This restaurant has excellent food with good portions, a very friendly service and excellent value for money. We went there a couple of times during our holiday.

Food is ok, would return. Place seems pretty busy.

Possibly the worst Chinese I’ve ever had, when ordering the takeaway the lady taking the orders was miserable, the actual restaurant is really dated, the food didn’t look freshly cooked at all, everything was very dark, the bbq sauce was like gravy, this is our second bad meal from here.

Just enjoyed a delicious family meal here. We had a wide variety of dishes, all of which were perfectly cooked and very tasty. Menu looks like standard Chinese but the food we had definitely had an edge. The Vietnamese style prawns were particularly good. House wine was reasonable for the price. Service was excellent. Overall a lovely experience and highly recommend.

1 just bloody awful food- mushy tasteless noodles, non existent beef in the Crispy “beef”, strips of cardboard for chips, gelatinous fatty ribs, waste of my hard earned £50. This was ment to be a treat for the family but was just a treat for the restaurant getting my money in exchange for 3rd rate off tasting mush /cardboard/ fat.

Ordered a takeaway meal for the family. Chicken in batter with sweet and sour sauce, crispy beef, chicken in black bean sauce, noodles and egg fried rice. Everything was great and very tasty, enjoyed by the whole family . A great takeaway option in Saundersfoot

Ordered from here for the first time since dragon palace went down hill. I absolutely loved it. The chips were incredible. They also deliver which is a huge plus. Great overall. New favourite!

Strongly suspect we suffered food poisoning after visiting. I visited with my young son, in an otherwise empty restaurant, which should perhaps have been a warning. We ordered a sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style, and a crispy beef, along with a portion of chips. The chips were quite pleasant, but unfortunately neither of the mains were very good. The beef, in particular, was very unpleasant, with a weird fishy taste, as another reviewer had mentioned. I use fish sauce quite liberally in my own Chinese cooking, and it was definitely not similar to that, so I have no idea what that was unless perhaps the oil needed changing. I regularly visit Chinese restaurants and takeouts, and cook a lot of more authentic Asian food myself, and overall this was one of the worse I recall having, I left feeling that I would have preferred a different cuisine or not eating anything rather than the food we ordered. Most of the dishes were hot, but there were some pieces that seemed much colder. My 4 year son ate the sweet and sour chicken happily enough, but spat the beef out (he usually likes both dishes), and didn’t eat as much of the sweet and sour as he usually does at other places. After the meal, we got home and went to bed, and a short time after, both of us woke up being violently sick. Whilst it is possible that we had picked up a bug or something, our symptoms and timing suggested it was most likely that we had suffered food poisoning. I called the restaurant the following day, to make them aware, so they could investigate at their end and address any issues if they did arise. However, when I got put on to the manager, he was exceptionally dismissive and blaming us for being ill. I was told that it must have been something else we ate (we had snacked all day and hadn’t had another proper meal), that it was hot outside (odd that we both woke up at almost the same time being ill) and my personal favourite, that the food had too much chilli for us to handle. Firstly, I quite regularly consume very spicy with no issue, and secondly, there seemed to be next to no chilli in the beef, and sweet and sour chicken does not contain chilli, and my son didn’t eat more than a bite of the beef. They then claimed (as a complete fabrication) that I had asked for both dishes to be extra hot and contain a lot of chilli - at this point it was obvious to both of us that this was a complete lie, but he maintained this stance, dramatically saying that even when cooking, he could barely tolerate the heat of the dishes we had. After I stated that this was clearly false, they hung up on me. I did manage to call back and speak to the other lady working there, who was equally dismissive, and stating that it was impossible for it to be food poisoning as they always cook the dishes the same, though when I asked her whether she would expect chilli in a sweet and sour, she stated that she was not involved in the cooking so couldn’t possibly know, while also claiming that her son gets ill for up to a week if she takes him to a chip shop, and a host of other things to not accept that they were even possibly responsible. I honestly cannot understand how businesses with such attitudes continue to exist. Whether for the taste of the food, the risk of food poisoning, or the attitude of the staff and management, I would thoroughly recommend not visiting this establishment, and patronising a business who actually value their customers.

Good value Vietnamese restaurant and takeaway. Friendly service.

Excellent meal it was so tasty, probably one of the best Asian meals we have eaten, service was great as well, staff very helpful and friendly will certainly go back. They also deliver so keep that in mind if you don't feel like going out

A few nights in Saundersfoot with family ordered a takeaway and collected. Wow, absolutely gorgeous food, very impressed. Delicious.

