Santa Maria Pizzeria in Ealing

The chefs here are great examples of proper traditional and beautiful pizza making. My go-to pizza place was Franco Manca however now that I've found Santa Maria, it's one of the best pizzas I've tried. Sourdough base, crispy crust and delicious filling - my top pizza place recommendations in West London. The venue itself is very cosy, compact and gets busy in the evenings. We've been here on at least 3 occasions and we don't normally come this far West. The pizza is that good! It's tucked away just off Ealing Broadway, so it's very easy to find and the main multi-storey car park is a short 5 min walk. Win win in my opinion. 10 out of 10, well done to the guys and girls that make this place great.

A big thanks to the Team at Ealing. We do a monthly dinner at different venues and back in Feb we decided to check out Santa Maria in Ealing. We had a group booking and the team was great and we all enjoyed the food. The Pizza was amazing. Great dough, great taste. Do check it out.

Easiest the best Neapolitano pizza I’ve ever had in the UK! Also the meatballs are just so damn yummm! You definitely need to reserve a table on the weekend cos it gets very very busy. Staff were nice and service was great!

Edit: yes, hilarious reply. Franco Mancas may be a chain, but the cheese is not rubbery and separated from the base, and the toppings are not low quality deli meats slopped on like an afterthought. I can't say the same for this place. If the only thing you have going for you is that you aren't a chain, maybe try raising your standards and I don't know, caring about the food you make? Crazy, I know. -- More expensive and worse quality than Franco mancas. I don't really understand why anyone would go here when you can get much better pizza down the street. The cheese here pulled off like a piece of clay. Lots of sloppy toppings, quantity over quality. Sorry, just not good

It was such a delight to meet the team at Santa Maria and the food is exemplary and the pizza is the finest in the UK. You must come and meet the wonderful Johana who is absolutely lovely and provided the most amazing service! Grazie!!

I was full of expectations and unfortunately, pizza there were not good. The pizza base is nice but that’s all. The big problem in my opinion is ingredient used. Having ordered 2 pizza: 1 with mushroom & truffle oil and do serve canned mushroom!! hmmm sorry it’s a big NO! And 1 with mozzarella that has not melted so still big chunk. Not great taste. Lovely place and staff thought!

Great pizza as always and we visit quite often but I don’t recommend the desserts. No one checks in on you once you get the food (waited a long time to get chilli oil and to get pizza sliced). When my pizza was sliced, there were bits on there from someone else’s pizza (guessing from the cutter?) The caramel dessert arrived cold instead of hot/warm and when the staff reheated it, the centre was no longer runny but clumped!

I just pass review how you over charge gluten free pizza. Unacceptable! You can charge different prices for different pizza because of different ingredients. Your management accountant should be have all cost as direct ,indirect or overhead in final prize included any intolerance what you have to use for pizza. I see this as discrimination when you charge on top prize because is gluten free pizza. Build lasting relationship with customers is long journey but losing customers can be so fast.

I went few times by myself to get pizza. I wanted to take friends as I asked and they do have gluten free dough however, the gluten free pizza have an extra £3 charge over the pizza price. I find this disappointing and to be honest I think this extra charge is an act of discrimination against people suffering celiac allergy. I was embarrassed to when I realised that I took my friends to this place where basically they have to pay more for the same pizza. I think this is an issue that should be raised as it is an extra cost for these people to say the least.

I've revisited after three years because I remembered it being very good, but unfortunately, I was utterly disappointed with the food this time. I tried two starters and a pizza, and they all just didn't taste good at all. It was the worst Neapolitan pizza I had. Santa Maria branded drinks, however, were very nice. I asked the waiter if they're anything like San Pellegrino (as I thought of it, since it has the same selection of flavours) and she said 'yes, they're very similar' but in fact they were nothing like it - they were much better, tasted much more natural, like home made lemonades.

