I’ve been going to Sen for many years. In recent years the prices have gone up but with cost of living it’s understandable. I’ve never had a bad meal at Sen and the customer service is always friendly and you are welcome with a smile. Decor isn’t the most stunning but the food more than makes up for it.

We just had takeway once and it was not a good experience. First calling in the order was a chore - for some reason they did not understand the word hummus so after some back and forth we had to skip that. The chicken shish wraps were not flavourful at all. It was big but very bland and expensive (I think almost £10) . We also did not get salad or bread with the orders which was apparently complimentary. Sorry not for us.

Best Turkish food I’ve had in wales so far. Highly recommend. Fresh tea on arrival, meat being cooked in an open kitchen and served for us to taste while we waited for our order and the owner is a diamond! Wouldn’t go anywhere else in the city.

I've had takeaway from here a few times now, and the food has been consistently excellent - best kofte kebab I've ever had hands down, and the chicken shish is good too. Not only that, but the service is friendly, and mint tea while you wait is a lovely touch. It may be a touch more expensive than the average kebab shop and miss the convenience of being available on delivery apps, but this place is good enough that it's worth making the trip!

It pains me to write this review because for many years I have been a regular customer of Sen BBQ, but tonight I experienced what can only be described as daylight robbery. I ordered one large chicken shish wrap , one large lamb shish wrap and one portion of chips with cheese. It cost me £28 and when I challenged the price I was told that they had put their prices up recently so the price was correct. When I checked the price on their menu it was clear that I was overcharged by £4. As much as I love the food from Sen BBQ I will not be going back there now because the price on the menu was less than what I was charged. I feel really disappointed after being a regular customer for some time, not so much about the price rise which I can accept, but more about the fact that the price I paid was 20 % more than what was quoted on the current menu. My advice to anyone is to definitely check the price properly before you pay.

Best kofte I have eaten (and I’ve eaten a lot). Will be returning often. Excellent quality food and good value. Great service. What’s not to like!

Up til now take aways have been about curry or pizza for me and I love them both, but am not always in the mood. And then someone told me about Sen BBQ. What a wonderful place. You can eat in and it looks lush in there, but my favourite thing is to get a take away - succulent meat, rice and salad and garlic sauce and the owner's home made chilli sauce. Absolutely delicious. It is always jam-packed, so you need to be prepared to wait, but it's worth it. The ideal take away for me on a Friday night - absolutely delicious, and healthy too! The kids love it cos they can have the same meat but in a wrap with chips.

Just moved into the area and had takeaway, will be going back again and again! I had the kofta and chips and my partner had the mixed shish. They were so delicious and very generous portions! 10/10

Best £43 i'v spent! First time ordering for myself and my family, we all had chicken shish with rice and chips, meat was very tender, rice and chips tasted great too! I rang up and ordered over the phone and the gentleman who answered was very polite and friendly! Definitely recommend! Will buy again!

Can't recommend this place enough. The decor is perhaps an acquired taste, but the food is amazing! The service is great! AND - it's bring your own - great for a group of friends! We can across Sen BBQ randomly and what a gem we found. All 4 of us had chicken kebabs and all agreed it was the best one have ever had! This is definitely going to be our new favourite takeaway!

Just been back to sen with my son for a sharing platter lush as always and very reasonable can't understand people moaning about paying a pound for water tight if you ask me very friendly staff and welcoming

Been going as a family for years, my kids love it, especially the bread, there Full bbq platter is good value, with a side of chips, we are all in for about £25. BUT all has changed, where we normally have a couple of jugs of Tap water with our meal, NOW they don't serve tap water, it's bottled only, so an extra £8.00 on water, well I'm sorry, if your letting customers bring in there own Wine and Beer from the supermarket across the road but you won't give my kids a glass of water, I'm afraid you've lost our regular custom. Plus the family next to us were also discussed when told they couldn't have water, they even complained to the owner to no avail. The poor waitress hasn't even the heart to say sorry we don't serve Tap water, she just brings you bottled hoping you don't say anything, last time I didn't but this time I was spending an extra £8.00 on water.If your not on a budget and can spend money on water then the food is lovely.

Have lived in Canton all of my life (40yrs+) and always trekked over to Troy for my kebabs. Always thought Sen was a dodgy kebab joint. Got recommended to use it and very glad I did. Excellent shish, koftes & Turkish sausage. Looking forward to trying the other offerings they have. Both Troy & Sen offer great food so i won't compare but the wife says Sen pips it!

Recently paid Sen BBQ a visit after hearing good things about the food. Had two chicken shish, one with rice, the other without and all the trimming to take away. Both were absolutely delicious. Never had rice with a shish before but really added to the taste. Bread was lovely fresh. Staff were lovely. Had a complimentary Turkish tea while we waited. Restaurant looked nice. Will be back.

The food here, whether take-away or eating in, is fantastic. Not only that, but the staff are so polite and welcoming, they'll often offer you a cup of delicious tea while you wait.

I have had take away food and sat in to eat. The lamb kofta is delicious wrapped in the homemade flatbread with lovely salad and their homemade chilly sauce.