This was the worst Chinese Meal I have ever had. Vegetarian spring rolls Over cooked, Crispy Chilli Beef tasted like Fish with no evidence of Beef, Curry sauce tasted like a came out of a Jar no seasoning what so ever. Leaving with a sick feeling. I can honestly say I will never go back and after reading some of the comments saying how good this place is they need to go out more.

I called in to order a take-away and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. On my return, my order was there waiting for me, Good service. Nothing wrong with the food at all. Very tasty. Nice flavours. We had Special Crispy Rolls £3.20, Sweet & Sour Chicken Cantonese Style £6.90, Golden Dragon Special Chow Main £6.80 and Fried Rice £2.50. Decent price as well. Thanks.

2nd visit this evening, we enjoyed the 1st, however tonight was the complete opposite staff miserable, ignorant and missing. Felt like we had walked into a row. Maybe they should just do take away in future. Very very Dissatisfied and can honestly say never experienced this level anywhere. Won't go back again.

After researching Chinese food in saundersfoot this came out as highly recommended. I really do have to disagree. We had beef chow main Singapore chow main calamari Salt and chilli with sea weed and quater roast duck with pancakes. There was no taste in the beef chow main and it lacked any sort of moisture. The Singapore looked like someone someone had regurgitated it. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Even the dog wouldn't eat it. Give it a wide birth.....never again!

Very old decor (prob end of the'80's) but clean and food decent. Some here have said bland, but to be fair it's home cooked and the fact I didn't wake up thirsty and with a headache means they don't load it all up with MSG. We had lemon chicken and it came with a load of lemon slices on top. Ignore these and it was a bit bland. Squeeze them on top and the dish came to life. Probably how it's meant to be...

The most expensive food I have had from China, I could have imported it from China for less. The bird behind the counter was coughing her guts up, then we seen the old man cooking, wellies on walking through the restaurant, it was like the hills have eyes in there. Never again.

We ate here yesterday evening. The food was amazing and the front of house lady was very friendly and helpful. The portions were large and she decanted the leftovers into take away boxes for us at our table. Would definitely eat here again.

Four of us ate here almost as a last resort when many other restaurants in Saundersfoot were already fully booked. It was empty on arrival and we were a little wary, but we need not have worried. The menu was extensive and varied and the portions were generous. We enjoyed an assortment of starters and shared three mains and several portions of rice. The food was served on hot plates and kept warm on warmers. It was delicious but we weren't quite able to finish it all. I enjoyed our visit and would definitely go there again.

Food was dry, over cooked to the point of Ash and the waiting time for collection was ridiculous. Really really disappointing.

On a very windy and rainy Saturday evening in Saundersfoot, the Sao Mai Dragon was a great find. Delicious food, obviously freshly made and a really friendly welcome. Generous helpings, we were defeated but I would highly recommend and we will certainly be back. Thank you so much for a lovely supper.

My daughter went in for a takeaway while we were on holiday and they let her and my grandson sit at the tables with a glass of lemonade while waiting for the meal,the takeaway was delicious especially the beef and mushrooms-if we are ever back in the area we would most certainly order from there.

Have just eaten with you and can honestly say the food was delicious and the service brilliant. Thank you so much for a lovely evening. We will definitely be back and would recommend 100%.

Greeted with a Smile. Fantastic and efficient service. Great value for money. Generous portions, well seasoned dishes..... Catering for all tastes. Prepared very quickly and a comfy seating area for collections. 10/10.

We had a takeaway from this restaurant and two meals in the restaurant itself and all of them were superb!! Fantastic flavours of the ingredients and a huge change to so many run of the mill Chinese restaurants. The Vietnamese influence really shows through! Service was swift and smiley, but it’s the food itself that’s so memorable.

First class food and service , we dined in and ordered the mixed starter , spare ribs ,prawn toast ,spring rolls ,samosas and crispy seaweed which came with a sweet chilli dip , which was served piping hot an tasty to boot .Followed by the Golden Dragon Special Chow Mein and the Golden Dragon Special curry ( both with assorted meats) and a portion of fried rice and prawn crackers . The Chow Mein was as tasty as any i have eaten and the curry crammed full of tasty chicken , pork , prawns and mushrooms , The food was so nice that we visited again two days later and despite the vast menu we settled for the exact same meal again , i cannot fault the food or the service and if the never ending procession of take of take away orders that went by our table is anything to go by neither do the natives .

Not to sure what had been going on in the weeks previous to our visit due to the reviews. Whenever we go to Saundersfoot our first night is a takeaway from here. We phoned the order through and collected our meal. Lovely food ,really hot, and tasty. We stayed two weeks this time, and went back for another takeout in the second week. Thankyou for a nice meal.

