Sergio makes the best negronis of all time and the food was unreal. Highly recommend, great evening.

The Pearl is a lovely spot for any occasion, it has Great seats upstairs, tasty food, nicely presented, beautiful music. We will be back this summer. Thank you Sergio!

First time visit to the Pearl. Husband booked it as a surprise as I love seafood. Lovely restaurant surroundings. The food was superb. Only criticism is the portions could have been bigger! Really tasty and well cooked and presented. Service was great, very attentive. Overall very pricey but worth it for a special occasion.

I have enjoyed many lovely dining experiences at this restaurant both as Mellows, Sea Salt and over the last few years as The Pearl. Upper end of the price range but food and service to match. On Saturday the price was still up there and food, particularly the Sea Bass was good but let down by several factors.The chips were French Fries not overly hot on arrival and in a cold dish quickly cooled veg was similarly cool. No napkins on the table, after several requests one cloth napkin arrived followed by paper for everyone else. A waitress knocked over a full glass of wine at one stage, apologised, and refilled from our bottle of wine.I appreciate that COVID has made everything a little more challenging and allowances should be made but when almost £50 was added for service we left feeling a little underwhelmed and short-changed.Sadly I will need to think very carefully before a return is considered and will be watching future TA reviews with interest.

I've been to the Pearl on a few occasions now hoping it will improve because the restaurant itself is lovely, however it gets worse and worse each time. Last night I visited the Pearl with 3 friends and we had to wait 30 mins to get a drink, the waiters seemed extremely busy which was weird considering only 1 room of the whole restaurant was open. Then we finally received our food and drinks, we all ordered steak and none of them were cooked to our requests. Then the waiter started to clear my friends plates whilst I was still eating... then he cleared my own plate whilst I was still eating!! Absolutely shocking service. It is extremely expensive, london prices for a poor quality restaurant, its too expensive to have starters and mains, I paid £65 for my steak and 2 glasses of wine. Will not be returning! Avoid if you can, there are many nicer alternatives in Beckeham

Visited The Pearl for the first time and we had an enjoyable lunch, sitting on the upstairs terrace in the sunny weather. Really impressed with the food - scallops and crab starters were both delicious, followed by well cooked and well presented lobster linguine and Mediterranean cod, followed by a shared cheeseboard. Needed an extra (potatoes or vegetables) with the cod. Felt very comfortable with the covid seating arrangements and the recent restaurant refurbishment made for a pleasant setting. Service a little mixed but overall an enjoyable lunch.

Thanks again to the Pearl. We had another great meal. I had the scallops for starter and then monkfish. Absolutely amazing with a reasonably priced Sicilian white. A great birthday treat with family.

Wow, what can we say other than excellence personified in a Restaurant. Superb Team managed by Alex and his amazing staff. Just go and enjoy the most perfect day. Tony and Russell

The design and decor of the restaurant was so lovely it made for a great atmosphere, the staff were so friendly and welcoming and the seafood was definitely fresh. Would have been a 10/10 restaurant but the the Ariana Grande soundtrack they had on did not match the restaurant ambiance. A simple instrumental playlist would have made for a better a better evening as neither of us can stand her music so gave us a headache having to listen to her on repeat.

Went Saturday night outside with friends. Had a great meal. Service was spot on. When so many restaurants cut standards rather than adding a couple of quid on a meal, Pearl produced possibly the best skate I have had. Not cheap but worth it.

Really good atmosphere, comfortable seating and friendly staff. Menu is a bit simple and could have better options but the food is nice. I ordered steak once and it was dry but mostly good food. Always enjoy coming to this restaurant with friends.

Revamped since I last visited dinning now upstairs so beware if you have trouble with stairs. Food was good but expensive. Service good. Mixed clientele with few very loud and drunk tables birthday party’s I think.

