Absolutely smashing. We enjoyed a healthy and jumbo breakfast and the ham, egg and chips. Good coffee. Large portion sizes, quick service, friendly staff. PERFECT poached eggs! And with a 5 hygiene rating it was clean and well maintained. A local gem. Oh and did I mention… PERFECT poached eggs!!!

Back again after a while, it’s had a new kick of paint and it looks fresh and welcoming. Lovely staff to greet you, great breakfast again which I can’t fault. It’s a 10/10 every time I visit which is why I need the exercise to work the breakfasts off lol 👍

Took hubby along for breakfast, he had the full English & I had the healthy version. Each were of excellent quality, hot & looked as good as it tasted. Very busy so don’t be surprised if you have to wait for a table. Dog friendly … bonus.

Food and service are always top notch. Brilliant breakfasts with quality ingredients, which also includes tea or coffee. You can even make one or two ingredient swaps, making it flexible and very good value. Updated decor and interior gives it a great feel.

The breakfasts here, never disappoints! They are by far the best breakfast you can get in the area. The hash browns are always crispy, and the toast is never soggy, it is and will probably always will be my go to spot for breakfast. The staff are always wonderful too, don’t have a bad word to say about any of them

This is a family run business that's been serving fantastic food for years. Standards are very high, with local butchers sausages, free range eggs and decent bread. All the staff and family are lovely, and now they've extended seating outside with a protective marquee, I can bring my dog. Winner!

This is the first time I’ve been here for a long time due to waiting for the restrictions to relax over restaurants in general. I’ve returned to find they have done a amazing job of refurbishing the cafe with very good ventilation and a clean and slick paint job. I ordered what I love to order a Jumbo Breakfast which is just as good as the last time I ate here The staff are very friendly and willing to help at any time. Great value for money and lovely relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend for a cheeky bit of food in the morning if you can’t be bothered to cook for your self.

Love this place. First visit since lockdown and was welcomed with a fantastic refurb! The usual great quality food. Best sausages of any cafe ive been to. None of these terrible cheap catering ones- proper bangers. Richard and the team are always friendly. Get down there!

Had a lovely veggie sandwich with hash browns and fried eggs,only one issue I had was I had a bit of a naff tummy, I’ve had problems before with vegetarian options coming into the same cooking place as meat was wondering if this could be a problem, apart from that lovely service , well priced and yummy sandwich.

Ordered a takeaway lunch from this cafe for a family Birthday and it was very tasty can recommend the scampi the fish cakes and the ham egg and chips! would recommend and use again.

4 of us eat here, three for breakfast one for coffee, all enjoyed it. We will be back. three of us had a standard breakfast with egg, 2 bacon, 2 excellent sausages , beans and toast. black pudding was on offer but failed to see it till it was to late!! Thank you sustaining us till 7pm!!

This cafe is very popular with locals and it is easy to understand why. It is clean and attractive and serves great food! The challenge perhaps is to find a seat!We had two of their jumbo breakfasts at £8 each but you can configure your own breakfast! The staff in here were exceptionally nice. The food was excellent although they close at 3pm on Saturdays. I had a tuna & cheese toastie which was very nice

We go every Thursday to meet up, great value breakfasts which are well cooked with generous portions. You can mix and match just what you want and the cook will dish up just what you asked, highly recommended.

Visited for breakfast as in the area fishing, glad I did fantastic fry up and a great cup of tea. Well worth a visit if your in the area

Went in with my dad for a quick breakfast. We both got the standard breakfasts which were a good portion size. Sausages and bacon were excellent! Young but useful staff that were all smiles. Only minor fault was the size of the mug for the tea, had mine drunk before the food came and had to get another

Came here mid week for a late lunch, and wow what a beautiful little cafe, the food was out of this world each cooked to perfection you can see time and effort had been taken in cooking, couldn't fault anything, lovely staff and fair prices should be more off these cafes around would love one in camberley, although I will be back here for more food for a small cafe it brings big flavour only fault is it closes early i would off loved to come here after work or school pick up with the kids but will come one Saturday. Ps the coffee is also perfect.

Good quality food and quick service. I tried the largest breakfast available and chose the poached eggs rather than fried. The restaurant was reasonably busy, but service was prompt, and the good exactly as I ordered. I would visit again next time I am passing.

Have often popped in for a nice breakfast at the weekend. Always great value and tasty food. Staff great. Would recommend and will be back.

We were in the cafe on Saturday, and we had got there after they finished serving food, (the kitchen closes half an hour before the cafe closes). It was no problem at all, we got our food and as always it was quick service and delicious food. Not only that but there were people who came in after we did and they too were served. Really good service and we will be back.

This cafe is brilliant, they can make you a breakfast to just what you want and the quality and quantity is great. We use this place a lot and have never been disappointed.

