Shahi Mahal Takeaway in North East Lincolnshire

I had my birthday and was looking for an Indian takeaway. I read the reviews from other people but a friend that is a regular customer has recommended Shahid Mahal. I am delighted to say it's the best Indian food I have ever had. Generous portions, delicious, hot,and the actual place it's spotless. I give it 5* no questions asked. Thank you.

My absolute favourite place to order from! I order from here a lot and then pop and collect! The staff are fantastic, welcoming, friendly, and even walk you to the door on the way out! THIS IS A TAKE AWAY ONLY. Used this take away whilst we were staying with friends in the area and need a quick meal. Ordered by phone and collected 20 minutes later in person. Good food, good price and no fuss. Would recommend.

This place is a hidden gem, the fact they don’t deliver speaks massive volumes simply because... they don’t need to!! Lived in the Cleethorpes area for a good few years and would always happily travel the 5/6 miles,this place is the dogs doo das, without a doubt the best Indian take away I’ve ever had. One slight issue and I mean very slight is the chips are not very up to standard but how can you complain about chips in a Indian take away but other than that the food is faultless

To be open this long under the same ownership says all you need to know about this outstanding establishment. Top class food which is superb with very generous portions, very friendly and efficient service. Only takeaway in England that I know doesn’t do home deliveries wow, speaks volumes. We happened to pass by and stopped after checking out reviews. It did not disappoint. Great food, lovely service with quick delivery for us to take away. The chap even walked us to the door. Super sized onion bhajis with a killer lime pickle. Still not sure about the coconut though! No pictures taken as too busy stuffing our faces but well worth it!

A fantastic family run takeaway! Been coming here for years the food is always full of amazing flavours. Plenty of choices so something for everyone. Very polite staff love the way they treat the customers such as opening the door on the way out. Highly recommend.

Been using this takeaway for many years. Amazing food and very generous portions. I have family who live in Manchester and every time they come down a visit to Shahi Mahal is a must, that alone says a lot. Even though they don’t do home deliveries it’s definitely worth picking up, you won’t be disappointed.

Best Indian takeaway in town. We have had several takeaways from here and have had various dishes off the menu and they have never been anything other than fabulous. Staff are always extremely polite and friendly. Keep up the great work!

A friend recommended this place and oh my word! It is fantastic! Loads of meat and veggies in each curry. Had korma, tikka masala, Baltic and a naga to fit a family of four adults varying tastes and every dish was perfect. Will be back!

We needed a good Indian meal but to eat at home. Shahi Mahal really fitted the bill. Polite staff, who were honest enough to tell us that our large order would take a long time to cook, and recommended us to come back later to collect it. Great tasting food, excellent veggie options. I have used Shahi Mahal for many, many years and can say without hesitation that it is the best Indian take away in this town. The food is always fresh, deliciously spiced and in good quantity. The guys who work there are friendly, welcoming and have an excellent insight into their products.

I have come to this business for an Indian for a while. The food is always outstanding and the staff knowledgeable. The staff are able to provide comprehensive advice to those who are unfamiliar with the food. The food is outstanding. This is the best Indian in Great Grimsby. The only downside is that there is not a restaurant to eat in!

My order was set at 7:35PM however Shahi Mahal delayed this by 1hr 30mins and the food wasnt even good blood.

I ordered an indian from here the other night for myself and my wife as it's our local indian and we always use it.

My brother in law is a curry guru and recommended the Shahi Mahal to me. Me, I know my curries and have taken the time to eat from many parts of the world. Today, I ordered a Mr Naga lamb vindaloo,,- yes I really do like it hot! My wife ordered a chicken Ignore Jal Farazi ,,,,Guys, at the risk of never getting an order on time again, if you have not tried this facility, and you like a good curry, TRAVEL and get one. The staff are so professional, they smile when you go in, they are masterchef accredited are the food is the best I have ever eaten with regards to takeaway curry. I really do say our meals (we have been there 4 times now) are exceptional 5 star!

Our first visit last night, really impressed with both the food and the service. Each dish was delicately flavoured, and it was no problem to get a vegetarian version of a meat item.Well done Shahi Mahal, we'll be back soon.

The food is fresh and with big chunky pieces. I was waiting for about 20 minutes fro. Order to takeaway. Staff offer a cup of coffee whilst wait, open door for you and take pride in the takeaway. Great meal. Only downside the chips were a bit chewy and cold as if they have been stood around for a while.

Having tried the Helal in Louth the staff recommended the shahi mahal takeaway as it's the same family owned.How two places can be so good it's unbelievable the food the staff its just as good the flavours are absolutely second to none.Am I glad I found these two places as they are now my regular Indians.see you soon one happy family thank you..

We recently used this takeaway as our usual indian takeaway was closed, after reading reviews we were more than happy to give it a go! Our expectations were fairly high due to other reviews and the quality of our usual indian (paprika tandoori) however, one dish seemed more Italian than indian, the other dish was lamb which was very tough, the cheese naan breads had NO cheese! Chip portion very small. Nothing was awful but after reviewers claimed this is the best indian takeaway in grimsby we were very disappointed .

