We have been twice in the last couple of days, so had four meals between us. The place is spotless, the staff are super friendly, the food was great, I loved the home made potato salad and coleslaw we got on each meal. Each dish had fresh salad on too, which was crisp and fresh. The views were amazing over the harbour.

We had the most delicious afternoon tea this afternoon in the tearoom. What a variety and selection of both sweet and savoury ( both hot and cold savoury ) - we were spoilt for choice. It was all delicious.😋 😋😋😋. Took the leftovers home with us too! Great friendly and efficient service too. Can’t recommend their afternoon tea highly enough. Book in advance & come hungry ! Enjoy the lovely view when you’re eating. Thank you to everyone at the tearoom. We look forward to returning.

This place is an excellent asset to the community and run by the community too it seems. Friendly staff serve up good food and drinks (licensed) and there’s outdoor seating with great views of the village and bay.. it also has a small shop which is useful and a connection hall which I guess is also good for the community. Lovely place..

This tea room was a surprise find for lunch. The food was delicious and freshly cooked, we had whitebait and salad- lovely. Gorgeous cakes too. We were so impressed with this lovely local facility for the villagers and a delight for tourists. The staff were lovely, very friendly and polite. I just had to buy some things from the shop as they had some lovely jewellery and I wanted to support this great facility. Although the weather was a bit grim, the cafe was busy. Fantastic!

A lovely spacious cafe overlooking the bay with a good menu and choice of cakes etc. Staff were friendly and there was a good choice of indoor and outdoor seating. Being sunny, we chose to sit just outside the door for our coffees and cakes. We were dismayed by the amount of "disposable" packaging this entailed, as we had not asked for takeaway and could happily and easily have taken the crockery back to the counter if required. Apparently any seats outside the building are classed as 'takeaway' and generate waste packaging (which we took away ourselves to recycle).

I'd already found the tearoom on Trip Advisor and had added them to our itinerary to visit when we went to the Isle of Whithorn. We had our 2 dogs with us, one of which is still only a puppy, although a large and vocal one at that! We arrived around lunch time and both ordered the Haddock & Chips which we could have with either garden peas or mushy peas. Service was very efficient and our food came out quickly. The staff were very attentive and made a fuss of our dogs and gave them some biscuits as well as water. Unfortunately our 8.5 month old Staffy X gulped the water down too quickly and was sick. We're really sorry about this, although my husband tried to clean up as much as he could. However, we were assured it wasn't a problem. We also decided to have cake before wandering on as they looked very tempting. We enjoyed our choices. Thank you to all the lovely friendly staff that work/volunteer here. We would definitely recommend a visit, if only for a tea/coffee and a cake.

We planned a day out on the Machars Peninsula, but soon realised the day before that there wouldn’t be be many places open with it being a Sunday! We made it to the Tearooms around 1.30 pm and were able to take a seat by the large panoramic window with views over the harbour. Stunning! My husband had the homemade lentil & veg soup and sarnie, which he said was excellent. I had a tuna cheese melt and chips (and fresh salad/crisps), which were also yummy. Our plates were empty very quickly! The service was brilliant, both our tea and lunch were prepared really quickly and the waitress and cook were very friendly and helpful. I thought with it being one of the few places open that it would be noisy, dirty and unwelcoming. It was so far from this, clean, bright and relaxing. I’d definitely recommend a visit here. Shame we were too full to try out the delicious cakes!

My wife and I call in to the cafe almost on a weekly basis, food is usually good with friendly staff. However today's visit left us wondering if we should go somewhere else. My wife ordered Baked potato with prawns in a mayo sauce, it arrived , the sauce was so runny it was almost spilling of the plate, what on earth had been done to it, we may never know, disappointed she returned it and ordered a soup, which proved nice and comforting. My usual fish and chips were also below parr, last weeks fish was lovely and fresh with a delicious crisp batter, todays was limp almost soggy and looked far from fresh, the arden peas also looked well past their date being multicoloured and shrivelled up. Oh dear no idea what was going on today but please sort it out.

We visited the tearoom twice during a recent stay in the area: once for coffee & cake and once for lunch. We were more than happy with all the anti covid procedures being put into practice there. We had to wait only a minute or so to be seated and received a friendly welcome. We were asked to fill in a track and trace form as we were sitting in. The tables are more widely spaced than before, but there is still plenty of indoor seating available. Everything was spotlessly clean, and we saw tables and chairs being thoroughly cleaned after customers had departed. There is a one-way system through the cafe. We were seen to quickly and although there were quite a few other customers our food arrived very promptly and was delicious. Payment by card was quick and easy. There is also a lot of seating in the garden area in front of the cafe, and folks wanting to eat outside have to collect their food from a specified location inside. All in all we were very happy with our visit and have no hesitation in warmly recommending this lovely cafe.

