Sanjha Indian Restaurant in Ballymena

Had a very pleasant dining experience with the work colleagues last week in the Sanjha Indian restaurant. Staff couldn't do enough for you and a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Clean, delicious food and great craic with friends. Will definitely be back.

As a family we have dined in and taken take season numerous occass ions and always without fail been extremely satisfied with the quality of food, attention to the customer and lovely atmosphere. This restaurant is the best in Co. Antrim if not N. Ireland. And not to be beaten in Dublin or Galway in our experience. Thanks for your lovely meals and please continue as you are doing everything so well.

Monday teatime. Very quite and little atmosphere. Food very good with free poppadoms and chutneys.

Had a delivery tonight I’ve tried ringing multiple times to no avail needless to say I won’t be ordering from here again almost 8 quid for two prawns is a bit far fetched

Got a delivery tonight. Everything about it was absolutely disgusting. The only positive thing i could say was the poppadoms werent awful

First time ever disappointed, went today and waiter got our entire order wrong twice and three people took our order unbelievable and waited for rice for a long time and COLD rice was served and this could have been a case of food poisoning as there were children with us. And when paying they charged us with popadoms we never ate. Ruined our evening ! VERY DISAPPOINTED ☹️

Absolutely disappointed we went there to celebrate new year's eve with family and friend The person served us curry without rice by the time rice came curry was cold and we got served cold rice wen we told waiter no apology was made by him instead he stormed off Owner or manager didn't even apologised to us instead give us a bill with stuff we didn't even got we felt so discrimination he was treating other customers with us he was so cold and no apologetic at all .we left place just because we didn't want to ruine others new year's eve but this restaurant is a shame no way treating customers like this stay well away from this place we'll never be back there you ruined our night

Visited Sanjha after some time and it was worthy. Tasty food, pleasant atmosphere and good service. Prices was slightly higher but reasonable.

This place is absolutely frigging awesome 👌 the only Indian in the whole of the wider Ballymena / Antrim / Newtownabbey area that I even consider. Immaculately clean and with the friendliness of a local shop.

Amazing and authentic food! I was craving for a real Indian Biryani all the way out in Antrim cost, this was 35 mins drive but went in anyway. Amazing food and the service assistant at the till was also helpful in confirming it’s halal and also very nice. The biryani was authentic and had fried onions and coriander etc unlike some fake ones around :)

This was my first time to eat from Sanjha restaurant, I ordered a chicken vindaloo, pillar rice and garlic naan. Along with my order they added 4 poppadoms and 2 tubes off sauce 1 mint and 1other. The food was excellent and I would recommend this Indian restaurant, I will be going back and hope to have a sit down meal. I have been back for a sit down meal with my family, and we were not disappointed. The staff are friendly efficient and have a very good and knowledge of the food on the menu and will recommend what to eat if you are not sure. Kumar the owner is usually there and very helpful.

25 minutes late after telling us it was ready to collect, tiny portions, tough meat, sauce pots not labelled so not sure what we were eating, abysmal. 75 quid for 3 mains and some sides, would not order again.

Worst takeaway I've ever had, extremely poor value for money, small portion sizes, badly labelled, overcooked dry lamb, and collection time 25 minutes over advised time. Will never again purchase from this restaurant

Banging food. If you’ve got more of an authentic palette then beware of how sugary the curries are, especially butter chicken. Some interesting items on the menu like mushroom puri. The dum biryani is a must try. Good interiors and clean.

Restaurant was quite busy but there was just one member of staff waiting on tables. She did her best but really needed help. Most Indian restaurants we've been to (including the other one in town) provide complimentary poppadoms but Sanjha do not. A bit mean, particularly as we discovered after leaving the restaurant we'd been overcharged by £4. The food was OK but portions were small. Overall would not go back.

Really unimpressed.. Went here as it was recommended. Biyrani was like eating mint and cinnamon defo. I never tasted one like this in my life seasoned, completely incorrect. The rogan josh tasted like lamb pieces in tomato soup. The sides were nice though the rice and Nan

Had a 2hr wait on food, the service was terrible some people had their meal nearly finished before others were served. Expensive for what it was six pieces of meat swimming in some soup.

