Santiago's Tapas in Cardiff

Tapas selection although quite standard, were very good and quick to come out. The waiter was helpful and the wine menu well suited. Would visit again.

After spending 170 pounds on my Birthday meal, A cake of which we purchased was brought into the restaurant on the plastic tray packaging it came in, put on the table with out any plates or even cutlery. Over enthusiastic scruffy staff. Food was bland but ok .

Really enjoyed this Spanish Tapas in the heart of Cardiff. There was a good range of dishes to choose from keeping all the family happy. This included good choices for the Gluten free of us and youngsters.Particularly enjoyed the dates and bacon, chorizo and potato, lamb stew and fish goujons. Ordered about 2.5 tapas per person and this was ample just leaving enough for the fabulous churros for dessert. Staff were really friendly and helpful. This was for a pre theatre meal. The food came very quickly which was ideal.

I came here on Valentines day and am still not over how awful the customer service was.It's safe to say I've never felt less welcome in a restaurant in all my life. The staff were so rude, frankly could not be arsed and laughed in our face when he asked for new cutely when ours has been taken away (?). Incredibly rude. Staff members basically threw our food to us. Both staff members we were served by had a seriously bad attitude and faces like thunder. The restaurant wasn't busy so can't blame it on this either.I will never come here again. Food was decent but the service was *awful*.Would not recommend.

We stopped by for a pre dinner drink and some tapas. We had 2 very nice glasses of red wine with garlic bread, canarian potatoes and fried padron peppers. All delicious and hit the spot. We aee vegans and there was plenty for.us to chose from. We will be back!

Happened on this place walking by in the afternoon. Came back and wow, not disappointed. Fantastic authentic tapas. Great service. Lovely people. If you want to feel like you’re back in Spain come here. You’ll love it.

Started off quite well. Good selection of wine and drinks. Menu not very accommodating of veggies (of which there were two in our group).Food came quickly but in general it was fairly average. All heavily garlicked. Friend’s main of salmon raw in the middle. Paella cold and sent back. When it came back there was no meat in it. Rest of the food just ok. Have had much better tapas. Staff agreed to take main off the bill and not charge for side dish however when asked that the inedible paella be removed too strong sense of reluctance from waiter and we had to insist. Service charge added although he was about 10 seconds away from us requesting that this be removed too! We didn’t and it was paid although this too was sub par especially when dealing with complaints. Surly looks from other wait staff. Totally not necessary. At the end of the day us asking for items to be removed from the bill doesn’t affect their pay packet?! Might suit them better to ensure toilets are clean. They weren’t!! Wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend either. Pity.

They give me a table near toailet, and the door of toailet was open all time … Paella de Mariscos was horrible, rice and sea food overcooked , like a creamOf rice … very disappointed… When I tell to staff that the rice was overcooked she tell me “OK”… but 8£ service charge.

A warm welcome, tasty food, a lovely vibe. We be tried 5 tapas dishes that were all full of flavour. We recommend the patatas bravas and sardines particularly. Friendly waitress and bar manager (from cuba) who made me a stunning non alcoholic mojito. A little gem, we will definitely be back

Fabulous food, superb service and the sangria that was recommended was the best I’ve had in a long while. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.

Delicious food, plenty of tasty flavours and choice. Portion size is great for about four dishes as a standard meal. We did share some dishes between the four of us. Menu could be made easier to read, especially after a glass of their sangria, which is highly recommended.

Excellent everythingI simply can't believe some of the above negative reviews going for Satigago Whitchurch, Cardiff over Dec 21 and Jan 22.I counter everything they say and they need to stop being so picky or simply communicate with the restaurant properly (when they are there) instead of moaning after when it's too late. Anyway! Enough of THEM!The service was excellent. The food was amazing and the wine quite good too. Staff we're very attentive, we received quick service and the staff very welcoming and friendly.Would highly recommend.Thank you Santiagos Whitchurch, Cardiff my wife and I had a lovely birthday meal.

This was the best tapas we have ever had,since the last time we were in Malaga a couple of years ago. Great size portions. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff and great service. Would highly recommend.

