Shawarma King in Glasgow City

Had a the chicken bbq, mixed shawarma wrap, Turkish kebab on rice and mixed chips. Everything was delicious. Chicken bbq used chicken thighs so some pieces were fatty, which I love, but my wife doesn't... so I got to eat most of her order. For the amount of food it was very reasonably priced. Bit of a wait, but the food was hot and fresh. When I'm back in Glasgow will definitely grab another lunch there.

Every time I drive past it looks busy & qued out so I was fully prepared for the wait. Luckily I came in when there only four or five ahead of me. I picked the chicken BBQ wrap . Staff were what you’d expect at an establishment like this, busy & off their feet but nonetheless welcoming. Only downside was the wait for the food, approx 15 mins so I’d hate to come when it’s busy. The food was delicious & I can see why it’s been crowned the title it has. Not my usual type of eatery but I would pick this over a lot of fancy restaurants that serve the same type of food. If you are thinking of trying it, please do you won’t be disappointed

The food was delicious, I will be back again for dinner to try more from the menu. I had chicken shawarma which I couldn’t fault it, and my brother the bbq which was so so good. I wish I was here for longer this would be my local spot. Yum

The shwarma king is a noble and honourable leader. I am entranced by the quality of the meat. I especially like it when they make the bread in the nice fire barrel. Literally had a piece of metal in my SHWARMA meal and didn’t even care because it was so delicious. I am very happy with what I received from the shwarma king. Fatoosh.

Was looking forward to trying here as its always busy but found my mixed shawarma wrap to be really fatty & chewy meat. Don't know what the hype is about.

Best Kebab in Britain 2 years in a row.. been wanting to try one for ages. Give me 2 options, fancy restaurant or a decent kebab, I’d take the kebab every time. You would think it would be a guaranteed kebab going her but unfortunately not. Ordered a chicken and lamb shwarma. Nearly every piece of meat was just a big clump of fat. It was the worst kebab I’ve ever had, very disappointing.

Ordered regular Chicken shwarma for 2 and Hummous and naan bread starter, 100% best I’ve ever had, would highly recommend, it’s busy but they get through the orders as quickly as possible, now I know why the queue is always out the door, not to be missed, treat yourself to the best Shwarma in town

I came from london and tried this place..firdt the location wad awful and dirty...ordered the lamb wrap ...wasnot great at all .it was full fattty things that you cant eat and dygest it. Full of Flesh. more expensive than London!!! Not recommended. See attached disgusting

Brilliant. Everything you want the food to be it is. The chicken was so well cooked. I had the BBQ, my wife the Chicken shawarma. It was all glorious Even the salad which accompanied it was great. Absolutely recommend

The chicken used is full of skin and fat. It’s simply impossible to not into it without getting a mouthful of chicken fat. Tasteless. They should advertise on their menu that the chicken has skin on it.

Glasgow has lots of fantastic places to eat, even nearby we hsve the 13th Note and Bucks Bar. Please down get sight up the the hype and go somewhere you will be treated both like a proper customer and have food that you can really enjoy

Well well well was told to try this place waited in. Queue then got wraps and chips up the road and binned the lot chips were all hard and black and wraps had no sauce and who knows what meat was used definitely not chicken trust me will not be going here again 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Arrived to find a crowd outside on a Sunday evening at 530pm. I realise these were customers waiting for orders. I entered the shop and there is menus on the side and pictures of popular dishes on the wall. Also there is a giant menu billboard outside the shop. Once I ordered and paid for my food I was given a tix with a number. I waited outside the shop along with the crowd. It was around 30 min wait until my number was shouted out. We got the loaded fries, which came with chicken and lamb meat and cheese. Very heavy dish and was enough for two small eaters. Good portion for £7.50. We also ordered the wraps. Hard to taste the difference between the chicken and lamb. The meat was well cooked ,moist and had subtle flavours. It was missing the char taste from the rotisserie. But I imagine it being so busy the meat didn't get a chance to. The wraps were £5-5.50, good portion size. Worth the wait, not quite. But would visit again if it's not as busy.

This was a tasty spot very near where we stayed. Great prices and delicious menu options. Would suggest placing order in advance if you can but not a bad place to just hang out while the food is readied. Good deal!

Fab find. Lots of people waiting for their order and easy to see why. Very generous quantities. Reasonable prices and very fresh. I have tasted many good shawarma in other countries and this one didn't disappoint!

Absolutely disgusting. The chicken wasn’t cooked properly. It was slimy, grey and smelled awful. We binned the whole thing. When I tried to contact the company on Instagram they blocked me. Waited ages in the queue and it was absolutely disgusting. I still feel sick...