I’ve ordered from Santa Maria and dined jn. It’s one of the most over-rated pizzerias in London. There’s much better. But I’ll get to that. Santa Maria has done well with Time Out. So the restaurant is always busy. It’s cramped, and has little in the way of atmosphere. We ate there Friday night. Our server studiously ignored us for a while. We ordered a pizza and a cocktail each, and water for the table. The water never arrived. The Negroni (a cocktail I previously thought impossible to screw up) arrived flavourless and watered down. My partner’s pizza was missing a topping. So for an in- person experience, less than great. The pizzas themselves have a fresh base. Their tomato sauce is a big problem. It’s very fresh - lovely - but it hasn’t been reduced sufficiently. As such in the restaurant most pizzas bases are grey and sopping wet. And if you make the mistake of ordering take out - add the sloppy base to a delivery drivers moped at speed and it’s a recipe for a one sided pizza and sad wet grey dough experience. Again, I’ve had both. I don’t want to be too negative - the pizzas are “good”. But they’re not better than that. Locally, the likes of L’oro Di Napoli do what they do cheaper, fresher and better. And the jewel in the crown of west London pizza remains Da Moreno Pizza in Northfields - the base, sauce and toppings are all fresher and better. But they didn’t have a fancy PR agency or logo to attract Time Out. So take your chances, I guess. Edit: The reply here is so disappointing. I'm a customer, reporting my experience. No attempt to address the issues, just nit-picking over an incorrect assumption. I think that says plenty, personally.

I was here Yesterday and was not the First Time... Also not the First Time web served from Johanna and She Is Always top level of customer service. It's nice tò feel likes home.

Took my mum here for some lunch food was lovely and had a wonderful experience thanks to a waitress by the name of johana that was extremely polite and helpful which made the experience just that much more 5 stars all around from me

Wow How overrated. Timeout apparently thinks this is the best pizza in london. So far off the mark. Seated in the back in the cold shed annex thing which has the poorest acoustics meaning every conversation around you is broadcast loud. The restaurant was only half empty so it wasn’t like a lot of people were in there. Fair enough what about the pizza…. Overly salty, overly cheesy (why is Parmesan literally dumped on this pizza to the max) no balance of flavours all overpowered by Parmesan. Waiter asked if food was ok then walked off without bothering to wait for an answer. Probably marched off to escape the cold shed area that we had to endure. Couldn’t wait to get out and find somewhere warm. Won’t bother going again. Avoid.

If you want reasonably priced, authentic Italian pizza near Ealing - this should be your go to. It's never done me wrong & the place really gives off an Italian Pizzeria vibe with the friendly staff, Italian music and pizza oven.

Some long haired manager turned me away because we had no booking. I’ve been eating at this shop since its original shop in st Mary’s road. Never booked. Since 2016 when I moved to ealing. Funnily some of the staff are well known to me. There was a free table and we got turned away because the man said someone booked it. Which was a lie. As a business owner in the Ealing myself and always thriving to support local. I’m not returning to this restaurant again. I hope the owner reads this and realises that unqualified staff don’t always bring good business.

Hicimos una reserva a través de la web. La sorpresa fue que al llegar nos la habían anulado porque necesitaban la mesa. Si que es cierto que la persona que nos atendió nos ofreció un descuento para la próxima vez que fuéramos pero era nuestro último día en Londres y nos pareció un gesto muy feo.

Santa Maria has become a favourite for me and somewhere my wife can get the same quality she finds at home in Italy. Great pizzas and friendly and efficient service from Johana. Will be back soon

Definitely the best pizza I never had in my life, and the French waiter was absolutely great with us and took extra care of us ,simply amazing place and incredible staff.

Such good pizza. Plus the staff are so good know the menu well and v helpful, esp with my young son - think waitress was Joana and went the extra mile making dinner extra special for him - cheers :)

Would advise to book as it can get very busy. Food was great and you could tell it was freshly prepared. Service was awesome and all staff were very friendly and polite. They were also very accommodating. The restaurant has a nice ambience and a lively and welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely visit again and would recommend to my friends and family.

Johanna is lovely, extra helpful with great attitude. Matteo is a good chef, always goes out of his way to prepare sthin extra special.

Pizza is great and I wish there was just a bit more choice in terms of toppings (e.g. gorgonzola, spicy salami). What stood out to me on this visit is the pistachio desert which was something really tasty, better than the Tiramisu or the Pan di Stele which I had on previous occasions. Service was friendly and very quick so many thanks to Bedir and his lady colleague waiting the tables! The restaurant was almost empty at the time of my visit, on a Saturday at around lunch time so the big space was cold, that being the only downside of the overall experience. All in all, a great place to eat Neapolitan pizza in Ealing with very quick service and friendly staff.

