I went to Selections Coffee House to service their Fire Extinguishers. Even though I wasn’t a customer these guys were really on point, very pleasant and helpful. Having worked at the back of house in many restaurants and cafes across the UK, let me tell you that the standards of cleanliness and hygiene are exceptional. I could literally have eaten my dinner off the floor !! Thank you all for making my visit so pleasant and easy going. Amazing..keep it up.

Fabulous! We had cappuccino and hot chocolates which were nicely presented and delicious. Staff were friendly and professional. We have been a few times and enjoyed each visit. The interior is modern and smart and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The coffee shop area itself and the toilets were spotless. Each time we have visited it has been very busy with people eating and just having coffees. Highly recommended we will be returning soon!

four friends out for lunch have been here a few times in the past no problem at all. But today my friends meal had a very large hair garnishing the top of her meal, she cuts into her Sausage and the middle was a little pink could of done with another few minutes cooking and to top it off her egg was under cooked . When Rachel went to see someone about it she was told it is impossible to undercook the sausage . I 've heard of fairy tales but this porky beggars belief .And to top it off being rude to my friends as we were leaving was the last straw you even refused her money back . Wont be coming back .

We go to Selections as the staff are wonderful- always smiling and prepared to go out of their way to help. The food is varied and consistently good. I have not spoken so anyone who failed to enjoy their experience here.

A friend and I were initially at another cafe but unluckily for them, they had a power cut when we sat down that they couldn’t resolve, so we came here instead. Had not been here for food before but I think we’ve found a new favourite! the coffee was superb (very frothy and creamy) and the breakfast was delicious. Will be coming back again. Very friendly staff and cosy, inclusive atmosphere.

Upon Visiting this cafe today I was shocked after ordering a omelette of bacon and onion to receive a dry thin omelette full of chunks of red onions and slithers of bacon. The omelette was left by my daughter who could not eat a meal with chunks of onions, not sliced or diced but chunks. I have eaten in this cafe regularly over the years and yes found it overpriced for Port Talbot but today I can safely say I will never eat there again. When you are confronted by a young boy who I presume is the son of the owners to state why didn't you tell us you did not want chunks of onions in you're omelette! I have never had to inform a cafe or restaurant when ordering food to cut the vegetables to a size where they can be digested before. At £5.95 for a bland tasteless thin omelette predominantly full of raw onion chucks is beyond me. The rudeness by the young manager also upset my daughter. To be asked was it tasty her answer no bland and that was because she had no cheese in it the manager stated! I think there are other flavours could be used salt, pepper seasoning. Think Gordon Ramsey needs to pay a visit

Food excellent excellent service. A very welcoming place to visit well with a popping in. I have a eaten here a few times always had a great meal.

A place I’ve overlooked for ages but it’s a lot treasure! Great coffee and wide selection of decently priced food offerings in pleasant surroundings with attentive staff. Well worth a visit.

Consistently good food. We visited recently for the Christmas dinner and it was exceptional value at £7.95. Everything was piping hot and really tasty. Really great service and a friendly welcome.

Lovely place, Wandered in here just over a year ago by chance and haved used it whenever in Port Talbot, whether its just for a cuppa or lunch, Nice to see good old fashioned values with fast and friendly service. Excellent value and plenty of choice on menu and always different things on the specials board, and not forgetting homemade cakes, Always a friendly welcome.

Visited this morning after shopping trip . Cold outside so fancied some hot soup . Not disappointed with carrot and coriander soup and crusty roll. Wife had the usual baked pot and cheese. Well worth a visit never had bad meal ....

Went on a Saturday with a friend for lunch . Really enjoyed the meal and it was good value .We both had home made corned beef pie , mine with chips his with salad and both were lovely and with a big pot of tea for two it came £16.50 so very good value . Despite the fact I live here id never been before but will certainly go again .It was lovely and clean as well and service was quick and friendly . Well worth going if you are in town either for lunch or just a coffee, glad I went.

Went in for just a coffee ended up having a homemade corned beef pie, chips peas and gravy and jacket potato with cheese and beans. Absolutely fantastic service and food highly recommended that all I say do not walk past it’s a hidden gem in Port Talbot town.

