Clearly disappointed, amazing description to the menu , very over priced for portions were poor, the wings undercooked as in pink and blood. Explained to waitress and the complaint was dismissed as they been smoked !!! Never to return!!

Our second visit to Tap & Tan and it was great once again. A little disappointed that the Tomahawk wasn't on the menu, but the Roast Beef was delicious, along with all the trimmings that came with it. It was a very busy Easter Sunday and the staff were working really hard. I would 100% recommend and cant wait to return.

The actual Tap and Tan side was great beer and staff wonderful. Feast the food side need to up their service . The older small dark haired waitress was very unfriendly and rude. We will go back for a beer but not for food.

Food is tasty but service is terrible well over priced for what you get! we got all meat platter for £65 and only received pork wasn’t impressed when it’s so cheap! Over an hours wait for the food is ridiculous, wasn’t as good as people make it out to be! Waitress was kind but they have no customer service in them

Stumbled across this fantastic spot! Atmosphere was bustling brilliant! Found room for us to have a drink as they were very busy as the rugby was on. Fantastic selection of beers from Tenby Brewing Co, from sours, IPA’s and Stouts. The food looked and smelled amazing, open kitchen cooked over fire!! Will definitely be booking for next time to sample!!

The area is beautiful, the customer service, is of a nervous nature, and a little aggressive when you don't pay a service charge. The food is the best feature, very tasty I can't fault it, seasoned well, cooked well, atmosphere not bad. The price is too extaustionate, £65 for a main meal platter for two......hmmmmm tasty absolutely, but, for that price I would rather have 3 courses at £25 each. 2 pints £13.50??

Well worth a visit. Pleasing buzzing atmosphere, friendly staff, great beer and excellent food. What’s not to like? Wish I lived nearer, I’d be there all the time!

Went on Saturday, so December and right in this cold snap. The food that we ordered wasn’t cheap but it was really, really tasty and we found the portions to be a good size. There are veggie and vegan options so it covers most bases. I had the beetroot hummus to start which was massive and then Halloumi as a main. I couldn’t finish it all but found it all to be lovely and a bit different. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Plenty of choice of craft beer if that’s your thing. I went for gin as I’m not so keen on beer. There’s plenty of choice though. I think other people have said that you have to go up to order food and drinks and that you do this separately. I agree this is a bit of a pain. Table service would be better given the price of the food but it’s not a big deal for us. My only real complaint was that there was no heating on. We might have stayed longer but it was freezing. In general, I would highly recommend but take a coat!

No Table service for drinks or food had to go and order yourself when you’re paying £18 just for the main I would want table service for the prices you’re paying. Would rather a proper plate for my food so you can actually fit the food on your plate.

We discovered this restaurant whilst on holiday in Tenby and absolutely loved it here! Great atmosphere and the food was amazing! We shared the ham hock croquettes to start and then the 1k rib eye steak which came with all the trimmings and everything was delicious and worth every penny! We’ve booked again for our last night as lots more we want to try out! Well worth a visit!

We visited on a Wednesday night, great atmosphere, friendly welcome, we had a pulled pork burger and a smoked beef burger followed by sticky toffee pudding. Absolutely delicious food, relaxed atmosphere, good choice of drinks. Went for the beef rib tacos but struggled to choose. Potatoes, sides, sauces and pickles all impressed us. Staff friendly and knowledgeable.

Weekend visit with family glad to have grabbed a table with the rugby on. Went for the sharing plate and not disappointed. The price is a bit off putting at start but when you see what arrives it is truly worth it. We also opted for the mac and cheese as an extra and we'll worth it. Beers on tap are a wide selection but the team behind bar guide you through it very well. It's not cheap but worth the trip if your a food lover.

Wow what a find. We love good bars and bbq food and this is just amazing. We had a beef bun and a bbq pork bun. Do not mistake these for burgers. It’s amazing pieces of meat cooked in the bbq served with roast potatoes. Delicious. Also ordered 2 sausages for the dog and they too were just amazing she loved them Give it a try. What a fabulous gem in the heart of Tenby. Delicious food and terrific beers! I ate the halloumi flat bread and it was incredible and drank Yeah Mango. Do yourself a favour and visit. Dogs welcome too.