We visited the “restaurant” earlier this evening booking a table online. At no point of booking did it say it closed early or they would not serve paella past a certain time and at no point when we were shown to our table and given the menu were we told either (Booking was 7.45pm!) we were not seen to take a food order until 8.15 by which point we’re told the kitchen might be closed. After checking, we were then told it was open but would not take an order for paella. We ordered a selection of small plates, and out of around 8, were then told again that 3 were not available.It’s safe to say we will not be booking here again and are so disappointed after reading the initial reviews. Poor service and clearly lazy chefs who don’t give care and attention to their customers.

The food was tasteless and lukewarm. Squid was undercooked and tough. Hygiene was poor, general interior was dirty and dire need of a clean. The waitress had her hair down and very long fake nails looked very unclean. But they did remove the squid from the bill when we asked. Such a shame as it looked like it has a lot of potential.

Not bad. Fairly basic tapas menu but quality was good and prices are reasonable and good choice of wine. All staff were very friendly.

We must have walked past this place hundreds of times and never noticed it. Tonight we are there following our visit to the Winter Wonderland. What a little gem of a restaurant! Granted, it’s a little tired decor wise, but it had a certain vibe. The food was amazing and in abundance. Too much actually, but it was served quickly by really pleasant staff and nothing was too much trouble for them. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Lovely, flavourful food, great little place and lovely staff. Will definitely be back!

We ordered a few tapas and mains to share. One of the mains is one of my favourite dishes from Spain and me, being Spanish, I knew what I was expecting to receive.When the secreto ibérico came to the table, it looked as thin as a lettuce and black. It was definitely not secreto. I am not sure if they ran out and instead of saying, we don’t have it available; they just gave us a thin bacon they had somewhere in the fridge. I also had to show the waitress a photo of the actual dish and I could say that she was also surprised. (Maybe they’ve never seen how that meat should look like or even be cooked)If this is the meat they are normally serving, I would like them to remove it from their menu. What a disappointment.The rest of the food was alright. I wouldn’t call it Spanish, but it was fine.

For me, some time ago, it was a nice surprise to find this lovely Spanish restaurant in the heart of Cardiff. Unfortunately, today I came with my family and ( maybe because of COVID or Brexit, who knows?) I have to say the place is not as good as it used to be. Their "Huevos rotos con chorizo" were quite disappointing, as the chorizo was hot rather than spicy. Difficult for the staff to take the others properly because of the loud reggaeton music playing. More like a club than a restaurant. Not sure if this happened because it was on a Sunday and there was no one from the management around. Missing the Spanish former crew there though. I will have to try the one in Whitchurch. But quite disappointed this time.

Good food and a sound range of tapas. Efficient service and traditional atmosphere. We particularly liked the fish dishes.

Visited Sunday lunchtime and thought the food was pretty good with excellent service from the waiters. However the same can’t be said about the toilets. As soon as you started walking down the stairs you could tell that the floor was dirty and the women’s toilets had obviously not been cleaned- there was even a half glass of wine still on the sink from the night before. Not the standard you should expect considering what’s happening around the world at the moment.

Visited the city centre restaurant yesterday for the 1st time as people were raving about this restaurant. Wasn’t very impressed as when we were seated next to the mirror area the orange shelf was dirty and dusty with wine glass rings on it. The staff were lovely. The food was not nice at all. The prawns were swimming in a bowl of tasteless greasy oil. The peppers again were tasteless. Overall the experience was not a good one. I would not recommend

We booked a table after walking past the evening before and the guy's looked after us brilliantly! The food was excellent and the choice of tapas was exactly what we were looking for, the staff were really helpful and we even chatted with the chef as we took our seats. If your in Cardiff and want a touch of Spain then give it a go you'll love it!

The guy managing the restaurant was just excellent...very good chemistry and so switched on... However the food wasn't of the same grade...suggest the kitchen staff spend some time in Madrid!

Excellent tapas restaurant, with really good value for money dishes. The staff were v welcoming and friendly. It is quite small so would recommend booking in advance. We were sat outside and staff looked after us really well. The padron peppers are spicy!