Me and my partner have been coming here for quite a bit now. We always order a meal for 2. As we wait for our food we have two coffees, which the staff politely offer us. When we get our food home it tastes absolutely awesome!!! Credit to staff, it gets better every time!! Best indian in Lincolnshire would highly recommend!!!!

This brilliant curry house serves excellent food. Have had many takeaways from here all the dishes are well presented and full of flavours and the portions are very generous. The front of house service is exceptional, very courteous and friendly different from other takeaways, the lads even carry the food to the door for you which I think is a nice touch. I highly recommend this great establishment.

I've been here 3 or 4 times. It's excellent curry. I've visited India and this is as close as you're going to get to the food that is served there. Super fresh and not one bit greasy, Friendly staff. Would HIGHLY Recommend!

Gorgeous food, don't have it very often but every time it taste amazing. I always have the lamb tikka and it's juicy, just falls apart and the sauce is gorgeous. Highly recommended

First time takeaway visit here as recommended by a friend for the consistency and i thoroughly enjoyed what I ordered. Garlic chicken plus onion Bahji. Went in Friday night as I fancied a curry. Got my curry home there was that much bone in the chicken I could not eat it. It did not state that this meal was on the bone. It was even big bits more like bits but it was in every bit. I rang them to tell them they said pop in and we will sort it. Went in on the Saturday and they offered me a curry far enough but I said please can I have a refund to that the young man got very funny ran off to ring his boss came back and said well chicken does have bones in it. Well yes but only when stated which this wasn't. Gave me my money back for my curry but not the bread which I didn't eat because I didn't have a curry. You try and support local but incase never again. Very rude.

My partner introduced me to this takeaway a year or two ago as I always used to use another one. I will never visit anywhere else other than here now because the food is delicious. You can tell the food is great quality and the service is first class. Thanks for the super service. See you again soon

Not used this takeaway in a while but decided to give it another go late on a Saturday night. I was pleasantly pleased with what we ordered a chicken jalfrezi and a chicken pasanda as for sundrues we had chilli naans which where not the best but the saag aloo was excellent. Would recommend giving this local indian a try.

We have had many take always from this establishment and everyone has been enjoyable. We have tried other Indian take always in the local area but keep returning to this one.Fab food.

The best Indian takeaway anywhere, good friendly and efficient service, the food is always top quality, well wrapped and plenty of it.

I am aware that this may have been mentioned before, however, it speaks volumes that an Indian takeaway can still thrive without a delivery service, and has done for years now. In my opinion the food here is unrivaled in Grimsby, Cleethorpes and surrounding area's. I am a massive fan of Indian cuisine and have a basic understanding of how it is cooked. This takeaway is cooking old school, traditional Indian food which is packed full of flavour. They do not have to adhere to gimmicks of banquet set meals which inevitably all tastes the same. Lets delay the alcohol, pick up the food and support excellent establishments such as this one.

You tend to think do some of these people get paid to do these over the top negative reviews. I have been using this establishment for quite a long time it is the only takeaway in Lincolnshire that does not do home deliveries I think that speaks for itself, they always seem to be very busy at the weekends. For me it's always been about consistency, which this place has been. Amazing food service with a smile.

The food here in my opinion is one of the best Indian takeaways in the area! The service is personalised as a regular and the homely atmosphere when picking up your Indian is enjoyable. Recently the order has been incorrect once getting home which has been annoying but they rectified their mistakes. If the Indian did delivery the service would likely be more popular.

After a 20 mile round trip I wish I hadnt bothered, the food isnt good, there are many other places far more deserving of your hard earnt money, when I arrived home there was oil or ghee all over the bag which has soaked into the poppadoms rendering them a inedible soggy mess, three items we had ordered and paid for were not given, my wife wanted a vegetable dhansak which contained only soggy overcooked potatoes and slimy runner beans, the only firmness to this meal were the 30 plus slices of garlic, basically it was soup, the nann bread was undercooked to the extent it was raw in places, even the rice was an oily mess, a phone call got an apology with an offer of discount with my next order, why would i order again?, they dont deliver and refused to bring my missing items.When i called back i asked them to describe the dhansak and it didnt bear any resembalance to what was served, they have taken my money and not given me what i ordered, this is paramount to theft and i will not return here.

Been using this Take away for years never fails to disappoint, indian food at its best. Service second to none, always polite and friendly, coffee while you wait and the food is stunning. Would definately recommend to all curry lovers.

To say worst I've eaten maybe pushing it as I didn't eat more than 2 mouthfuls before realising it was very poor quality chicken not to mention blander than cardboard. The chips where still frozen in the middle. The naan bread was undercooked and sloppy. All in all I would say avoid at all costs.

easily the best food and service from any indian in town. food always perfect and reasonably priced. at weekends the waiting area is always full which is always a good sign. dont bother trying others, this place is the best and is open every night
