Been coming here as a child, still has lovely dimsum and has a really nostalgic feeling. Try their prawn rice rolls and Thai style chicken feet they're my lost favourite dishes for dimsum. As for main dishes I always come here and get my roasted duck and beef ho fun from here. This is the best dimsum in southeast london..

November 2023 I went to century restaurant in Greenwich, I rounded up the bill so as to pay a bit service charge. The waiter was polite and didn't protest. Unlike the previous time when I paid a fraction of the 15% service charge, the waiter threatened to take a photo of my car registration number and send it to Greenwich county council. These waiters had no manners and would openly argue with customers despite the fact that the bill says Service charge is discretionary. Last Sunday, I paid cash £70 to clear the bill of £66. The waiter said, "You're not paying the service charge 15%?". Again, hassle in this restaurant. I put down £1 coin extra, He said, "My manager will query me for this." I told him that the word DISCRETIONARY meant just that and we left. This thuggish greedy waiter was so rude. They already increased the price of King Prawn Fried noodles by adding £2 since November. MY ADVICE: Give half the charge and ask if the waiter knows the meaning of Discretionary. Ignore their rudeness!

We have been going to Saikei for 10 years. We have always been impressed by the authenticity as shown by the large number of Chinese patrons. However the place has gone downhill recently, in terms of food quality, value for money and service. The final straw was being fined £100 x 2 for parking there. We drove two cars and weren’t adequately warned of the need to pay, either in the car park or restaurant. The restrictions applied even at 8pm on New Year’s Day!

Very convenient location as we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. Excellent food. Great choices on the menu. Would recommend to friends. Would love to try again. However when we sat down our chopsticks were removed and we weren’t given bowls to eat our dinner from. All other customers had both. I asked for chopsticks but didn’t bother with the bowl. We felt a bit excluded.

Update It’s our second time eating here and like before food and service is amazing. Especially auntie who gave me lots of prawn and fish crackers. Super sweet. We ate here last Dember 17 for my partners birthday around 2pm? We were seated right away and the service we got was great. I was skeptical to try this place because of the negative comments I read here. But what we experience is great, a factor probably because we did not eat here during rush time. We ordered dimsums, chowmien, spare ribs and salt and pepper squid. Everything tastes so good! I love that there chopstick were like the authentic one. Service and atmosphere was great. Definitely will go bacm and hopefully will have the same good experience. I forgot, they give you oranges which were super yummy as it is sweet.

Very good Chinese food but quite unfriendly staff who seemed put out that we were eating late. Quite expensive but thankfully very tasty and generous portions. A hefty service charge added of 25% was I felt was excessive. The restaurant is outdated and grubby, stained carpets but we gave it a try as it was very late and we needed food, they accommodated our late table, we left well fed. Felt extremely unwelcome the SECOND I walked in. After a long day of travelling I was excited to get some food. The restaurant closes at 10:30pm and I walked in approx 9:40pm I was met with a waiter hurrying over to me and saying: “we close at half 10.” I said “yeah that’s fine.” He huffed and sat me down & walked away. I have never in my life walked into a restaurant & been made to feel so unwelcome. I picked up the wrong menu on the table & it was soon snatched out of my hand & told it was the wrong one. Everything was so aggressive & unnecessary!! I felt like an inconvenience that had ruined their night! I ordered the prawn toast & the Singapore vermicilli. Both dishes extremely poor. Prawn toast was sour - definitely not fresh fish used - left it didn’t eat it. Vermicilli had barely any meat - was all noodles & veg. I also finished my drink & wasn’t offered another Save your money trust me.

I had heard so many positive reviews about this place, especially the dim sum which, unfortunately, isn't served in the evenings so we couldn't have it. For me, the food was bog standard, gloopy, greasy and totally uninspiring. It is also overpriced, working out at £40 per person, including just one bottle of white wine, so very little alcohol. My advice would be, unless going during the day for dim sum, pop to your local, regular Chinese, as going here is definitely not something special.

Really disappointing. It wasn’t our first time here. We have been here many times before and the food and portion was always perfect. But this time around I really think we got scammed . We always order the same food so we saw it straight away the differences. We ordered the selection of three meat with rice on the side and the portion was super small and costs us 26 pound alone not counting the price for the rice. We ate 1/3 of the food we normally would eat and ended up paying almost the same. Really disappointed I don’t think we will be back.

One of the better dim sum places in London. Loved the old school canto vibe of the restaurant. Very popular with locals - there were queues at 11am. Make sure to get here before to avoid the queues. Overall, the dimsum was of a very high quality. The chive and prawn dumplings were some of the best I've ever had. The steamed ribs were very good too, along with the cheung funs and turnip cake. The shanghai soup dumplings were slightly below average, and the congee was slightly underseasoned. Chilli oil could've had a bit more complexity. It just tasted spicy with nothing else going on. Service was friendly and continued that way despite the huge volumes of people that they're dealing with. Would highly recommend going if you can drive to Greenwich!

Poor customer service, some food ok but prep & hygiene questionable! - Not my regular dim sum place but decided to try after a few years as we happened to be local. Went for lunch on a monday so it was quiet but upon arrival all the servers didn't even acknowledge us so first impression wasn't great. - After finally being seated although there were only about 10 tables aside from us it was difficult to get someone's attention to take our order. - While waiting for the food I noticed the spoon set on my place had some crusty old food stuck on it, not entirely shocked at this point. Luckily there were spare cutlery on the table so didn't have to go through the hurdle of getting someone to change it. We gave all our cutlery a good rinse with hot water before using it! - After browsing the menu we noticed that they don't serve deep fried squid which is a dim sum staple and a favourite of my daughter's so that was disappointing. - The dim sum we ordered was generally good but decided to top up with an order of ho fun stir fried with 3 roast meats.. wish we hadn't as the dish was strangely sweet and the ho fun wasn't particularly hot considering it had just come out of the kitchen. To top it off my mum also found a piece of plastic styrofoam in it! - Everything combined and what appears to be a minimum charge of £3.50 for parking regardless of the duration I won't be returning to this place.

