Sanchan’s is the best kept secret in Beeston. Have gone twice now and the atmosphere and kind service is unrivalled, and the food is top quality and very generously portioned. Excited to return again soon!!

Great good and very friendly staff. We thought didn't look much from the outside but what a lovely restaurant. From the moment we sat down, chat during meal and when we left the staff could not do enough. The food is fantastic. We can't wait to go back next time we visit our son at Uni

Came across this restaurant when staying in the area with a group of friends. We let the owners choose what to serve. This proved to be a great decision. We got a lovely range of dishes, all of which tasted delicious. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Good job we don't live here not sure my weight management could cope. Wonder if they deliver to Scotland ?!

Couldn’t fault this lovely place at all. After coming up to visit my brother at Uni, this was the perfect place for us to meet for a really fresh and delicious meal ! Plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans too which was really nice to see - it even got me enjoying tofu!

We visit here as a family as often as we can the food is just the best we’ve had outside of Thailand! The kids love the starters and pad Thai and the curries are just the best! The staff are so lovely and cater to any adjustments on the meals it’s always a fantastic experience eating here

very friendly place, my order was not phoned through, just turned up and 20 mins later, ready to pick up. Big hearted Irish fellah behind the counter, made it all a great experience, and by the way, the food was excellent !!

Went on Tuesday evening for Eat Out to Help Out Offer. We had chicken satay and Thai fish cakes to start which were excellent. In fact the satay chicken was better than my usual restaurant. Then we had chicken pad Thai which was really good. We also had a pork dish that had a sauce that was more a dipping sauce than an actual pour over sauce so we weren’t too keen on this dish and the pork was also quite tough so will avoid in future. Coconut rice was good though. Apart from the pork dish (which was more our fault for ordering as we didn’t find out exactly what it was) it was very good and we’ll definitely go back.

Had a takeaway from here this evening and it was delicious!Generous portions and freshly cooked to order.I also thought the service was excellent when I picked up the order. We have eaten in the restaurant a few times too and have always found it a very enjoyable, tasty experience.Highly recommended!

I visit here regularly as I work in Beeston. The food is lovely!! Always piping hot and full of flavour. Would definitely recommend this place!

Not your run of the mill Thai, much more a family run restaurant that really takes care of you. Food is really consistent and authentic and served by very polite and attentive staff. If you’re local, there really can’t be a reason to travel far for some delicious Thai food.

I have eaten here countless times and I can honestly say that the food NEVER disappoints. The tofu massaman curry with coconut rice is my go to! I am yet to find a place that makes a better massaman and coconut rice. A true gem of a restaurant!

Long time no try Thai foods , chose this base on easy parking area nearby at back of the restaurant . Even Thursday evening , shop full house , really running good business with their transitional Thai cooking foods , friendly waitress , highly recommended.

Spur of the moment decision on a Friday night. We hadn’t booked but we were early enough for a table to be free. By the time we left every table was full!We had Tom yum soup and mixed starter. Both were excellent. For main I had panang curry and my husband had Larb. The latter was a new dish to try but my husband really enjoyed it. Food is well prepared great quality with excellent portions. The service is friendly too.

The food is the best for miles around and we’ve eaten in many different Thai restaurants The staff are lovely and accommodate every request including my daughter asking for no Brussel sprouts in her Pad Thai 🤣 10/10 every time 👍

What can we say - My brother & Wife and 2 boys who live in Abu Dhabi me and my husband mum and dad who was celebrating they 60th wedding anniversary and me my 59 birthday on 22nd August we have the most wonderful evening and wonderful meal the starter where to die for the mains great - just like being in Bangkok. Although we have lived in Beeston for a few years, this is the first time we have visited Sanchans. And it won’t be the last. Wow. The food is incredible. We had perhaps the finest Thai green curry we have ever eaten and the mixed Thai starter was just the right size and totally delicious. Our waitress was smashing and the whole experience was great. Not enough superlatives to say how much we enjoyed the food. Thank you chef/s we will return!

