It's not a restaurant - it's pure entertainment (with amazing food, literally, 'thrown' in)

Kids wanted ramen for lunch, so I decided to treat them to Sapporo. We've been lots of times before and it's always been great but sadly not today... the food looked good but the flavours did not make sense. We always go for the ramen so we know what it should be like. The spicy beef ramen was not spicy and the broth was bland and oily. The chicken Tom yum was so spicy you could not taste anything else but heat, yes I am aware its a spicy dish and I love heat but this was bland and incredibly hot. We sent it back it was inedible. We tried the ribs it was awful, super stringy and full of sinew again bland, it's like they ran out of salt and only had 5 spice so they went with it. The bento box was ok, kinda like what my 12 year old would cook and we'd praise her to increase her confidence, edible nice but not great. The katsu curry is the only thing we ordered that remained consistent no complaints on this dish. The service was incredibly lonely, the restaurant was practically empty and yet we still had to walk around to find our server to order and ask for soy sauce (did not come with the bento box) she checked on us once at the beginning of our meal, didnt refill our drinks because i really couldn't be bothered to get up and look for her again. Overall, we won't be back and I won't be recommending sapporo anymore it was a waste of money standards have dropped, in my opinion.

It's a nice experience but you are on the clock from the moment you sit down till the last plate. It feels rushed and the food was okay but it won't blow you away it's more for the show what is good

Didn’t know what to expect as we went after a business meeting and I’d never been before. It was a brilliant night - entertainment from the chef and absolutely beautiful food cooked in front of you. Will definitely go back and highly recommended

Very good experience, will go back. The portions are big, but you can take whatever you can't eat home. Chefs table is the best, 1hr-40 min wait as they need the table to fill up with people. Excellent service. Chefs are friendly and so entertaining, lovely atmosphere.

The food tasted good, I liked the egg fried rice, however I’d say the chicken & sauces were a bit too salty. I went on a Monday evening around 8pm and it was pretty empty. There were only about 2/3 table sections being used. Personally I didn’t like how quiet and empty the place felt, it didn’t add to lively vibes of Teppanyaki. I went there solo, I thought it’d be okay because I expected a round table lively vibe around the cooker, but yh it was rather quiet and empty, felt awkward to be there alone. It was my birthday hence why I went on a Monday but I guess I’d rather go there on a weekend next time. The food proportion was good and the cocktail was good. The chef did try and bring the good vibes and fun, so that was nice.

Celebrated daughter's birthday, with family and friend. The food was good, the prices reasonable, the chefs are entertaining, the waiting staff are all welcoming, polite, attentive and accommodating. The only thing is that for a Japanese restaurant, none of it is authentic. The staff is from around the world, but none of them is Japanese, the food is oriental with Japanese twist. Hense the 4*. If you look for authentic Japanese experience, this is definitely not it. However it was pleasant and enjoyable evening.

First thing having Japanese and we had a ball!! Experience is great fun and highly recommend. We had the samurai and it is a lot of food, I couldn’t finish it all!! We were seated with a stag party and another couple but we all had a good time together! Highly recommend!

The food and atmosphere was spot on.... But what made it for me was the service from the barstaff. Knew what they were serving, and just delivered the best friendly/ professional service I've experienced in awhile. Also I'd like to personally thank Andy the manager/DM on duty. Sadly spilled a drink on friends jumper but was sorted and returned clean, all due to Andy and staff. All night I noticed Andy running drinks and providing tableside service amongst the staff. This is why I'd recommend this restaurant, it was busy and the logistics of staff and customers was mental tbh.... But yet it was the most relaxed and professional service I've experienced in a long time. Massive credit to the chef, barstaff, servers and of course Andy! Be back soon Woody

Absolutely amazing service! I can't thank the bar staff and management enough! Sadly spilled some coffee liquor on my friends jumper.... Staff went above and beyond to help me! Left it with the manager on duty- Andy! He returned it clean and spotless and saved me a massive dry cleaning bill! I will be returning! The food and showman ship was awesome and certainly an experience I'd recommend. However I can't express how grateful I am for the instant help and service provided by Andy, and the staff. A big thank you also to the barstaff, the tequila coffee liqueur might have caused trouble but it was worth it! Thank you Andy and staff, I hope to return soon! Keep doing what you're doing, as an ex bar manager/staff I can't express how much it means to experience and be looked after from the other side of the bar! Our chef (Seabass) was epic... steak was absolute perfection, and his seasoning was out of this world! (You made serving 15people look so easy!) Everything is perfect. Food is awesome and the staff are superb. A word of warning, choose any of the sauces, toppings, whatever you want to call them to go with your meat BUT, and it's a BIG BUT, if you have the garlic and chilli, order a litre of yoghurt in advance. It is hotter than the very pits of he'll. I wept openly in front of staff and customers alike. It was gorgeous and agony at the same time. It made me so happy at the time but also caused me immense pain and trauma, just like married life. So, in short, the food is amazing but choose wisely. My dish was stunningly tasty and my pain was real.

A different dining experience with delicious meat cooked in front of you, but a bit expensive for what you get. I get that your paying for the show of it being cooked for you, but not sure that's still worth the price. We also left smelling of fried food. Good for groups, but I wouldn't go as a couple.

