Good all round pub, reasonably priced, nice pint and clean facilities. Can't comment on food as we didn't eat.

We were quite dissapointed with our meals. My husband had chicken and mushroom pie. The pie lid was very hard and tough to cut through and there was hardly any chicken in it, the portion of gravy was extremely small. I had fish and chips which were quite bland, not a lot of taste to fish or batter. Having said this we did eat it as we were so hungry.

Service is alright but the food is dry and expensive for what it is, overall really disappointed even for pub food

Tables had been cleaned with damp smelly cloth , food was awful and overcooked , child over 6 portion was tiny . Had to ask for more mash . Was overcharged but didn’t realise till I came home 2 adults meals and 2 kids meals for a £1 plus 2 cokes and charged £38 !!!!! If I had know this before I left I would have asked for a refund

Love the Chicken Tikka but the carvary is also a great choice. The kids options are also very good. We used to come here a lot, not so much at the moment but it is still our favourite carvery. Local, great location, good prices and friendly staff.

Table and Bar was sticky. They didn't clear away most of the empty plates. Glasses were dirty. Despite bad first impressions most of the food was superb

Popped in without booking, as was just passing with the family. Ordered on the app at the table, staff brought food to the table. Didn't really have much interaction with staff as they were literally bringing things to the table, and gone - fast and efficient, but then takes away the customer service element a bit. Food was good, reasonably priced. Location was right next to Cardiff City Football stadium, so loads of parking. Turned up without booking so didn't expect much, but pleasantly surprised. Would definitely visit again

I'm not somebody to moan or a cheap skate. I went wenseday March 24.myself and brother. Ordered food from the match day menu so we decided to have cowboy burgers £12.50p each. 2 pints of Pepsi max£4.00each total £41.00.i felt we were ripped off. Because the reason we want there was to near the ground.its only £10to park at the stadium. And there's a McDonald's a kfc nandos. I was taken for a mug..the size of the burgers was nothing like I tasted at macs and I don't like going to these places.

Food was awfel .went in at lunch time 7 th march .staff just stood talking vinegar bottles all empty. Had a prawn cocktail just luttace pushed in ting piece cucumber. 4 prawns dropped on top. Never gj there again

I now the price of everything gone up but £12for burger and chips and £4+ for soft drinks so I payed £41 for 2 burgers and soft drinks. The reason I came here because I'm a designated driver.

Table was sticky like it had been cleaned with dirty cloths Cutlery was go get your own. We have been in many Marstons before and never had to find our own cutlery. My wife had the Kebab salt and chilli chicken. She struggled to find the chicken which was very sparse. I had the steak and ale pie which had a crust I couldn’t cut through. The meat was very tasty though. Ladies toilet very unkept with taps running and toilet paper all over the floor.

This is the third time we have been here for Cardiff today City match day, again NO BEER, NO Guinness, all seats taken, because tables & chairs removed to accommodate two pool tables. Utter shambles! Who decides when to order barrels for a match day.

Very poor service, ran out of pretty much of everything & no carvery, and they didn't even ask if everything was OK after our meal..

If you want Sunday lunch get hear early as we booked for 2pm and it was all sold out. We booked from the menu but most of the things were out.

A bit disappointing haven't been for a while i went expecting to have a carvery only to find out they have stopped them (only on a sunday) meal was OK bit small we both had smothered chicken, the place was quiet not many people eating there was more drinkers. It was a shame as I used to like going here.

Absolutely outstanding service. Iv attended today 26th Jan with my mastiff and have been welcomes and accommodated lovely. The staff hear are wicked people with hearts of gold and a good friendly attitude towards customers:)

lady serving the carvery was lovely and very friendly. Meat on carvery was not very good and no decaf hot drink options e.g decaf tea . Waited a long time for the puddings to arrive and they were luke warm.

I went with my son for a meal. The food was good, the atmosphere was good. It was a pleasant experience. The barman was very nice and friendly. It's a tidy, well-presented place. It's a great place to go if you want a meal and conversation. It was easy to park. We'll go there again, definitely.

The food have really gone dwn hill the portion size was terrible, the onion rings were the size of my wifes wedding ring, and we only had five scampis each with our surf & turf..I think we'll stick with the oystercatcher from now on..atleast the staff are friendly

I had the Surf and Turf and I would recommend it. It came with nice mushrooms. It's a large and popular place with plenty of space.

The staff were very friendly and patient (we had a few young children with us).

Went with a large group for a prebooked Christmas meal .It was really disappointing food was lukewarm to cold . we were expecting a carvery no longer do carvery only weekend s now got a almost cold turkey dinner no cranberry sauce was offered a long wait for the gravy and rest of the vegetables. Suspect the roast dinners were yesterdays left overs brick hard roast potatoes poorly warmed up!the staff did their best as they were the only servers there to run the bar serve us and other customers at the same time would definitely not recommend it took so long some people had to leave to go back to work before desert arrived very disappointing!