We come here at least once a week. Get the same thing as it’s always, usually consistently good, not tonight. The kebab was freezing, chips where reheats and full of fat. So disappointed. One bite and in the bin. Put me right off.

My brother and I got a regular falafel wrap and it was amazing. The regular size is pretty big and even if we got there being pretty hungry we were full afterwards.

Forget cheap donars as served at late night, Post night club Turkish take always. The shawarma wraps served by the Shawarma king is proper tasty food. Very authentic and reminiscent of those I have enjoyed in the Middle East. Very good indeed.

Hidden gem. This is the best kebab ever, lamb shawarma tastes better than my mother's christmas lamb. High quality of ingredients and fresh product, bread is a must. Sauces like tahini, yummy.

We visited the Edinburgh branch of this company. It had just opened so we thought we’d try it. I’m glad I did. My other half had the Lamb Shawarma wrap and loved it. I had the baba ghanoush which was delicious and something I’d wanted to try for ages. We fought over the felafel and hummus and the freshly made naans straight out of the tandoori oven were the best I’ve ever had. You can sit in and everything is good quality fresh and almost all made on the premises.

What is not to like. If you think your having a kebab your so wrong. My husband loves the lamb, I’m a chicken fan just get it how it comes for a taste sensation. The falafel and humous wrap is just as good as the meat version. Well worth going out your way for a visit and for the price is very cheap.

food good, too much sauce leaving nan very soggy and wet, still eatable. service poor, people who came after me got served before me, everyone was like this, it was rather confusing.

This is a tiny shop that you might easily miss. It’s is well worth hunting down as we had the best kebabs we’ve had north of the border!!! The meat is excellent, plentiful and very well seasoned. The salad was fresh and delicious and the chilli and garlic sauces topped it all off perfectly. Served in a freshly baked flat bread too. We will be back!

If your looking for Halal food this is your place. The Shawarma is great. They have Kebab Sandwiches as well they are as good as the Shawarma.

We headed to the place for a quick bite. Simple place, good prices, tasty shawarma and the regular size was very good (portion and prices)for us.

We were searching for chips at midnight after great gig in Barrowlands and came across this place. Really hungry and REALLY excited to get the most amazing falafel wrap. Really big and generous, with lovely fresh flat bread and less than £4. Whist I was at counter my daughter was sitting at table outside chatting with two Glaswegian men, and it turned out that 6 years ago, one of them had been to the little place we live in Wales and heard the choir I sing in. How's about that then?

Shawarma King is a name that I have heard time and time again as one of the best kebab shops in Glasgow, and after finally visiting it, I can see why it has that reputation.

The chicken shawarma wrap is simply the best kebab in the world. Malik provides great service we sat in and had a strong black tea. It’s always busy all the food is great fresh and soo tasty. The falafel and hummus is so tasty also. A must visit food stop.

I had heard such great things about shawarma king but was left very disappointed after trying it for the 1st time. The night we went there's was no lamb so went for a chicken shawarma which in my opinion wasn't nice at all also got a tub of homemade hummus and that was tasteless although the freshly made naan got pass marks. Primera vez aquí, pero recomendado por un amigo, fuimos en un mixto de pollo y cordero con ensalada y mayonesa de ajo. Relación calidad-precio. muy sabrosa y buena, no solo a la vista donner carne un costillar de cordero y cortes de carne fresca de pollo, sin duda en la barreras de goo por más si en la zona. .

Oí hablar de este lugar en el trabajo y decidí darle una oportunidad. Así que me alegro. La comida es muy buena y, a diferencia de los típicos kebab ofertas de compras. No esperes el típico chilie caliente kebab, estos son sabrosas y sentirse saludable! Disfruté muchísimo de mi comida desde aquí. ¿Por qué sólo 4 * el humus y el wrap era overseasoned poco sazonada pero que podría ser algo personal. En general, un gran lugar que fuera del camino, pero las colas para la comida son un indicador de la calidad.

I had read about this place in one of the Sunday Papers and decided it try it after a few drinks. It is fairly small with a few tables and chairs outside. It is def a takeaway. The kebab choices were great and what we all had % of us, was all really good. The guys are v helpful if you don't know what is what. A lot of ethnic people were eating here which must be a good sign. Reasonably priced too. One small criticism perhaps the wrap is a bit big which makes it seem like a lot of dough, I just pulled some off so the meat to bread ratio was better.

