We went for an 80th celebration meal, had the 3 course menu and enjoyed my dishes. Overall very pleased and the food standard was very good for everyone in the party. Had the feeling of a special occasion

Went here for an anniversary meal last year. Saw it online and thought we'd give it a whirl. Stayed over at the hotel and booked in to the restaurant for the evening meal. There are no words high enough to say how much we enjoyed this place. It was incredible, the food was amazing and the service was outstanding. The small dishes in-between the courses were just as amazing as the main meals. Would I go back to Scunthorpe for Scunthorpe? No. Would I go back to Scunthorpe for San Pietro? Absolutely!!

We always treat ourselves a couple of times a year to a night away and a fantastic meal at San pietro and are never disappointed so there was only ever one place I knew to hold a surprise 50th so i booked the private dining experience in the Mill room for 12 of our family. The service was exceptional we were looked after all evening and nothing was too much trouble, the food was as good as ever and the special touches are always greatly appreciated, I couldn’t recommend this gem enough and they deserve all the success they have , happy 20th San Pietro, wishing you many more years of making people happy

I stayed at the hotel on business for 2 weeks in September and had breakfast and dinner every day here. The continental breakfast is just delicious. Proper warm full sized pastries, fresh fruit (not tinned), tasty granola and amazing coffee. I had a cooked avocado and poached egg on toast as an extra which was delicious. The dinners, what can I say just wow, incredible. From the amazing complimentary focaccia , oils and aranchini, mains - the most wonderful pasta, sea bass and the dessert in particular the chocolate pyramid (the best dessert I have ever had). Not only was the food amazing but every single member of staff was fantastic and attentive. With a special mention to Ruth and Pierro. But thank you to everyone including the chefs! The most delicious food!!

We had an amazing experience with Jenna and the team. We organised our seperate wedding evening do here. Jenna was great she catered to all of our needs and the room was exactly what we asked for. All of our guests had a fab night and all commented on how good the pizzas and chips were. Thankyou so much and we can’t wait to visit again for a lovely meal at our special place

We had a warm welcome on arrival and a wonderful lunch. It was a joy to experience such quality food, prepared with care, cooked with excellent culinary expertise, and presented with beautiful precision. The front of house service was impeccable, informative, prompt, precise, yet friendly. A delight. We travelled for over an hour to the restaurant and the journey was well worth it. Our conversation on the way back home was all about how delicious the food was. Thank you to everyone who made this such a delightful experience.

So we are here one year on from our amazing, fabulous wonderful wedding all October 15 2022. Jenna, who was the wedding coordinator, is the best person to organise your wedding. She was amazing. From start to finish all the way through the wedding day, she was an absolute superstar. The venue 20 out of 20 food 30 out of 20. I don’t use the word perfect very often but my wedding day last year was perfect. And then celebrate our one year anniversary in the hotel just topped it all off celebrating our one year anniversary . I must add that this is included in the package so what a beautiful thing to look forward to. I recommend you to have your wedding at this restaurant hotel. It’s definitely the best place in Scunthorpe by far.

Iam sorry but I totally disagree with the comments Imogen made I believe I was visiting the hotel that night ( it’s only going by the other comments that was made and I visited early October ) with friends and ate in the restaurant I had no experience of flys or mosquitoes The service and atmosphere was great, Iam sorry but when ordering in a fine dinning restaurant you have to wait for the food it’s not a fast food place not only that you generally get complimentary bread and chefs daily special appetiser Iam sure this is ample to keep you going until your food arrives The same applys for breakfast when I went down they was home made granola fresh fruit , yogurts ( in a bucket of ice) bread, crumpets and pastry’s We was the customers purchasing goods , in actual fact when I once visited at Christmas they had a display off Christmas trees in the cabinets and I mentioned it the night before when we was eating in the restaurant the following morning Piero ( the chef ) went out of his way to go to the stock room to bring a selection down for us to choose from. I then pointed to a lamp I had also purchased on another visit

Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. We were looked after like film stars. Staff were brilliant and couldn’t do enough for us.

I am very disappointed in the previous review. Where a couple did noting only complain in the review. I was mentioned as the gentleman that was sitting beside them at breakfast. First i would like to put a few things straight. I also sat beside them at dinner the previous evening and yes there was a complaint about a fly (ONE), there was certainly no mosquitos. The service was excellent. As regards the next morning at breakfast and where a complaint is made as regards the service, this is simply not true as again i was sitting beside this couple. It was said that I finished my breakfast which is not true, I remember very well their cooked breakfast was served promptly. Overall the food was excellent as was the service.