We stopped for a quick visit in the village and were hoping to get a bite to eat. This cafe looked more appealing than the Steam Packet in our opinion, and had a decent view of the water/harbour. Unfortunately, the cafe stopped doing food at 2.30pm. There were some cakes, which were fine (we were pretty peckish though) but it was overall a very slow process, and one that could have been better. Although working hard, the staff seemed to be a little flappy with every customer. We were given a number for our order, and waited around 15 minutes, despite only ordering 2 cakes and cold drinks (which were available at the till). It wasn’t particularly busy either. To put it in perspective, I decided against asking for a bottle of water last minute - in case that caused spontaneous combustion. I know it’s hard work getting to grips with the new measures, wearing masks etc, but I don’t think this was the main cause for slowness/us not enjoying the experience more to be honest. We didn’t feel that welcome or well looked after, particularly when told “the kitchen has just shut” without any empathy at all (perhaps a new staff member, or the mask was hiding any apologetic body language or smile?!)Would recommend bringing cash with you as a back up, as there seemed to be some trouble with the card machine (think it’s only just started being used there).Overall, fine for a cuppa/cake if you’ve got time to wait (and the patience of a Saint - ideally St Ninnian). The proper meals may be great, but make sure you get there before 2.30pm (maybe even earlier if you want to make it to the till before the sun sets/Scotland becomes independent).

Food good, and prices fairly reasonable. But requires better stock management... We'd travelled over 180 miles to see my Aunt, and then a further 32 from hers to visit this tearoom. Everyone had their order in mind, only to then be told there were only Fruit Scones left, no Plain.I hate visiting a tearoom and being told there are no plain scones. It seems it's just one of those things that shouldn't happen. Then Karma struck my Dad however... After gloating that he was fine as they still had Fruit Scones, they came back and apologised, that there were no fruit scones left either. So I'm not posting to be negative, or to put people off. On the contrary the views are amazing, and the staff lovely.Give it a visit and see for yourself. And hopefully by then, and them reading this, you will be able to get a Scone with jam and cream (plain or fruit, as you prefer), whilst admiring the wonderful view across the Harbour and Bay!

This place saved us when the Steam Packet Inn turned out to be a disappointment. Lovely friendly and accommodating staff. They appeared to be still getting a hang of the place but this added to the charm. The place looks brand new. Excellent range of food for the hungry breachcomber and the added bonus of a glass of wine or can of beer. (I recommend the Pinot). From breakfast to tea and everything in between, it cannot be beaten. The tiny post office shop side had essentials. I look forward to eating there again and Seeing how it grows.

Lovely place with a great view. Staff friendly enough but refused to give my dog a drink of water "we're not allowed but you will find a bowl outside." There was no bowl outside. There were nice "dogs welcome" pictures on the door but we didn't feel that welcome.

Overlooks the picturesque harbour in the lovely Isle of Whithorn. Great to sit in or out here in all weathers. Great coffee and homemade cakes and good lunches. Also houses the post office and a small shop and craft shop. Very friendly and welcoming.

Saint Ninians Tearoom is opposite the bay and has great views over the bay. The dining area is bright and clean, the staff are very friendly and the food was very good. We both had the haddock and chips served with peas, I then tried the avocado and courgette cake. All very nice.

Stopped for a snack and found the most fabulous home made pavlova served in a large portion. Very nice cafe attached to the church with a shop and some gifts to buy. Certainly worth stopping at if you are passing by.

Ideal location in a lovely village. Good parking and great views. Bright, clean and modern with local information and craft items. Advantage that dogs allowed. Good menu with specials on board. Our meals were good when arrived, but this cafe is not for those expecting prompt service. Also my Latte could've been hotter. Overall very good and happy to patronise as it's a community run establishment .

This is a modern, community owned café in the most beautiful setting overlooking the peaceful harbour on the Isle of Whithorn. A limited menu of good quality food is offered, with everything freshly prepared. The service is very friendly and delivered at a leisurely pace which suites the tranquil setting. A shop selling local crafts and provisions is attached, as is the community cinema.

A lovely warm welcome from the Lady serving us and so far the best breakfast I have ever had in Scotland (and I've had a few). Cafe is spotlessly clean and prices are fair, well worth a visit in my honest opinion.

This cafe served the worst scone I have ever had / didn't have. (and that's saying something as I'm in my 70s and have had a few in my time. You could build a house with a few of them. Inedible expensive rubbish. It came in a paper bag, no plate and a wooden disposable knife which struggled to cut it. The coffee was served in a paper cup. But was drinkable. Cost over £13 for two coffees and two inedible scones. I am disgusted and will definitely won't be back

Visited the Frothy this morning for the first & very last time as the cafe is closing. Whilst the cafe was comfortable the coffee wasn’t the best ever tasted and we were stunned at the price! Compared to other coffee houses close by it was surprising; could this be a reason they are not finding it profitable?