As always, a great lunch at Selections! Great food served quickly by friendly staff. I had a jacket potato with cheese and there was enough cheese for two! My friends omelette was HUGE and delicious ! Would recommend,

Popped in for some food family of three while taking a break from shopping. Child's portion of chips, chicken strips and beans were thoroughly enjoyed by our 12yr old son. We ordered roast beef dinner each. Very nice devouered them. Only criticism is the jug of milk spills as you pour for your tea and no gravy on the veg it was only put on the meat. Would visit again. Also amazing Yorkshire puddings. Very friendly and clean premises also toilets available

Called in mid morning for a coffee and tea-cake. Tasty good quality tea-cake, nice cup of black Americano ( prefer mine a little stronger).Very nice environment, clean and airy with friendly staff. Plan to try their breakfast when in the area next.

Had steak pie dinner, everything was cooked to perfection, excellent service, friendly helpful staff. Reasonable prices. Will definitely visit again

Won't lie, great food and service.

Having lived in Port Talbot for 60 years you get to realise that first appearances don't always show the truth. Selections is one of those places. very low key outside to be followed by very modern interior. This is a very pleasant place to eat. Food always cooked well and served by very polite staff. No matter if your after a hot or cold meal you cannot really go wrong. Time waiting for meal was more than fine and I am a stickler for having to wait longs times. This could be a regular haunt.

Visited on a Saturday morning so it was very busy. The service was very prompt. We didn't wait long for our breakfast considering it was busy.

My favourite cafe in Port Talbot town by far. The food is lovely and good value for money. The customer service is excellent and there is a nice ambience within the cafe. A perfect place for lunch with friends.

Wandering around Port Talbot, thought I would try Selections. Really friendly staff and good selection of products. Wel worth the visit. Will be going back very soon.

Another beautiful lunch, my son had salad bowl with chilli chicken and I had jacket potato with prawn cocktail. Even the side salad it comes with has that little bit extra

Always visited this cafe when we go to Port Talbot, however we will no longer as it has changed in recent months. The meals are not so good. Also staff are not as friendly as they used to be.

Selections has recently changed owners but the quality of the food has not changed. The Christmas dinner I had this week was delicious and at £7.50 good value. I usually visit once a week and there is a great choice of meals and different specials every week. The cakes are displayed by the till and always look very tempting. The service is always efficient. A really great independent cafe.

Having time to spare in Port Talbot this morning, I decided to look for somewhere to have breakfast. I checked out most of the cafes in town before arriving at Selections in Station Road.

I visited Selections Coffee Shop last Friday and had one of their specials - fresh herb breaded fish and chips. It was amazing ! Glad the new owners are keeping up the high standards that this establishment is known for. I'll be back again...

Have eaten in this restaurant regularly for years and never had reason to complain.

Well worth a visit for a quick snack at reasonable prices. Fair menu and the staff are very friendly.

went today to meet with some old friends. the cafe is lovely and clean, and quiet a nice atmosphere. the staff are okay, although i didn't feel that they gave much of a welcome.

Dont select selections cafe in port talbot. A friend and I went there and at the counter she was told, " only drinks now no food". We sat with our coffee and at 3pm a member of staff opened the door leaving the cold air rush in. We turned to each other and saw that the staff were behind us moping, cleaning tables and putting chairs on tables. Not once did anyone say that the cafe was closing. We were made to feel really uncomfortable and more that a little annoyed. I think customer service needs to be looked at before I visit there again.

Fab place, one of the best cafes in Port Talbot. Food is also lovely and the staff are very friendly. Prices reasonable too.One of my most favourite place to eat.

We come here whenever we are in port Talbot, the staff are lovely the food is very good as well as the coffees. Everyone is always so chatty and friendly especially Lynette who always stops for a little chat before she carries on running around doing everything. Would recommend anybody to come here, even if it's your first time you'll definitely get the personal service

I visit there 2 times a week with family. Staff are lovelly and friendly. Never had a problem there till today. The door of the cafe was open and I asked if it was ok to close the door because there was a cold draft coming throught the cafe, I was told that the boss would not let the door be closed. We sat there for a while and then I got up and closed the door because 5 people complained that they were cold. The the boss rang the cafe to tell the staff to open the door which she done. There was 8 people who was cold and 4 complained to the boss who was there before we got thereand he told them that other shops had their doors open. Finished my tea and left. not a nice way to treat paying customers.

