Our sirloin steaks were very beautiful and tender to eat. Our waiter Liam was very attentive and gave us top tier service. Will come again!!

Great and very good value Argentinian food

I don't have a picture of the lovely empanadas we had as a starter, as we were hungry and finished them as soon as they arrived (I highly recommend the spinach one). We went for the lunch deal, our first time dining at this restaurant and had an amazing time. The steak was perfectly cooked, the service was great and the atmosphere was nice. We will definitely be back, to try other dishes.

Amazing friendly service, tasty food and one of my favourite lunchtime spots in Battersea. Great lunchtime £10 deal for steak and chips- you can’t go wrong!! Empanadas are also delicious!

Booked a table of 5 here for my wife's birthday, and the staff were the most hospitable people and the food was to die for. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and their chimichurri sauce was the best I've had in london. The arepas were also standout 👌 Special thanks to Liam who took great care of us.

We had a family birthday last night and the whole team looked after us so well, I can't thank everyone enough. Every dish was excellent. It was a momentous night for us, and we couldn't have found a better place for it. Thank you for your patience and kindness.

Delicious Argentinian food, and top-notch service. We've been visiting Santa Maria del Sur since it first opened and they continue to impress us. From booking through a to paying, a great and personalised customer service experience all round. We only had one small issue which was a couple of steaks ordered medium well that were quite raw inside; this was quickly rectified by the kitchen. Staff were patient with our large group and kept us topped up with tap water which was an excellent touch. Great atmosphere, authentic and varied menu. We hope to return soon!

Wow! What great service came as a group and I just felt at home. Firstly the waiter was great had performed great customer service as us as a group agreed on. I will recommend coming here as food is stunning service is amazing and I left with a smile on my face, and the waiter was very funny which is hard to come by these days! Good variety of Argentinian wines, Luigi bosca being the highlight! I loved the steak, I got a ribeye twister which was amazing, cooked in a perfect medium rare.

Tasty food but small portions. Milanesa was also underwhelming. Expected a bit more from the price.

What can I say. This is the restaurant everybody says they’ve wanted to go to but never quite got round to it. I now wish I had gone sooner. Some of the best steak I’ve had in London. Delicious, perfectly cooked steaks, scintillating sides, and excellent atmosphere and service. Goni was charming, warm, helpful but not pushy with the service, and an all round fantastic host. The wine was fairly priced and very good. Can’t recommend enough.

Pepper stake was watered didn’t even taste anything, eventually the manager noticed and put things right quickly but he than forgot to give me knife and fork to eat my stake 🥹 i would have staff meeting and advise them not to laugh at the back when costumers eat oh and when beer is served I’d pour it for the client not a glass above the beer and help your self

Ensalada, patatas fritas y espinacas cremosas eran acompañamientos perfectos y las porciones adecuadas para 2. Empanada era suave y la cantidad justa de carne picada. Malbec por copa combinó bien con la carne.Buena mezcla de clientes. Por la forma en que están distribuidas las tablas, puede pensar que está bastante cerca de otros clientes, pero funciona. Usted puede tener comidas en pareja o una noche de bistec de chicos aquí, cenar en camisa y jeans o con sudadera y joggers.Terminé con un espresso que fue una mala idea ya que escribo esto a las 2. 30 am como no puedo dormir.El chef asador ruso definitivamente sabe lo que está haciendo. Este lugar tiene mucho que ofrecer; los filetes (aunque caros) son los mejores que he comido en Londres, y los cócteles 2 por 1 todos los días son una excusa para ir solos (de hecho, mi novia y yo solemos pasar solo para la hora feliz), pero lo mejor de Santa María del Sur es el personal. Los camareros son amables, informados, encantadores, divertidos y simplemente no pueden hacer más por ti. Juan, en particular, siempre nos hace sentir tan como en casa que a menudo perdemos la noción del tiempo por completo porque estamos tan relajados y simplemente disfrutando. Definitivamente lo recomendaría.

Hicimos un viaje de casi 2 horas para cenar y valió la pena cada segundo. Esta es nuestra segunda visita a este restaurante y la segunda visita fue incluso más sorprendente que la calle 1. Compartimos una parrillada mixta de lujo con algunos lados deliciosos. ¡La calidad del bistec es excepcional y está cocinada a la perfección! ! Los cócteles y cafés también son encantadores! ! El camarero no podría habernos atendido mejor y realmente hizo que nuestra visita fuera especial con un postre de cumpleaños gratuito y un Prosecco de bienvenida. ¡De lejos, el mejor restaurante de carnes en Londres! !