Booked a table for 4 last month. On arrival the place was empty ( City centre). The waiter kept us standing as he couldn't find our booking, he eventually said we could sit when my friend showed him the printed off booking conformation. I have ordered patas bravas many times in the UK and abroad, but never have I had it with no sauce. My meal consisted of dry chicken skewers and little roasted potatoes which had been frozen, no tomato and garlic sauce. Needless to say I would not recommend Santiago s or would I return for food

Visited Santiago on a Saturday evening at the recommendation of my son and enjoyed so much we returned on the Sunday evening. The food was great and the service prompt. Would highly recommend.

I have always wanted to try this place for food and so for mine and my partners joint 30th birthday, this was one of the places that was chosen. BIG MISTAKE!! The waitress (brunette curly hair) was unbelievably rude. I have never received such awful service before. My sister in law is pregnant and suffering with a bad back so we asked if we could be seated on the lower chairs (there were tables were empty) rather than the bar stools and after that, the attitude we received from this girl was absolutely disgusting. She walked away as we were trying to order things, she didn’t want to look at us whilst taking our order, she didn’t check our table was happy, she was completely and utterly rude. For someone who has worked in hospitality most of my life, I know how important service is...This girl clearly does not. We will never return and I will be letting others know of our completely disappointing experience.

Great Tapas at a really good price. Staff were really friendly although one young lad looked like he needed and injection of energy. Really busy little place that turned away lots of people so you do need to book. Food was tasty and service was speedy will definitely go back if ever in Cardiff

First visit for some months. Excellent tapas and service. Can’t fault any aspect. Restaurant busy which is good to see. Owners know what they are doing in a competitive market. Long may they continue.

Fantastic food, literally feel like I’m on holiday in Spain. Very authentic food. Service was exceptional - very attentive, friendly but not over the top. Welcoming restaurant. Don’t leave Cardiff without visiting!!! Thank you for a lovely meal.

We looked at the reviews on TA and thought they were quite mixed with very good and very poor reviews. We decided to give it a try. The food was excellent, the service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Will definitely visit again when next in Cardiff

Had the mixed meat and cheese with the bacon wrapped dates for lunch. Absolutely delicious - dates perfect and the mixed meat and cheese board with warm french bread came with an apple jelly that was beyond delicious. Lovely friendly staff. Highly recommend. No photos as we tucked in right away.

We had a really lovely meal here. The tapas were delicious and there were some nice choices. The waiters were very responsive, once we got their attention, as we were sitting outside. It was a lovely warm evening when we had out meal and it could have felt quite continental, if not for the rowdy customers in the restaurant opposite - there’s not a lot Santiago’s can do about that but it’s the main reason for 4* rather then 5*. We will come again .

Just really poor to be honest.Patas Bravas with mayonnaise not a tomato base, poor quality Calamari, cheese and Spanish meat board with slices of meat like “chunks” ?Really? I could go on…Just don’t go ….Sorry Santiago you have let yourself down …

The food was fantastic, traditional Tapas at a great price. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.

Awful experience, slow service in a tiny noisy restaurant. Food arrived and was tepid at best, poor experience. When I complained to the young dark haired waitress she just jerkedfrom left to right raising her shoulders without comment. PATHETIC!! 😖😩😡

Great experience! We are a Spanish couple and we went out with friends for a meal. It was great.The jug of Sangria was perfect and delicious, we recommended it. We loved all the tapas. The bill came to £100 for 4 people and we left full. Croquetas, chipirones, bravas and stew were outstanding Pinchos, paella, ensaladilla, olives were very good tooThe only tiny thing- the tarta Santiago was a fluffy cake. That is not a real/true representation of the almond tarta de Santiago but it tasted nice.

Good and service was fantastic The octopus was as good as eating it in Spain Disappointed not to have seen Sangria on the menu.

Enjoyed tapas with friends. Food was good although a little disappointed with paella. Service was a little slow but it was quite busy.

I don’t normally bother writing reviews but this was the most authentic tapas meal I have had outside of Spain! Really enjoyable and delicious! I’ve meant to write this up for a bit and finally got around to it. The next best thing to not being able to visit Spain yet!