We (wife/self) often pop-in for lunch/brunch. The food here is excellent - always well cooked and very tasty! A great and varied menu -spoilt for choice even! I usually opt for a big breakfast, with several different options to choose from.Wife is a veggy and is well catered for in this respect (the staff are always very helpful to offer offer different alternatives to suit her veggy choices) The service is always excellent, in a very welcome clean and comfortable environment.Compliments to all the staff - they always seem so cheerful!! No surprise that this cafe is popular locally as it well deserves to be. There isn't anything not to like!.

Two plus two (3 and 1yr olds) arrived for a rainy Saturday big breakfast pre walk treat! New favourite place for exactly what you need on a wet autumn day. Yum.

I have now eaten here several times, with family and friends. The service is great, food very good and always hot and well cooked. Lovely place for either just a coffee and catch up, or a full English breakfast! Sandwiches are also very tasty. 👍😃

I’ve lived in Yateley for 13+ years but only recently had my first visit to this great little Cafe.

Fairly confusing breakfast menu as you can't get a full English with everything on so have to add mushrooms, tomatoes. black pudding etc as extras which makes it fairly expensive (around £9) but nice enough breakfast, pleasant surroundings and staff

Went here on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Loads of other people had the same idea. So place heaving. Lots of breakfast options from a healthy option to the more traditional ones. When it arrived good food well cooked. Friendly helpful staff.

Had a lovely Cappuccino and a hot chocolate here this morning, drinks nice and hot, full of flavour. Lovely friendly staff.

I often go for the All-day Breakfast. It's good food, well cooked, and promptly served. The mushrooms are absolutely superb!

Lovely clean restaurant tucked away at the far end of Yateley. There is a great choice on the menu, mix and match, or ask for what you want. It is always busy but staff serve you with a smile. Food is cooked well and presented nicely too. We usually go there for breakfast but hope to take our Granddaughters there for lunch this week. We always enjoy going there, thank you.

Exactly as the name suggests! Brilliant place to come for good honest food. Fry ups are brilliant and you are able to create your own. Value for money and clean. Friendly service.

The best breakfast you could ever get placed in front of you good portions and fresh ingredients clean and good value the only breakfast that comes close is a cafe in yorkshire where I lived for 35 years and still visit to see my grandchildren

We are regulars here, usually for a full English breakfast treat. Reliably yummy. Popped in for lunch last week and that was equally good.

my friend and i used to rent decorations out for weddings so we would often have early starts to get to the venues. we went here for breakfast once and never looked back. now we allow extra time just so we can visit short & sweet. highly recommend it

A great place to go for a proper breakfast with real pork sausages from the local butchers.The staff were very pleasing and accomadating.

We decided to take the kids out for a birthday breakfast and remembered this little cafe... And we're glad we did! The food was delicious, the portion sizes just right and the bill was surprisingly small! It got very busy so I guess we are the last people in Yateley to discover this little treasure in Yateley :-)

Staying at a nearby hotel that didn't offer breakfast so googled places nearby, so glad this one popped up! Lovely clean and welcoming cafe. Service friendly, nothing too much trouble and food was spot on. The potion sizes generous and so nice to have a decent veggie breakfast on the menu, the veggie sausages were the nicest I've ever had and the meat sausages were delicious too my husband said. Wish we lived nearer so we could go back again soon! If you are fortunate enough to live in this lovely town I would not hesitate in giving this cafe a chance, they had a lovely lunch menu available as well.

Attended this location on Saturday 20/8/16 and had to wait for some 5 minutes to be served, whilst what can only be described as a youth club going on at the back of the shopOnce the food arrived I was very unimpressed with the quality of the chips which were all hard and overlooked and to be honest were obviously a very sub standard brand of frozen chips, and not pleasant to eat.Rest of the food was ok , but will not be visiting again as especially the prices are very steep for a small business

OK - I'm really not a fan of dogs being allowed in eateries, I feel the only exceptions should be assistance dogs. When we arrived - we ordered from the extensive breakfast menus, there are several breakfasts on offer or you can swap some items or even 'build your own'. The breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked and hot. Not greasy at all. I would visit again, but for the fact that the restaurant is dog friendly and I feel that animals should not be in a restaurant.

Really good quality breakfast which is good value. Only complaint is the lack of customer toilets. We will definitely return but next time make sure the five year old goes first!!!

Somebody I know at work recommended here for breakfast and it didn't disappoint.Had a healthy breakfast with bacon, poached eggs, Brown toast and sausage instead of tomato - and a mug of tea.Very busy and was packed when walked in. Didn't have to wait long and staff although busy very friendly - seemed short staffed though.The we're all sorts in the cafe families, couples and groups.

Went in there for a massive breakfast because I was feeling peckish, and I had heard of this place before. I ordered the jumbo breakfast and it was awesome value for money and out in a jiffy. Absolutely nothing to fault. Would definitely go again.