Awful service and rude staff as soon as we got there. We reserved a table but no one came to greet us just all chatting behind the bar. We said we had a reservation (there were 5 people in there anyway?) only to be told “it’s ok just sit anywhere”. My sister even got a text before we went saying along the lines of don’t forget your booking or cancel your table - what’s the point! Went to order food (7 of us) to be told “we don’t have that, or that” so we couldn’t actually order what we wanted as they couldn’t provide half of the menu! Nice lady that took our order and it wasn’t her fault at the unavailability of everything. Everyone else was chatting or coughing behind the bar ignoring people. I had to ask for cutlery to be told “it’s over there with the sauces” I looked at it was empty to I had it actually needs filling up. The food arrived (not what we wanted anyway) and the server came over and said “rump” and put the plate down. No people skills at all and no manners with this. Good wasn’t good at all. Should have gone to KFC across the road instead. Won’t be returning

Firstly arrived to be ignored by all four members of the team stood chatting behind the bar, we booked and reserved but told sit anywhere by someone who had the air of not having a care. Food, well what we got was meh and that was only after we were told that they didn't have garlic bread, mixed grill or southern fried chicken. Lady behind bar then said grab our cutlery from over to the side, the unit was empty we had to chase for more and they then forgot to get us an ordered latte (it was very quiet). Won't be visiting again as this was nice has gone downhill.

Lovely place going there for family Christmas Dinner

We had nobody come over and ask us if we wanted anything or tell us what we had to do we had to keep going up we got hassled a lot of the time email wise when I tried calling nobody answered but stressful tbh

Opens and closes when they want. Ignore the hours on google.

The food was lovely, came out hot & was delicious. The main issue was the service, no napkins, ladies loos didn't have loo roll in all the cubicles. And a general lack of atmosphere.

Well what a awful review to write. The heating wasn't working even the staff were wearing coats it was that cold and it didn't help the air conditioning was on full blast. When asked if they could turn it off the response was no as it had to be on because of the smoke (confused). The food was the smallest portion we have ever had in a lot of Marstons pubs we have been to. It didn't stay hot for very long because of the cold so most of our meal was cold. Then we come to the pudding. From the several times my partner queried as to where and how long we had to wait after a very cold an annoying 40 minutes after finishing our main meals we gave up told a member of staff not to bother and we left. I am disabled and the coldness of the pub affected me greatly. Sorry for the awful review but we won't be returning. Paid full price for 2 mains and 2 deserts and only had the mains. Definitely NOT value for money.

Pre football so limited but very good food menu with fast service. Was busy with the football crowd but staff managed the bar very well.

Call in this pub prior to Cardiff City matches. Last two visits no Pedigree beer, then last night, no Guinness. Tables & chairs removed in dining area to accommodate two pool tables, not in use. Plus dartboard. All this in the space of the previous home game, people standing in bar area due the tables being removed. Fans next to me complaining that the pub has gone downhill. Sorry, was not impressed.

Really disappointing visit here, lots of options on the menu were not available and the food we did choose made the whole family ill afterwards. My little girls sausage looked like it had been re heated and staff were miserable. Only good thing is there is a toddler play area and the seating area is pretty spacious, although when we visited the area near the kidzone was sectioned off so I couldn’t even keep a close eye on my little one. Safe to say we won’t be returning here.

Overall not a very nice experience I had lumps of ice in my ice cream and food was very small portions the adults portions and the management team letter staff to it and went to the shop

Massively gone downhill, place was dirty overall. Toilets weren't clean and we were the 1st people in there as we were waiting outside for it to open so clearly not attended to. Food wasn't the best we all had Sunday lunch. Won't go back unfortunately

The service was really helpful, we had a member of our party who is dairy and gluten intolerant. So it was really helpful that they had an entire menu that completely catered to their needs. The service and delivery of food was really quick. The children’s area was prefect for my children who are both under 5 it meant that they didn’t have to sit to long or on tablets. Would 100% recommend and would 100% come back again. One suggestion though is children cutlery and to bring the children’s food first, other than that we had a lovely experience.

plenty of parking, the premises, so very poor, odd chairs at dried out tables, very drab & screamed refurb. Shown to table chose the carvery it's appearance was quite good The obvious foods ie meat, Yorkshire puddings, carrots, cauliflower, roast parsnips and sprouts, peas, mash and roast potatoes(they looked tasty) there were 2 dishes didn't have a clue, there were no label's, but all adequately displayed Had turkey, yp, peas, mash, roasties, carrots & parsnips, then around the corner for gravy, sat, went to get cutlery, which looked, in poor condition, felt the need to give it a rub, then we started to eat, it was so poor, only picked at it & left the rest it was nothing like it looked, I would never eat here again, other facilities here were also extremely poor.