Breakfast was okay did not fill me up but wow really expensive for 7 items and a cup of tea. Thought the serves could be a bit more friendly. Guy on the till was good.

Richard & Vicky spoil all their customers with fantastic service, food, coffee & in helping the local community. I love having breakfast & lunch there whenever I can. Even their gift shop just a couple of doors down from the cafe is filled with unique & tasteful items. Call in if you're ever in town. You will NOT be disappointed. :D

First trip to Port Talbot and I don't think I've ever seen so many independent cafes in one parade of shops! All looked equally welcoming and were all busy with early lunchers and mid-day coffee drinkers. We popped into Selections for a quick coffee and Welsh cakes. The place is spotless, bright and cheerful. Great coffee and delicious looking home-made cakes. Efficient service from friendly team.

Popped in for a bit of lunch. Friendly welcome, placed my food order at the counter, and was advised to collect my hot drink at the adjacent counter.It seemed like only minutes before my food was on the table as I hadn't even got my drunk when the good had arrived.It was hot and tasty but a little expensive for what it was. I ordered the brunch and caramel mocha.Recommended for those in need of a pot of tea or coffee and a bit to eat.

Nice food, clean and a nice touch with the table taken ,you can use if your on your own, but never feel there's a welcome.

Me and my family would never go any where else, the staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you. My 2 youngest children also love coming here, they would have lunch there everyday if they could. Every single meal we have had has been delicious and satisfying, would more could you ask for.

Went to Selections for lunch with some friends. Was a really nice experience with great food and fantastic customer service. Staff were very polite and friendly and made every effort to make me feel welcome. Prices were very good too and overall it was a very enjoyable experience. Would definitely recommend!

This place is expensive, the most expensive in Port Talbot, but take away the price of a news paper and it all adds up as on par with the rest of the Port Talbot cafes. That has now gone, so will move on, funny i told a couple of other people about it and they said the same.I can tell the owner now, my breakfasts alone pay for his yearly papers. Buy selections.

When I visited Selections roughly a week ago with my friends for brunch, I was greeted by smiling faces and a nice atmosphere! The coffee was perfect, no doubts about that. Our food came piping hot and was timely! Thank you Selections for not only coffee but a memorable experience! Would definitely reccomend, 5 ⭐️

One of the most friendly and down to earth places to eat in Wales. Staff go above and beyond to meet costumer satisfaction. The owner is one of the most hardworking men I've ever met. Food is of a excellent home made quality! Great atmosphere and relaxing place to eat and chat. The best place to eat in Port Talbot.

This cafe is very popular with old age pensioners.They offer breakfasts and sandwiches, paninis d jacket potatoes.There is always a good selection of cakes too.It is worth a visit although they close early and the prices are average.

I ordered a bacon sandwich at 9.00 am on a monday morning . Before I took a bite I turned it over to discover a large green piece of mould on my bread . No apology just said they would change it . Never gone back again

Food is always good and hot, the biggest problem is the staff they are always stressed out! We came in for breakfast this morning and wanted tea and toast plus a small breakfast, I wanted white and my husband who ordered the breakfast wanted brown, he was told he couldn't have brown toast with his breakfast as it came as a set menu and my toast had to be drown, he as then told to switch them at the table!!!!! Just can't see the problem but they obviously do

My family always call to selections when we visit port Talbot. Mostly every Wednesday!!!! Staff are always friendly and always happy to help. Fab coffee. Fab food. And the toast is lush smothered in real butter. In my opinion best cafe in port Talbot. Well worth a visit

We had a late breakfast here in October. Very friendly atmosphere and waiting staff. Delicious food and coffee. We shall return.

It's basic but really good value. I come here with my Nanna and she loves it. It's normally very busy so sometimes it's hard to get a table. Annoying when you want to eat, and people are sat at tables with a coffee they finished ages ago and they are just there to talk. A good selection and always really cheap and cheerful.

