SEN BBQ in Newport

I used to purchase lamb shish wraps from SEN BBQ & they are delisioso! I've now tried the lamb shish meal which comes with rice & chips or both and salad with some Turkish bread. This is now my favourite. Need to try their lamb chops too and eat in. I love a decent shish kebab and I'm yet to try better in Newport. Definitley recommend.

Shocking service. Ordered 3 wraps turned up hour later 1 wrap missing no apology just that “we can send the other wrap with next driver” took my money back off driver and gave them food. Waste of space ✊🏻

Prices have risen to £8 for a small lamb doner, which was 40% bread(thick wrap). Poor value!

I bought lamb wrap I was served lamb meat was cut it before in bucket I believe it was left over from previous I took when I opened at home meat was so hard like two days old cooked meat I was served bread was ok but stuff was not good inside did not enjoy meal at all

The staff are very efficient and polite. They asked us if we needed anything every little while. The 🍔 burgers were juicy and filling and the 🍟 chips were hot and crispy. The ambience was very good too.

Best kebab we have had this side of the bridge! We come from Bristol and Manchester so we miss the good food and kebabs have just been something we have not found decent anywhere. Finally all of that changed! We had the mixed special in a wrap and diner with chips and it was all delicious. Food was ready nice and quick. A little bit pricey. But we will be back for the taste 😋

Awful had 2 kebab wraps and it was tasteless and not a patch on marmaris in risca never again 😔😞🤢

I had to call to enquire where my order was as it was 1hr 20 mins late. The rude man said it was on its way and hung up. Both the chicken shish and mixed shish wrap were tasteless, hardly any chicken and disappointing. The chicken wrap was totally inedible due to the amount of sauce placed on the wrap which made the wrap so wet, you could not pick it up as it fell apart. I rang up for a refund and the same guy was so rude, obnoxious and argumentative stated that I could only have a refund if the food had not been eaten, I said we had eaten some, but how can tell if the food is inedible and tasteless if you dont try it !!!! AVOID THIS TAKEAWAY AT ALL COST....

What happened to your food it used to be so much better let go of the standards by the looks even drunk I didn't enjoy it

Well what can I say I ordered a doner Kebab when opened up It looked like road kill, not fit for human consumption, I’d not even feed to my dog ! Avoid like the plague, worse food I’ve been given

My post work out haunt.. I only have chicken rice and salad but EVERYTHING on the menu is delicious and cooked in front of you on a HUGE bbq.. Lots of specials and home made bread, literally a must visit

Waited a long time to try this place and well worth the wait. One of the best kebabs I've had. My wife who doesn't really like kebabs, loved the chicken doner kebab, particularly, the bread. I was shocked, as this was the first time she has ever said that. Can't wait for the next visit.

I'm disappointed with ethics of this place. I have ordered food from Sen Bakery and Grill, my wife went to pick it up but she ended up in Sen BBQ place (wrong shop) which is on the same street. Orders did not match and also prices of the food. My wife asked if she is in the right place and if there is another place called Sen on the street as her food order is pending, they told her that there is no other place on the street and they were very happy to take a new order, which my wife did in all of that confusion. After some digging we found few shops down the road was another shop owned by the family member (competition) with order waiting for us. We did not want to be unfair and my wife went to collect another order too, after discussion with Sen Bakery and Grill, they were very kind and insisting on not giving her duplicated for us order (even though they were the ones who took the order first). They made a loss, hopefully food will not go to waste. Well done Sen Bakery and Grill. Not so nice attitude of Sen BBQ.

Ordered a lamb doner kebab, got home, opened it up and found what I can only describe as dog food. Not lamb but chicken for a start, very poor quality, very chewy, hard and full of fat, I think it was the scraps out of the bin, and the bread was so hard it was crunchy, 2 mouthfuls and £12 went straight in the bin ! worst takeaway food I have had in my life ! Will never go there again !