Wasn't a fantastic experience, the seafood tasted frozen and not great. Raw garlic was served with our garlic mushrooms, everything was greasy and it didn't sit well on our stomachs after we went home. Really wouldn't recommend.

Fantastic food, really tasty, great service, can’t wait to go back! Recommend the chorizo a la cidre if you like a bit of kick

Visited today (03/08) on a beautiful sunny Cardiff day. We sat outside as it was so nice. Tapas was great - plentiful and very tasty plus lovely churros as dessert. Finished with a couple of Aperol spritzes which were massive but also very good! Staff were stretched as it was very busy and there was only two of them but they really did their best and were endlessly polite and cheerful at all times despite being run off their feet! In all honesty they probably deserve a pay rise if today is anything to go by. A very enjoyable couple of hours spent - will definitely return to Santiago’s when in Cardiff next.

Having been to Santiago’s in Whitchurch- which was great- we decided to try the city centre restaurant.Service was prompt and friendly and our food was very good overall- especially the sea bass and chicken pinchos.Maybe the chicken and chorizo paella was overdone but we would recommend.

The food took over an hour to arrive when not busy and was missing some main ingredients i.e. chicken in a chicken and seafood paella...

Tried to eat there last night but informed that outside tables were reserved so we made a point of reserving outside table for tonight. Arrived 15 minutes early sat down on outside table only to be informed table not available apparently anothwe couple had booked it despite us already being seated, we wete told we had bookedan inside table which we definately had not. Staff were totally indifferent so we left.

Great meal here last night with friends. Excellent, friendly service and the food was amazing. There was a really good choice of tapas and the restaurant has a great atmosphere that made for a fabulous night.

Arrived on Friday afternoon not very busy ordered 4 plate from tapa menu 3 arrived within minutes the last plate we heard binging in the microwaves. The croquettes were rock hard and the beef stew was tasteless. There was not atmosphere with silence most of time when phone rang background music was turned off there was no interaction with the staff I will not be going back

We were really looking forward to a meal out here having eaten here a few times, last time being just before the winter lockdown. I am not sure what has gone wrong with the food but it was not a patch on what we have had before. We ordered paella which is a dish we both love but it was hugely disappointing. It was under seasoned - dry and fairly tasteless - the fish was completely overcooked as was the chicken which was also dry - the calamari was chewy - all in all not a patch on what even the most basic place in Spain would produce. The olives and bread starter was also not anything like as good as we have had here before. Mostly those pimento stuffed olives you buy by the jar in Lidl with just four nice big ones on top. With all the red wine priced at over £20 a bottle it ends up being a lot of money for what was a not very good meal. Such a shame and very disappointing as it is somewhere we can walk to and were hoping would become our local 'go to' place.

Friendly welcoming and efficient staff. Freshly cooked delicious food. Gambas pil pil and Pullo Gallega both delicious, marinated sardines excellent and super fresh. Everything we had over the two days hit the spot. All washed down with alcohol free Estrella. Shame live in Brighton as it could easily be our new go to Tapas Bar. Well done guys your family run places have it just right. Would recommend to anyone who loves doing the whole Tapas thing and a nice way to spend some time chilling after all that shopping!

The food is well prepared and tasty. The basic decor takes you to a little Spanish village somewhere making you feel like you’re in a genuine Spanish local.

Con suerte hemos dado con este sitio y la verdad es que hemos comido muy bien! Sobre todo tengo que destacar las croquetas, que estaban increíbles y el pulpo delicioso. Las puntillas y la ensaladilla rusa tambien estaban bastante bien. Hemos acabado con una tarta de Santiago muy rica y esponjosa! Lo unico malo es que la cerveza no estaba muy fría. Muy buena calidad-precio y el cocinero muy majo ya que nos ha dado a probar las patatas bravas que estaban tambien muy ricas. Sin duda repetiriamos :)

Went for lunch on Friday afternoon. Given a warm welcome by the staff and service was quick and efficient. We ordered off the tapas menu. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. Couldn’t fault a single thing. Would recommend to anyone passing by and I’ll definitely go back

We had a couple of days away in Cardiff, which has a massive choice of eateries but decided to go for tapas. Santiagos is in a narrow lane lined with bars and restaurants with a great view of the church. It has outside seating. We ordered a sharing cheese and meat board which was incredible with proper cured Spanish meats and manchego cheese -absolutely delicious. We also shared a few small dishes which were also delicious. We had to ask 3 times for our water, but other than that the service was excellent. Great place to sit and people watch whilst enjoying authentic tapas and some excellent rose wine.