Called on a Saturday night , no booking, but was made welcome.staff attentive,starters and main courses were freshly prepared and very flavoursome. Generous portions and felt satisfied when we left.great value for money, and looking forward to next visit to try something else from menu.

First time visiting Sanchans and it won't be the last. A nice cosy atmosphere with friendly staff. Started the meal with the mixed starter and the wife had fish cakes, all very nice. Main course was chicken Pad Thai and the Kang Mussamun chicken curry. What great flavours! any generous portions. The presentation was good also. £50 with a bottle of wine, you can't fault it.

A group of eight of us went out for an evening meal at Sanchans. We each had a plate of mixed starters very tasty and a nice variety. On the hosts suggestion we had a selection of different dishes, chicken, fish, duck, noodles, and rice. The dishes provided a contrast of complementary flavours all excellently cooked and beautifully presented. The food was beautifully spiced, and a treat for our tastebuds, portion sizes were very generous. My personal favourite was the duck dish, and went chatting with my mates afterwards it was clear we all the meal. Great food, great value, and great staff. Highly recommended.

I’ve ordered takeaway from here before but this was the first time I had eaten in the restaurant. The decor is a little dated but it just adds to the laid back vibe of the place. Food is very reasonably priced and delicious. The staff are always charming. Pad Thai and beers for two came to £27 and felt like excellent value. Am sure we’ll be back before long!

Tried a selection of citrus, fish and spicy Thai salad. All great and best we have had since our trip to Thailand last year! Definitely recommend.

We shared a starter of chicken satay and for main the beef and peanut curry and the duck (no 44 - amazing). With it we had two rice (coconut and egg fried - both very good) and a beer and wine. £40. Incredible value. Very tasty food and friendly, attentive, staff. The duck (no 44!) is delicious.

I live in Beeston and when I want a really good thai dinner I go to Sanchan. I am not joking when I say that after a long tiring day at work, Sanchan with his food and his lovable waitresses makes me smile and let me leave the place happy! =D

Was very welcomed when arrived ordered drinks and meals. Starter came was very nice and presented nice. Our mains came my mum ordered a king prawn meal which was £15. She tried prawns and they were very chewey so was obviously over cooked. so she told the women and the women said was because they were king prawns thats why they were chewey? Well we have had king prawns many off times and they are never like that. My mum is not one to moan and send meals back but she was very dissapointed as she loves prawns. She said she can take back 2 the kitchen but if she carrys on eating it she will charge her. So mum gave it her back and she took it never said sorry and my dad was still waiting for his meal for a while the women never brought it out like she had before it was a chef who came out with it. When she arrived out the kitchen she shouted across the restuarnt to a man to take the king prawn off the bill so we would hear her and then she looked at us. Never had any interaction from her since sending the meal back. Never even asked my mum if she would like anything else of the menu, never asked if we was ok, wanted any more drinks. We thought this was very bad and very rude. Our other meals were ok i had a Thai red curry which was nice but my dads and aunties was just average no Thai about it and the rice was just stodgy we couldent even eat it. The women was very rude she Seemed like she was offended because my mum sent her meal back but customer is always right. She never cleared our plates when we was finished. I asked her for the bill and a man brought it us. She blatantly avoided us. Very unprofessional if you can't take criticism then your in the wrong job like i say customers are always right. Will definitely not be returning to this restaurant again been to many better thai restaurants.

Arrived at this restaurant with my great aunt who used to come regularly but hasn’t been in a year, we came through the door and the manager immediately addressed my aunt by name, welcoming her return to the restaurant. We had a lovely table in the corner and the staff we efficient and attentive. Our party of three had mixed starters and the tempura prawns all of which were delicious. We then had chicken Tod Gra-Tiem Prik-Tai and salmon Shu-Shee with Jasmine rice and my aunt had the golden bags as a main course. Again all the food was freshly prepared and delicious. We had a bottle of the Malbec red wine to accompany our meal and it was served at a nice room temperature. Highly recommend this restaurant for its friendly service and lovely food.

On a cold and wet Friday night we chose to visit Sanchans. The service was warm and prompt. The wine was reasonably priced and decent.