Vine con un amigo y conseguí los 600 gramos de bife argentino (surtido de cortes). El bistec estaba delicioso, bien cocinado y venía con queso provolone derretido encantador que era muy agradable para mojar el bistec. El camarero también recomendó amablemente salsa chimichuri para el bistec, que era gratis y salió muy bien. El lado de la batata no era nada especial. Bastante caro, pero ¿qué esperas de un bistec en Londres? Los camareros eran bastante amables y eficientes. Recomendar

No puedo quejarme del servicio. Fuimos un miércoles por la noche aprovechando el programa Eat Out to Help Out. A pesar de estar ocupado, el personal de servicio fue atento y amable. Sin embargo, la comida fue un poco decepcionante, lo cual es una verdadera lástima, ya que nos recomendaron este lugar durante años. El entrante de sardinas era un solo filete frío, masticable. Los filetes estaban bien, pero simplemente "bien", y los lados (batatas y crema de espinacas) estaban un poco insípidos. Por el precio (incluso con el descuento), espero ser lírico con mi bistec, pero no fue así. Ciertamente no estuvo mal, pero no sé de qué se trata tanto alboroto, ¡con suerte solo una mala noche!

Comimos empanadas que estaban absolutamente deliciosas, seguidas de bistec, patatas fritas y verduras a la parrilla, ¡también de primera calidad y deliciosas! Si eres un amante de la tarta de queso, te sugerimos el tradicional dulce de leche. Definitivamente recomendamos este lugar y volveremos con amigos.

I went here as one of my first ports of call since restaurants were allowed to reopen and it didn't disappoint. Fantastic steak, as always, but there were some varied starters and all the ones we chose were delicious - even the sweetbreads which would not normally be tried by the family. Service and staff were excellent, as was the wine of the month. Well worth the tip.

Came here for the first time this evening with my parents and we had an amazing experience. The staff are so friendly and service is outstanding. First meal out since lockdown. A few of our usual places weren't yet open and Santa Maria looked like good place.Juan made us feel super welcomed from the start, even though we had an early booking (and so the restaurant was quiet at 630pm) but the atmos was good and we had 2 for 1 cocktails.All 3 starters were just perfection. Incredible juicy but not overpowering Chorizo, delicate cheese parcel in filo pasty, and some powerful melted provolone and crisp breads. The steaks didn't disappoint and after Juans recommendation I had the best Ribeye I think eve ever had. Perfectly cooked and the fat just melted in the mouth. My GFs fillet was stunning as well. Argentine touches like the chimi-churri really made it as well!Overall this meal really opened our eyes to how good Steak can be, especially from a an independent place. Will 100% return soon! Vert good food and very good service informal but very kind and Helpful to thé needs of customers. The right place for those Who love to est meat. Price in line with those of London.

A great find. We visited as a family - 3 adults and 1 child (aged 2), we were welcomed and accommodated with no issue, high chair available. Small kids menu with burger, mac and cheese, chicken strips. A lovely choice of mains and sharing platters also - meat of course - the meat was all fresh and well cooked - my steak was slightly over what I wanted but not enough to raise an issue. We also tried some of the empanadas which were really lovely. Drinks are quite pricey - this was the only real fault! Would definitely recommend!

We went with a big group of friends and kids and had a great dinner. Food as superb as ever. The meat is top quality. And good options for vegetarians. The service was amazing with Tomas managing very well all the orders of a big group. Highly recommended!

Went here with my girlfriend after walking past on many occasions.We were sat down and given menus, albeit in a corner, but this does not explain the service.25 mins later waitress came with a bottle of wine which we hadn't ordered. Told her we were still waiting to order - no apology. Order taken.Bottle of wine which eventually came was not what we ordered.Starters followed on cold plates.Starter plates were not cleared for 20 minutes until main courses arrived. Sides arrived a few minutes later.Throughout the whole meal no-one came to check if things were alright with our food.At end of meal plates were once again left on the table for a long time again. Had to get up to pay for meal at the bar as no staff member came to the table.I explained to the waiter at the bar paying I wasn't prepared to pay for the service charge as there was basically no service for the entire meal.The waiter was apologetic and knocked off the service and said there was an absent staff member so were overstretched. I've been a waiter myself and this is not really an excuse to abandon customers who are paying £80 (excluding service charge) for a two course meal and bottle of wine.A shame because I had high expectations which were not fulfilled.