No representa en absoluto a la gastronomía española. No entiendo cómo tiene buenos comentarios. La comida no tenía calidad. Las croquetas y los calamares fritos eran asquerosos.

Tapas without tapas :-(Booked table for Wednesday lunch after bank holiday, turned up 25 mins early but not a problem - was sat to table. Given Menus and left to browse. 20 mins later gentleman comes to take our order. We start by ordering meat and cheese platter to share, sorry haven’t got enough meat or cheese for that - not a problem moved to next item - again oh no can’t do that - after running through a few dishes - the waiter said we have no meat or cheese - as we had a busy weekend ( it’s Wednesday). We decided to leave.It would have been nice to be notified that a highly restricted menu was in operation. Or to be told that there was no meat or cheese dishes.

Fuimos a comer 4 amigos (españoles todos) ilusionados ante la perspectiva de probar comida de nuestra tierra en Cardiff. Bofeton en toda la cara. Empezando con unos precios desorbitados (estamos acostumbrados): 18 libras una jarra de sangria? Enserio? Aunque eso no habria sido determinante. Habriamos pagado gustosos 10 veces mas si hubiese merecido la pena. Que asco! Unas bravas con mayonesa, patatas de congelados del Tesco. Enserio no pueden cortar y freir unas patatas? Eso es cocinar?. Unas croquetas de "pollo" ( uno de nosotros no come cerdo) y resulta que las trajeron de jamon! Alucinante. De denuncia. Pero ademas croquetas de jamon de congelados otra vez! Pero congelados malos ni siquiera son para comprar congelados de calidad... eso si, 7 pounds...En este punto ya teniamos el alma en los pies pero es que aun no habiamos probado la siguiente aberracion: unos calamares que seguro salieron de una rueda de coche usada. Duros? Ni el escudo del Capitan America. Los devolvimos. Eran intragables. Tuvieron la deferencia de no cobrarlos eso si.Para concluir, siempre que voy de viaje y vemos "tapas restaurant" o "spanish food" las expectativas son bajas y no somos muy exigentes. Incluso toleramos la paella con chorizo! Sin embargo en este caso no es una cuestion de mala comida "española". Es una comida horrible, espantosa, terrible y barata (para ellos) carisima para ti. Si las personas de Cardiff quieren hacerse una idea de como es la comida española, lo peor que pueden hacer es comer en este establecimiento. Lo unico español es el mapita que tienen de decoracion. Si Santiago Apostol levantara la cabeza se volveria a morir pero de pena. Np vayan, ahorren su dinero y ahorrense una terrible deailusion.

I have eaten here on two separate occasions and both times have been disappointing. I love tapas and Spanish food but have found the food lacks flavour and is generally not very exciting. My partner has also been twice and said the same thing. The last time I visited the service was also poor. One of the dishes I ordered never arrived and when I asked about it I was given no apology and just asked if I wanted to reorder it, I decided not to bother as we had already eaten all our food. I wouldn't come again.

Table for 3 outside in the sun. Good service, good food, good atmosphere. Good selection of Tapas and a bottle of Pinot Grigio to wash it down.

Exquisite customer service, excellent food and an even better atmosphere. A great experience all round. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations

My boyfriend booked Santiago's on 30th Nov in Whitchurch for my birthday meal at 14:30 on the 6th December. When we arrived the staff were mopping the floors and said they were closed. When we explained that we had a reservation the bar man said he was sorry that we had not been informed. Due to current restrictions we could not find any other restaurant that had space left so we ended up just going home. I understand that things are difficult in the hospitality industry at the moment but the least we deserved was a phone call to let us know the reservation was cancelled. Extremely disappointed.

