Shamrat Indian Brasserie in Maidstone

Lovely lovely lovely. I can't rate this restaurant high enough. 5 stars and many more added on for the hospitality and the great food they serve. Superb again guys. See you all again next month.

We visited Shamrat for a celebration meal on a Monday evening. We were immediately shown to a table (we hadn't booked) and from that point we were treated so kindly by the wait staff. The food was excellent, with an impressive range of delicious dishes on offer. Particular highlights were the paneer masala and the excellent naan bread. The food was cooked and served with care, and I had a wonderful time - we will surely return, and I won't hesitate to share this place with family and friends when they visit Maidstone.

Lovely Food, attentive staff, great atmosphere and very helpful with a birthday celebration. We were last here 15 years ago, it was really good then, and I am pleased to say till is! Thanks

Well established restaurant on the Maidstone curry house scene. It's been here a long while for good reason - excellent service, very attentive but in no way intrusive. The standard of food is also great - well presented and very tasty. I did feel the food was pricey, but you do get an excellent all round dining experience.

Went for hubby's birthday..on arrival in bar area was seated immediately,lovely waiting service.excellent staff great atmosphere. Was very busy but nothing was too much trouble.different world when the food was at our table.amazing evening..

Kept waiting nearly half hour in overcrowded bar area without any acknowledgement from staff. Very poor service. Am shocked, used to be excellent there. Our group of 10 all said we wouldn't return. Only saving grace is that the food was excellent

Been in here many times, always a lovely welcome and am excellent service. We booked in on a Sunday afternoon last minute, our waiter Younus was absolutely great, dietary requirements were all taken and dishes were recommended. This place is top quality for food, service and atmosphere, definitely recommend.

Great people, great food they made me feel welcome. Fitted me in at short notice and really looked after me and my friends can't wait to come back for some more delicious food.

We are regulars at the restaurant for both dining and takeaways and there is no Indian like it! It’s a clean fresh curry, 100% recommend. The service is amazing, always friendly and welcoming.

For a Wednesday evening in late January the restaurant was almost full. They had a table for two tucked in the corner. Great welcome and ambience. Super food and service. Highly recommended.

I ordered Lanb Biryani for collection, it came with veg curry and was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Really yummy with loads of flavours in it, meat nice and tender. I'll be ordering again 👌

Went back sat 16t Dec had not been for a couple of years but was well worth the visit .All 3 courses were excellent was very busy but the service was great and the staff made sure we was happy all night .Great food def going back in the near future !

I live in Scotland and came down to Maidstone for the night and saw the great reviews online for the Shamrat, so thought we would give it a try. We were not disappointed! One of the best curries I have had in a very long time, service was quick and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Will definitely be back if in the area again

Tasty mix grill and chana take away. I did add a note to the notes section which was missed. Was happy to pay any difference due. Update 30/11/2023. Have had a take away a fair few times now. The taste of the food is soooo good! Great work!

So I had never ordered from here being the amount of competition there is in Maidstone and that I tend to just stick to one place. Having been let down I decided to give this place a go. I had heard great things. Now I have been ill and didn't really want to eat but my partner was dieing for an Indian. We wasn't disappointed. I managed to eat most of mine. It was just that nice. I had the jalfrezi which is so fresh and full of flavour. The meat is tender and a far cry from what rubbish I had got used too. My partner loved it too. She mainly has vegetarian sides and was over the moon with her food. Needless to say we probably will be ordering again tonight, it was that nice. I didn't take any pictures but will do next time.

The Shamrat is the best indian restaurant in Maidstone and is always my go to restaurant when I go for a night out on the town. The food is amazing, the staff are very welcoming & attentive. Nothing is too much trouble and this restaurant is always full which tells you how good it must be. Great food, great vibes, highly recommended. See you all soon Shamrat. Paul

Absolutely fantastic Indian restaurant. Brilliant food, brilliant service and brilliant atmosphere. A good old fashioned high quality dining experience, just like it always used to be! Highly recommended.

Was very lucky to get a table so couldn't fault them really. But it was busy and stuck right in corner so the customers were loud but that is to be expected.

Waren an einem Montagabend hier. Mussten etwas auf unseren Tisch warten und dort wiederum sehr lange auf unser Essen (1,5 Stunden ca.). Das sehr höfliche Servicepersonal bot und Getränke auf Kosten des Hauses als Entschuldigung an. Die Qualität des Essens war wirklich unglaublich. Haben selten so gut zubereitetes und qualitativ hochwertiges, indisches Essen gegessen. Der Tisch war fein eingedeckt. Große Auswahl an Weinen und auch das Speisenmenu ist vielfältig.

A fantastic meal as usual and staff always go over and above . Was priceless to take my 2.5 year old granddaughter there for the first time. Thank you Li for looking after us as usual .

Been going to Shamrat for best part of 18years now...it gets better and better. Front of house staff always professional and prompt. Food is something else. In my opinion its by far the best Indian in Maidstone, easily. Keep up the standards and good work!!

Visited today (Sunday 1 May). First time this evening and won’t be the last! Food was excellent, lamb jalfrezi with a taka daal (with the addition of red chillis!) is a must. Friendly staff. A busy night but handled well. Will be back!

As i was working in maidstone for a few weeks i asked around what was the best indian restaurant, the Shamrat was the first for many, myself and two colleagues went and had a fantastic meal and a chat with i presume was the owner or head chef.The food was delicious, the staff were first class and we will certainly be back before we move on.

Nice restaurant and good waiters. Food is extremely expensive and some dishes like the saag aloo not really worth it. Mutar paneer had mostly peas and not much paneer. Lamb buna was nice and naan was good. Mum enjoyed the lassi.

Ordered a takeaway had friends over, really nice food top quality ingredients what a shame it was all cold we ordered at 6pm it arrived at 7.40 and it wasn’t all there. You need to up your game guys!

Food was just OK, the waiter had a poor attitude from the start as if it was a hindrance us being there. Even though their was 10 of us, when we ordered poppadoms, they gave us 22 without asking how many we wanted. They also charged for the chutney and sauce that came with the poppadoms which is a first for me. One of the dishes was far two salted and had to be replaced. After spending over £360 a complimentary drink would have been a nice gesture which has happened in all the other restaurants we have frequented over the years. Sadly will not be dining here again.

A lovely meal here tonight. I used to be a regular but haven't been for years for one reason or another. Nothing has changed, the restaurant is cosy, staff are all extremely friendly and attentive and the food is awesome. I asked for a special dish not on the menu and they did it without question. I will be returning again very soon.

Chose this restaurant as we love a good Indian when we’re visiting somewhere new. Absolutely was not disappointed! You know a restaurant is good when all the tables are full, and it was busy, but we still had excellent service, the food was delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great. Can’t fault it at all, highly recommend!