Excellent veggie food and very tasty. The veggie noodles were really nice and the portion size was good, especially for my 16 month old son who loved it as it had lots of vegetables. Myself and my wife ordered tofu in hot sauce, egg fried rice, veggie spring rolls and prawn crackers. All the food was delicious and the portion size was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is parking near a tesco near the restaurant which is pay and display or mobile app pay. A must go place to eat, definately recommend people who are vegetarian to eat here.

Simple yet lovely family run restaurant. Don’t think we have ever seen a menu so extensive. The food was fresh and so delicious. The couple who own the restaurant truly are hospitable and made us feel welcome. Not to mention great value for money considering the quality of the food. Highly recommend it.

Thought others should know our experience. On a short staycation in saundersfoot. Thought we'd have a take out as most restaurants booked up. Quite frankly the 3.8 average stars are misleading we ordered seven different meals and not one of them had any taste at all , i never knew food could be so bland if we weren't so hungry it would have gone back as it wasn't cheap either. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Food was superb accept for 1 dish. Very friendly staff, my only quibble was how they were dressed! Felt like I was in a Vegas Show Room!. Over all, prices reasonable, restaurant clean, food good 👍🏼

The staff complete this place. Wonderful, charming and full of manners. Ordered food to be picked up at 8pm. Ordered around 6:50 told there was a 45mins wait. Said we would collect at 8. Arrived just before 8 to 2 wonderful girls smoking outside. One followed me in to let me know "they were closed" i explained we had ordered.They were closed. Someone was ill. (I wasn't disputing that, I am disputing how they run a business) They didn't have my number to let me know. Its 2021, who doesn't have caller ID. I am pretty sure they will have it. Of course they do, what happens when someone orders food and doesn't turn up Just couldn't be bothered. Too busy enjoying their Marlboro gold. Could have been the best Chinese ever. We will never know.For the attitude of Smokey Mcghee alone this place needs closing down.

We phoned to place order and gave us a time to collect, then had to wait another half an hour and the food was tasteless.

Service slow do not recommend Told us 40 minutes still waiting after an hour, they told us it be another 15 - 20minutes. Had money returned they werent very happy or nice and they told us the were extremely busy but barely had anyone there.

Really friendly staff, just walked in to eat even though we thought we may have to book. Only down side was cash only. Lovely food and portions were enough for 2 to share with a few dishes. 👍👍

Where do I start walked in to a very unpleasant lady who was apparently the head host. Sat down to starters that was burnt and the meat was chewy paid up and left

Had a lovely meal, was a bit dubious because of the restaurant's decor and the staff didn't look very professional. We had the cantonese set meal for 2 and it was lovely. Would recommend.

The meal was very disappointing. The special curry was bland and watery, also it looked like it contained tinned vegetables. The special chow mein was dry and contained only chicken despite being advertised as mixed meat. The salt and chilli squid tasted burnt. Chicken with black bean sauce was ok. Overall I was really looking forward to it, but after tasting it, instantly regretted my decision to order from here.

Surprised to see Vietnamese food in Pembrokeshire, was not disappointed. Both the crispy duck and prawn salad roll were great. They deliver to Amroth and managed to find our holiday house with no delay.

Really nice food,rang for a telephone order to collect..young man who answered was very helpful and polite, we ordered mixture of dishes from rice to chow mien they were all delicious .. chicken balls were really crispy and tasty.. would recommend this place.. great service , lady on front counter was also lovely..

We were unable to get a table on a busy Thursday night in August and on the off chance tried the Sao Mai restaurant. They had a table for us, although were extremely busy with deliveries and take away orders. Thoroughly enjoyed the crispy beef with sweet and sour sauce.

Visited Saundersfoot to visit Oakwood and folly farm. We wanted to go to dragon palace but only doing take away, tried Australian restaurant but fully booked. Settled here as big fan of Vietnamese and Asian food. One other family in restaurant and most customers were ordering takeaway.Very attentive good service, however food not great, also a lot of food and way too much. Not sure if these are normal welsh portions but it was a lot. Had to order rice separately as well. Expensive for what it was but I know saundersfoot is generally quite expensive. Was in and out within 40 minutes, I think we will try somewhere else next time.

Located right in the middle of Saundersfoot, a very good Vietnamese/ Cantonese restaurant and take away, typical Chinese’s menu selection average prices and all our meals were well prepared.

Excellent food and good delivery

Ordered a takeaway for pickup when opened the sweet and sour chicken balls were well overcooked, very dark brown and not crispy batter soggy. very disappointing. Yes had a bag of chips as well, soggy not particularly appetising, but we were hungry. Chicken and cashew nuts was actually not to bad. Overall for price, disappointing.