It’s a really cute little restaurant with lovely booth style tables. Super traditional with an open kitchen. The tapas is so authentic and absolutely delicious. Best I’ve ever had in this country (and in a few places in Spain). The portions are much bigger than regular tapas and everything is cooked fresh and comes to your table as it’s ready which I love. Great selection of drinks especially the Spanish beers on tap. The staff are lovely, very friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to go back

Finally managed to experience the tapas at Santiagos. Have tried to eat here for ages. Amazing food, great service and a fabulous atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and have to come back very soon.

So first off, I want to say the food we has nice. Rustic in appearance, traditional and tasty. But unfortunately for my visit this is where the good points end.I booked a table through their website for 16.30, when we arrived there were two very drunk gentlemen being obnoxious just outside. Turns out they were using the restaurant to drink in. We nearly didn't go in because of them.We sat down to eat and there were two young members of staff working. We sat down and ordered. As we were eating the two men were in and out of the restaurant every 5 minutes to smoke. On one of these occasions. One of the men stripped naked and was chasing women down the road. The staff were oblivious as the men were allowed back in the restaurant.I understand the restaurant can't choose who walks through the door. But when their behaviour becomes that bad, they should have been asked to leave. I feel sorry for the two guys working though, they were young and clearly a little apprehensive what to do.As we were nearing the end of our food, another couple entered. They were turned away as the restaurant was closing. I called the waiter over who confirmed the kitchen was shutting down. I was able to order dessert but that was it. No mention when booking that it was closing shortly after. I even went on their site again and was able to book for later that evening.Then another table, who had only just received their food. Were told they could not have another drink as the bar was closed. They protested and the staff got them another drink.We requested our bill and then had a shock as out cheese plate (which had no price on the menu) was £15. Only got 4 crackers and about £3 worth of cheese. I would have asked for this to be amended but the guys working both said they were new and unsure of the place. Then while we were waiting to pay, the chef went for a smoke in all their chefs clothes. Reading the reviews I'm sure this place can do a lot better, just not obviously the day we went. This place needs a manager on shift whenever it is open to avoid experienced like we have had.Oh the churros were good and the house wine tasty. Beware of the Bravas sauce it is rocket fuel.

Awesome selection of tapas and other foods , friendly , quick service and very well organised in the current climate -

We had booked to go ice skating then find food in the castle last night but opening was postponed so, after having a couple of vin chauds wandered across Castle Street in search of food. Santiago's had a table outside under an awning and, as soon as we sat, the waiter came out and while following all proper procedure in regards to Covid made us feel very welcome.Drinks came quickly and as I had already had my alcohol fill, had ordered warm water with lemon. It was served in a cup and saucer and halfway through the meal an extra pot of water came without request We all ordered from the Tapas menu and the recommendations were good. I had the meatballs and the chicken skewers which combined well to make a satisfying feed. The only thing I would say wasn't perfect was poor value for money in regards to the garlic bread as there were only two slices in the portion.Since the Covid regulations have been introduced and most places being app orientated and impersonal with very little "service" it was so lovely to have the attentive staff on hand who made it feel like a proper meal out.

After an afternoon walking around he city centre, we stopped at an outdoor seating area a few doors up from this place, after waiting over 15 minutes to be served we made our way across the street to Santiagos....WOW I'm glad we did. My partner and I have recently moved back from Madrid after 5 years and I have to say this restaurant is up there with the best Spanish food we have ever tasted. The waitress was so friendly and welcoming...and I even got the chance to use my Spanish Skills! The puntillas (fried baby squid) was amazing, we only found one place in Madrid that cooked these so well and Santiago's were perfect. A little bit of Spain in a quaint side street of Cardiff. The decor is very Spanish the furniture and layout was spot on... Even outside. They also have a great variety of Spanish drinks... If you enjoy something sweet I recommend a Liqor 43 with lots of ice. They adhered to all COVID regulations unlike most places, I cannot wait to come back and enjoy the food and service again! Thank you!

Food and service always excellent. I have been to Santiago's 3 times now and every time the food has been fantastic and served quickly. Highly recommend the patatas bravas and the garlic pil pil prawns! The COVID procedures were also very efficient Can't wait to come again.