We decided on here for an early dinner and a few drinks, we have drank here a few times however it was the first time grabbing food. We ordered the BBQ meat sharing platter and whilst good for the price we felt it lacked a little on quantity and thought one sausage between two was a little tight. However it was lovely but we wouldn't rush to order that dish again. Drinks were spot on.

We visited with our 3 year old daughter and thoroughly enjoyed our meals and drinks. The portions are generous enough to share - we had a meal and a loaded fries between 3 of us and it was plenty. The flavours are amazing - my only wish was that the meals which included salad had more salad in them. The chips were very delicious but the salad was too and I was left wanting more.

We have been going here since it opened a year ago. The food served here was fantastic, fresh and quirky. We ate here on Tuesday, we will not bother again! They have changed the menu and how it is served, I would say they are now an over priced take-away of fried food. 5 items on the menu, 5 ways to choose your fries and two specials, a small menu is great it means freshly prepared food, but not now. Firstly the two special's were not available and no alternatives provided. The 6 Ping Ping prawns were tough as old boots, overcooked, the orange bread crumb coating was over cooked, no flavour what so ever, skin on fries, OK and some rocket leaves, served in a brown take-away box with a disposable fork, £12, so not worth that price! The 6 cod goujons were cod nuggets, they were cooked well, £10, still not worth the money. You could go down the road and get a better full cod & chips for less! So disappointed, nothing quirky here anymore, shame, it was so good before, why did they change it? I have to say that the drinks provided by Sand Bar in this establishment were fab, as usual, their draft cider is lush!

We arrived fairly early in the late afternoon prior to the food service starting but decided to grab a drink and wait. It's a lovely atmosphere sitting out there on a warm early evening. We ordered from the simple but tasty sounding menu when we were able to and food arrived pretty quickly. It was super tasty and we all enjoyed our food. We really liked the little plates as our daughter could pick squid & halloumi, two of her favourite meals!

Went here on Wed 28th July after all the rave reviews. Beer is amazing. Service and food was disappointing, leaving me wanting more vs. the expectations set. Opens at 5pm, we arrived at 5:30pm and got a table. Drinks order taken and served quickly. Food doesn’t start until 6pm so inevitably you have a queue of 20 people at 6pm trying to order food - I was the 8th person to order. By the time I get to the counter I was told there will be a 45 min wait for food. It took 60 mins to arrive at the table. No apologies when food arrived and not even asked if we wanted any sauces, so had to locate the barman and ask him. Menu is exciting but food doesn’t live up to the standards and prices - we ordered a pork burrito with dirty fries upgrade and crab mac & cheese only to be told they’ve ran out of mac and cheese (after 7 orders?). They have been closed for two days but open without stock…We ended up ordering two burritos which had no taste - just meat and rice but no flavour (advertised as slow cooked pork). The dirty fries were basic fries with some spring onions and mayo but again didn’t taste of much at all - I don’t think they warrant the ‘dirty’ advertisement at all. To sum up the beer is out of this world but we we’re really disappointed overall - I feel they are trying too hard or out of their element with food - having a menu they cannot fulfil (in time and taste).

Great breakfast - I had the sour bread with syrup but I tried the taco breakfast too and would get that next time. So nice to see an imaginative menu with tastes to remember.

Amazing food, we had halloumi fries which were cooked perfectly and a slow cooked beef brisket burger which was SO good! The sandbar also has plenty of great beer and gin options so is a good place to go for just drinks, great atmosphere and in a lovely secluded courtyard.

Found this on our last day and stopped by for breakfast. In short I loved the breakfast rap with ham and coupled it with a couple of 1/3 pints of cider and stout. For those who dis the bar it shows how little they appreciate good and well made drinks, a real find if you like the taste and don’t form part of the £1 pint to get drunk brigade. Could it be improved, yes make the logic of 2 businesses working as one a little more fluid. Both work differently but as a customer I don’t care, so introduce a common approach.