My Husband and I booked lunch at The Pearl for our Pearl Wedding Anniversary. This gem of a restaurant is literally on our doorstep and we can’t believe we haven’t tried it before now! Amazing service, amazing food all beautifully presented (Pacific Prawns were the best I’d ever tasted!) and beautiful decor with a lovely outside area upstairs. The sun was shining so we sat outside for drinks before we ate. Alex, the Owner took time to introduce himself and brought over two complimentary Kir Royales for our anniversary which was a really nice touch. We will definitely be returning! and recommending The Pearl to family and friends.

Visited Pearl a few weeks ago in August with my family and was really disappointed. The service was slow , unorganised and there was no acknowledgement of our booking which had been made months prior. We were ushered to a table in the inside corner of the resturant, which was stifling hot . Other diners were situated in the outside area which was much more comfortable on such a hot night. I had pre booked this for our wedding anniversary meal 2 months before in June, so I am not sure why we were not offered a more desirable table. We arrived on time at 7.30pm and the mains were not served unitl after 9.30pm. I appreciate our table of 6 had starters but two hours was too long to await the meal. The food is good quality but the price reflects that anyway. I would be happy to pay the higher prices charged at Pearl if the etiquette and quality of service was apparent. However, this was sadly lacking. Other examples on the night: , I feel the waiter should have confirmed what was OFF the menu when he bought the menus to our table . When the waiter arrived to take our order after quite a long wait , we ordered the lobster . We were told that this was all used during the lunch period. The waiter was rude and harassed and seemed agitated that we had even asked for lobster!! this is a seafood restaurant surely!! We ordered prawns instead. These were lovely large unshelled prawns , so i assumed a finger bowl would follow when they were served. We had to ask for a finger bowl a few times when our meal had finished, as we sat there in 25 degree heat with fishy fingers. There was an incident at the restaurant (unfortunate for Pearl to be fair) with a third party (not diner) but it meant that we had to use the toilets at the nearby O'neils pub as the downstairs part of Pearl was cordoned off . To be honest I enjoyed the Air Conditioning at O,neils and it did make me think a restaurant such as Pearl purported to be high class should have AC,but they didnt!! . I did send an email to the restaurant, pointing out the above , to say I hope this is just a one off situation and that I would like to return to the resturant as the food was good. However, I received a very arrogant indignant reply from Alex. I was actually in shock reading it . So "NO" Alex I will not be returning and hence now leaving this adverse review which Pearl deserve.

We have just enjoyed a lovely lunch at The Pearl. The food was excellent and there was a nice ambience to the place. Many thanks to Alex and his team for looking after us so wellWe would heartily recommend the place for a special occasion. We will be going there again.

I took advantage of the eat out to help out scheme and we made a last minute booking for The Pearl and it did not dissapoint. I used to be a big fan of it's previous name, Sea Salt. The quality of food blows Sea Salt out of the water.My scallops, prawns and lobster were perfectly cooked and the service was excellent. A bit pricey but absolutely worth every penny. Will definitely be coming back again and making The Pearl a regular.

I visited this restaurant when it was Salt and decided to go back now it has been re-branded. The look is quite amazing. Top class. We went on a Sunday evening and it was quite busy, so much so they had run out of salmon - the one thing I was really looking forward to! Table service was on point, the food tasted very good (except my Yorkshire pudding) and the ambience, well it was delightful. We sat upstairs on a warm evening and had a really nice relaxing time. They have a good selection of cocktails too. There is limited parking at the back which is good to know for next time - yep, we will be back. Great value for money.

We left the restaurant after two and a half hours when we still hadn't received our main courses feeling hungry, frustrated and disappointed. During the time we were there:- three tables sat close to us also left before their mains, presumably due to the slow service- it took an hour and a quarter just to receive some drinks- at no point whilst we were waiting were we offered another round of drinks- it took over an hour to order our food despite asking the staff several times if we could order- the member of staff who took our food order was rude and uninterested- no one came to apologise for the delay in the food and we had to chase the staff to find out where it was- when we said we wanted to leave, a member of staff shouted at my friend- we were told that we couldn't leave because the food was just arriving, however the staff were unable to produce the food when challengedThe staff used the Covid pandemic as an excuse for the slow service and poor experience. Whilst I totally understand that restaurants are having to operate within new guidelines and that this presents challenges, this was not the first week that restaurants have been allowed to open and such problems could and should have been ironed out. If the restaurant felt that it was unable to cope, it should not have filled every table in the restaurant. It should have instead focussed on treating a smaller number of customers better. Other reviews suggest that the food is delicious, it's such a shame we didn't get to taste it and I won't be going back to find out.