Bueno, creo que el título lo resume para ser honesto. Desde el momento en que entramos por la puerta (un paseo) hasta el momento en que dejamos la comida, la bebida (Rioja) y el personal fueron absolutamente increíbles. Nunca habíamos probado tapas en Gran Bretaña, por lo que preguntamos sobre la cantidad de platos que deberíamos comer. El personal fácilmente podría habernos dicho más para hacer más. No lo hicieron, dijeron 5, compramos 6. . . adivina qué tenían razón y nos equivocamos.A menos que haya un partido de fútbol entre Cardiff y Carlisle en el corto plazo, no volveremos a Cardiff, pero créanme que si sucediera, no dudaríamos en asegurarnos de que este fuera el lugar donde tendríamos nuestra cena.

Church Street está repleto de atractivos restaurantes que sirven diferentes platos extranjeros, pero queríamos uno español que no fuera de cadena, y esto encajaba bien. Los platos estaban bien llenos y deliciosos, auténticas tapas de hecho. Solo que la tortilla no estuvo a la altura de las expectativas, era un poco pesada, pero la paella estaba para morirse; La próxima vez que vayamos probablemente pediremos una paella para todos. Excelente personal, excelente ambiente, ¿qué más se puede pedir? !

Apareció el domingo mientras visitaba a mi hija en Cardiff para la universidad. Agradable bienvenida en la puerta y rápido servicio por parte de los camareros. Elegimos 7 tapas para compartir los tres, un buen tamaño de porción que nos alimenta fácilmente a los tres. La comida era muy sabrosa y auténtica, los precios eran en nuestra opinión muy razonables para lo que recibimos.Definitivamente recomendaría santiagos a cualquiera.

En Cardiff durante un par de días, quería comer en un restaurante que no fuera de cadena y encontré este lugar. Personal muy amable y servicial. La comida es realmente razonable y excelente, tan buena como cualquier tapa que haya tenido. 5 tapas entre dos en abundancia, me encantó el ambiente relajado incluso en estos tiempos de Covid, mientras se cumplían todas las reglas. ¡La camarera incluso se disculpó profusamente cuando se dio cuenta de que nos había cobrado 20 centavos de más! ! ! Al parecer, tienen otro restaurante en Whitchurch, pero tengo que decir que si estás en la zona, vale la pena visitarlo.

I am a huge fan of tapas and Spain and can quite honestly say these are the most authentic tapas I have tasted, outside of Spain. Excellent service, reasonably priced and the food was delicious. I definitely recommend the croquetas and tortilla!

We have booked a table outside on a sunday afternoon. Shared 4 tapas between the 2 of us and cant complain at all. Beautiful food, atmosphere, service with reasonable prices. Will definitely return.

Vine aquí para visitar Cardiff, el ambiente era genial y nos dieron la opción de comer afuera o adentro eligiendo este último. El servicio fue muy rápido a pesar de que estaban ocupados para un martes por la noche, el personal era amable y todos llevaban máscaras que se podían ver desinfectando las manos en ocasiones regulares, lo cual es reconfortante. Pedimos una selección de tapas que estaban todas sabrosas, me gustaron especialmente las croquetas con jamón y queso y las brochetas de pollo. También tuvimos churros para budín que eran geniales. En general, los precios de una gran experiencia parecían razonables.

Comenzó de manera prometedora. Reservé una mesa, el personal de recepción era amable y muy atento. Bebidas ordenadas y comida rápida.Sin embargo, me sorprendió cuando la comida llegó literalmente en 5 minutos, por lo que seguramente no estaba recién cocinada. La comida estaba fría, insípida y bastante insípida. Comí un poco para darle una oportunidad, ya que era un comedor de tapas hambriento, pero todos igualmente decepcionantes.A pesar del amable personal que trató de ayudarnos, desafortunadamente la experiencia se vio empañada por la terrible comida, que es de lo que sé que a este restaurante le gustaría enorgullecerse.