Wow! This place is great. The staff are friendly and knowledgable about the drinks. The food was amazing!!! We ordered the shrimp nachos which were outstanding - so tasty. Visited Sandbar and Cwlbox 3 times during our week in Tenby, always for beers, twice for lunch and once for dinner. Shout out to the brilliant staff who despite covering a lot of tables at busy periods were still super friendly and made time for beer  recommendations and local tips when they got chance. Food from Cwlbox was spot on every time. Fresh ingredients and authentic. Loved the tacos and the baked feta they had as specials. This was our fav place for beers in Tenby and the only place for craft. All of Tenby brewery beers were great and they always had good rotating guests. Great bar!

Stumbled across this restaurant and bar at the end of a lane we were curious about. Had some great craft beer and saw food going to other tables and decided to order some ourselves. A couple of things weren't available which is fine when it's fresh, but did limit the choice a little. Really please with the food we ordered, all very fresh and very tasty!

Following good reviews, we visited Sandbar during a week's holiday in Tenby. Sandbar is the bar, serving some of their own beers. The tropical pale ale would be my tip! Cwlbox is the Mexican-style food offering within the bar. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is a lot of the menu was unavailable on the evening we visited, meaning I couldn't have what I'd originally planned. Still very tasty food though!

Loved all the meals here. The breakfasts were so tasty and they were happy to accommodate our little one by making scrambled eggs on toast.

Found this place entirely by accident, I was looking for an easy lunch option but I was blown away by the quality and originality of both the good and the locally brewed beer. If you're here, try the Whitebait. Possibly the best I've ever had. 10/10

On a previous visit to Tenby I visited Sandbar/Cwlbox and found it to be an experience I wanted to ensure I captured again. Along with my 21 year old grandson we secured a table and ordered a glass of craft beer and some great food from Cwlbox. I have to say the food was excellent and the beer top class. The atmosphere was so ‘normal’ after the period of Covid restrictions, it was such a joy that we were back the next night for more.

Excellent food, craft beers and service. Was busy, relatively small venue with limited seating and as you are unable to book a table - advise you arrive in advance of 6pm when food service starts.

Managed to sneak the last free table, and were not disappointed. Great selection of craft beer (some of the local beers or outstanding). Food was great - cant recommend the crab mac n cheese highly enough, but the service sets the place apart. Friendly, funny, kind and helpful staff, made the night even better. Went for dinner, and had the Crispy quid, Garlic prawns with skin on fries, and the Mac & Cheese with crab and chorizo.The food was really nice and amazing quality ingredients, but the portions were more 'tapas' size.A bit on the pricier side considering the portion size.

I was just browsing Tenby with my mum and we found Sandbar & Cŵlbox. The owner opened early for us and they serve mainly seafood but she made a vegan meal on the spot for me, including a vegan tartar sauce from scratch! Tasted absolutely amazing and I'd go back again to try their vegan burrito. My mum had a shrimp burrito which she said tasted incredible too. We were both really happy with the paper and card packaging they used, including the sauce containers.Their menu has loads of dietary options so Cŵlbox really can cater for everyone. Thanks so much for providing vegan food!

One of the best finds of our trip to Tenby, my partner and I loved visiting SandBar & Cwlbox! We visited nearly every night of our trip, sitting at the same table each time and chatting about how much we wished we had a similar bar in our hometown. On our first night we ordered food. I wasnt particularly hungry and just ordered the crab fries. I didn't have high hopes given the simplicity of the whole thing (its just crab, and fries...right?) but couldn't have been more impressed with my meal! The flavour was great, portion size generous and overall great. So happy I ordered it as I enjoyed every bite. It was quite pricey but for such fresh & tasty seafood it felt very well spent. Great selection of gins & beers too. Particularly liked the Mango IPA.Good Covid measures in place, with patrons encouraged to wear a mask at all times (when not seated), tables spaced apart nicely and staff also masked up. Staff were also super friendly and chill. Nice group of guys running the place. I know where our first stop will be should we re-visit Tenby in the future!