We visit regularly. On Saturday we had a takeway meal. Senna serves the best Turkish food in Cardiff. The meat is always delicious and the salads fresh and tasty. The bread is fantastic. Great choice including shish, kebab, kofta etc etc.

Ruth used to go to this restaurant when they had a branch in Newport, but over 4 years later and since we’ve moved to Cardiff, we have nothing but loved coming to Sen! Every part of the menu is so tasty, you get a great sized portion and its really affordable. The staff are always really nice too. We love it and will definitely return on many future occasions.

I have had a few take-a-ways from this establishment which were wonderful. Today was the first time I have visited the restaurant and the decor is different, warm and welcoming as were the staff. My family had the chicken and I had minced beef all cooked on the bbq which came with rice, salad, onions and beetroot and a basket of Turkish bread which was lush. To start we had the yogurt and bread. It was all cooked to perfection. We received a Turkish tea at the end and that was really refreshing. I can't wait to go back here again for the warm welcome we received and attentive staff throughout our stay but more important the wonderful meals we had. They do not rip you off for the drinks either a water, cola and fanta are only £1. A big thank you to this establishment, you will be seeing a lot more of me in the future.

Love the chicken shish from here. The chicken is always cooked perfectly and is so tasty. Staff are always friendly and happy. If you are offered a tea while you wait say yes, it's Turkish tea and it's amazing!

The food here was amazing. I don't eat kebabs, and it does look like a kebab shop when you first walk in but the food here is nothing like a cheap kebab. It was so good that we took the left overs back to the hotel and ate it later( too good to waste)

This has to be one of the most popular eat-in and takeaway spots in Cardiff - and there's a very good reason why. It's amazing. The food is cooked to perfection, all from fresh, comes in large portions, at reasonable cost. I've never had a bad or even average meal. I've mostly had takeaway but I have also eaten in the restaurant (same menu). The guys and ladies who cook and serve the food are probably the friendliest I've ever encountered. They've made a lot of friends, from office workers, to tourists, to students, to police officers on their meal breaks! I once turned up to pick up a takeaway at the end of a long day of physical chores and a night of broken sleep caused by a teething baby - the owner not only offered me some cheery words of encouraging advice but also slipped a free rice pudding into my bag. How's that for service! Everyone can also expect a complementary cup of mint tea whilst they wait for their food, which is a fantastic touch.

Food was amazing nice decor very friendly service. We ate chicken wings lamb chops and chicken beyti really well cooked see pics. Definitely one to recommend if in the area and if you're a Muslim looking for Halal and proper Turkish food this is the place to be

I have been coming to Sen for years. They serve the best tasting kofta kebabs in Cardiff. They also do an array of chicken and layered lamb. The salad is always fresh and the home made chilli sauce is outstanding. If your in Canton this place is a must go.

This place is amazing, only came across it by accident and there food is great freshly prepared in front of you and service it a smile... always offer you free Turkish tea whilst waiting for your food. Brilliant

This place is literally around the corner from us and us a regular choice for us, usually once or twice a month, for a take-away.

First experience at Sen BBQ and would definitely recommend this place. Used the restaurant - great touch with BYO wine.

The welcome we received was lovely, honestly couldn't have wished for nicer people - which gets you past the first appearance of this place. The front looks like your average kebab shop, but at the back the restaurant is cosy and comfortable.

Decided to try this place as I drink across the road, the food was really nice and the extras with it complemented the food very nice, however for what you pay for what you get is over priced

My wife and I have visited Sen on many occasions over the past year and we will keep going back. We’ve tried everything on the menu and haven’t been disappointed. Both the takeaway and sit down menu are fantastic. The Full Mix sharing platter is a magnificent eating experience and the prices are very reasonable. The owners and staff will make you feel welcome every time. You must try this place!

It looks like a regular kebab shop at the front but there is a little restaurant at the back. The food is great, we've tried shawarma and the mixed plate with everything on it, the hummus, the delicious flat breads, various starters and it's all delicious and great value for money. It's our go-to place for kebabs and middle eastern food.

Went in here for a mid drink kebab and was pleasantly surprised. Was expecting the obligatory greasy kebab full of lettuce but actually got a really tasty ‘wrap’. It was that good we actually went back for seconds later and duly got offered a lovely cup of Turkish tea to accompany it! Fully recommended and will definitely return on our next night out!

I love a good kebab but this is not your typical kebab house. Local friends took me here last night and i have to say the quality of food is 1st class. Lamb was sooo tasty.

On the way home from Cardiff and I was Starving . Dropped my niece off in canton and had a quick search to see what was still open with good reviews we decided to give it a try .... Wow what a find ... probably the finest Kebab I have ever eaten. Lamb Breast grilled and beautifully seasoned home made bread with lovely Fresh Salad... this review does not do the food justice it just has to be tried. We will certainly be back.

Doesn't look much from the street, but behind the take-away counter at the front is a quiet little restaurant serving delicious food at great prices. Portions are generous and the meat is lovely. I had the lamb shish and there was no gristle or excess fat. Flavours are excellent and authentic. The waitress was charming and friendly, offering never-ending glasses of hot tea. They don't appear to have a drinks licence, and as a consequence the atmosphere was calm and gentle. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

Came here while I worked in Barry. From the front this place looks like your standard take away.. but they have some seating in the back that's not bad actually.