I've lived in Yateley since 1991, but I only noticed Short and Sweet a couple of years ago. I've been coming here 4 times a week ever since! Excellent food, friendly staff and it's at the end of the road where I live. Couldn't get much better!

Hubby and I regularly pop in and enjoy a breakfast and the staff are ALWAYS friendly and helpful, they are accommodating with fuss pot me and the food is always tasty with good quality produce and ingredients. The seating is comfortable and the place is always spotless.

Nice with good value for money: Yateley is fairly in the countryside but this a short walk from home which is rather useful. seems these days, after a skow start to do a good trade.

Clean and tidy with good service. Food is good at a very competitive price. We have been going to this cafe for a few years and have never been disappointed with the food or service. The only negative thing is they are closed on Sundays.

I work in Yateley and really fancied a breakfast. I had read all the reviews on short n sweet so decided to give it a go. It needed it to be quick as I only have a 30 min lunch break. I got it to go, it was ready in 10 minutes and was absolutely delicious. Not greasy at all and the sausages were fabulous.

You always get a good breakfast and quick service. Good choice of menu for breakfast and lunch. Very clean I Will definitely visit again

This is not a cheap greasy spoon. However, the food is slightly over priced and the seating is adequate. If you want quick food on the go, then it's perfect.

My husband and I visit Sweets quite often at the weekends for either breakfast or lunch. They do typical cafe food at a reasonable price.

Used to eat here once or sometimes twice a week when my son was at Yateley Manor school. Went in this morning... Son away, daughter away... Delighted to say ... It was excellent. This little café run by Sue and her family is wonderful every Sat morning we go there for a cooked breakfast and every Sat its the same WONDEFUL hot everything grease free and as my wife saysits her little indulgent once a week

My son and I have been coming here for the last 3-4 years and 9 times out of 10 it has been spot on. I do agree with a previous comment about clearing away and shutting up whilst customers are still in the cafe which is a little bit annoying. It can also can get quite hot & stuffy inside during summer months due to the large windows.Overall good quality food which after trying out so many other cafe's, restaurants and garden centre restaurants for breakfast Short N Sweet is excellent value.

Always fresh, always friendly, always good quality. Sandwiches, baguettes, baps always made to order with any combination, which is great for fussy eaters who want cheese salad but no tomatoes. In my opinion they offer the best breakfast selection in Yateley. The best bit for me? The healthy slimming world breakfasts and sandwiches.

eat in short and sweat on average once a month for past 5 years, never had a bad breakfast or poor service even on a busy saturday. food is always tasy (espec the sausages) and hot, friendly staff who are always happy to swap the beans/tomatos for mushrooms a small thing but makes for a exceptional breakfast.

We have been to this cafe several times for breakfast and thought it very good value for money and the produce served very good as well.However today we needed a spot of lunch, arrived at 1.50 pm signage indicated that it closed at 2.30 pm all good we thought. Two other people eating so I sat down, my husband ordered our food then we were asked to move as they were cleaning ready for closing.As we had already paid for our food and indeed were hungry we did that, but to be honest it is very off putting to be eating your food with staff sweeping an obviously dirty ( in view of the weather )entrance mat. Cleaning the display cabinets,strong smelling cleaning fluid used to mop the floor, staff on their hands and knees cleaning the table pedestals!Both my husband and I felt very uncomfortable and will not be returning because of this,the quality of the food was as good as ever, but in my opinion if the staff won't to leave by 2.30 then close at 2pm, cleaning such as we witnessed should be done after you are shut.It would be unfair to say that this is a poor establishment because as I stated within the post until today everything has been fine, so was difficult to rate, just wanted to make owners and users aware.

Enroute to Oxfordshire last week I stopped by this gem of a place for a bite of lunch. I was quite taken by the constant flow of people already dining and those just popping in for a take out. I was greeted, welcomed and offered a seat. Nice! The tricky part was actually choosing what I wanted. It was part breakfast, which looked very good (judging on the plate next to me), so opted for a Toasty and cuppa. Superb! I'm coming back for breakfast on my next trip and will certainly go out of my way to go here more frequently. Just to try the fabulous selection. Great atmosphere, friendly bunch - a bit of a gem.Well done.

I pop into Short and Sweet about once a month as I trek to/from London from the South coast or visit friends in the area.I'm a big fan of the Olympic breakfast and so by the look of him is the chef!Jokes to one side, the breakfasts are excellent with quality ingredients for a reasonable price and served promptly with a smile from friendly staff.

Have used this café several times now as it is undoubtedly the best one in the local area. The food is well cooked and presented. The fact that there are lots of customers that come back on a regular basis says it all ... well done.!

Breakfast at Short n Sweet easily stands out above the crowd and delivers one of the best traditional 'full english' dining experiences I have ever had the pleasure of eating. The food is presented in a freshly simple and tidy manner Sausages specially selected by the owner are meaty worthy of special note. The Cafe itself is bright and airy and is often very busy.
