Savaro in Kirklees

Absolutely delicious! A hidden gem in Honley, and we will definitely be back. The food is all fresh and prepared from scratch, very flavoursome and equal to, if not better than a highly rated Lebanese restaurant we eat from in London. The baklava is the best we've ever had! Staff are friendly and attentive from the minute you step through the door, relaxed atmosphere and great for couples or families. You always know you've found a great place when you are leaving and thinking about what to have next time!

Ate here last night, first time we’ve been back for a few years and it was as good as we remembered!! A warm friendly welcome , had a lovely table in the window, very friendly and efficient service from the young gentleman, helpful too with our questions. Food was so good, the sea bass was delicious 😋Washed down with a beautiful bottle of red wine 🍷 We’ve booked to go back for our anniversary in June and can’t wait!! What an absolute hidden gem! Had a meal here with a few friends and it was absolutely wonderful. We felt really welcomed and looked after as soon as we arrived. The food was absolutely gorgeous, and the staff were all excellent. Two of our group are vegan and the staff were so easy and accommodating with making sure the menu options were clear and even helped with slight adjustments to ensure they were catered for. Highly recommended, we will visit again soon :)

We were made to feel very welcome from stepping through the door. The food was delicious. Couldn’t fault it. Hummus was the best we had, definitely won’t be buying the supermarket Hummus anytime soon! Moussaka was full of flavor! Absolute gem and be visiting again soon.

Beautifully cooked. Rick Stein would rave about this place. They serve the Lebanese national dish Kebbehs, well worth a try. Everything is freshly cooked from scratch. An absolute gem. Look forward to going again!

The food is amazing the staff friendly and attentive. I had the Marina hot Meza starter which was crisp and very tasty then the Shish Tawouk which was also very good both came with something neither myself or my friend had ever tried which was pickled turnip. It was delicious. For pudding I had a baklava and two of the traditional coffees. Overall a place to try. Will be back

Its a great restaurant. Lovely welcome when you arrive and taken straight to a table. Staff very friendly. Owners daughter is lovely and a bubble person. So lovely to see. The restaurant had a lot of people in it, the atmosphere was great. The service and food was excellent. Differently will go again.

Always good to go here. Good atmosphere, food quality is high, mainly meat on the menu but some good vegetarian options also.

We went to Savaro for the first time, what a great experience. We were greeted so warmly and the staff are so lovely and go out of their to make sure you have a lovely experience. We used to live in the middle east and by far this is the best we have ever been to. We ordered mix starter for two and a Fatayer jebne for starters the portions were very generous and soooo fresh. For mains we shared our mains, we went for lamb and chicken shawerma, the lamb melts in your mouth and chicken shawerma full of flavour, all served with rice. The rice though you could have it by it self, we had to even ask for the secret recipe. We will defiantly be back with the kids as this is now our favourite place to go.

Was looking forward to this first visit but it will be the last. Cold dining room: The starters chicken wings 2 , and Harisa Potatoes were very expensive for what was provided. The chicken was nice and hot but the potatoes were pretty awful. No sauce, just a smattering of potatoes and three bits of lack lustre red pepper. Something badly needed here. Main courses were , in the case of the chicken, very dry and difficult to swallow. The tuna thing was not good at all. Not worth the price £65.00 1 glass of wine and 1 half pint of beer.

We love going to Savaro! The atmosphere and service is top. Staff always go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. We went on Thursday with family and ordered the mix mezze, marina and fatayer jebne to share between the 4 of us, followed by mix grill, sheaf and lamb chops. Their lamb is the best we have ever had. Every thing is always so fresh and clean, you can tell they use top quality ingredients. It's our new favourite restaurant. We will be back soon.

Visited for the first time last night with friends. Service was very good and server was friendly, pleasant and helpful. The restaurant wasn't overly warm and could have done with some heating. The food itself was of excellent quality but it was very very expensive and poor value for money. My wife and I shared the starter which was £15.95 and a main dish, the Mashawi Mix which was £18.95 but the portions were small and not value for the price.

I went here with my partner and his friends for his birthday (visited Sunday 30th July). Absolutely fantastic food. The menu has cold and hot mezze available and then mains. The portion sizes were wonderful. The coffees came in such beautiful Turkish style cups. We booked in quite early (5.30). The restaurant was very peaceful and staff gave excellent service, going through the menu with us and answering our questions. All the food was really fresh (the breads were delicious). We also were treated to some drumming and a bonus birthday baklava for my partner (he hated it - the rest of us loved this). The place is really clean and toilets fab. I have eaten at most of the Lebanese restaurants in and around Huddersfield and I have to say Savaro's is my top Lebanese place now. It certainly is on the pricier side but well worth it for the quality and service that you receive.