Ate at Santiago's on a whim yesterday, was lucky enough to nab a table last minute. Service from our waitress was excellent and she made sure that the kitchen knew of my lactose intolerance. They have a very good menu, plenty of choices to be had at reasonable prices. We ordered 2 pints of Estrella, the meatballs, the chicken spewers, vegetable paella, paella of the day and a portion of garlic bread. We especially enjoyed the meatballs, they tasted amaaaazing! Really couldn't fault the rest of the food either and we would definitely go back again! (only reason I've given it a 4/5 is because another staff member wouldn't allow me to go to the toilet despite the fact I was eating there!!)

Took advantage of the new lockdown takeaway service on Friday 29 May. I ordered a selection of items from the tapas menu and a bottle of house red. Very tasty food, generous portions and the wine also very nice. Polite and efficient service, well done.

Me and my partner came here for food on a Thursday night, food was fantastic and the house white wine was lonely too! Will definitely return!

Tapas was beautiful, really full of flavour and great portion sizes at very reasonable prices. Team were accommodating and friendly. Would recommend to anyone who wanted a real Spanish food experience!

Visited with friends to celebrate a birthday. Service was excellent and a good choice of food. Tapas menu is just right and not overpowering like some tapas restaurant. Calamari is one of the best I have eaten. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked in advance and I would recommend booking a table as they were turning people away.

Visited for a friends 50th birthday, food was all very good, squid, patatas bravas, stew, tortilla in all a great selection of plates available to choose from Staff all friendly and helpful, small issue dealt with effectively and ambience just right for a Sat afternoon. Will return and would recommend this small but friendly restaurant.

Great quality tapas. They managed to get us a table for two after a small wait on a busy Friday night. No ham croquetas left so had to have mushroom ones instead but they were just as good! Nice red wine, good service.

Absolutely dreadful service at 4.30 pm , not even half full so no excuse ? Waited half an hour for a drink ? No San Miguel , food came in dribs and drabs , meatballs were served as 3 dried up ( looked like they had come off somebody’s left over plate ), no sauce ? And a pile of potatoes with them ? Uncertain as to if we had someone else’s order I took them to the bar ? After a lot of questioning I was told it was our meatballs order but they’d run out of meatballs ( 5pm on Valentine’s Day ) so basically instead of telling us that and offering something as replacement ? They chanced serving us that !!! Then our squid turned up ?? Not tempura batter !! And we dissected one piece to find a small vein of squid !! Shocking !! Skewers were lovely and dates in bacon , miraculously then a dish of meatballs in sauce turned up ?? My glass of water cane Luke warm no ice , no effort .Shocking service, unacceptable quality of food . Plenty of apologies ( when they realised we weren’t happy to put up with such an appalling experience ). They seemed pleased with themselves that they had deducted the meatballs and squid from our bill !! ? What a terrible experience . Also ? No complimentary olives / bread offered , though we had been told that it was standard in there ??

Went early evening, On anTuesday, having booked a few weeks previously. When we arrived they were placing the reserved signs out on tables and it looked as if most tables had been pre booked. We opted for tapas and ordered 3 plates each and there was more than enough food - in fact we couldn’t finish a few of the dishes. They were all delicious but my favourite was the paella. I recommend this place and would advise booking beforehand.

It was hard to choose from the menu ad so many nice dishes.

I’m biased as I’ve eaten here before with the wife.This time however we had to return with the kids.

Not been open too long but I've been lucky to go twice already. Once as a group of 12, once as a 4-some. Both times the food has been served promptly, tasty and well portioned/priced.

We're in Cardiff enjoying a day out with my family and to celebrate my birthday we wanted to have some home food and the result was amazing! We had a few starters (the croquetas are spot on!) and then we shared a stunning mixed paella for 2 which we all thought was better than some we have had in our country (Spain). The chef gave us some Ali Oli source he just finished cooking and again, it was a magnificent example of how good Spanish food can be cooked our country.

Visited last night with 20 plus friends. This was my first visit but now not my last. I found a huge ray of Spanish sunshine, warmth and hospitality on a cold winter Saturday. The proprietors and staff were so kind and friendly especially the waitress who realized my salad had onions, I have IBS and changed it before even serving it. Food and service great,a cosy atmosphere. Just loved it. Thank you to you all for a super night. Fran
