hour. Will definitely be back, but will try and get a table against the wall

Food just OK, waiting staff very good, no disabled toilets which is a must for ANY top restaurant and you only get one chance to make a first impression.

What a pleasure from booking by phone through to the last mouthful of food and saying farewell. Could not fault the place - I thought at first that it was going to be one of those arty places where they paint your vegetables onto your plate but no - we had sufficient food to keep 2 hungry guys happy. Reasonably priced and excellent cooking.

Algunas bellas damas celebraron Nollaig na mBan hoy con un fantástico almuerzo tardío en Shu. Julian y su equipo nos cuidaron muy bien, como siempre, y la comida fue fabulosa. Este es uno de los mejores lugares para comer de Belfast e Irlanda, con excelentes recomendaciones de vinos, personal altamente competente y profesional, y todo viene con una sonrisa. El almuerzo 4 - 9 - 4 tiene un valor brillante, y los Aperol Martinis son un verdadero desafío para un enero seco. Una de mis resoluciones de año nuevo es encontrar más razones para comer aquí en 2019.

Excelente restaurante, jantamos no dia 31/12 com cardápio fechado para o jantar de Réveillon. Ambiente agradável, ótimo atendimento, ótima opção de carta de vinhos, tudo perfeito.

Went for a meal in Shu last night with my husband. Hadn’t been in quite some time (a number of years!) but the 3 or 4 times we dined there previously have all been excellent. Last night was no exception!

Short notice booking was possibly via the website.

Only okay. Service was quick, friendly and professional. Menu was a little limited. Presentation was fine, food was just alright - nothing to write home about.

Really enjoyed our evening here. Decent menu choices and huge portion sizes. Really good wine. Impeccable service. Great experience.

Wow...5 courses all beef. The best beef in Ireland presented in intelligent and varied ways with fantastic wine pairings (all reds of course!) great night out

Recently visited with a large group. It was a set menu with a choice of a few different meals, 3 courses for £30 with £6 sup for steak. Naturally I had the steak, medium rare. It was cooked perfectly. It had some sort of chilli butter with it, the butter really had some kick to it but nice all the same. For the starter I had beetroot soup, didn’t know what to expect when i ordered it, but it was lovely. Dersert I think I had ice cream.

After an important appointment my niece and I popped in for a quick lunch. Great choice. This restaurant has a superb reputation and deservedly so. From the moment we entered we had a great experience. Comfort food was required and on the day before American thanksgiving we decided turkey was the obvious choice. It was delicious as were the accompaniments of champ and fresh vegetables. Even though the restaurant was quite busy we had very attentive staff making this a lovely experience not just a quick lunch. Sometimes it’s not just the food but the general ambience that creates a warm feeling. This is why Shu will continue to be a favourite and people such as us will continue to pop in for a quick lunch or dinner or both!,,,,

Llevé a la novia a su cena de cumpleaños, ya que he oído grandes cosas del lugar. Se mantuvo hasta su gran nombre de renombre. La comida era encantadora no podía fallar una cosa. El personal muy atento, volveremos! No podría haber ido a ningún lado mejor para una buena comida de cumpleaños.

This was a lunch for three: myself, wife and a friend. It was not too busy on that particular day and we enjoyed speedy, efficient and courteous service. 2 had the cured salmon starter and one an endive salad. All good.For mains, 2 had Pork Loin with chios on the side and one had venison sausages with champ and greens. One skipped dessert and the others had Blueberry Tart with ice cream and a Pot de Creme. Everyone very pleased. A delicious lunch in this gastronomic oasis on Belfast's busy Lisburn Road. Shall return soon.

Was part of a large group for a reunion dinner. We had a private room upstairs. Patient staff, delish food and great variety. Food orders all delivered correctly and together. Will return.

A quick meal at about 6.30pm and there were only a few other diners. Nice and quiet.

Llegué esta noche en una recomendación solo para ser rudamente saludado y trasladado a una mesa en el mismo camarero muy despectivo en cualquier solicitud y también gastó 37 en un btl de vino tinto solo para que me dijeran que había sedimento en el fondo y solo se vertió la mitad en una jarra y ¡El resto desapareció en alguna parte! Debe haber encontrado la puerta a Narina! Mala experiencia esta noche, pero afortunadamente el resto de Belfast no es tan malo como este lugar.

Food of a decent quality without being deemed excellent.Service was excellent with staff being very professional. Clearly a very popular eatery with a full house on the night that we visited, creating a good ambiance.

My husband and I visited on Saturday evening, happy to give it another go after wondering the last time why we weren't as impressed as other people. Well unfortunately we came to the same conclusion, fine, nothing badly wrong but certainly nothing memorable either. The foie gras and chicken liver parfait was a plate of beige, no colour at all. It was pleasant but it certainly did not send the taste buds tingling. Main meals similar, no taste sensation. Beetroot on wood pigeon was nice but no flavour from the pigeon, could have been eating any protein. Mushroom risotto didn't have the earthy mushroom flavour we expected. And so the theme continued to dessert. I just can't get past that this place is living on a name. It's hip to say you like Shu! Come on Belfast people, get over yourselves and have a true opinion.

On the first night of our visit to Belfast, we saw the A-board outside, walked in without a reservation, were found a table and then had a superb meal. The portion sizes are appropriate, the stead wonderful, desserts super. We booked a table for the next night, to ensure a second great meal! Thank you to staff, front of house and kitchen, for a lovely experience.

Food was lovely but the staff is what really makes this place.... very knowledgable, polite and went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely meal.

First ones in on a reservation at 530pm, told at the door our table was booked for 7pm. Hour and a half not a problem, Promptly got menus and water, then watched as three other tables showed up, got bar drinks and food. Waited 20mins with our water then got up and left. Starting off a meal being ignored does not bode well for after ordering. Went next door to the French Village and received prompt 5 star food and service. The SHU was a real HEEL that night.

Delicious food and cocktails in a beautiful setting. Chicken liver parfait was amazing and the squid starter is beautifully cooked. Gorgeous cocktails. Steak main course and braised beef were superbly cooked. Great restaurant.

We have been to Shu several times and always have a great meal , food is fantastic and staff are lovely, one of the best restaurants in Belfast .😁

Recently had a work dinner in Shu and I can't think highly enough of the place. They catered for a large number of us over 20) with excellent professionalism, serving perfect food which arrived very quickly considering we hadn't pre-ordered. The waiting staff were extremely courteous and attentive and the atmosphere was so relaxed. I would definitely recommend.

We loved this place! The bartender was terrific and she had won an award for one of her drinks made with asparagus (it was delicious by the way!). The service was very friendly and the food was excellent. The only bummer was that our reservation was a little early and we were seated on the lower level and we were the only ones down there for quite a while so even those it was like a private dining experience, it was a little lonely!

I had lunch here two years in a row. The food is excellent. This years experience was much better than last years when they forgot one of my orders.