Honestly awful restaurant, we waited an hour to be served (and even then we had to find the waiter and ask her to take our order). We were then sat waiting a further hour for food that never came. In the end we just left and went to pierluigis. Terrible service, in the two hours we were sat there we probably saw 4 plates of food actually leave the kitchen. I won’t be back

Another fantastic visit to that restaurant. As usual very friendly staff, great cocktail and amazing food. The Dover sole was cooked to perfection. We will be back.

If you are DISABLED - FORGET IT!!! If I could give a minus I would! We attended this restaurant just before lockdown, virtually the day before Lockdown and the food was excellent and the staff service superb. HOWEVER my father telephoned the restaurant yesterday to ensure that my mother could again, be seated downstairs as our previous visit, as she cannot walk up stairs (the stairs there are steep and slippery). He was ASSURED that this would be the case. We arrived today, as previously booking the reservation and discussed. After the difficult task of helping my mother leave the vehicle and having to help her through the two glass entrance doors and having her stand against the wall for five minutes until the staff arrived after ringing the bell for an eternity we were disappointed. We were informed that IT IS AGAINST THE LAW for them to seat people downstairs. We asked about a lift, he did suggest that they have a serving hatch but he didn't seem to think my mother would fit in it!! OMG - Appalling service and Appalling attitude. After struggling to get Mum back into the car, who by then was humilliated and wanted to go home, we travelled a little further down the road to Pierluigi's who we couldn't recommend enough. Avoid this restaurant at all costs, especially if you cannot walk up the stairs - you will be treated like a lepper! Very disappointed and extremely upset by their lack of compassion for a disabled person.

From start to finish the meal was fantastic. Staff are so friendly and helpful, they were more than happy for us to switch tables to one in the sun on the balcony. At no point did you feel rushed. The cocktails are amazing and more reasonably priced that many other places in Beckenham.The food was absolutely incredible. The best fish I've had without getting on a plane and my partners pork belly was delicious. This restaurant is a little slice of holiday on your back door step if you live locally and a must visit. Will be returning many times.

We went last sunday for roast it was really nice, they even changed the vegetables for the children. The interior was really smart and modern. Dowm stairs there is a bar restaurant upstairs. Really worth a visit.

A taste of sophisticated, contemporary dishes stretching from the Mediterranean to the Black Sea.I attended this lovely restaurant on 22nd Feb 2020 / Ladies that lunch./ First visit.Table up stairs by the patio. Wonderful. Service was excellent. Food excellent. Wine excellent. I even hugged the waiter and waitress when leaving as I wanted them to know I appreciated them. I am coming back with my husband for my birthday in March. I would recommend this restaurant for sure. Lovely atmosphere. Decor nice. Patio really nice for al fresco dining maybe. I cannot wait to come back!!

Would highly recommend. Food is gorgeous. Beautiful decor and staff are highly attentive. Oysters and the Neptune symphony are a must to try. Also lamb cutlets