The food was yummy. Best Indian food I’ve had in northern island. The staff and the service was the best. Love it🙂🙂

Good food let down by poor staff and organisation. Waited 10 minutes without seeing any staff. Had to walk INTO the kitchens to make sure they were open and ask to be seated. Ordered a jug of water got a glass. Went to the bar to ask for a jug but the person behind the bar "didn't work there" but got me a jug anyway.... Ordered the kids meal first and asked for it to come out first to keep the kids happy. Arrived after adults. No chicken tikka which to me is a staple for an Indian restaurant. Poppadoms arrived without onions notwithstanding I asked to make sure onions were with it as it's on the menu and we had same issues before. Kids masala arrived with chips notwithstanding we ordered rice. Was told by staff kids meals all come with chips and I confirmed that we were regulars and their kids menu has the option of rice or chips. Wife's onion bahjee starter came with 1 bahjee and 1 spring roll instead of two bahjees... Ordered two naans and they kept the burnt one underneath. Had to ask for a plate for my wife when they arrived without one.... Had to take cutlery from table next to me when they didn't give another knife and fork after the starter. Had I not been before I wouldn't be back....saving grace was...and always is...the young redhead waitress who is constantly working and checking on the table. Good with kids too. Staff need a shake.

Went in to order a takeaway at the beginning of the week, I ordered 2 saag aloo/Dhab with 2 naan bread, the saag had no potatoes, no cheese & no spinach. Only had chick peas & some dodgy sauce. It was disgusting & even the nasn bread was burnt. Definitely won't be back.

Ridiculously over priced.... The food portions were extremely less. The quality of food was average. Food was served after one and half hours 🙃🙃🙃🙃 Difficult to find parking at peak hours

Had meal for four, food was nice, staff were pleasant but portions were very disappointing.. 6 small cubes of meat in a curry, basically all sauce, not nearly worth the cost. Obviously places are trying to cut back on the expensive items.

Ordered a delivery, worth £40 at 5pm, I was told it would take 50 minutes to be delivered. After waiting for almost 2hours, I phoned back and was told the order had left the restaurant. After another 1/2 hour, I phoned again to which I was told they would contact the delivery driver and call me back. I never got a call back so after a further 20/25 minutes, it had still not arrived so I phoned again and the owner answered and told me the delivery driver got lost but was again, on his way. It left me wondering, had he no phone to call or was he driving a car from the 70’s, with no sat nav! I asked about the food being warm, and he told me the order had been re made. I waited another 30 minutes and tried calling the restaurant again, their phone has now been engaged for another 50 minutes so I can only guess, it’s off the hook. As for the delivery, which I ordered now, almost 4 hours ago, and assurances from staff, and the owner, it’s still not here! I cannot recommend this restaurant and definitely, do NOT order a delivery. This has been very disappointing and very unprofessional and I definitely would never use this quite expensive restaurant again.

In for a lovely meal tonight, staff so welcoming and friendly and the food was amazing! Partner had lamb 65 to start and will be back to get it as a main! Would highly recommend :)

Had the tastiest curry here that I have ever had, and I've had a few. The food here's absolutely top notch with service to match, all the staff are friendly and courteous.

I got a vegtarian taleaway that had no freah vegetables. A handful of frozen veg of peas carrots and sweetcorn is not good enough for a vegetarian dish!! Laziness on the chefs behalf. I would not reccomend when I complained they agreed it was frozen veg. Dont waste your money. Extremely dissappointing

Food awfully cold and not nice. Soggy nan bread. Place a bit smelly inside need air conditioning. Chicken was hard and over cooked it wasnt nice. And lamb was cheap lamb steak cut up. Was rubbery. Disgusting won't be back. Good for people on a tight budget.

Couldn't fault it, the food was beautiful, really tasty, good portion size, the service was excellent, young lady, very attentive. Looking forward to my return visit.

9 times out of 10 the food delivery is wrong, even if you tell them to repeat the order to confirm at the end of the call! Either they forget part of the order, or give the wrong item. In previous orders I had to call back as they only put 2 paneer cheese in a paneer curry. Once there was no paneer cheese in the paneer curry!! They don't give anything for the constant inconvenience caused or the waiting of additional time for them to redeliver. (Annoying when your hunger lol) When I called the manager he said "what do you want me to do we will send it out again". Then started to say "we made this as a special order and off the menu, we aren't going to do it anymore as it's always wrong". If they can't deliver the correct items don't agree to take the order in the first place!! Im still a paying customer! He then started to say "we will give you free poppadoms" that they didn't initially send. I told them they usually come with the orders, he then stated that I knew about gas and electricity prices going up. I remember one time the food nearly took over 2 hours to come, within Ballymena. So disappointed with the service

Beautiful food, large size restaurant and feels very comfortable. Staff friendly and menu great. I had Vegetable Jalfrezi and it was really really beautiful. Highly recommended.