This was the best dining experience I have had in a long time. The staff are so friendly, the food is divine and the atmosphere is perfect. Myself and my friend dined here for a belated birthday meal and upon seeing us exchange presents the staff asked if we were celebrating a birthday then proceeded to sing happy birthday and bring a little cake with candles. How wonderful ❤️ thank you for a fabulous evening

We love every thing about this restaurant it’s a hidden gem. Food is always freshly cooked and the staff are so accommodating. We always go for a selection of mezzes followed by mains, we recommend the signature dish Savar ma qaly, must try!!! We can’t wait to go back!

Great tasty quality Persian food with fantastic service. The setting was clean but a bit cold. Overall good but a bit expensive.

This place is amazing, the food ,the staff, the ambiance,the service is fabulous, just ticked every box. The knowledge,attentiveness & friendliness of the staff was amazing. Our party of seven thoroughly enjoyed our visit here last night. The staff are friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. All of us had two courses and not one of us had a single criticism or complaint. The atmosphere was good too. This could be our new favourite go to restaurant. We visited Savaro last Saturday with the whole family, it was our first visit. We were impressed from the moment we entered to the moment we left. It was my daughters birthday, we were greeted by the owner with smiles and happy birthday wishes. We chose a selection of hot and cold mezze, which included the best hummus we have ever had served with fresh baked bread so light along with Fettoush salad which was so tasty and fresh, Father's Jebne, cheesy boat shaped bread , which the kids loved and Marina , thin bread stuffed with minced meat, served with a red sauce which was out of this world. For Mains we ordered lamb chops, Shekhar, Mousavi and mix grill. I must say the lamb was the best we have ever had in any where we have been to. So tender and fresh all served with rice which you could have just eaten it by it self as it was so flavourful and light. The service was wonderful, attentive and very cheerful. We can not wait to come back as this is now our favorite restaurant.

Went Sat 11th March four people. The place was absolutely freezing, sat at table next to radiators that were not working. Lady in charge made comment about size of building and heating it. The ladies in our party sat with coats on for the duration....

My main criticism that applied to most of the dishes ordered was that they were poorly seasoned or not seasoned at all. The worst offender was the moussaka that could have been a winner. It wasn't as heavy as some that I have had but...

My family and I had a gorgeous meal at savaros last night. Immediately from walking into the restaurant; it was warm and welcoming. The food was astonishing, my family and I went for a all out mixture of starters to share and a main each....

Ate at this place after hearing some good reviews. As soon as arrived - noticed it was freezing cold. We kept our jackets on throughout our meal. Ordered hummus - cost £6.59 - the hummus was not like normal hummus - it had a creamy/mayo texture - came out with one piece of small bread/pita. Tasted terrible. It had been thinned out with Mayonaise. I ordered sea bass with vegetables. I eat a lot of fish and could tell straight away that they did not serve sea bass. Extremely disappointed as I could tell they served a basa fillet of fish instead - as I said I eat a lot of fish! I double checked with the waiter if it was sea bass and he said it was. This fish cost £16 - shocking to be served a cheap cut of fish. It came with a salad - cucumber, lettuce and tomatoes in a dried mint dressing. For this type of price I expect some fresh mint leaves in my salad at least! Daughter ordered a mousakka - she didn’t enjoy it at all. Son ordered chicken pieces (marinated) - he was starving and couldn’t even finish it off. The bread pieces that it came with was hard. We were the third family to arrive as we had booked to eat early in the evening. We ordered more or less as soon as we got the menu. We waited 30 mins for our food and noticed that other families had arrived during that time - they all got served before us. The food was piping hot. So a bonus. The best thing to eat here was the rice! Altogether- I feel we were ripped off. Food not delicious and feel the most disappointed at being served basa fish instead of paying the premium price of £16 for sea bass. Won’t be eating here again.

I visited with my husband for an anniversary meal. It started off ok but showed signs for improvement.We ordered two starters but they only brought one out then the other arrived a few minutes later. The first starter was Luke warm but that might have been due to the delay. We ordered the potato’s and chicken wings. The potatoes tasted ok but the chicken was really nice and I’d recommend this dish.When the main meals arrived the same thing happened again with the service. My meal arrived alone then my husbands a few minutes later. I can understand with a big party bringing the meals out staggered but when there is only two people dining it’s very disappointing.I ordered the lamb vermicelli which didn’t excite me to look at but the lamb was very nice. The rice and noodles were greasy and if it didn’t come with the tsasiki sauce I wouldn’t have been able to finish it. I was also expecting more salad with it but it was more of a complimentary decoration.My husband ordered the mixed grill dish, although he enjoyed it he was unimpressed that it was served with only half a pitta and not sure why it wasn’t served with a full one especially for the price.We decided to try somewhere different for a special occasion but this won’t be somewhere we’ll be going back to in a hurry.