Went early on a Saturday evening and it soon got busy. Service was excellent and the ladies that work there are so attentive and very friendly. Food was so tasty and piping hot and very reasonably priced. Definitely would return.

Had a meal here and there were 11 of us in the party and although the food was very good the service was very slow maybe if the groups smaller they could of handled it better.

Beeston has so many brilliant restaurants, sadly this is not one of them. I love Thai food my favourite is Ga Prow at Thailand No 1.For a Thai restaurant I was amazed how bland the food tasted. Thai is usually so flavorsome but my meal was at best boring, also I found the service impersonal almost to the point of disinterested and rude. Generally a disappointing experience.

It's a very nice place with great service and authentic Thai food (my friend and I have stayed in Thailand for a couple of months before). It's very good value for the price, with gigantic portions as well. Just be careful, if they say spicy, it is spicy! Had a great time and will be back!

Came here for a family birthday with a group of 12 on Friday night. The service was amazing. Right from when we called to make the reservation, the guy who we spoke to was very friendly and very helpful. The staff were amazing. Very attentive and very friendly. Food was amazing. Had a beef massaman, the best Thai food outside of Thailand. Really. And the food portions were huge. I had trouble finishing. Very good portion size. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

My husband and I stopped for lunch before returning to Cornwall . We had the 2 course lunch and there was more than enough to choose from . We all agreed it was delicious and good value . Don't be put off by the purple exterior and unusual decor inside . It's worth a visit

We visited here on Saturday night with a friend this time and were very pleased with food. Drinks are a little on the pricier side and the service was very slow even though there was only another one or two tables of people in at the time, but food was very nice, so it wouldn't stop us from visiting again.

Best Thai restaurant in Nottingham with no doubt! Everything in the menu is delicious apart from the Fish cake that is a bit too strong and tastes like eucalyptus (?).

We booked by phone, were welcomed with a traditional Thai bow and shown to our table. We ordered drinks almost immediately, food was ordered soon after we had studied the menu, it turned up pretty quickly and was very good, one pad thai and one thai green curry. The bill was very reasonable and I would not hesitate to go back.

First visit and certainly won't be our last. At 7:30pm on a Friday, we called around a few places for dinner. The guy who answered was really friendly and helpful and when quizzed about suitability for coeliacs (gluten) he could recite all the gluten free dishes off the menu, which was actually most of them. Very helpful and very welcoming. Food was just as good as other Thai places we've been. Reasonable price.

The food is nice. It takes a long time to cook but it's worth the wait. The service is ok and the staff polite but it's all quite simple. It feels a little dated and the prices high for the type of venue but I say it again the food is good. We went on a quiet night and so the wait and service aside you might expect warmed up food or yesterday's reheats but it was all fresh and tasty and portions were a good size.Not the best I've ever had but would revisit and certainly not bad for the location

We are new to the area and wanted a takeaway last night and this came up on Google. Collection only and it was only 5 mins from us, staff was fine however food was pretty poor. Sticky rice was microwaved and the rendang curry was not thick enough (seemed more like a massaman to me) and it tasted a bit Chinesey with poor quality meat. Needless to say, we won't be back :(

We went to this restaurant for a family meal and it was lovely. The staff are friendly and attentive and the service was relaxed and very well timed. Everybody was impressed with their meals and all plates were cleared. The wine was good quality and very reasonably priced, the only criticism I could have is that we had to ask for water, but when we did a large jug of iced water was brought immediately.I would recommend this restaurant for anyone wishing to enjoy good Thai food in nice relaxed surroundings.

Cycling to meet my wife for lunch in Beeston I spied the outside benches on a sunny Friday afternoon. I was tempted by the menu specials. Great choice friendly service. Recommend the Pad gra-prao. Awesome authentic Thai. Good heat (chilli ) to it too. Thoroughly recommend. Will be back.

A Thai chef and an Irishman behind the bar make for a winning combination. The food is served at a sensible pace, tastes great, and sometimes we manage starters as well. If you like spicy food, this is the best place in Beeston.

A friend recommended Sanchans a couple of years ago and I am so glad they did! We have had several meals here and have consistently had excellent food and service, thank you.