Dinner We travelled to the area to attend my Brothers Wedding. We arrived on Friday afternoon with Dinner booked for 6:30pm that evening. We booked the Hotel based on the reviews on the Restaurant. We thought we would travel down a night early to enjoy a lovely date night at the highly rated Restaurant. The Hotel is phenomenal and we do not have a single bad word to say about both the amenities and staff of the Hotel - excellent! We arrived at the San Pietro restaurant at 6:30pm for Dinner and were seated at our table. Upon arrival, our table was hounded by flies and mosquitoes. My Husband was bitten on the face by a mosquito leading to a welt developing on his face. Obviously, we cannot expect the staff to control the ecosystem, but the volume of flying creatures was certainly alarming. After ordering, we waited an hour for any food to arrive, while other tables had had several courses brought out and cleared away in this time frame. Just before the food arrived, we had finished our bottle of wine, and my Husband was naturally quite frustrated, so got up and spoke with a lovely staff member and addressed both the flies/ mosquitoes and our long wait on food. We were moved across the restaurant to another table and our food was brought out. Again, this is after an hour of waiting for our food. The food was okay. We ordered our dessert, which came out in a timely manner, ate, and left - after over 2hrs of being inside the restaurant. Breakfast Again, another disappointing experience. We had upgraded to the cooked breakfast to prepare us for a long day at the Wedding. You have to pre order, and confirm a time slot to attend. We chose 9am. We were made that if we wished to cancel the cooked breakfast, it must be well in advance of our time slot - we assumed this would be because the food would be ready for our appointment slot or soon after and therefore would be a waste of food to cancel too close to the appointed time slot. We arrived at 9am sharp, were not greeted for a little while, then we’re just told to take a seat at any table and take anything we’d like from the continental breakfast buffet. The buffet - 3 bowels of fruit, some cereal, and some warm yogurt. We sat down for breakfast at the same time as another Gentleman also staying in the hotel. We again waited, and waited, and waited for our cooked breakfast.. The Gentleman who sat at the exact same time as us, was served his cooked food, ate, and left before our food even came out. After 45 minutes, our food arrived. Cold eggs, solid and inedible bacon, and the rest was barely warm. The food looked and tasted like it had been cooked hours earlier, and had been sat under a hot lamp for the rest of the morning. While we were attempting to eat our Breakfast, a member of the staff (we assumed one of the Chefs) was loudly selling his restaurant decorations to a group of other diners directly behind our table. They were pointing out decorations they wanted from the restaurant, one of which was a lamp located on the windowsill directly behind my Husband. The guests leaned over him to admire this, while we were eating - the team member then fetched a new one from his stores for them. Obviously, the team/ staff cannot be responsible for other guests’ actions, however, we were also paying guests at both the restaurant and hotel and feel the team member who was conducting his business in breakfast restaurant should have directed the guests away from tables eating to have this interaction. Overall, extremely disappointing and not worth the hundreds of pounds we spent on the Restaurant. We paid, because we are honest and honourable people, and chose to book a table. We also cash tipped our server at Dinner, on top of the 10% service charge, because he did a fantastic job and was extremely polite and courteous. Your servers should not be subjected to complaints which have occurred due to issues out of their control - which is why we made comments politely at the time, and ensured our server knew we were extremely happy with his service.

The best restaurant in Scunthorpe, the food is unforgettable. The flavours, presentation and fresh ingredients are what sets this restaurant apart, I'm Italian and I can say that it's real Italian food. The staff are great, super professional and friendly. The price is not cheap, but it is very worth it. You have to pay well if you want quality food. I highly recommend it, I hope to return soon.

We had our Wedding Reception here and it was absolutely perfect. The food and service were incredible. Special thanks to Jenna (our wedding planner) for her time and attention to detail. We recently attended a 60th wedding anniversary celebration at San Pietro.Got to say it was first class.From arriving (easy parking),drink at the bar,then our function room all very good. Food was pre selected but that wasn't a problem. All very well presented and tasty.Staff were attentive and pleasant. All made for grand celebration get together. Would definitely recommend.

Went tonight with my cousin for the first time since lockdown and it was delicious food as have most of my visits, the staff are always kind and helpful.

Unfortunately due to covid restrictions a restaurant visit was off albeit the limited menu for room service or eat our in the beer garden was very good.Last orders for the kitchen was 19:30 as per covid rules but we managed to make this.Staff were terrific in all areas and a credit to the establishment.Rooms are outstanding especially in comparison to other hotels in the area even to the extend there are special type TV's at the end of the bath in some...lol.Good car parking available plus the location is central and only a 10min walk to the town centre.Definitely will be the hotel of choice for my next visit.

We ordered a cook at home fish set menu .From ordering to collection to cooking everything was organised and efficient. All components of the dishes were well marked and instructions very easy to follow.There was not one dish that wasn’t excellent.We were very impressed by the quality of the sauces and purée. Everything was perfectly seasoned there was nothing to add. Anyone could complete the very simple cooking. Next time I’m going to get my partner to do the cooking. It is that easy Do not hesitate to purchase. Also the portions are very generous. Excellent value. We will definitely be ordering again. My only fault is I didn’t discover it sooner .Well done San Pietro.Jane

Ordered a Burns night cook at home box for my parents. Beautiful presentation from the restaurant in the box it is packaged in, easy to follow instructions and the food was delicious!

