Shinner & Sudtone in Sutton

Sunday lunch looked great but didn’t taste so good. Beef tough, roast potatoes bit hard & gravy sweet. Table so sticky our glasses stuck to it! Decor more Shabby than Shabby Chic!

Love the place. All bar staff are excellent at their jobs and always make me feel welcome. We often book a table for the pub quiz, and it’s always a highlight of our week. Even when I was late for my table/messed up my own booking, they have been helpful and just overall class.

Friendly bar staff , good service , clean and comfortable seating. It has a quirky decor which I love . The food is also very tasty .

We hired the upstairs area for my 60th birthday party. It’s an ideal area for 30-40 people and has lots of character. The area was set up really well and it made it easier for everyone to get to the pre ordered drinks and food . Everyone said the food was really good and that they enjoyed the evening . Thank you for Josh and the team for helping make this a great night for all.

I booked the Loft area of the Shinner & Sudtone in order I could hold out monthly staff engagement social event. The venue had a great atmosphere and the bar staff made us feel very welcome. It will not be my last visit to the Shinner & Sudtone.

Really great quirky bar both in decor and staff. Good selection of beers at okay price. Ambience was excellent and door staff not overpowering and in your face. All in all a very pleasant evening and I would definitely go back again. Thank you

I had booked the upstairs area for a small gathering for my birthday. It was set out well, and was a good size for the 30 or so attendees. I had also arranged a spread of food, which went down very well with the guests. The area has speakers but you can bring your own ones if you want different music to the rest of the pub. All in all I would recommend it, it's a good size function room, laid back atmosphere and nice food and drink.

Food here is always amazing - this visit we went for the Sunday Roast and just like previous occasions it was super tasty and cooked to perfection. Staff are always very friendly and make you feel welcome.

Visited this venue at lunchtime on 15/04/23 Lovely Bar..friendly staff and a nice ambiance. If I could have afforded to stay longer I would have but at £6+ a pint it was out of my paygrade. The toilets were a disappointment but the rest is good. We left after one pint and went into Wetherspoons next door where we paid £3+ a pint and had a few more pints and some food.

Made to feel really welcome immediately, with drinks brought to our table and a treat for our dog! Such warm and friendly staff. Decor is great, much more interesting and special than most pubs. That’s why it’s our favourite!

Food was good, Unfortunately no starters as new head chef just started so was only Sunday roast but was was good, hot cooked to perfection. Enjoyed by all. Not really a place for children as far as food concerned. But they enjoyed the roast chicken.

Slow service, expensive for what you get. Last orders 9pm, told to drink up at 9.30 & again at 9.45pm by aggressive staff. Suppose to have a 2 hour slot, website giving false information. Definitely will not be returning !

Came in for a booked lunch after lockdown and it is still the best pub in Sutton. Seated really quickly and the staff were attentive and polite. Great to see that there was no loss of service since lockdown. The food came out with the same quality and speed as before and we had a great time. Sad to see that the staff had to put up with some members of the public who were less than polite and annoyed that a week in to opening they couldn’t just walk in. The staff handled them really well.

First time back since lockdown easing. Sat outside it was a glorious day and we had a lovely view. Staff were really attentive and friendly and they managed to keep cool when the odd covidiot turned up. Pints v. cheap and the food was great (highly recommend the beef brisket croquets).
