Popped in here for a few drinks as we were staying near by ..it’s no frills local pub.. friendly staff and drinks half the price cheaper than any other in the area .. great if you fancy a session on the beer and want to watch the match .. it’s the place to go

Visited here whilst on a short break in Caernarfon.Wanted to get a real ale but avoid the crowds of kids in the Wetherspoons and the expense of the Black Boy.Nipped in on the Tuesday- but no real ales were on despite 3 pumps being on display !We tried again the day after when the real ale was on offer at £2.30.It made up for the night before !There were 2 ales on ( hobgoblin and hobgoblin gold ) and both were excellent.It had a good informal atmosphere and is more of a locals pub than a tourist one. Nothing wrong with that.Was nice to visit a pub not prioritising food too.Recommended for a proper pint and no kids creating havoc !

Stayed for a night in Caernarfon and came across this cosy pub, decent pint and Rugby on TV, great friendly bar staff, clean toilets, not overpriced, good bar snacks, will definitely come back for more next time we are in the area 👍

This is the best place in town for a drink while you watch sport. By day or night it's a great venue. The drinks are reasonably priced and the service is friendly. I was here all night once while watching the boxing from Las Vagas; the local crowd were a good laugh and I felt very welcome.

Visited recently and was made to feel very welcome by both the staff and the customers. Everyone was very friendly so went in a second time that night.

As a regular on a Sunday night there is always an excellent atmosphere. A wonderful selection of drinks a good number of varieties of gin and cocktails. From 8 o'clock there is a poker school, where you would be welcome to take part. A new jukebox and karaoke system and plenty of sport on television. Jamie,Wendy and Adam are brilliant behind the bar. Very clean pub at all times.

We found this pub open on Christmas Day evening as we were visiting over the festive period What a lovely atmosphere . Well worth a visit

Small, simple and plain. Stop in for a pint and avoid all the hype and "glamour" that so many pubs try these days. A refreshing change for us!

A good place to rest on your way around the town. The drink is reasonably priced and this little sports bar is a gem. You'll find locals here and they're a jolly lot on the whole.

I have visited here before & although I enjoyed myself the last time I came, this time however was so much fun. We had a good mingle with the locals, Jamie behind the bar is a good lad, we wish him & Wendy all the best. Good Beer, Good Jukebox, Good Selection of Sports, Fantastic atmosphere & very friendly locals, what more could anyone ask for.

Following a lovely meal we needed some more beer and stumbled across this nice little pub. The staff and locals were very friendly and the beer was exactly what was needed. Thanks.

This pub is a true find. Once you'be been in once, you will keep going back. The staff are friendly and the locals that are there as regulars always offer a smile. They have good deals on cocktails etc and a good jukebox which is...

If you are looking for an authentic little cozy bar this is it. Friendly patron and great sitting. Good prices as well. It's a must only for the cozy atmosphere.

Pleasant enough pub, friendly bar staff, the music was a bit too modern for us. We only went in the one time as there was no Real Ale on tap.

We called in after a fairly solid walk around town, hungry and cold! We soon warmed up with the hospitality of staff and locals alike. Our Aussie accents were like a golden key for a good chat and a beer with some really great people. Wish I had a pub like this close to home! Oh and the meals were huge and the right price!!

Popped in here before our curry next door. It was pretty quiet when we arrived even though it was almost 8 o'clock but a few more people arrived as we were leaving. Good central location, pleasant bar staff. What did impress me was that a man with his family called in to see whether they could come in and watch the rugby and were greeted warmly and told 'Yes' - nice touch I thought

Popped in for a drink. Staff and locals stopped speaking Welsh amongst themselves and had a chat with us. Would be a good place for a "session".

Cathy( The lovely Lena's eldest Daughter's had her Hen Night at the Pub last night. We left at about Eight Thirty but everyone looked like they were having a ball. The Buffet was very good and the Music 'Cheesy', just what you need for a great Party. If you are looking for a more intimate place for your Birthday Party, Christening etc you should let Lena give you a quote.

What a pub!!!! Popped in one evening with my family and a lovely young lady was behind the bar. ( i understand now what they mean by the singing barmaid) she was so helpful even gave the kids some paper n pen to keep them entertained. All the locals joined us in with the conversation and yes they do speak welsh but we did decide to come to wales for a holiday so obviously their going to speak their language.Found one comment here very unfair as we have already booked our next holiday to caernarfon and we as a family hope we bump into the lovely barmaid.Ship and castle we shall be down easter holidays thanx for the welcome :)

Great night at 'The Ship' yesterday. It was Glyn's (Our Fantastic Quiz Master) Birthday. Everyone had a really great time. Lena outdid herself with the wonderful Buffet, Thanks Lena it was really tasty and so much of it, you are a star. Thanks also to Glenys for organising everything and it was great to see you and Glyn having such a fun night.

We called in on the way back to our hotel on the first day for a quick drink. The pub is nice and cosy and has a good, friendly atmosphere and the drinks are really reasonable. We liked it so much we called in 4 times during a two night trip.

Called in for a swift cider and we stayed for quite a few.Full of friendly natives with great staff and a really cheap jukebox which made the place rock!!!

Yes they really do supply fresh ice. Wonderful cold fresh beer, and the barmaid is always singing apart from when she's at the Celtic.

Excellent service with great value for money. Warm welsh welcome. Landlord went to get me fresh ice, this has never happened in any pub before. Definitely recommend this place!

Spent weekend in Caernarfon in June for the Real Ale festival and stumbled upon this pub on the Friday evening; what a great find! Friendly locals, good beer, great atmosphere - may not look good from outside but give it a try for the warm,friendly atmosphere inside will win you over; this is how a good pub should be run.

Great bar, great welcome, great staff,excellent locals.Alf & Lena run by far the best Bar for many a mile.Looking forward to returning.

Stopped here for a few beers, loved the quaintness, atmosphere and the singing barmaid, try it. A small cosy bar atypical of a small town, enough said, full of character!

Lena and Alf are reopening the Kitchen at The Ship and Castle. Good news for Caernarfon, bad news for our waistlines. Lena's home made Chips are legend and the Pub is a really great place to hang out.

'The Husband' is The Captain of The Dart's Team and got a Three Darter last week, whatever that means? Lena, Alf and all of the Staff will give you a warm welcome. Thursday Night is Quiz Night and Glyn is The Quizmaster, he's very good. The Ship is not 'posh' but homely and welcoming. They no longer serve food, a shame as Lena's homemade Chips were legend. You will arrive as strangers and leave as friends.