Two adult Early Bird meals inc. butter chicken and a monkfish korma & a kids meal. Importantly son really liked his and Mrs enjoyed both mains, not being a usual fan of Indian food....we may have a convert! Excellent quality, service and price.

It’s hard to find a decent Indian in the area, The beef korma is to die for. Only let down is the portions are on the small side, I find myself having to order 2 meals sometimes But otherwise great job

Having recently moved home from England, this is our first chance to try Sanjha. We were not disappiinted! The tastiest Indian food we have ever had. Excellent service from friendly staff, spotless restaurant and well spaced out dining. We can't wait to get back.

Wow!. Took a chance on eschewing the hotel food for a bit of the spice of life.Ballamena? Not exactly the well known home of great Indian food - who would have guessed.Dishes (largish portions, with attention to plating - nice touch) generated from great spices. Rarely have I experienced such culinary skill. Service was excellent, everyone trying to improve the experience.All in all 5 stars.

Just returned home after having a fabulous meal ,as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and so glad we went here.Staff were so friendly and kind ..A big thanks to the manager who made our day, .we shall be back

The food was very tasty and the staff were great, however, we were charged £3.80 for poppadoms that were brought to the table that we hadn't ordered. I have been in several Indian Restaurants around NI and every time the poppadoms have been complementary. I don't mind paying, as long as I know I will have to do this beforehand.

Delish just a treat needed for mothers day

Food here was decent, but it was extremely expensive. Takeaway for dining-in prices. For two people we paid about 27 quid.

Hard to beat Sanjha for food or service. Fresh, good quality produce. Cant fault it. I recommend the Karahi, Rogan Josh, Tikka Massala and Balti. Sides are always very good.

By a long mile the best curry house in ballymena, by far the best pickles I've tasted in a long time. I moved here from England and was blessed with great Indian restaurants,then moved here and found not so great, until tonight! Will be going back back back.

Had our usual take away from sanjha and must say it gets better every time we get it. Food was piping hot and fresh, top class service yet again from sanjha.

I absolutely love this place! I come all the way in from Miami to get my food. When I come in there very friendly and pretty much know what I'm there to order. They make you feel at home and the food is great!!!

Really good food and the service was excellent

This Indian is one of my Wife and I's favourite in the British Isles, Food is always flavourful, plentiful and fresh. Heat levels are good the owner is pleasant and engaging. staff are also always nice but there seems to be a high turnover for whatever reason. in my opinion this would be the best Indian Restaurant in the greater Midulster area 8.5 out of 10

Really great quality food and service

Superb food! One of the best curries we have ever had easily. Family night out for the 5 of us tonight while on holiday and we were just blown away by the experience. Beautiful restaurant and service was good even though they were really busy with eat out to help out. It was the main dishes that really impressed. Loads of tender meat in really well flavoured sauces and for the chicken tikka which most of opted for was the real deal for once with the skewer marks as proof. We loved it!

The best Indian in Ballymena. Great food, great service and friendly staff. Our waitress Jamie tonight was great. As regular visitors we look forward to each and every visit!

Very good food, pleasant staff, nice and clean would revisit

We have so missed Sanjha over lockdown and on Sunday we had an early dinner which was exceptional. The tandoori prawns were excellent as was the Malai curry with more prawns and the Monkfish Biryani melted in the mouth. We tried the chicken 65 which was gorgeous. Peshwari naan again was fantastic. The restaurant is great with social distancing and it felt safe to be eating there. For almost four months we suffered my attempts at curry and I felt it wasn't too bad, then you go to Sanjha and you realise just how accomplished the chef and staff are at cooking and hospitality and how truly pathetic my efforts were. Excellent restaurant.

An excellent meal, first time my wife has ventured to an indian restaurant and she loved it(and she is a fussy eater) She raved about it most of the way home.