First time buying and found a hair in my salad. Food actually tasted nice though but the not for the price and won’t buy again.

The service of this shop is horrendous. I asked the worker to cut the naan bread nicely and he ignored me the first time. Then i asked him again and he said the he cant do it also said that they don't have time to cut the bread which literally takes less than 30 seconds. At the time the shop was also empty so he had no excuse for it. I don't recommend this restaurant.

Oh where do I start, I haven't been here for years and I mean years. But yesterday I thought go on spoil myself. I took my granddaughter in and was met by 3 jolly men who were so happy, gave me a warm welcome and served me with the best meal I've had for a long time the lamb kebab was so juicey and very filling, couldn't eat it all but my partner loved his.

Average food tastes nice prices gone up

Open for breakfast now! Came with wife ,tried soup (kelle -paça) , delicious.

I usually enjoy the food. I told them to deliver to me and not give my food to my neighbour. They gave it to the neighbour. Complained. Didn’t understand at all the safety concerns or the reasonable instruction to deliver to the person who ordered and paid for it. Rude again.

My go to place for BBQ, grill and Donner kebabs. It's fresh and delicious.

Our CEO ordered food for a business meeting. The food was good, but this 1 star is for the coarse person on the call (was a she) that treated him wrong: he is not British despite speaking English fluently have an accent (she kept pretending she didn’t understand him), he asked that want to pay online via an SMS code, as the code never arrived he called back, and she said he needs to pay cash, he said has no cash at all and she said in this case she would cancel the order. Guys, first, you cannot treat a customer like this; secondly, it is against the Consumer Act (read the law) to not take card payment if the customer’s option is this. Please behave your lady on the phone as is not right.

Great food and fast service. I always have a good kebab from here. The diner is clean and you can watch the meat being cooked and served out. There is a good choice of salad and sauces too.

Ordered a takeaway for fathers day , the food was really poor, chips were re heated anf my iskender was really poor, burnt meat Very little tomatoe sauce and the yoghurt sauce tasted off. The food is not cheap and i am really dissapointed. My wifes and sons food was poor also.

They don’t even deserve one star. Absolutely rude person doesn’t even know how to serve or talk to people. After packing two naan breads the guy got upset me when asked if it is hot and refused to serve me saying ‘there’s no bread brother’. I didn’t go there for free food. Learn how to treat your customers first. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Will never visit again.

Absolutely rude people in there. Visited on multiple occasions and they treat you as if you get items for free and as if they are doing a favour on you even when you are paying. Highly arrogant! Stopped coming here anymore.

Used to be my favourite kebab house to sit in or takeaway but last two times I’ve gone they’ve lowered the portion size whilst increasing their prices and the staff seemed a bit flippant and less friendly, I used to drive from Pontypool especially to get one but I won’t bother ever again.. gutted

Been coming here for a long time.. always good food and service.. boss is nice but unfortunately spoke to one of the rude staff over the phone and he’s rushing the order saying he’s busy. I’m sorry but that’s not good enough. Also got order wrong.Won’t be back til it’s sorted.

Both Doner kebabs, the first one went through me like an intercity express train and that lasted for about 12 hours and last night I asked for a medium doner just meat with sauce. I got home and they hadn't listened and had put bread in the box which I cant eat (bread is cheaper to bulk up than meat) and the meat itself was quite simply horrible it was tough as old boots, no flavour and I left over half of it. Really disappointed. I may try them again but there is now far better alternatives close to Wetherspoons in Maindee. Get a grip SEN BBQ its not good enough

Forgot my garlic and chilli sauce on my bbq box meal phoned them up they said they would phone driver and phone me back but they never did totally spoilt what would of been a nice meal as it was just to dry and lacking the flavour I'm used to left most of it and fed to the dog