Never had Lebanese food and been wanting to eat here for a while. The food was tasty, especially the starters we ordered, and the Lebanese wine was nice too! Will be back to try more dishes soon!

Seriously disappointed. Tabouleh had hardly any bulgar wheat and moussaka had chilli or paprika on it. Expensive and not authentic enough at all

I attend the restaurant with a few of my work clients and as soon as we walked in we were welcomed by the owner Jiyan. Her customer service and attentiveness was flawless. The food was outstanding you could tell it was made with with love, so fresh and flavoursome. The staff were so friendly, it was a really beautiful atmosphere.Thank you for a lovely experience. A frantic search due to a last minute change of plans on a busy Saturday night led us to this absolute gem of a restaurant. Authentic eastern cuisine, in a friendly and inviting environment. Allergen aware and clearly marked in their menus. Friendly and accommodating staff that are consistently attentive during the busiest period. Thank you for making our Anniversary so memorable. The Yalanji (stuffed Vine Leaves) was definitely the star of the show… can’t wait to go back..!

We love Savaro. We enjoyed many take aways during lockdown and recently ate there on a busy Saturday night. The owner is a ray of sunshine and her staff are friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. So delicious. We are very lucky to have this in our doorstep!

We went here for my husband's birthday in July. The food was delicious and the service excellent too. Very friendly atmosphere and attentive (but not pushy) staff. This is the nicest Lebanese meal we have had in a long time.

We’ve had take away from Savaro before but, with the benefit of childcare, went to dine in sans kids for my birthday. It’s very rare I eat until I can eat no more but the food is so good it’s hard to stop. We’ve sampled a lot of the menu now, nothing has disappointed and even when I’ve thought “I don’t really know what that is” it’s been amazing. The meat is beautiful, the vegetarian dishes so tasty and the hummus will make you question the grainy crap you get from the supermarket. Go with an open mind and enjoy the warm welcome and lovely service.

We visited Savaro midweek Early at 7pm. The restaurant was very quiet which is something of a blessing in these difficult times. Only 2 other tables occupied. The services was very pleasant and attentive but the food was amazing. The lamb kebabs the star of the show. The special thing about this restaurant is what accomplices the main event. The beautiful dips and unusual rice. Delightful

My husband & I visited for dinner last week, our booked table was ready and Covid measures were in place - we felt very safe. This was our first Lebanese meal and wow! We loved it and we’ll be back soon. Friendly, helpful staff and a lovely setting. Highly recommended.

Absolutely our favourite local restaurant!The food is amazing... very authentic and the menu very varied. Complemented by a great selection of wines and beers. Best of all is the welcome we get every time we go from the beautiful Jlyane and her team. For anyone wondering about safety at the mo, the restaurant has all the necessary safety measures in place but without it spoiling the experience.... exactly the right balance

Really glad I found this little gem, so nice to have restaurant take away food instead of the usual Indian, Chinese etc...Phoned and ordered during the day, the staff were really polite, friendly & helpful. We collected our food and took it to eat al fresco on a picnic bench in the sun, it was beautiful, the Fettoush in particular was lovely. Couldn't recommend enough, can't wait to dine in when it re-opens.

A flawless evening ! We visited on Saturday night for the first time. The food and service was superb and could not fault anything. Everything was freshly made and tasted fantastic. We will be back !

Jiyan, the owner, is the perfect hostess and a force of nature. She makes each customer feel valued without being , in any way , sycophantic. Her mother is a wonderful cook and this is reflected in the delicious, traditional Middle Eastern food. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. We have been several times and have never been disappointed . It fully deserves its Certificate of Excellence. I would highly recommend a visit-- you will not be disappointed

Fresh, delicious food in a really buzzing, vibrant atmosphere. Staff were friendly and attentive particularly the proprietress who gave us a very warm welcome.

This is a decent size restaurant that still manages to give the personal touch. The Maitre D' will ensure that she gets round to all the tables in addition to the waiters and waitresses and her arrival will be a bright spot in what is almost certainly going to be a great evening. I have been here a few times and this visit was no exception - the food is well-chosen, excellently cooked and presented, succulent and incredibly tasty. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. If you've driven in, you can park less than a minute away from the restaurant.

Just the most amazing meal ever. Warm and friendly welcome. Superb and varied selection of starters and mains. The fantastic taste of our choice of starters and mains was unbelievable. Would recommend that you book as it was a cold Friday night when we visited but very busy. The table is your for the evening. We will be back. Thank you to the Chef and all the staff.