Don't bother food was shocking. Was meant to be my family birthday meal. Food burnt, missing, and what we did have was horrible. Even the bottle of beer was out of date. We ordered won tons and got picture 6 (meant to have meat in it in a ball). And as for the spring rolls they was a big sloppy fatty mess. And the sauce was just watered down and tasted shocking. And as for the beef in bamboo and water chestnuts very fatty cheap meat and was shameful. Don't bother one big rip off

Took wife for a birthday meal, we were the only people in restaurant, ordered four dishes including fried rice. All cane covered in BBQ sauce. Starters took 35 min main course took 1 hour 3 min. Complained and owner came out and said they only use two sauces for all dishes....BBQ sauce and sweat and sour sauce.....never had fried rice with BBQ sauce on it before. All the food was cold and flat fraught larger, no bitter.....bottles of soya sauce on table were past the best before date.....not recommended.

Ordered by phone, and was told it’d be done in 25mins. Arrived there 30mins later only to be made to wait 20mins with no information. Their sofa was full of people waiting for takeaway. The waitress disappeared right after I arrived, I’m pretty sure she was in the kitchen cooking the food? If I hadn’t already paid, and if there actually had been a waiter there to talk to, I’d have left. We were starving and thought good things come to those who wait. Absolutely not in this case. It was so bad I can’t believe we paid for it, I wouldn’t have eaten it for free. I’m not even sure what it was? It tasted of nothing at all, it was watery and the texture of meat and veg was off. We ordered 4 different items, usually something good can be said for one at least, not in this case. Please just stop giving people food like that, it’s not cool. I can’t imagine what’s gone wrong for someone to find it within them to serve that. I fed my dog after, seriously considered having a few kibbles. After that meal the stuff caught in my sink filter seem appetising.

Below average Chinese take away style food (we had hoped for some vietnamese but pretty much everything here was british style chinese takeaway food).. Despite being the only ones in the restaurant we waited half an hour... Not sure if they were just having an off day, but based on our experience I wouldn't recommend that you visit for anything other than British style Chinese takeaway

Often overshadowed by a nearby Resturant in Pentlepoir I've always rated the food and friendliness of this Resturant.Service is good and the quality of the dishes is excellent I enjoy visiting here more so than any other place in Saundersfoot simply because the food is quality something that is lacking in the village.

Ordered a takeaway from here for the first time Sunday night. Ordered a Singapore Chow Mein, amongst other dishes. This was the most tasteless bland Singapore chow mein I have ever had in my life and I’ve had a few from all over. You had to hunt the meat, mostly veg, and it was just tasteless no spice to it or anything and found the other dishes the same. Also the waiting time of 15 mins turned out to be 50 mins. Will never come back here again. Can’t believe it has 41 excellent reviews

Good service amazing food spot on

We visit this restaurant every year on holiday and always order the veg curry and one of the tofu dishes. All of the vegetables are all fresh and the tofu is the best I have ever had. The staff are very pleasant.

We have previously visited this place - about 2 yrs ago.We tried it again as it was OK.We turned up at 8pm in Sat and the place was empty. The kitchen was lively and there seemed to be lots of Take Away orders.Notwithstanding that, we were served promptly and the food was good. Just enough without being too much.It is probably a little overpriced - but the food is worth it. When we left about 90 mins later the place was three other tables, mainly locals as they all seemed to know the staff.

Tasty food in a nice environment.

We rang through our order (for 7 adults and two children) and it was ready to collect in 40 minutes. Food was fine apart from the lemon chicken - the chicken (served separately) was very good but the sauce which came in a separate pot was only identifiable as lemon as there was a piece of lemon on top of it - otherwise it was completely tasteless. Having said that, the rest of the dishes were good. One thing that we did notice was that there were no complimentary prawn crackers provided which is usual with the Chinese takeaways back home but that may just be a regional thing?

Was quiet when we arrived and was seated straight away but seemed to concentrate more on takeaway meals than serving us.Although I expect to pay more to eat on the premises, most dishes were between 90p & £1.50 extraand the sweet & sour prawn balls I had were a whole £5.00 more expensive!!! A good sized meal to eat in could possibly cost almost twice the price of a takeaway! Have been here twice before and thought itwas better value then rather than what it was last week.

After many years, having what was always good service and quality food, I’ve had the worst experience this evening. Gave a damn good tip to the delivery driver only to find our first dish was not what I ordered, but hey I ring the restaurant to point this out, only to be called a liar, I could go on but what would be the point!!! Needless to say this is our last time, one thing I will not tolerate is, being blamed for their failings

We read reviews that said the service was slow. That turned out to be the case. So don't go here if you are in a rush. However we did enjoy the evening. The 2 young ladies we had serving us were bonkers but crucially the food we had was reasonably good