I have previously been to this restaurant and had such an amazing experience from the staff who were welcoming the food and environment everyone was extremely attentive. From my first experience I decided to make a reservation for a special occasion I purposely booked the table during the hours of the special promotion for drinks, so that, my guest could benefit from it.When I arrived I had asked the waiter which cocktails are in the promotion she responded quite rudely they only offer this during the week Monday to Thursday. I was surprised but went along with it as I presumed she would know best as she works here I thought maybe the website wasn’t updated I mentioned to her I saw this on their website MONDAY TO SUNDAY BETWEEN 5-7 PM X2 COCKTAILS FOR £11.95.The waiter then came back and said they have checked the website, and within fact, I am correct. Alarming as I would have hoped each staff member would know what promotions they have listed on their company website. She then said if we are having the Two cocktails they need to be the same, and we can’t share the drinks? Again I never questioned this as I know this is not true because I can’t see this rule written anywhere from their websites or menu we respected what she has asked without hesitation.We never ordered starters and went straight to the mains around 30 minutes after being seated, we made our orders, and the gentlemen who took our orders seemed to extremely flustered and impatient we felt as if we were being rushed to place our orders. I then asked to keep the menu as I may want to order something else his response to me was “I can’t stand here all day to wait and see what else you want to order I have other tables to serve” by that point I was pretty much ready to leave but also taken back by his response shocked whilst sitting there but still keen to enjoy the evening I handed him back the menu.All 9 orders came out incorrect they then wanted us to take the mains, and then wait for the chips to cook which would mean by the time the side dish comes the meal would be cold, one of the dishes came with a hair in the food which was reported straight away to the manager his response was “All the kitchen staff’s hair is blonde” whilst the Four waiter staff who brought the food to our table had dark hair.We then asked for all the food to be cancelled because at that point I wouldn’t have wanted to give them £10 towards anything, I was happy to pay for the items of food and drink which we had and wanted to leave the manager then said he was happy re-cook the entire what normal person would have any faith or trust in the restaurant to bring them food again! completely unorganised if they were unable to take such a large booking then they shouldn't have excepted the reservation. The birthday meal which we had planned at that point was been completely ruined, and we all left extremely upset, not once did the manager accept any blame for what had taken place that evening, when leaving I spoke to another staff member working downstairs who I vented my frustration to, and she was kind enough to listen and offer me a complimentary glass of wine it was at the point the manager apologisedI never in my life would step back to this place even if they were offering free drinks, alcohol gifts or food customer service is key and is extremely important my summary of this place is they have employed incompetent members of staff who do not know their menu or promotions which they have set, Rude when challenged, provides food with hair and does not accept any responsibility.

Exceptional Food & Service. I’d received some mixed reviews about the Pearl... but I have to say, my experience was faultless. I booked here for my own birthday. The food was beyond exceptional and the service my friends/family and I received was also perfect. Great value for money for the beautiful choice of exquisite food you do get. If you like fine dining then you really should try The Pearl and experience it for yourself. Thanks to the staff for making my birthday that bit more special.

First visit to this very plush restaurant. Greeted by friendly staff, took my coat and made to feel very welcome. The staff are professional and courteous. The cocktails, delicious...the rhubarb and custard was sublime. A good menu choice and affordable. Attended a birthday dinner, which everyone seemed to enjoy. I think I will revisit this year...for a treat...

Sunday lunch, good choice of roasts and even better choice of fish. Prices a little bit on the high side but quality good. Service was very good though one of the starters was missed off the order and we had to wait while it was made. Plenty of customers around to give a good ambience (we were upstairs) and owners/managers around on our departure to help us with coats and chat. All in all we would go again.

Amazing food and really good service. For the quality of the food we was impressed by the price. They made a nice fuss for the birthday with free Prosecco, overall very good night. And amazing decor.

Second visit here and same thing BOTH times whereby the service just lets the place down. The chef is the best. Food is beautiful and restaurant/ place/ location could be first class - however the waiter and waitresses are literally crap! What a shame!! They ALL lack table service and have never been trained on fine dining. Its like the owner has just recruited a huge bunch of chavs from the local pub! So much lacking: no side plates with the bread, never asked if needed anything with the bread, no dish given for shell fish so I made a point leaving them on the table to try prove a point. Our waiter couldn't even pour red wine correctly and I caught him putting his hand over the spout to grab the drip with his dirty bare hand! Vile!! I wish I could have said this in person to owner and really hope they fix this. It could be a real gem if they recruited the right people for such a great restaurant. Leaving on a slight positive - the food is lovely!! But when you go out to enjoy a nice meal - the service is the MOST important!

we went here as a last minute decision for Sunday lunch, we asked to be seated downstairs, the food was great, the service very good as well, Hicky one of the waiters is a credit to the Restaurant, so are the 2 female staff who were there when it was Seasalt. Sorry I can’t remember your names :-(, Alex take note and do not let these people go, we will definitely be going back in the future.