Firstly no delivery available when I phoned the Paisley shop in Glasgow Road to order (rather strange considering it's a quiet Wednesday night) secondly when I say okay I`ll collect,I try to place an order for two Adana kebabs,only to be told that the only thing left on the menu is a chicken BBQ kebab (even stranger considering this is midweek and hardly a busy time)

Having been told this place does the best kebabs in town and sometimes the queue is out the door. I thought....hey let's give it a go. Totally blown away, very friendly service and food is to die for. It's a proper wrap, nothing falls off and goes all over the place and it its really filling....as in you'll need a wee nap after it.

Para mi decepción me dieron una envoltura que no era mucho más grande que mi habitual envoltura la mitad de precio de £3? Así debe ser en el sabor? No era equivocada, de nuevo mejor que de costumbre, el cordero era un poco duro y duro y no estaba preguntó qué ensalada y salsa si quería en él normalmente. En general, quedé decepcionado de lo que recibí en el doble del precio mínimo y se pegaba de tienda habitual shwarma de ahora en adelante.

I always disliked how doner kebab is called shawerma because they are totally different things! This place makes proper authentic shawerma with the right bread. The only criticism is the use of garlic paste for the red meat because it should have tahini. However, would recommend as it is by far best I had in the UK.

Saw a review of this on a page on Facebook and thought I'd give it a go - absolutely amazing! Honestly, don't think I can ever go back to eating that meatloaf style on a spike meat again - the meat in this takeaway are easily recognisable and fresh be it chicken or lamb. It was the first time going tonight and the chef could tell form the way we were trying to work out the menu. He was top notch, talking us through the food and the things that he liked best - we went with his recommendation, the chicken shawarma, one regular and one large and they were perfect...honestly I have tasted nothing like it before that claimed to be a kebab. It was so flavourful and wasn't overpowered with a spicy sauce, so hot that you couldn't taste anything else. It was balanced and perfectly cooked. The chef even gave us a small box with the chicken and the lamb with sauce on it for us adults to try and a wee plain bit of chicken for our wee one to have a crack at,,,beautiful and really thoughtful to do that with us so that we knew if we were going to like it. Pick any superlative you like and it can be used to describe this place - go on give it a try!

Generally I'm not a big fan of take away food finding it expensive & not particularly fresh, tasty or healthy.I drive by Shawarma king all the time & I was intrigued with how consistently busy it is despite being on the outskirts of the centre of town. I went and ordered the mixed (lamb & chicken) shawarma. It was incredible!! The meat fell apart & was very flavoursome. It can be seen cooking with the juices & marinade evident. The wraps are cooked to order- nice & chewy. The salad was great too. For only £3.50 it's fantastic! The place is also very clean as seen in the open kitchen. The service was very friendly as well!I will be back & intend on telling others to do just the same!Enjoy...

This place should really come with a warning, very addictive stuff. I'm not typically a kebab fan, however, this place with everything including the breads made on-site, has changed my mind.From the charred, sticky, soft lamb to the crunchy fresh, herby seasoned veg, this place knows it's onions.Also seem to be staffed by some really sound people, the first time I visited, the owner was sorting out an older local boy, clearly very the worse for wear with some free food and drink.

Don't be put off by the outside of this take-away. Inside you can see the kitchen at the back, which is stainless steel and judging by the number of people ordering food, one could tell it was good.We had a selection of food for 4 people including, lamb and chicken shawarmas, (nicely spiced with five spice) in home-made wraps, minced lamb kebabs in a wrap, two salads and falafel in a wrap. It only came to £31.It was very good and worth a visit.

Fantastic wee place, great friendly service, but most importantly it's the single best kebab you can get in Glasgow. Not your usual kebab "meat" - these guys are the real deal and use marinated chicken/lamb, skewered together and cooked in the traditional manner. Proper meat, freshly made wraps, fresh veg and then toasted to keep it all together. Gem of a place.

an absolutely amazing restaurant serving halal shawarmas and kebabs. set up by a Syrian Kurdish refugee and you can see he puts his heart into making the meals. really good value for money, £3.99 for quite a large shawarma, will deffo go back there when I visit Glasgow again. really friendly service too. simply amazing! and very well located very close to the river Clyde.

Been here a few times, it's a good alternative to the usual Indian or Chinese.The food is more Turkish/Middle Eastern.The shawarma wraps are great value and great taste, nice fresh salad too (£3.50 and it fills you) The mixed grill is a bit over-priced for what you get but again is very nice and a varied selection in it.

Located near St Enoch Shopping Center, Small takeaway but the food is very cheap and service amazing.From time to time I visit and you can get a Mixed Shawarma for £3.50 fresh and sizzling hot, Cheapest in Glasgow and great value for money.Food is of very high quality compared to others and I would give this takeaway 10/10.