I have been to selections quite a few times and have never been disappointed with the food or the service. There is never a long wait for food regardless of how busy they are at the time. Nice relaxed atmosphere, nice place to eat with some seating outside too.

Must say, one of the best places I've seen in a long while, cannot fault anything of it. Those who own/work there, you must be really proud on what you create day in day out.will not to visit you again when i'm visiting you great town.

Nice enough for port talbot but comparatively expensive for what ur is. A little overrated. Poor menu selection which has not changed for years. Complacent staff.

If you want a non greasy breakfast this is the placew to go, the breakfast;s are all grilled not a fried piece in sight, wonderfully clean very friendly staff and a joy to eat in, keep up the good work.

Everyone I know loves this place so we decided to give it a go. Food is very good and the place is very nice but not the cheapest place in the area. Would still go again but find that we tend to find just as good cheaper just up the road.

We went into our favorite cafe on the Port Talbot shopping strip (Fulgonis) as we enjoy their cooked lunches. My wife is dairy intolerant, if she cannot get soya milk she drinks boiled water. We were told that they do not serve boiling water. That was enough for me.... we left.We went three doors down and what a treat - excellent food, warm welcome, soya milk for the wife's tea and friendly service. A good menu, I had lasagna, just as good as the one i had in Naples. The wife had meat pie and chips - the crust had no dairy products and was weclome and hot. We will return

Family love going here, they always love the food. Friendly staff and very clean.However being a vegetarian I always struggle to eat here which is a shame.Today I fancied Egg, Beans and chips but was told I had to pay full for Ham, Egg, Beans and Chips but of course without the Ham which was a bit disappointing.I then asked if it was possible to have a slice of Bread & Butter to go with it assuming they would swap it for the Ham but instead also had to pay for it as an add on!Such a disappointment but because my family love it there.I would give a lower rate but due to it being a wonderful place for my family I'll give it an average rate.(Improve your customer service!)Thanks

Excellent value. Clean. Polite staff. Always busy. Only thing I could find 'wrong' was that there was only one toilet which was very inconvenient at busy times.

Must mention the Lord Caradoc , Wetherspoons Port Talbot. Excellent for meals, coffee and service Excellent service. Staff especially welcoming.Please keep it the same.

I visit the cafe regularly for a coffee and toast. I used to really like the doorstop toast however they have recently changed this to a "Costa style" bloomer bread, which is a much lower standard of bread. The prices have gone up to making Marks and Spencer's cafe look cheap! I don't understand why the prices have gone up considering your are getting cheaper quality food. Come on Selections use your loaf! On a positive note the staff are always friendly and accommodating.

I use this coffee shop most Saturday mornings to meet with friends - the staff are always friendly and helpful. The only down side is the price. A tea cake costing £2.00 is exceptionally high. This is dearer than any other place I know. On the days that I don't meet friends unfortunately I cannot afford such high prices.

If your in Port Talbot doing some Christmas shopping, and you want to treat yourself to Lunch or a light snack, then this is the place to visit.You place your order at the counter, you pick up your drinks a little further along, and as soon as you get to your table, your freshly made and always delicious food arrives almost immediately.The Cafe is spotlessly clean, and the warm friendly service from all the Staff makes everyone feel at home.Highly recommended, and I look forward to my next visit.

Excellent, home made food and presented by a first class service.You place your order from a wonderful choice of freshly cooked food at the Counter, and withing just a few minutes, the food is delivered with a warm smile to your table. Today I chose a Home Made vegetable soup, and it was served quickly, accompanied by a small loaf of white bread...it was absolutely delicious, remaining hat throughout the meal.If you're out shopping in Port Talbot and looking for top quality food, then this venue should be on your list to try....You won't be disappointed!

Called in here yesterday for a cuppa n a lite bite ,well impressed. Very Friendly staff, good choice on menu, lots of healthy options, and great coffee. Place is great to stop and chill for half hr or so would recommend.