Family birthday Sunday lunch. Absolutely spot on. The table was lovely for six and the staff very friendly. The starters were all delicious and plentiful. The main was fresh, hot, proper roasties and both the beef and pork were equally spot on. Service was a bit slow on the coffees but that is really being a bit picky. Will go back to try the main menu.

Great ambience and food very good – we all had different starters and mains and all of them well cooked – the veg a tad over done but hey they were trying to service the whole restaurant and almost the same time

This restaurant was lovely. We managed to get a booking on a very busy night and from the moment we walked in everyone was courteous. The food was delicious. My aunt had the lamb and it was huge. We had starters soft shell crab and duck & chicken terrine (from the Christmas Fayre Menu). Both were great. The mains of sea bass, lamb chops and cod steak (Christmas Fayre Menu) were tasty and they were very accommodating to my young son. The prices were reasonable for an upscale restaurant, in my opinion, considering the amount of food we got and wine. For 5 people the total came to about £135 and that was with cocktails and wine. I'd definitely recommend.

Very average food, below average service. Could and should be so much better. Such a shame, it also lacks atmosphere.

One of our favourite restaurants but Xmas lunch was disappointing and expensive for what it was. Service to our out of the way table was overlooked several times and required us to stop passing waiters .

Firstly the staff the tops very caring~ the menu not cheap but good value~ the wine was not expensive

I went here with 5 friends for lunch and sat in a beautiful room upstairs with a fire and bar area. Our lunch was really delicious and the staff so friendly and attentive. Three of us had the set Christmas menu, which we thought at £27.95 was great value. Other went A la Carte. We all enjoyed the lunch hugely, especially the lamb chops and my main of Cod Provencale was fabulous. One of the puddings on the Christmas menu was Sticky Figgy Pudding with Citrus Custard - big hit with all of us who had it.

We visited on Sunday 8th Dec for lunch as we were curious to see what the recent renovation was like; the restaurant is gorgeously presented & we loved the elegant spiral staircase that leads you upto the main room which is elegantly decorated & presented with comfortable seating & plenty of space of the tables for all the good food.

The Pearl is an upscale establishment. We had a blow-out lunch here one day. The set menu is more moderately-priced.

We have been to Sea Salt quite a few times, this was our first visit to the newly refurbished The Pearl, Five stars for: ambiance, decor,the food, the staff friendliness. Our waitress Anna, absolutely awesome, other waiting Staff, bar staff awesome.The vintage cafe music softly playing in the background ... loved it.They did loose one star for the wait between our courses.Still a great place to dine,we will definitely be going to The Pearl again.

Have been to Pearl twice since the refurbishment and must say what a difference. Food has always been good at this restaurant but the decor when it was called Seasalt was dated. The refurbishment means that the upstairs now has great views and is inviting. I have eaten both steak and fish at this restaurant and loved both. The fixed price menu is good value. Staff are friendly and professional and Pearl is a welcomed addition to the great eating places in Beckenham.

We have an animal family get together here, usually 10-15 of us, for years it was called Sea Salt now it’s had a fabulous makeover and changed it’s name to The Pearl.

Had Sunday lunch, first time since renovations from sea salt. Was not disappointed still same happy staff, lovely food as before. Love the new decor, great place.

My friend and I met here for dinner and we weren’t disappointed. We ordered from the set menu which offered great choices. The food was cooked perfectly and the service was excellent. The restaurant was warm and cozy and very nicely decorated. Good value for money.

It was our first visit to The Pearl and it didn’t disappoint. The restaurant has a great décor and ambience, we had a drink at the bar before being seated. The food is excellent, there was a group of 6 of us and not one of us had cause to complain. We would certainly be going back!

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch at Pearl - first time there after it’s revamp from sea Salt. The decor upstairs is great - love the colour scheme. Going to become a regular of mine. Had Sunday roast there on the fixed price lunch for 2 courses. Great value and very tasty.