Celebramos el cumpleaños de mi hijo aquí esta semana. Quería un filete y este es ciertamente el lugar para un buen filete argentino con una selección de pesos y cortes disponibles, todos cocinados de la manera que prefiera. Hay algunos otros alimentos principales que incluyen un plato de pescado y un par de opciones veganas, pero este es principalmente un restaurante de carne. Si no está acostumbrado a los restaurantes españoles o sudamericanos, puede encontrar algunos de los entrantes un poco extraños porque nada más viene con el budín negro, el chorizo, etc., pero la idea es pedir una selección para compartir con sus compañeros comensales.

Un chef de aspecto abierto muestra altos estándares y también higiene. Super amable servicio amable de Umd, como te gusta dar propina.

Made a spontaneous visit here on Friday night and was pleased to see plenty of free tables but a nice friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The staff were really welcoming and attentive and the steaks were perfect. For two of us with a starter and main each, a shared dessert and four drinks, we paid £120 which was very reasonable. Would definitely go again.

Had ribeye steak and kid ribs with a few cocktails. The cocktails were so delicious they absolutely knocked my socks off and the complimentary shot of liqueur you get at the end blew me away. The steak was cooked to perfection, very soft and tender and very easy to cut, just the way I like it- the garlic butter compliments the melt in the mouth taste. The only complaint I’d have is that for £48 you get three small kid ribs with your dish that were extremely salty and fatty. If I were these guys I’d put more ribs on the plate for £48 and maybe tone down on the dry rub a bit. Overall, delicious.

Having just moved to the area I decided to take my parents to this restaurant. Delicious steak, welcoming staff, not too expensive. Would definitely visit again!

We used to go to Santa Maria del Sur a few years ago, pre kids, so as it was my husband's birthday we got a babysitter and revisited. As always the food was fab, and the service was excellent! On arrival the waitress asked if it was a special occasion and I embarrassed my husband by saying it was :-) Due to a change in the weather the restaurant was a little chilly but the manager fully responded to my request for the air con to be turned down a little and checked back a couple of times to make sure I was OK, even though the restaurant was quite busy with plenty of other diners. We had the delicious mixed grill and were so full afterwards we decided to skip dessert. However a few mins later the waitresses brought over a complimentary creme caramel with a birthday candle and sang Happy Birthday! And most importantly, brought 2 spoons, we had to eat dessert after all that and it was definitely worth it. It was all so lovely and unexpected and really made an already great night. Thank you, we don't get many nights out these days so when we do it's a big deal when the service and food is this fabulous.

Selected the restaurant on location (close to our hotel) and found that it was a superb choice. Both the service and the food was excellent! I had the beef, which was very tender and flavorful. But the high point of the visit was the great service. The staff is very concerned about making your dining experience wonderful, and we certainly felt well taken care of. This would be a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion, such as a birthday or an anniversary.

Prices all seemed reasonable. BUT! (you knew that was coming) the steak was all wrong. The chefs’s had a shocker. Ordered rare and what came out was blue. Had the mixed grill, fillet steak amazing, black pudding good but needs better seasoning, sausages really really good, by time got to the ribeye it went from rare to well done on the table grill - maybe concept needs rethinking.

We have reduced our meat intake tremendously compared to few years ago however when we are bith meat lovers and when we have some it has got to be top quality and sustainable. That is exactly what Santa Maria del sur deliveres. Top quality beef, cooked to perfection the Argentinian way without fuss just flavour! Thank you it was amazing to come by again!! we Nice team too, we will come back defo sooner!!!

Esta fue mi 4ª visita y la calle 1 de mi esposa. Estábamos visitando Londres por su 40 y quería llevarla a un lugar especial. No me decepcionó (otra vez) el plato de sardinas que tenía era encantador y la ensalada de tomate y mozzarella de mi esposa era fresca y ligera. Para la mayoría tenía la costilla que, como el solomillo de mi esposa, estaba cocinado a la perfección. Todo regado con una botella de casa roja. En general, un comienzo perfecto para la noche.