Chicken was dry but the rest of it amazing

It was okay. I came a number of years ago but it seems to have lost its spark. £130 spent and for that a lot of vegetable and sliced potato as filler, only one piece of Sushi, very expensive to be honest and not much to show for it. Nothing Japanese about it really and seems to be living on old glory’s now. Shame as was really looking forward to it, chefs were great though and were Thai so we had a conversation with them whilst cooking which was funny and my wife got their spicy dip.

Welcomed in from the pouring Manchester rain with a big smile and a warm greeting, the fun experience was set right from the start with our coats being take to dry and heat! Juande was our waiter and incredible throughout, helping us choose, knowledgeable of the menu and recommendations from his own experiences. Our chef was so happy and engaging as the repertoire of tricks and master skills shown at the grill. The food was great and both so full! Great monies worth and a brilliant experience. Thank you all

It was very nice to meet such friendly staff who made us have a good time, especially Juande and Kyle who were the ones who took care of our table. The show was quite a spectacle while we enjoyed the food. Of course we will recommend it.

This was my first time here but won't be my last. It isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience. The food is freshly prepared at tables by chefs which is very engaging and interactive. The taste and presentation of the food was exceptional.

Great experience. First time at a teppanyaki restaurant. We booked a table at 1pm but arrived early, and were able to be seated early. We went for the early bird menu which included starter, main and drink. Salmon was exceptional, large portion of fresh egg fried rice and veg. Chef Kenny was great! Staff lovely and attentive! Overall exceptional experience and will be returning!

It was ok. Food is fine to eat but expensive and portions small. We had the set menu and were expecting more for the £49 price. The concept hasn't changed in a many years. I wouldn't hurry back

came here today, and was served by Wut, who was so lively. all of the food was cooked to perfection, and there was a large selection of food, especially for halal food. so so impressed and will be returning again!!

Great fun. Chefs really knew their stuff and put on a good show. Food was delicious and you can't really get fresher! Highly recommend one of the tasting menus, the pace of food was just right. Staff were very accommodating of dietary restrictions and recommended alternatives. Very slick service all round.

Visited tonight and we both had the Emperors taster menu. The food was excellent along with the staff. Entertained by the chiefs whilst watching the food being cooked not the cheapest but the best rarely is. Excellent value for money and had to have the included deserts as a takeaway. Will definitely be visiting again when in Manchester.

Been 4 or 5 times, food pretty good, certainly fresh cooked in front of you. This time, I went at a very busy time so a nice atmosphere. The 'entertainment' was not as good as it usually is (perhaps because it was busy?) The prices were a lot higher than previous and they added a service charge to the bill that I didn't see till after I paid. Parking is still a problem, but that's not their fault. Overall enjoyable meal and experience.

Food is good but it is not authentic, it is more British style Japanese food like most others. And if you want a quiet place to enjoy your meal this is not a place for you, you are forced to engage with the chef's performance. Service is excellent.

Really great experience, chefs were very engaging, entertaining and appeared to be having as much fun as is. Our food was cooked on the griddle in front of our seats, 2 vegetarian choices were cooked separately in the kitchen as the griddle has all the meat on. The chef threw food in to the mouths of customers with great accuracy which was good fun. It was our daughter's birthday and they celebrate birthdays in their own unique way. Very happy with our night there. Fantastic atmosphere made it more enjoyable. Would recommend highly.

Had a wonderful time at Sapporo for my Birthday and the food was great. I was served by Kyle who gave excellent service and was very friendly!

Great food. Great service. Kudos to the chef for the cooking and performance. You’re in for a treat and a show watching the chefs doing their work. Steak was on point with the medium rare. Salmon was tender. Sushi was great as well. Chocolate orange was surprisingly good. If only there are more portions for the sushi then it would be perfect for the experience. We ordered a Samari tasting menu and a 2-courses lunch set. The food was more than enough for 2 person. Chefs are experienced, the service attendants are polite and attention to details. Toilets are clean. Overall an unforgettable experience. Will definitely be going again for celebrations or occasions.

Started a lil bit rocky, not the restaurants fault just our group being disorganised. Kyle and the chefs looked after us really well. And the meat was top notch. Only problem I would have is we booked as a group of 18 when 4 people...

Disappointing Pros - nice staff (bar one) - interesting to see food prepared and enjoyed most elements Cons- Samurai menu - on the menu the only meat is the sirloin steak. We asked to swap it out and that was done no problem. But then the starter which should only be fish/veg came out with meat. It was taken away but then brought back! Confrontational to try make us accept it but you can see on the photos of the menu on here theres only the steak. The chefs throwing food into diners mouths gimmick is fine but it really should only take 1 'no' to get them to move on to a willing participant. I observed them refusing to accept another diner not wanting to participate and left the table to avoid the same situation. One tasting menu is enough food for two people. Blaring club style music was totally unnecessary

Great experience today with our quiet Kyle. Kyle was extremely attentive, really friendly and accommodating. No request was too much for him. We had a large group of 20 and he accommodated us all really well. Thank you Kyle for your outstanding service and friendly face.