We were very warmly welcomed by the hostess / owner and seated comfortably. We were soon served a free appetiser, a small cold mezze. We are not familiar with Lebanese food, and it was very interesting to try our mains of Fetit Dejaj (rice and chicken with a tarator sauce, nuts and coriander - the sauce meant the dish was served lukewarm which was fully explained as I ordered) and Savar Ma'Qaly (a mixture of bulgar wheat and vermicelli with minced lamb). Both were extremely enjoyable, and we finished by sharing a baklava. Service was very pleasant throughout.

Oh my word. What a wonderful restaurant!

I absolutely loved every dish I ate here. Shish Tawook and Sheqaf cubes were juicy and perfectly seasoned. Fatoush plate with garden fresh ingredients and crunchy fried bread slices, hummus and moutabel plates were on par with what I used to taste in Aleppo. They also serve their own freshly baked bread loafs which added to the great taste. The hostess was very nice and we appreciated all her food recommendations. This was overall a great experience and I would definitely come back.

Third visit tonight, unreal every time utterly mouth watering. The food is so fresh and the lamb couldn’t be any more tender!

We have eaten here as a couple and with groups of friends many times and have never had a bad experience! We love it.

I love this place. I came here in November with some girlfriends and didn't have a clue what to expect. Honley is full of foodie places but this is very different, Very authentic Lebanese food and we ordered and shared all the platters.

This Lebanese restaurant is run by very friendly people, and provides good food and excellent Lebanese wines - very reasonable prices for the food, even if the wines cost a wee bit more (but they are worth it).

Savaro opened for lunches in December which was great for us. We had felafel wraps with salad and sliced potatoes plus a sauce. The felafels were homemade and so tasty; a good filling lunch. I loved the sliced potatoes which were nicely thin. As always great, friendly service in a lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend

We had a wonderful lunch here - really lovely staff and the food is fantastic- really fresh, interesting and tasty! Everything was perfect- clearly freshly-made with the best ingredients. It makes a lovely change from the usual cuisines about and we will definitely be becoming regulars here.

Our first visit. Definitely won't be our last. All 4 had different starters, with no idea really what we had ordered! Every one was beautiful. Mains also excellent. The last one on the menu (a mix of 3 meats with rice, potato slices, salad, flatbread and a fabulous mild chili dip) is one we will go back for any day of the week! Highly recommended. Very friendly warm welcome too, and a really nice Lebanese red wine.

Fantastic fresh home cooked Lebanese food. This is absolutely one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at and I’ve been to a lot ! I can’t recommend it enough. You’ll have to be patient because mum cooks everything from scratch but well worth waiting for. Excellent vegetarian food also, not just a thrown together veggie option ! Manager Jiyan ( hope Ive spelled that right) welcomes every single person warmly and affectionately. We ate fattoush, spinach stew and some veggie starters. The home made bread is gorgeous ! Best restaurant in the area

We went to Savaro on recommendation and what a great night we had. The venue is smart ,The front of house Team are spot on, led by the joint owner who was fantastic.

Had the best meal ever, this is the second time I've been, me and my family have enjoyed every last bit on the plate. The service the recipe and the atmosphere is outstanding.

As soon as I walked in I immediately fell in love the staff are sooo friendly and provided 5 star service. The food is Amazing and mama recipe is out if this world. The freshness was definitely 10 out of 10 . I will 100% be returning.

Heard so many good reviews about this place, thought we would give it a go.....had a drink at the bar..fine.. but then had to ask for a menu to browse...taken to table & waited a good 20 mins for order to be taken & it wasn't busy....food was absolutely fabulous!!! but staff didn't really seem to know what they were doing, our mains were given to wrong table & returned to kitchen then brought to us...a table apart! Barman wandering around asking who had ordered a certain drink. All in all would we return? Unfortunately probably not.

Excellent Lebanese food cooked by Mama. Delightful staff and atmosphere. We are always made to feel special. Highly recommend this great restaurant. Celebrated a significant birthday there and the catered well for small children.

Not visited for a while but always enjoyed it. This last visit I really enjoyed the meal in fact it was excellent. Also they now have a great Lebanese house wine. Do try a mixture of starters if there are a few people. It’s great for sharing

Wow! This was our first visit here despite living nearby for the last 6 months. We fancied something “different “ and I really can’t recommend this place enough. Gorgeous hot and cold starter (falafel, aubergine dip & bread feta boat thing!) were all incredible. Mains even better. I’ll attach photos as I can’t remember dish names. In summary, don’t hesitate to come here