I am amazed at the previous reviewer thinking Selections is over priced! We eat here every Saturday lunchtime and have done for several years. The place is very clean, the staff are friendly and the food is good quality and most reasonably priced. Apart from the regular menu they do 2 specials. Yesterday I enjoyed a hot lunch with fresh vegetables and home made parsley sauce for £5.50. At such a cheap price one could expect a mass produced meal but this was freshly cooked on the premises. Fabulous!

I have recently eaten lunch at this cafe, accompanied by my daughter and grandson. I ordered a cheese and ham toasty, my daughter had corned beef pastie and my grandson had a child's sausage and chips. With drinks, I paid over £18+ and even though the food was tasty, it certainly WAS NOT worth the extorniate price I paid. The toasty was quite " globby " and lacked finesse, as did my grandson's sausage, which was a run of the mill, lower priced banger!!Overall the service was satisfactory, however the woman serving could have benefitted from customer service training, in engaging customers and the importance of a smile, in any hospitality business.

I have eaten here numerous times with either family or friends. The service is excellent. Staff are always friendly and happy to help. The 'home cooked' food is very, very tasty. I particularly like and recommend the 'salad bowl'. The café is clean and well presented and makes for a nice relaxing place to meet up with friends to catch up.

We've eaten here many many times & its always been consitently excellent. They have a good menu with lighter options like paninis, toasties etc or fuller, hot meals & inparticular their roast dinners are lush! Even just a slice of toast & latte is beautiful! The service is always quick & efficient, the food always hot & tasty, and the place is always clean. They close around 3pm but if it was open later they would be busy morning, noon & night!

Called here on Saturday afternoon and had a really nice meal. This place can get really busy so keep trying to get a table its worth the wait. The service is good and the food is all home cooked and doesn't cost the earth. The restaurant is clean and tidy.

Excellent food, outstanding service by staff who really seemed to enjoy their work. Everywhere was exceptionally clean and food was well presented. Don't confuse Selections with the boutique shop a little further up the street also owned by the same family. Good tip....park in Tesco's car-park (free for 2 hours) and walk down. Everyone in there seemed very pleased with the place...I was in a party of 8 and we have talked about it several times since...all wondering how some places like this get it so right for a very reasonable cost.

Excellent service with exceptionally clean premises, the hand cut toast is to die for. Have ate several times from the menu with no complaints, very homely meals, good reasonable prices, my wife and I often call to selections, if not to eat then for a coffee, which by the way tastes great, we highly reccomend selections.

After being here on several occasions, I really do love it here! The food is always delightful and the staff are very friendly and welcoming, I will be continuing to visit here because I am always satisfied with the standard of the food and the service provided!

We come here most Saturdays for lunch if we are in PT. The food is always good and is mainly jacket spuds, toasties, small meals etc... they also have specials which can be fish cakes with chips and salad or cooked lunches although they don't do the stilton and broccolli soup often enough for my liking :). It is always hot and comes to the table very quickly. Take your table number and order at the till. You then wait for your beverages and take them to your table yourself. The owner is always front of house working away if he is in and is at pains to make sure all is well. Some of the longer serving members of staff are really friendly. The only thing which can be a slight let down is the toilet. This seems mostly to do with customers who cannot clean up after themselves though as you can appreciate that staff cannot be in and out of there after every user and once and hour is probably enough to be checking, however there doesn't appear to be hot water and the drier doesn't work. There is always a supply of paper towels though. There are no baby changing facilities but we appreciate the reason why. On the whole this is a great little place, always busy which says a lot, and is popular with locals and out of town visitors.

Not the best in Port talbot, just average. Ordered pasty and gravy. Pasty was cold in middle , lumps of potato and not much gravy at all. Left most of it. Fair to say though, I felt nauseous, when ordered the girl making the coffee, wiped the side of the cup, with a well used damp dish rag!! I felt sick.,., it really put me off. I wonder how many inadvertent(if it was) things like this do they do. Neither did she wash her hands after picking up the dirty damp dish cloth?? Oh did I say I work in Public Health,,,lucky was off duty!! Won't be returning you be glad to know!.,

Coffee was hot and full of flavour. The toast was very thick and smothered in salted butter. Delicious! You pay at the counter, collect your coffee there and the rest of your order is brought to your table. This is a little confusing at first but is fine when you are used to it