Positives - The food in itself was fine, slightly slow service but not too bad, also rather good value.One huge negative - After finishing our meals, noticed on the salad the underside of the decorative carrot was covered in black furry mould, complained to both the waitress and the chap at the door, both of which apologised but neither seemed at all interested. 4 of us ate here on Sat night, wow! We're eaten in many Thais restaurants and can say we enjoyed every dish here. Crispy duck, crispy lemon chicken, pad thai, massaman are but a few dishes we tried. The malbec wine £6.65 per large glass was fantastic too.Service was helpful and friendly. All in all a great thai meal and we'll definitely be back.Total including 6 alcoholic drinks, starters and main came to approx £90

Staff very friendly and helpfull, the food is excellent, chicken satay for starters was amazing. I had duck in tamarind which was huge and mt partner had spicy minced pork which was also huge but very tasty. Highly recommended and next time where in town we'll definitely call in again.

Our first visit with friends who had previously been twice and were raving about it...so we had to try it...we were not disappointed. Tempura veg starters were tasty but the main courses surpassed expectations. Had the best green thai curry in a long time..it was fresh and delicious with coconut rice and the Jungle curry was spicy but very flavoursome. Having eaten at a city centre Thai place just a couple of weeks ago, which was great but pricey, Sanchans is far and away the best value for simply delicious food. We'll definitely be going back.

Me and my husband visited for a date night recently, and really enjoyed our evening. Service was good, and the food was lovely. My husband had fried duck, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had a tofu dish which was nice, but the tofu was a little dry and bland. The food came quickly and our drinks were replenished when we wanted them. All in all, we had a very nice evening and would return.

Service was good, however, the starter that we ordered came out AFTER the main course and so had to be eaten with it which put me off it as I was getting quite full. The meal that I chose was Thai Green Curry with Chicken and it was very very nice. As this was a lunch hour treat I was in a bit of a hurry anyway so I wasn't too concerned that the starter came after the main course but I would not have been happy had it been in an evening or I had more time. I would recommend Sanchans as the food is very nice and very fresh.

I had the spring rolls to start with Thai green as a main. Absolutely fantastic. The best thai food I've eaten, I really can't recommend them more. My partner had the satay starter and red curry - also mind blowingly good and my friend had a lovely pork dish. The venue is small but nicely decorated, with Asian ornaments and nicely dressed tables. We were the first ones there for lunch so got a window table. The waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable, knowing all the different spice levelsof the dish and recommending meals to suit individual taste. The restaurant was impressively cheap, with a 2 course lunch costing just £9.50. The drinks were £2 for a large soft drink. It came to just £34.50 for three of us to have two courses each. Finally, the restaurant is situated in a very convenient area of Beeston high street, we parked at Tesco and it was around a 5 minute walk.I would highly recommend this fantastic little restaurant.

We we went over lunch at work for a colleagues birthday and it was lovely.We chose to have 2 courses from the £9.50 lunch menu so really reasonable too!I had the mixed starter which had prawn toast, chicken satay and a spring roll, it was nice to have the options to sample and was very tasty.I had Thai red curry for main, I am used the the sauce being thinner but was a lovely rich sauce with fresh ingredients.Will be returning for an evening meal when time allows ... If only I lived locally! Mmm.Defo a place to try if you like Thai food..don't be put off by the size of the place either (quite small inside) it makes for a cosy experience could do with some music in the background if I'm going to be picky but I understand it's hard to meet everyone's taste.

Although very good food is served the service is not the best. The guy greeting people at the entrance is very rude and quite often uses to mix up order when I order take away.

The food here really is very good, and reasonably priced. We've had takeaway from them several times and generally have been very happy, but last time they had given our order to someone else and tried to persuade us to take their order instead... For some reason they don't like taking your name when you order - if you place an order with them insist on them noting who it's for!

This restaurant may not look very appealing, the décor is uninspiring and may put some people off. But the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is great, plenty variety and lots of amazing flavours. I have never been to Thailand so can't say how authentic it is but its the best food Thai food I've tasted in the UK.