Having all previously eaten at the restaurant formerly called Sea Salt, we thought we should try the new incarnation. The restaurant was quite quiet, but we were greeted warmly. Staff were very friendly and the service was excellent.

My husband and I went to The Pearl for a mid week treat, we were very impressed with the updated interior and the food did not disappoint either. The lady who served us couldn’t have done enough to make our evening pleasant and we can’t wait to return with family in the future!

I had just picked a place that was close to the station to meet my sister, so was very happy to find a beautifully appointed restaurant with really good food and attention. We even had a chat with the manager who told us about all the changes they had made to spruce up the place.

Food was great and service friendly. It is a bit noisy and not helped by the fact that conversation has to stop everytime they bring out a cake for someone's birthday as music is played at full volume. It was o.k. a couple of times but after 6 times it got sufficiently annoying to put me off going back again.

We came here for a birthday meal for 8, we had lovely large round table, perfect for large groups. The restaurant was very upmarket and had a good busy vibe. The staff were attentive and the food was great. They certainly know how to cook a good steak . We’ll definitely be going back

Went as a group of 8 and were seated on a nice round table. Fantastic service (especially Anna) and excellent food, a class establishment. Lively with great ambience. Bloody Mary and Margarita highly recommended. Comprehensive wine list with good range of prices. Not the weather for it this time of year but has a nice outside area on first floor.

Absolutely love this place was nervous when sea salt closed in case it never re opened , we go here often the steaks are to die for and the oysters are just as good as borough market . Staff are excellent .

A really nicely decorated restaurant in Beckenham. We sat on the terrace as the weather was lovely. (Maybe not a great idea... our food kept attracting wasps) The food was good especially the Calamari. Service was friendly and efficient.

This was a birthday lunch and a party of 6. The revamp of the old Sea Salt is amazing. The staircase would make a wonderful photo opportunity for weddings etc. We were sat downstairs at a table of four and a round table for two put together. We were waited for the rest of the party to arrive and were offered drinks. There were no 'zero' options for my diabetic husband so asked for water which was produced by melting glaciers waters from Norway in a fancy bottle. Tasted like water. When the rest of the party arrived we asked if the music could be turned down because we couldn't hear ourselves speak and we had three elderly relatives with us who struggle with their hearing aids. The menus were handed out and it wasn't explained clearly that the only meals being served were the page that the menu had been opened at which was Sunday lunch. I think it would have been better to have a handout with options because most of the party wanted meals from other pages. The orders were taken but although the food was elegantly served and beautifully presented it was the lack of attention to details that let the Pearl down. We had to ask for bread which normally should have been on the table. The roast meals all were missing yorkshire puddings and we had to ask for them. They arrived on a plate for us all to help ourselves. We had to ask for mustard as it wasn't offered. We had desserts and although asked for one portion of ice-cream to be shared there were two bowls delivered.

What can I say, The Pearl Bar & Restaurant did not disappoint!

We went to the Pearl to celebrate our wedding anniversary so we were looking for somewhere that would stand out in our memories. After checking out some reviews and the menu options we booked our evening.

Have been back to The Pearl several times now and every experience has been exceptional. The food, drink, service and ambience are all incredible and the perfect spot for both a romantic meal, or drinks with friends. I definitely would recommend.

Beautiful refurbishment of this local fish restaurant so we gave it a try for a midweek anniversary dinner!

We last visited Sea Salt 10+ years ago and were not fans of the dated decor and menu. Having seen the recent refurbishment we decided to give The Pearl a try.

Five of us visited the newly refurbished Pearl Restaurant in Beckenham to celebrate our wedding anniversary, wow!!