It s easy to walk past here not realising it s a restaurant because the front is a chip shop. Go through to the back to find a nice little room with about 8 tables.Turkish menu with English dishes such as steak and seabass with chips, onions red cabbage and strangely, rice,Both dishes 10 pounds. Dishes such as Chicken shish 8 00 You can also BYB with Tesco across the road.

We have known the guys who own this place for a long time from their time in Maindee in Newport, to now relocated in a busy location in Cowbridge road in Cardiff. You can't fault their customer service it's always been on point and faultless. The food is superb and absolutely authentic tasting,portion sizes more than enough and prices very favourable on a budget. Well done Hoja and the team.

Delicious takeaway chicken shish kebab. Probably the best I've tasted to be honest. Chicken is cooked fresh. Bread for the wrap was equally fresh. The wrap was packed with lots of delicious flavour. Team was very friendly - we were offered Turkish Team while we waited for our order. Would return!

We had the mixed shawarma and thought it was absolutely delicious! We go to Mediterranean eateries very often and their shawarma was definitely the best. Amazing hummus, too. With free BYOB it's amazing value. Will definitely return!!

I visit Sen BBQ at least once a month! The food is fantastic and the staff are lovely, I mainly have takeaway as the restaurant is a little cramped and dark, but again the food is always amazing, as are the staff!!

Had a few platters from here now and they are up there with the best of the best.. didn't like the quail in there so they took it out not a problem and replaced it with another Kofta.. Cannot speak highly enough of this place EXCELLENT

Called in for a takeaway enroute to the cinema but we ate it in at the tables in the takeaway bit of the shop. It was a bit of a wait as they were really busy. It was worth the wait and we had good size portions. One mark off as the food is a little on the oily side and it would be good if they offered a slight discount for takeaway.

Visited Sen Bbq few times in the last couple of weeks and every time I was amazed with quality of their food as well as superb customer service. Highly recommended place and finally good place to go for kebab in Canton!

Lovely Turkish food. We had the sharing platter with lamb chops , chicken and lamb koftas with rice gorgeous bread and sauces. It's also a bring your own bottle which is great. Food was very tasty! Will be back again soon.

i tried this lamb wrap, the staff told me that they made it everyday with fresh lamb, at the moment one of the best from cardiff, i really enjoyed and i will be back for sure

The mixed wrap with real lamb fillet just makes this place sensational! Spend most of my time going here instead of cooking! And the staff are majorly friendly they offer you tea while you wait and always remember you. Would recommend to anyone!

Took my two kids here as apart of a package of introducing them to different food. They both found something they like which is pretty easy as there is a lot of grilled meat. It was a bit spicy for the younger one but that is not necessarily a problem for anyone over 8. Desserts were limited. The staff could not have been nicer and that really made the visit a great experience.

This is such a great place to go for authentic Turkish food. It is almost like being on holiday in Turkey.

I stumbled into this place after visiting a few of the near by bars in the canton area. What would probably deceive most as a common kebab shop is actually a very nice little restaurant. We chose to take away our food and were meant to feel really welcome while waiting for it to be cooked. Every customer that placed an order whilst we were waiting was offered a cup of Turkish tea.

A good place if you like meat. Cooked fresh for you there and then and it is really tasty. It's cheap and there are plenty of options on the menu. The decor is a bit dated but that's not a problem. The waiter was lovely and did his best for us.

The boss and I have been meaning to visit Sen for ages and, finally, we could wait not longer. We closed the office early, parked in the nearby pay and display and walked in at about 4pm for an oddly timed late lunch/early supper.

A large group of us went there on a saturday night and it was exactly what we wanted. BYOB is always a winner, and the food is really good for it's price. Very friendly staff, lovely hearty food and very tolerant of us the drinks were consumed! Thoroughly recommend, I shall certainly be returning!

Don't be put off by the name or the look of the restaurant - the BBQ bit is nothing to do with sickly southern American sauce! Before you even get to the bamboozling menu choice, you are struck by both the humour and friendliness of the staff and you'll be offered a good cup of Turkish tea in a tulip glass cup to help you decide even if you're only there for one of their wonderful takeaways. They could do with some English translations to go with the Turkish titles of the food but they bare onlky too happy to help and advise. The feta rolls are an excellent starter but one of the things that sets this place apart is this is the only place I've found in the UK serving REAL Turkish doner made with proper lamb (you can see the layers of meat) and not something processed that looks like dog food, which you see elsewhere. Ditto the chicken. The home made wrap style bread they serve it in with a lovely medley of salad and sauce choices makes a nonsense of doner kebabs being and unhealthy choice just for the drunk on the way home from the pub or club. This is proper food served by lovely people.

Went for the first time in Feb on a weekend in Cardiff - so good we ate there twice! Without doubt one of the best kebabs I've ever had. I don't want ppl to think that this is just a late night kebab stop on the way home, which it can be if you want, but this place is a genuine proper middle eastern barbecue.
