Had a one night Sunday stay in Penrith. So glad this place was open on a Sunday! Delicious food! Good choice of drinks. Nice and warm inside 🥰

Love this little restaurant, this is the third time of visiting whilst staying in Penrith. Friendly, fast service and delicious good value food. Can’t fault it at all and hope to return soon.

Gave this restaurant a go after others were full. Found the staff and their service great, but the food well below average. Nothing we couldn’t make at home, either from packet or well under seasoned. Wouldn’t recommend, and won’t be going back - sorry!

We visited salsa while on holiday in the town for bank holiday. Walked in without a reservation, we was politely greeted it was super busy and even though we hadn’t made a reservation they fitted us in a little later on which we really appreciated, we had some drinks across the road while I table was ready. The food arrived ( lots of tapas) it was absolutely delicious all of it especially the prawns gambas pil pil and the sangria my favourite. End of the evening we was pleasantly surprised with the bill also unbelievably great value for money. The staff were so kind and welcoming even to the point we was stranded for getting home as no taxis in the area after 9pm, the lovely gentleman owner of salsa actually gave us a lift home and wouldn’t accept any money for doing so. Absolute act of kindness and hospitality, thank you so much for a perfect evening we will 100 per cent be coming back again xxxx

Lovely evening with family. Yummy food especially the ribs, jackets and burritos. I had a good Mojito and my family enjoyed the beers. Friendly staff.

Really friendly staff, nice location overlooking the Main Street, and lots to choose from on the menu. The salad with the mains was a nice touch too (but avoid eating the chilli on its own, I think I’m still recovering from the spice!).

The best Mexican I have had. My favourite place. Fresh flavours, unique ideas, really nice staff. Been a few times now and each time has been faultless. The environment is fun, and it’s a great place to eat. Loved everything from mains to desserts. Can’t wait to go back. Definitely worth booking ahead though as they fill up quick.

A great find, we came across Salsa while exploring the area. The service and food were excellent. Staff were so friendly and prompt, and have good advice about the menu. I'm normally too lazy to write reviews and only do so when the meal was excellent or really bad - Salsa was fantastic. I'm a regular visitor to Penrith and have considered giving Salsa a try on several occasions but for some reason never quite got there until last night. Staff were really friendly, there was a good atmosphere and the food was fantastic + reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

Turned up on spec and were greeted warmly and offered the last free table in the place. Buzzing atmosphere with people of all ages. The ribs were amazing with a sauce that left my taste buds tingling. Naked chilli chicken burrito was full of flavour Highly recommend. We’d return and try other dishes.

Last minute plans on a rainy Friday in January! We decided to head down to Salsa for a meal and some drinks and it was great. We had 2 pitchers of Mai Tai which were delicious, shared a starter and both had a main. Great food, lovely service and we both had a really nice night!

We decided to stop here on our way to Edinburgh for a nice meal to keep us going, and we were not disappointed. The staff are lovely, the service is fast and friendly, and the food is amazing. It is so much better than any chain Mexican restaurant, and far better than most places we have eaten before. The food was absolutely amazing, I couldn't find a bad thing to say about this place if I tried. It is very clean, and operate a one way system to help with social distancing. Fui el lunes ya que estaba en Penrith por una semana. Regresé el jueves y tuve lo mismo porque había sido realmente bueno. El jueves no fue tan bueno como sabía como si se hubiera calentado con poco cuidado y atención al plato. Se lo mencionó a la camarera que dijo que le diría algo al chef, que era diferente al chef del lunes. No hay comentarios de ellos después de eso. Desafortunadamente debido a esto, no lo recomendaría y no volvería otra vez. El chef del jueves lo echó a perder.

We had visited Salsa Mexican on a previous visit and the food was good. However at this visit we were extremely disappointed. There is a very limited vegetarian menu and I had opted for a few small plates. The nachos arrived and was inedible as it was just one large lump of nachos and cheese which you were unable to separate. The vegan fijitas were very plain and consisted of a large amount of peppers. Very very disappointing and they even tried to charge us for the nachos we had sent back!

We came here for a birthday party last week. The staff were friendly and good at their jobs. I had the nachos which are fab and the squid. The squid looks awful but it honestly tasted amazing with the mayo dip.. will definitely have them again! The garlic bread is also good. Second time here for a party and I will definitely be back!

What a fantastic find in the small town of Penrith. Grande nachos as a shared starter, good portion, lots of flavour, usual salsa, guacamole and sour cream. Both had chicken burrito that came with a side, great value, fabulous flavoured chicken, not too spicy, stuffed full and the accompanying retried beans & salad were delicious. Lovely service and setting was atmospheric and clean. Finished with churros, caramel, & ice cream - what’s not to like! Wish we lived nearer to go regularly.

