great food, staff very friendly and funny

What can I say? I’ve been Using this restaurant for many years, and I can honestly say that I’ve never had a bad Meal. Ben the owner Always finds space even if there isn’t Any as I said before, fantastic food would highly recommend. 💯

Very mixed feelings about this restaurant. Great service, lovely staff, nice food but the portions are a bit small and it's a bit overpriced. But the biggest disappointment was the noise. The rooms are small and the tables are close together. It was busy which is fine and shows it's popular but we found it difficult to chat with our friends because of the noise around us.

Went here for an early dinner before a concert. Pleased we did- it was excellent. We both had pasta. One carbonara one bolognese. Lovely flavours with quality ingredients. Great atmosphere (we were downstairs). Service was very quick and professional. Open kitchen, which I do like to see! And the owner was front of house, very hands on when needed which I also like. Prices - good value. Excellent restaurant. It deserves its very high Google rating. Thank you

If you hadn't ruined our ONLY family evening we only get maybe once a every year or 2, this would've been at least 4 stars. We booked, arrived on time & you made us wait TWO HOURS with no one bothering to take initiative. Also you'd ran out of steak, so had to reorder. Rather than think: "Our community respects us, let's return that by simply saying; "Apologies but we're fully booked and don't want to ruin your evening (let alone not ruin your relationship with us)" - You chose: 'Stuff 'em, we like fast money too much.' We also had to approach "you" to receive the 50% discount. Because of THAT agreement & that even our tomatoes & chicken dish aren't as good as yours in Malaga, I'm not going to 1 star this experience- but I hope this serves as your reminder to put your customers 1st & your greed in check from here on out! I'm sure your overworked staff would appreciate it too.

We've eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed with either the food or service. Portions are large enough for even the hungriest appetite and the staff are very attentive.

We travelled from Newcastle to visit a friend in Selby and this restaurant came highly recommended. We were advised to book a few days in advance, and we can see why. The place was incredibly busy, yet the staff remained professional and were great hosts. We initially sat at a table near the stairs on the first floor. However, when a window table became available, the staff kindly asked if we would like to move to somewhere a little more special (the champagne may have been a giveaway that we were celebrating). We had butterfly prawns for starters along with a mozzarella dish, supported by a garlic bread. All of which were superb. For main course we had a fillet Rossini and cannelloni. Again, both were utterly superb. All in all, a great night with great food. We shall definitely return when we come back to Selby. Special mention to the young waiter, who went that extra mile to make the experience what it was. For someone so young, his confident, yet friendly and professional approach were a credit to him.

Booked a table online with ease through the website. Got a confirmation later on with a time that fit for us. Both me and my Wife had an absolutely amazing time. Food was exceptional, staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend anyone to go and enjoy. Will definitely be going back again.

Food was decent - my steak was overdone and dry. Staff never checked on our food and if we were happy. Very busy and popular place. Would try going again to see if it was just a one off.

T food and service. Sears a bit soft: uncomfortable after 2 hours

I ate here with a friend last week for the first time due to having read the reviews. We were not disappointed. The service was welcoming and friendly the food was delicious and the atmosphere was just right. The entire restaurant was packed but we were served efficiently yet not rushed. The food was excellent with generous portions and we could not fault a single thing. To achieve service, standard and amazing food is not always easy to find but this unassuming place has it all. Keep up the great work. We will definitely return.

Arrived Hungry, left with a headache. Incredible food, beautiful wines. All spoilt by drunk loud women shouting, screaming and cackling oblivious to how their behavior affects others. Very sad that a lovely evening could be spoilt by such feral women.

The food was good but the service was disappointing. We had to wait over an hour from ordering for our food to arrive. Although our biggest issue was when we got home all our clothes were saturated with the cooking smells from the restaurants kitchen. There are so many 1st class restaurants around the area we won't be going back to Sapori.

Food good atmosphere a bit noisy

Always a pleasure to visit for some well needed Italian grub. Staff are always friendly when waiting. Food is consistently delicious. Do not shy away if it looks 'busy' downstairs as they do have an upper floor to cater for more hungry guests.

What a hidden gem! We've been in Selby with our boat since November and had never tried this restaurant. We only really found it by accident but so glad we did. We booked a table for Friday night but arrived early. No problem or fuss, we were soon seated at a lovely table. The service was polite and efficient and always with a smile. Mrs "C" had the lamb shank and I had the lobster ravioli and both were exceptional. The combination of quality food and great service, with the bonus of a very sensible wine list make it a great evening. They also serve ice cold Moretti!! We'll be back again very soon and if you live within 30 minutes of Selby, it's well worth the drive - trust me!!

Sapori is the most incredible Italian I have ever been to IN MY LIFE! The food is simply incredible. Authentic Italian cuisine cooked to perfection. The staff are so friendly, kind and helpful. The service is great and fast- no long waits for your food. There is always a great atmosphere and plenty of tables at Sapori. This is your sign, if you are reading this, go to Sapori. You won't regret it

Good meal with enjoyable company.

Classic Italian restaurant with a lot of quality in almost all the food. Good quality-price. Good wine list although there was a lack of more variety of Spanish wines (there was only one and we have 6,000 brands). Professional and attentive care from all staff. It is advisable to reserve in advance. It has an interior living room on two floors. There is parking very close with wheelchair access.

Honestly the most authentic Italian restaurant you’ll find in this country. Food is incredible. I’ll be thinking about how succulent the ribs were till my next visit. The specials menu lobster was an absolute delight. Sea food is so fresh and you can tell each dish is freshly made for order. The staff are completely on it. Worth every penny. We will be back!

The place is small, but it gives it a very family friendly touch and feel. Ben, the owner, is lovely, the staff is great, involved and competent, and the food is good for a reasonable price. Also, the food is not your usual "microwaved lasagna & pie" pub grub that can be found in regular pubs. It tastes right! I really like this place. If I was filthy rich, I'd eat there 3+ times a week with pleasure.

3 of us went to Sapori yesterday early bird menu first visit.we were so impressed staff really friendly and service was speedy,food piping hot and absolutely delicious and great value for money .not surprisingly by 6.o'clock restaurant was really busy but we were not rushed to leave at all.really recommend this place we will certainly be back!

Great food but ended there as very poor service, never did get dessert as we seem to have been put in a corner and forgotten! Plus 15 minute wait for the bill. Great food but will not be returning.

Quite good food and service but very noisy

Excellent service good food looked after us

We had some friends over for the weekend and considered where we would go for an evening meal. We wanted somewhere that serves good food so we could relax and enjoy the experience. So we chose our favourite restaurant because the food is consistently excellent, the staff are polite, attentive and friendly. We had a fabulous meal and a great evening - thank you to Ben and all his staff.

Went mid week, we had the early bird specials, 3 courses for £22. Food excellent, service excellent. Could not fault on anything.

Came across this restaurant whilst visiting our son,what a little gem. Food was delicious and hot,staff were so attractive to all we needed.all who worked there work with a smile,spoke to owners who were more than happy to talk about the food etc if you decide to try this restaurant make sure you book a table. Nice food, maybe a touch too much of something sweet on the pizza's but more expensive than most and stuffy with insufficient ventilation. It was full though, so maybe that doesn't matter...

The food was absolutely beautiful but unfortunately for us the service was a big let down we was clearly on a table that was forgotten about it was our first experience there and we shouldn't have to keep asking for everything constantly trying to get staffs attention other tables had complimentary servings we had nothing 3 members of staff we asked to pay our bill one lady was lovely and very apologetic but when you have just paid them 80.00 apologies are to late I'm afraid. I won't pay good money to be made to feel like we are a burden.