The newly refurbished restaurant and bar are modern, beautiful and stylish and the staff are numerous, attentive and well trained. There is a good cocktail menu and a really good (but small) wine list. However the food was disappointing, especially considering the price. Firstly on a Sunday they only serve a roast menu, which is ludicrous when it's over 30 degrees heat in the shade ( and we weren't told about this until we had sat down and ordered drinks, so we didn't have any choice). Secondly, we could see that regular (and presumably favoured) customers were allowed to order fries, mussels and other options from the usual menu, which made those of us restricted to the unappealing roast menu feel like second class customers. My husband had salmon in pepper coulis, which was tasty and nicely cooked, although would have been better complimented by new potatoes and greens than roast parsnip and roast potato (thank goodness, they forgot to include his Yorkshire pudding). However i ordered roast chicken and was presented with an enormous tastelese slab of battery chicken breast cooked on it's own in the oven without skin....this was not a breast carved from a whole roast chicken, and would not be considered a 'roast' by reasonable standards. The only positive I can say about it was that technically it was not dry or overcooked and the gravy was tasty, although sparse. The Yorkshire was crunchy and awesome, the only downside being that no one wants a Yorkshire on a hot day.

19 family met for Dinner at the Pearl .. The staff and management could not have been more obliging .. the food was exceptional good choices and very well presented .Customer service was amazing and the prices are really good we used to visit when it was Sea-salt and now we shall most definitely continue to visit the Pearl

My husband and l visited this restaurant for the first time today. When l made the booking for 6pm l checked if the Sunday Roast menu would still be available. I was told that although it officially stops at 5.30 the chef had made extra and it would be available. This unfortunately wasn’t the case and was rudely communicated to us. Also we were told we would have to eat downstairs when we were shown upstairs until l pointed out all the empty tables around us. To top it the table we were finally seated at wasn’t even set up. When l asked why l was told they have been very busy today and this happens! We also had to ask for napkins! As soon we sat down we were asked if we wanted a drink to which l responded it would be good to see the menu. No cocktail list was presented to us. For the prices being charged this isn’t really good enough. The service was mixed, although attentive, very confusing due to different waiters serving us and at times slightly irritating when several staff asked if the food was good. Only at the end were we informed that downstairs has a different menu! The food was well presented but lacked flavour and the vegetables were average. The restaurant itself is beautiful but if you’re going to charge such high prices you need to ensure the experience matches the bill. Final thought, you should also state on your website the timings for when the Sunday menu is available to prevent any future confusion.

Food good but noisy. Had to ask twice to turn music down and an ice cube making machine sitting on the bar next to tables extremely noisy.

I had THE MOST amazing experience at this Restuarant. I visited it whilst it was the Sea Salt and it was lovely. They have had the most exquisite refurb and that along with the food is absolutely amazing. The staff are attentive the food is phenomenal and the overall atmosphere sets it aside from any other Restuarant in Beckham. An absolute must visit. I will absolutely be back !!!!!

A waiter who was unhelpful bordering on rude, failed to take drinks order or give us a menu before we asked, and such slow service. Terrible.

Visited here for the first time since refurbishment and liked the set up with ground floor more for casual drinking/eating and upstairs for finer restaurant dining. This visit was for a family birthday and had a pleasurable experience. Service as always was polite, prompt and attentive. Menu was well thought out but not too extensive. Food was well presented, served hot and tasty for our party of 7 all at the same time. Desserts were lovely and again well cooked. Overall a very nice visit, capped by an interesting rendition of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Happy Birthday’ sung by the waiters to our birthday girl of 80 years young - which was very thoughtful not to mention funny! The only reason for not giving 5 stars is for the prices which are a little on the high side but given the service, ambience and new surroundings, this can be forgiven. The venue was very busy with some large groups and so it seems The Pearl is back with a bang - long may this continue to be a success it deserves. Will soon be returning for Sunday lunch which we hope will be just as good.

Was looking forward to trying out the newly refurbished Pearl although clearly a seafood restaurant as per its previous life as Sea Salt.

Just had a fabulous roast dinner at The Pearl. Group of 4 plus a baby, the service was perfect and very accommodating to our table. Between us we had lamb and beef with veg, all cooked to perfection! Can’t wait to return and try the usual dinner menu in this gorgeous restaurant. Thank you @ team Pearl!

Beautiful decor professional attentive down to earth Service! The best part is the food a great culinary experience ! Decent wine list desserts were a pleasant surprise and better then we expected. The Pearl is great Seafood Restaurant In Beckenham. Highly recommend you try for your self.