Had a 3 course meal for two delivered. The meal cost over £80 including delivery. It arrived 25 mins late with no phone call to apologise and inform us it was delayed. This was unfortunate as it was my wife’s birthday. All the dishes were stone cold and required microwaving before we ate. We rang to chase up the meal when it was twenty minutes late, and again after we discovered it was cold. A staff member apologised but said the owners had gone home and would speak to us the following day to address the issues. No phone call has been forthcoming.We find this disappointing as we have dined at the restaurant many times and even got married there earlier in the year! I’ve recommended the restaurant many times to friends and colleagues, despite some occasions of poor service and professionalism from staff over the years. The standard of food is a undoubtedly some of the highest in the area but things need to change regarding service and professionalism. The relatively high price paid doesn’t offer value unless every aspect of the meal and experience is top notch. I can accept cold food and poor punctuality when I’m ordering a kebab but not when I’m supposed to be paying for a fine dining experience.

Took my family after lockdown 1.0. There was a smaller menu available and it was during the eat out to help out scheme.... This inspired San Pietro to charge £17.50 for a no meat pasta dish, in fact it was spaghetti, cherry tomatoes and a little stock, that's it. I was shocked that they'd decided to profit so much with a dish that cost less than £3 to make. Yes it was tasty but did I feel like they'd taken advantage of us and the scheme? Very much so. The decor is old, scratched and neglected, the toilets have certainly seen better days. On principal we won't be going here again. We went there to keep local businesses thriving, they saw us coming a mile off.

The new chef at home service is truly outstanding. Arrived on time, all in perfect condition and colder than a fridge! Each item had been beautifully prepared,and packaged , the instructions clear.. The result a true fine dining experience at home. I felt like a chef.. and the results did not disappoint, there are even pictures to help with plating to truly achieve the fabulous wow factor. Cant wait to receive our next one! What an amazing idea, the creative ideas at San Pietro not only in their food, but their organisation. Itself definitely puts them amongst the Michelin stars!

We visited your restaurant on Wednesday evening & in all honesty we were very disappointed. The food was what I would say is average for the restaurant you want to be & the service from the staff was a shambles. There was no personal interaction at any kind of level other than possibly the manageress who spoke to the tables who she wish she spoke to. One server actually dropped part of someone’s dish who landed underneath our table & then continued to serve them with missing food. I believe we spent more than what an average food bill was but to leave your restaurant and walk past three of your staff members who didn’t thank us for our custom or wished us good night was very poor. However our pictures explain the quality of the food served that night compared to Saturday night as our friends visited & had the same dishes. You can clearly see there is a massive inequality in the dishes.

We had the best evening with a Dine at Home box that we prepared ourselves with the ingredients given to us, it was fun and sooo tasty it made us feel so warm and wintery it was outstanding , we will be ordering more of these that’s for sure , San Pietro never fails us ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food was good dont get me wrong but it took an hour before we got our starters and 15 minutes before we got a drink. I dont understand why restaurants dont ask what you would like to drink when you first sit down. Too many menus from which to choose.

The food is amazing, all three of us were delighted with the order and the pork 3 ways is a particular highlight.The service left something to be desired. I would preface this by saying a lot of the staff seem young and I'm sure starting in the service world so I'm sure will learn. However, we were waiting over 30 minutes before our orders were taken, I declined wine 4 times yet the waiter poured it every time, and the attitude towards enforcing social distancing and the rule of six was non-existent (once you were inside the restaurant, at the door temperature checks and hand sanitiser were available).A party of twelve, seated as two sixes but clearly together, were loud and progressively more drunk and in the 3 hours we were there we saw no attempt to tell the party to keep the noise down or stop swapping tables. I understand this is difficult but when there is a 10pm curfew I don't think serving a clearly drunk and freely mixing larger than legal group shots and beers at 9.50pm is appropriate.

2nd visit with an overnight stay. Once again the food and service was exceptional. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Room was the icing on the cake, very modern, clean and spacious. Truly a delight.

Went as a party of 6 today for a special taster lunch . Greeted with safe hand sanitising gel, temperature taken and shown to to our table with no fuss. We were made to feel so safe , the staff were wearing visors but the friendliness showed through . The food was amazing , especially the rabbit ravioli . I would definitely recommend San Pietro for a truly unique experience . We will be back! Thanks to Piero and Michelle for a lovely dining experience.

A well overdue our time with overnight stay and meal and wow was not disappointed, always heard great things about this place so expectation was high for our first visit but they still managed to exceed it , staff were focussed , attentive and knowledgeable, food was out of this world , thank you for a wonderful evening, stay and breakfast, highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed, we will be back very soon x

First visit to this restaurant and will not be our last. Excellent service and meal. Temperature tested on arrival so we already felt at ease prior to sitting down. Tables were good distance apart. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Meal was lovely and we were not rushed through our courses. Restaurant even discounted the meal by the government reduced food tax which most restaurants are not passing on. Already recommended this restaurant to our friends and family. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