Haven't been for a while, but had my favourite, the full mix on Sunday night. It easily feeds a hungry family of four, possibly five if you have little ones. Honestly, it's like a round of the Generation Game trying to remember all the variety of meat you get in there. A quail, lamb chops, chicken wings, chicken and lamb shish, lamb kofte, loads of mixed doner meat all laid out on a bed of rice. Accompanying that lot was a big mixed salad, about a yard of their amazing flat bread and pots of garlic and very spicy chili sauce. If that wasn't enough, a creamy rice pudding was thrown in. There's only one thing better than eating that lot, and that's the leftovers for lunchtime the next day. All the smoky meat juices have soaked into the rice and the chilli marinade gets right into those juicy wings. So, people of Newport, if you have to make an essential journey over the next few weeks, make sure you make it here.

Terrible attitude of the boss.. made a telephone order. They gave wrong order so they said bring it back. Changed it went home and gave us half the order. Called the boss back who was so rude and actually swore at me. It’s disgusting my 91 year old mum wasn’t happy !!! So deffo boycotting this place and so is family and friends.

Ordered a large kebab and had about 5 pieces of chicken in it absolutely disgusting food I will never return to this place again I found flys and also hair in my food, I will be getting onto trading standards about this, I would suggest no one eat here

Exquisite food! Fabulous service and also good value for money. I would strongly recommend the Iskender, and the Guvec (stew). Works really well if there are a few of you and you order the same number of dishes as people and share them between you.

Amazing takeaway from here tonight- ordered a Beydi and mix doner and rice. Food was hot, tasted fresh and beautifully grilled meat. Delivery arrived on time and driver was polite- thanks very much!

I ordered a takeaway and was quoted £22 which is constent with the online menu. Daughter picked it up and was asked for £36. When she protested the manager agreed this was wrong but still charged £25. When food opened at home, (10 minutes away) the ribs were ok but small number, the breads were dry and cold, the chips were stone cold and undercooked tasting of raw potato and the salad was soggy. I know they were busy but no excuse for overcharging and then providing apalling qulaity food which was cold and undercooked. We threw most of the food in the bin. NEVER EVER AGAIN - WASTE OF MONEY.

Friendly staff and delicious HALAL Turkish food. They have a sitting area at the back and takeaway/collection at the front. I recommend trying the meat platter and pida. They also serve lovely Turkish tea and sweets at that end of your meal if you sit in and eat.

Best BBQ wrap in Newport. Hubby had his first wrap and you didn't disappoint me Sen....value for money all the time.

Absolutely disgusted with the service i received. Came in, ordered food, waited 15/20 mins, and they forgot to make my order... keep in mind i’ve been going here for over 5 years...

My friend & I visited this evening for a sit down meal, I have always rated Sens the best in Newport but was very disapointed to find they have down graded on the garlic sauce, it is now a very thin & almost tasteless sauce & it did spoil my meal. #pennypinching.

Lovely delicious food as usual , and the Turkish bread is to die for ! Waitress first class , nothing was too much trouble. They have put their prices up since last visit but great sharing platters and an abundance of food . Can not find fault if you like great food in a nice cosy environment.

Had many takeaways from here before but had my first sit in last week. It's small and cozy and the food was fabulous. And the lamb donor is actual meat not the processed stuff you get in other places.

Returned here after a year or so and I'm pleased to say the chicken shish is still cooked fresh over the charcoal grill and tastes great. The chicken doner we also ordered was tasty and served with a choice of salads and sauces. There are a good choice of hot & cold starters too. Personally I prefer pita style bread rather than flat bread but it still makes for a good take-away.

I’ve been using this place since it first opened with original owner over 10yrs ago. Over the last year or so they have gradually been putting up their prices to the point where it’s just plain greed. How can you justify £9 for 2 skewers with a bit of salad and rice??? (Takeaway mind....) I drove past last night (Friday) at around 7pm and it was empty - I suspect this will be an increasing theme if they don’t reduce their prices down to a more reasonable level.... To give some context you can have a chicken platter (whole chicken/ rice / salad / chips) for £13 at Perilicious!!