I have been coming to Tenby since I was young and am sad I’ve only just now discovered this gem hidden away in upper frog street! The food is right up our street, extremely flavourful, exotic and tasty! Such an amazing find, we cannot wait to come back and try what’s new on the menu and the beers! I would encourage you to advertise more on the street/ around town so fellow foodies know you’re there but by the looks of other reviews and how busy you were, maybe it was just us not looking hard enough! Just what Tenby needs, Thank you!

Loved this place! Fab outdoor setting (with heaters) & chilled vibe throughout. Friendly and attentive staff. Very refreshing and tasty variety of beers & ciders. Favourite watering hole in Tenby by far. Food looks amazing too.

TWICE IN A WEEK!! The first time we visited was really good the second time was outstanding the specials are delicious the Crab YES! The meatballs YES and the BEERS Definite YES!! My mother & I stumbled across SandBar & Cwlbox in Tenby town in the first week of October. First visit. We stepped through the door and were welcomed by what appeared to be the jolly chef. We took our seats and took in the quirky, original and interesting decor.We were attended to my several staff, all polite and helpful. We ordered from the specials that day and found all the food wonderful.Weeks later I can still be bothered to do the review because it deserves a mention, the first in a while for me.I applaud you all.The Good - The staff AND the FoodThe Bad - Not obvious when strolling about The Ugly - Nothing

Called in to try the new food set up at Sandbar. The lady from Cwlbox explained the menu and even showed us pictures of some of the best dishes. She was so lovely. We tried bubble and squeak with egg and pulled ham. Totally amazing, freshly cooked food and such huge portions. Great value for money we will certainly return to try more food soon.The beers and service as usual top class from Joel and his team.

We came here last year and have been eager to return. Unfortunately our trip earlier in the year was cancelled due to covid so we had to a wait a longer... well worth it! The food was exceptional. I mean, really, really outstanding! So much so that we returned here nearly every day of our trip and the days we didn't, we were more than disappointed elsewhere. We experienced lunch and dinner. The "make-your-own Sushi" - wow. The children loved the food and kept asking to go back, even now at home they ask when we are going back there (ages 4 & 8). The craft ales are brilliant as always. The staff are brilliant. Amazing little place and we can't wait to come back next month :-)

We visited the Tenby Brewing co shop and tap room earlier in the day and asked where sold their beers... we were directed to sandbar. What a great place!Good atmosphere (with distancing), good tunes, engaging staff who were up for a chat and a good range of craft beers for tasting. We didn’t eat, but will be back for some food. While we were holidaying in Wales we visited Tenby and happened to eat and drink here. The second visit wasn't to visit Tenby but to return to this place. It was the best food and drink of our holiday. The beers were great and you can try before buying. The food was also great and didn't disappoint on both occasions. My wife and I like to share rather than buy individual dishes so we had a good selection of food over the two days. A highlight, though was the Miso cod and sticky rice. The seaweed salad was also very good but be aware that this is just a small side dish and not what most people would describe as a salad. Try it for the taste. Good beer, good Gin and wine according to my wife, good food, good staff, good atmosphere! Congratulations Cwlbox! You've got my attention.

Rarely write reviews but felt I just had to for this lovely place. Ate at Cwlbox on the beach at Saundersfoot last year and wanted to try this place when we heard they had opened up a restaurant. Food was just gorgeous and kids tried seafood because it was so well presented and loved it. Result! Great beer as well!

Visited the Sandbar last week for the first time and I was not disappointed, the food and service were first class during these strange times. Keep up the good work, and can’t wAit for my next visit x

Ever been thrown out of a bar for drinking beer? After spending £50 on beer myself and my wife were asked to leave for not ordering food, we were told we were not supporting them during Covid! There is no booking service and we had already confirmed with the bar staff that it was OK just to order drinks. We had a spent a considerable amount on previous evenings on beer and food. I would have thought we were supporting them. Is this type of greed good for a business, I don’t believe it is. Treating people with respect and value rather than a commodity would be an ideal business strategy. Our hard earned money will now be supporting establishments within Tenby with a more enlightened outlook.

Amazing food. Great vibe. Had the vegan banh mi and noodles. Both excellent. Helpful staff. All the food was freshly prepared.

Good selection of beers and a large portion of vegan ramen (full of fresh veg and flavours). Friendly atmosphere and staff.