Made it known to the waitress that one of the party loathed corriander. Lo and behold everything was covered in corriander. Asked for extra sour cream and even that was covered in corriander.Chilli's appeared inconsistently chopped. Several mouthfuls were incredibly hot the remainder were not. I know it's a Mexican restaurant but some warning about spice levels in general should be considered.

We were a family party with three chidren, two of them only two years old and into everything. The food was ok, but we were not impressed when the waitress tipped plates when she was collecting them and food spilt all over the table. Accidents do happen, but it took a long time to get the mess cleared up, we had to move a lot of it ourselves, to keep it away from 2yr. old fingers. We had to call her over twice before it was properly cleaned. I can only assume she was very new to the job.

We stumbled upon Salsa while staying in Penrith over the weekend and almost didn't give it a shot as we were just looking for a bar and not food, however it was exactly what we were looking for!

I am not very experienced with Mexican food but I did find this very tasty and not at all the somewhat stodgy fare that I seem to remember from previous experiences. The atmosphere was fairly pleasant and the service friendly and helpful.

Came here for my friends birthday and it exceeded expectations. The food is great, so much flavour and the portions are big! Staff are very friendly and attentive. As well tasty wine for a good price.

Went here for our Saturday date night. First time being here in about 3 years and I forgot how much I loved this place! We ordered some drinks. I had a tequila sunrise and it was delicious. My husband and I eat here regularly, it’s our go to place for date nights! We always enjoy the food, atmosphere and tequila cocktails! I’m gluten free and can eat lots of different things on the menu which is nice.

Family meal whilst camping near by as was too wet to cook outdoors. Pleased we did as food was very good. They squeezed four of us in and everything was tasty with just the right amount of kick. A good discovery

We have pooped in on the off chance a few times before but have never been lucky enough to get a table, yes we should book but that’s not always possible for us to plan ahead, So anyway we dropped in on a Saturday tea time and were lucky enough to get a table, we were served by a very helpful man who got us drinks and took our food order, we were served very quickly our nacho starter arrived and was delicious the dips were all lovely and fresh, the main courses were also lovely and fresh my other half had the chilli chicken tacos and myself I had the vegetable and goats cheese burrito both served with our choice of vegetable chips.

Do not come here for authentic mexican cooking... because we didn't see any. If you are happy with a jar of cheap long-life salsa and a bag of tortilla chips with some whipped avocado from Morrison's, you will be at home here. Don't expect the classic fajita dish to arrive on a sizzling platter with spicy strips of meat...expect a few chunks in a pale bland sauce. The 'mexican' rice was equally lacking in flavour. The draught beer ran out mid-evening, leaving a choice of 330ml bottles for close to £5. We left disappointed which is a real shame because the staff are friendly and it could be a great venue to meet up with friends.

Pensé que visitaría aquí, ya que siempre pasaba y me preguntaba cómo sería. Nos dieron una bienvenida encantadora y una mesa junto a la ventana. El servicio fue excepcional, nos atendieron muy bien y nada fue un problema. La comida era deliciosa, una buena selección y buenos tamaños de porciones para una buena relación calidad-precio. Me encantó el ambiente y la música de fondo con un cappuccino encantador para terminar. Sin duda volveremos! !

Fuimos el sábado por la noche y estaba muy ocupado. Nos llevaron a nuestra mesa y nos sirvieron con nuestras bebidas. El personal era excelente y no podía hacer lo suficiente para nosotros. La comida también fue excelente. Recomendaría este restaurante a cualquiera que quiera una comida de primera clase.

Fantástica comida familiar aquí anoche, personal realmente amable, no habíamos reservado y nos presentamos para encontrar que estaba lleno, uno de los empleados nos persiguió por la calle cuando obtuvieron una cancelación repentina. Tan contentos de haberlo hecho fue una comida brillante. Deliciosa comida y un fabuloso menú para niños # 2 que no comerá nada picante. Looking for healthy and fresh dinner possibilities we found this sweet bistro. We ordered some vegetable fajitas and salad with rice. Even though we were promised a "big bowl of salad", we only got a very small plate with some olives and a single piece of cucumber. There really wasn't much of a salad. The sauce, the rice and the fajitas tasted very good, beer and beer were nice too. The service was very friendly and correct. We would go there again!

Visited here last night had the pulled chilli beef enchiladas and a side Mexican rice (free) was ok plenty of taste but I’ve been spoilt with Mexican by going the best in the country (rancho pancho Dundee)

Cannot fault this restaurant, staff are always friendly and the variety of different food on offer is always tasty. Half price cocktail night on a Friday is also a bonus