Tan impresionado por este lugar, tan bueno como todos los comentarios si no mejor! La comida era excelente y una gran selección de vinos! En particular, recomendaría el pastel de queso Dulce de leche! El servicio fue fantástico, muy atento y amable! Un poco en el lado más caro de las cosas, pero definitivamente obtienes la calidad que pagas y el buen tamaño de las porciones. ¡No faltaría nada definitivamente volverá!

Que dire de cette endroit à part que tout était parfait ! Le cadre est sympa et nous avons été très bien reçu. Quant à la nourriture .... un délice ! La viande est d’une Grande qualité ( meme les morceaux les moins chère !) les sauces proposées sont juste divines... et un grand choix d’accompagnement originaux et excellent ! Même les végétariens trouveront leur bonheur dans Ce restaurant grâce aux nombreux accompagnements à la carte ( qui sont à prendre en plus lorsqu’on prend une pièce de viande car elle est vendue « seule »)

Took some friends here for a pre-Christmas celebration and had a great time - this is one of our 'repeater' restaurants because the food is so simple but perfectly done. The bife de lomo is my favourite and the cooking is spot-on each time. Good list of Malbecs at good prices. Warm and friendly people working there but on this occasion the service was slow and muddled and I think perhaps it was a language thing. Water forgotten. Wine slow to come. Not the end of the world but not great either. If you can save some room after the wonderful steak for a dessert - go for the Torta de banana con dulce de leche ---- we've never tried another dessert as we are hung up on this one!

As an Argie expat living in Britain I’ve heard of this restaurant a lot but never had the chance of visiting it until now, can honestly say that I’ve been pleasantly surprised by it!

Went for the Deluxe meal for 2 and it was gorgeous. Delivered on a hot plate we could decide how cooked we wanted it by leaving on there or tucking straight in.

A friend of mine is steak mad so we decided to meet and of course Argentina is well known for good steak. It's a little walk from the station, but was well worth it. Empanadas and Cheese starters were both decent, but that was just a lead up to what were very good quality, well cooked steaks. A little too much juice came out, but other than that was perfect. The sauce to go with it was nothing special, but so I was told, a good steak needs no sauce. Alcohol choice was decent and being able to order a litre of beer is nothing to be sniffed at :). Just a shame it was let down by the duche de leche cheesecake; wrong proportioned and not well done unfortunately. Next time we go will definitely stop at the mains. Considering a second trip as finding a good steak is not so easy these days.

Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary we receiv d perfect attention and service from Julian. The meal was perfect as well - bife de chorizo and churrasco. Just as if we were in Buenos Aires. Gracias Santa María del Sur.

Like the set up here. Requires a bit of effort to get there even when the new northern line station is up and running. Better than your Black & Blues but not quite Hawksmoor. It’s pricing is about right. Staff have always been good. They do a great value lunch menu.

Despues de varias recomendaciones de amigos decidi probar esta restaurante, era una ocasion especial, mi mujer hacia 40 años. Fuimos con varios amigos y quisimos probar un poco de todo. De primero escogimos la variedad de empanadas las quales salieron todas frias y de segundo compartimos un par de parrilladas. La carne no solo estaba pasadisima de coccion sino que ademas olia mal. Eso respecto a la comida.

This place is a real gem - menu isn’t huge, but the food is fantastic, surroundings authentic and service exemplary. We had the selection of small plates for starters which came quickly and piping hot. Presentation was good and flavours strong. My son and I shared a steak, sausage and black pudding main course with a couple of side dishes. Perfectly cooked, generous proportions and full of flavour! Just about squeezed in a couple of amazing desserts too! Recommended!

We have been here before a number of times, but as the menu has changed we thought we would give her a another try. My only complaint is that the wine list is a little restricted, but I managed to choose something delicious so that was ok. Two of us had the fried chicken empenadas for a starter and they were fantastic. We have had the parilladas for main course in the past but didn't go for that this time (old age) and mostly had sirloin steak which was excellent. We had lots of side dishes to go with the steak and they were all excellent, with the sweet potato wedges extra great. My only other complaint would be that if the restaurant was full the tables are too close together but on a Wednesday dinner time we could spread out a bit.

We were in London for a few days and I picked this restaurant for my girlfriend's birthday. The staff was very welcoming and we had a good chat with them. The food was amazing with nice Empanadas for starters and a perfectly juicy steak as main. The friendly staff even served us a complimentary birthday dessert and Limoncelli while waiting for the taxi. I highly recommend this authentic restaurant.