Santa Maria is by far the best place to get pizza in Ealing. The pizza is delicious and they have lots of great meat and veggie options to choose from. I'd recommend the aubergine starter too. Cosy restaurant, and friendly staff. Badir our host was excellent. Lemoncello to finish 👌

Decent napolitane pizza if I forget about that the burrata on top was like my grandma hands, chilli oil made of padrone peppers and no vibes(has a Tuesday night tho), except that all decent. :)

We always recommend Santa Maria pizza to our guests. It has to be the best pizza in London. I have been eating there since I first moved to Ealing in 2009 and it never fails to deliver. Now, we have a serviced apartment in West Ealing and we always send our guests to Santa Maria. And they are always super please with the recommendations! P.s. the tiramisu to die for!

The food at this establishment is worth the visit. The service is probably why it will be a one hit wonder. The servers spent more time talking amongst themselves then actually providing service. My table asked for a bottle of still water twice. After 20 minutes and our meals halfway done I physically had to get up for my seat and ask for the water. To make matters worse they added a 12.5% service charge. I really didnt want to but felt pressured that it was the nice thing to do. But the service was crappy.

What a lovely restaurant dined there with friends food was amazing .pizza was perfect as was the goat cheese salad. Server's were very polite. Loved it, will definitely go again.

Nothing spectacular, pizza is on the heavier side, imo dough has to be more airy and lighter.

Very nice pizza. The dining room is a bit awkward. I understand that it's a business and they're trying to make the most out of it, but I was practically rubbing elbows with the person on the table next to me. You can lose a table guys, your product is still very nice. UPDATE Since moving, the food standards have remained high but the awkward seating is gone. Plenty of space in this new building

A pizza é diferente da que encontramos nas boas Pizzarias do Brasil, mas gostamos muito. A massa muito boa, o recheios é que diferem sem perder no sabor. Atendimento foi cordeal e rápido, nota 10. Único problema, que não é só deste local, a cerveja não vem gelada...

Horrible place!!! I took my family here as my brother was down from Manchester. As soon as we arrived we could feel the atmosphere and it was very uncomfortable. The waitress who seated us was rude, she rolled her eyes when asked a question then slammed our drinks down on the table. When deciding on what to eat four different waiters came over in a space of 30 mins asking if we had decided. Then during our meal one particular waitress kept walking passed looking at our table, pouncing at any given opportunity to take the plates making us feel uncomfortable as if we had to hurry and leave. It wasn’t busy at all and the fact that she kept coming over and looking while we were eating was actually very distracting. Awful food, the pizza was soggy and very oily. All in all the experience was horrible and I will never return.

Neapolitan style pizza, thin base and good tomato flavour. The garlic mayo dip paired with the pizza was so good. Toppings were a bit bland and could have more flavour packed into each one, and the toppings were not evenly spread on the pizza but overall nice! I found it a bit too thin which made it floppy and a bit annoying to eat but thats just personal preference! However the tiramisu was absolutely amazing. Best I’ve had (and I’ve had some in Rome) and will go back just for that!

Absolutely love the restaurant in Ealing Broadway. Utterly delicious food, massive portions and definitely cheaper than any pizza chain restaurants. The staff create amazing atmosphere and are very attentive. I’d recommend popping in if you’re after true Italian experience. I had already been stuffed after having a starter before my pizza even arrived.

The service and atmosphere here is good. However the pizza was a bit worse than average. Sorry for bad review but the restaurant really needs to improve how they cook and to work on their menu, to offer other meals apart from pizza if its classed as Italian restaurant

Santa Maria is an authentic Italian pizzeria. The Nduja is amazing. Lovely crust to the pizzas and not heavy at all. Fantastic small menu. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately the Santa Maria aren’t taking the time to cook their pizzas! We had two delivered to us soggy and cold and this hasn’t the first time.

Great tasting Pizzas. Freshly cooked to order. Definitely using fresh ingredients, superb bases with great texture. Not dry or doughy. I will be returning again! 😃😃😃