Myself and family had a carvery at the weekend. Food was really really good and the staff service was great, especially the manager, Holly. I couldn’t fault anything and will be back again soon. I would definitely recommend as a family friendly pub!

Meals were OK. Chicken burger was tough. Ordered desert at the bar and when they arrived at the table the waitress didn't take away our plates. I had to call her back to take them. Heineken served in random pint glasses - doesn't look good

The Sunday roast was unreal , took some people from out of town and they were all amazed that I hadn’t been before . Can’t wait to go back again !

It's a great pub in a good location with friendly helpful staff but is disappointing on Cardiff City football home days. It appears to have a reduced menu at these times. Changes for the worse too. Portion sizes and choices seem to be reduced and no carvery 😕. Definitely not value for money for what we had. Best avoided on football days unfortunately.

The prices are horrendous for a cheap glass of wine. I’ve been coming to this pub since it opened at least 3- 4 times a week not anymore there is no reason for it to be so expensive it’s not a gastro pub, Rea and Liv suggest ideas and other people take the credit. Used to be a a great pub not anymore and I’ll be spending my money in the Hudo lounge in Canton which you need to look at

Second attempt and still not any better, meal lovely but the veggies not good only greenery were the peas. Roast potatoes hard and and everything else tasteless. Also only j2o and soda water as no other soft drinks available? Sorry won't be back

The food was cold. Portion sizes have come smaller and prices have increased. Disappointed. When ordering I had to repeat myself many times. (It was at a quiet time aswel). Drinks were given I small glasses no option given of what size we wanted. This uses to be a great place to take the family. However food has gone down hill

Good standard of food with generous portions for an affordable lunch option. Cater's for small children as well which makes it a favourite for a Sunday lunch experience.

My husband and I brought my grandmother for lunch after my mother passed away last week unexpectedly. We wanted to get her out of the house. We came for lunch as we knew it would be quieter. The service was great. We ordered at the table which was really convenient. The food was lovely. It was a pleasant experience.

Really sorry to leave a poor review has this used to be the go to place for me and my mother before Cardiff games has the food was great and the atmosphere was nice has you only allowed people to come in if they where eating to avoid loads just getting drunk. Though after going in Saturday I now see you allow people in just to drink which caused an awful experience where me and my mother where surrounded by drunks wanting our table and just standing over us while we where trying to eat which made us feel uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see our food be very poor compared to your normal standard and both meals where missing items but couldn't speak to anyone due to it being so crowded at the bar. I understand that you might have changed things to get more money on match days which I completely understand but why don't you have an eating section cut off from people who only what to drink ? That would make so much difference and I would feel more comfortable to try the sand Martin again to see if things have improved has if it remains the same i will be eating elsewhere.

Very welcoming good atmosphere even at your busiest time you were able to fit us in. Food well presented and variety of veg available. Overall a very well presented pub carvery.

Feom the moment we entered I knew we shouldve left, the staff rude and aggressive which as it was bisy I almost understood but it didnt end there. Food overcooked and missing loads of items. Staff stood around gossiping as we overheard many things that were inapporopriate and not concentrating on serving

We arrived on a Sunday to get a carvery, as we went to the till to pay for our carvery we were greeted by an extremely moody woman who informed us that they were no longer doing the carvery at 2:30pm… No explanation! Who stops serving a carvery at 2:30

It was my first time. It was really nice inside. Easy to order food and drinks. It come really fast as well. Food was lovely. Hot and tasty. Friendly staff. And was very clean.

18 of us gathered here yesterday for a birthday and family catch up and the team couldnt of done more to be more accomodating even though admitedly we can be a little awkward. Good came out quick and the staff serving were all excellent we have already booked our next visit here

Two of us booked a table for the Wednesday curry and drink for £11.95 offer. We were charged an extra £3 each for choosing half rice and chips with our curry which we weren’t advised beforehand and was the main negative. We both had a pint of pedigree with our meal, which was the only ale available, although it was very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Food (beef madras and chicken masala) both tasty and decent portion size.

Visited with friends for the Cardiff match Saturday just gone and was good to see familiar faces serving good beer without a long wait time - this is the best place to go before the match

Excellent carvery and always hot! Have to get own cutlery and napkins now, but not too worried. Wasn't given correct receipt/tickets for meal. Very accommodating, however. Nice ambience too.

Popped in for some food and drinks on Friday afternoon. The service was amazing. We will definitely be returning!