I rarely write poor reviews, but our experience at The Pearl was so unpleasant that I think the feedback is important. We arrived for a pre-booked birthday dinner and initially received a warm welcome - we were told we could eat in the upstairs or downstairs restaurant, and we could have a drink outside on the terrace first as we were early for our table. The service from then on in was really very poor. It took around 20 minutes for anyone to approach us to take our drinks order, despite the staff walking past us numerous times and there only being 3 other occupied tables. When we did place a drinks order we asked for some tap water in addition to our cocktails, at which the waitress took a deep sigh and said ‘yes when I get a chance I will bring you some water’ - what an odd response to a very standard request?! After finishing our drinks we then informed the waitress that we would like to eat in the upstairs restaurant (having initially been given the option and menu for both areas), and her response was ‘my boss would like me to tell you there is no room upstairs so what would you like to do?’ By this point we had been sitting outside for an hour, with empty glasses for at least half of that and no interaction from staff, so I went to speak to the manager to ask him to try and turn things around for us as it was a meal for a special occasion. His response was very standoffish and unhelpful, and didn’t seem at all interested in the feedback I was trying to politely give.

First visit here since it’s refurbishment and it is stunning! The best thing about this place is that the food is the same -yay! Was glad to know it was just a cosmetic makeover as it was one of the best restaurants in Beckenham. A bit pricey for local but good food, good drinks, lovely atmosphere and good service. Will definitely be back

Went past today and the restaurant sign has been taken down. Lots of work going on but the restaurant's website has disappeared so not sure if we will ever be going back. We wait and see.

Restaurant closed for refurbishment, but was the booking stillntaken..yes, was informed NO. So our party turned up to a closed restaurant.

Sea salt was actually shut down for refurbishment and like a building site. Nothing on open table or sea salt website was looking forward to this for weeks. Absolutely gutted

We, as a family, have been coming to Seasalt every year to celebrate my Dad's Birthday. As always the food was delicious, the staff friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our lunch. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Seen the restuarnt for years but never tried. Finally tried last night and wished I had been years ago. Great food as we like fish with superb service. Good wines to choice from. We both had fish for starter and main and could not fault. Staff very friendly and polite. Alas we were told that is was shutting for a couple of months to redo the inside. Will re visit after as very conveniently located next to Beckenham Junction Station so convenient to meet up with friends coming for London for a night out.

Highly recommend sea salt. The food was wonderful and the service exceptional. Can't wait to come back. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Had a great lunch here on Sunday. Very well presented and tasty also good siz portions. Nice bottle of Sancerre . Look forward to a return visit very soon.

Very good although the card machine wouldn't work due to their signal and there was no compensation on the £270 bill. I had to locate a cash machine. Otherwise good friendly service and food quality was above average.

This was the nicest fish restaurant that I have been to in a while, the fish was cooked to perfection. There was 4 of us and everyone enjoyed their food.

I was expecting something outstanding based on the other reviews and the high end pricing. It was all ok but not that special. I had sea bass, and to be honest I could cook it better myself. Overall a pleasant evening but in my opinion overpriced for what it is.

Went with family, all had wonderful fish. Never disappointed, not cheap but well worth it. Washed down with a very nice bottle of Portuguese white. Staff very attentive and friendly. Would recommend a visit.

Service good. Nice setting. Food really nice. Good size portions. Would recommend. I had chicken in chilli that was a little over powering. My husband had monk fish and really enjoyed.

Best customer service I’ve ever received. Food quality is amazing. Waiter and waitress were extremely helpful when we were asking multiple questions about the menu and portion sizes. Would definitely recommend and will be returning soon.

We always take our out of town friends to Sea Salt very special restaurant

Emboldened by some recent reviews on T/A, we returned to Sea Salt after an absence of at least 5 years and probably more. Situated by Beckenham Junction railway station and tram terminus, it was easy to reach. Inside, the restaurant had closely packed tables and we reckon it had regular followers among the older population.