At first I thought I walked into the the wrong place, the restaurant? If that's what you would call it is very dated. The carpet is coming up and for a Friday evening there wasn't very many people. I found the food to be overpriced, eg the mixed starters couldn't be ordered unless there was two people, and when it came out you literally got 1 rib, 1spring roll, 1 prawn toast 1 chicken satay for £10 each (£20 total) it was daylight robbery. The other starter was just as bad, X4 small prawn balls (had minced prawn....or what I think it was?? Didn't taste much like prawns ..I used to having a whole prawn in batter or breadcrumbs) I was disappointed that I actually didn't bother ordering a main and went to a different Chinese restaurant!! The service was atrocious! Nobody greeted us at the door although it said "please wait here" After a few minutes we went into the main restaurant and caught a servers attention to be seated. After 20 mins nobody had come to take our drinks order, so AGAIN had to call a server over to take our order! On the plus side the mains my friends had were nice, however we couldn't wait to leave, I definitely would NOT come back here! Had to ask twice to get the bill, had to ask twice to be bought water... TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! PLEASE Avoid!!!

*Affordable and authentic transitional style dim sum, but please have no expectation on service and atmosphere (as you will with old traditional style restaurants in Asia). We have been coming to this restaurant for dim sum / lunch nearly every Saturday. It can get busy during Saturday lunch and you will need to queue for 20-30 minutes. Service is close to none (be prepared), you get attention if you ask for them, but otherwise they just leave you to enjoy your meal. The place is also very dated but you go there for authentic traditional style dim sum, not a fancy candle light meal ;) My must order dishes are: 49, 6, 61, 48, 29, 1.

If I could I would give zero stars. Incredibly racist staff who ended up making my 9 year old niece cry at her own birthday dinner. After being forced to pay for all food upfront, we simply queried about the service charge then added to our additional drinks we wanted to pay for at the end. We still paid for this and as the waiter was getting our payment decided to tell us we would no longer be welcome there as the manager heard us talking about the service charge. When I then told the waiter this was Incredibly inappropriate to do at the table, he didn't even apologise. I then spoke to the manager and told him how inappropriate that was he simply shrugged his shoulders and when we even mentioned my niece was crying he again shrugged his shoulders. When I said 'how can you not even offer an apology' he then decided to say 'OK then, sorry'. I believe this treatment was down to the fact we were a Black family as we could see how the staff treated others in the restaurant. Last time we were here was 3 years ago and both service and food was below average (compared to that from the past years) However we came back to try dim sum at Saikei again on 9th April and was pleased to find that the restaurant has improved on food seasoning and service was friendlier. However, prices have increased by at least £1 to £3 per dish. (See menu photos to compare). Teapot is charged at £1.50 per person. You will also have to ask for the chilli oil & sauce/other table condiments. The seating system is by you come in & tell front of house person in charge how many people dining and will then be handed a ticket number (keep this safe as you will need to give it to the person calling your number to be seated). There are a few seats in the waiting area. NOTE: it is not 1st come, 1st serve. Other groups or people will be seated before you even if they came after you as they go by the vacant table by number of seats/people: a big group may be seated before a couple or vice versa. Plenty of (pay online) onsite parking - instructions are clearly displayed outside, around the restaurant & on the menu. But if you can walk (about 10 mins), you can park in the nearby Odeon/pizza hut/B&Q/IKEA car park (free parking for 5hrs every day). Ordering is by marking the quantity required by the dish you want on the paper provided once seated. Any other dishes (not on the dim sum menu but you know is on the dinner menu) may be requested when the waiter/waitress comes to take the ordering paper. The bill has automatically added the service charge on it. Sakei also has takeaway service for their food/dim sum as well as the special whole suckling pig.

The food was delicious however there was a problem at the end when bill arrived and our group refused to pay the discretionary charge of £10.00. There were 2 separate bills as it was a large group of us. The other descretionary charge totalled £20. The waitress stated that if we did not pay this her wages would be reduced and then also stated that if we visited again they might refuse to serve us. My Sister then paid half the charge and my Father In Law paying a £5 tip to which the waitress stormed off complaining to her Collegues. She had actually said that her Manager had put these rules in place. When we asked to speak to the Manager, she stated that he wasn't present. The dishes were already quite pricy, 2 dishes had to be returned because they were too salty then we had to endure this waitress with such an unprofessional attitude. I have never been to a restaurant where if one choses not to pay the discretionary charge one is threatened with not being served if one returns. 😳👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Food ok. Not impressed they started charging for parking £3.50 and also service charge on food. Both I disagree with so I will not be going there so frequently anymore

Authentic and tasty, never disappoints. Parking no longer free, so don't forget to pay parking online. Only place I will go this side off London for Dim Sum.

Visited on Saturday for lunch. The food prices has gone up drastically for dim sum and almost doubled in price! Food is generally nice but very costly for lunch. We usually order alot of food and used to pay around £25 per person and now its gone up to £45 per person for the same amount of food. Rated 3 star based on overpriced cost for just above average food.

Parking changes by demand or whatever they feel like charging. Today it attempted to charge me £25 or £31.25 / hour.

Favourite place for dim sum in London. Can get quite busy and we always park in the B&Q car park but always well worth it 👍

Food is excellent! Authentic, local Chinese restaurant with a great range of options for vegetarians. Place gets very busy but well worth the wait.

I rarely give poor review on google map, but this place is very under staffed, staff are rude and careless. I suggest avoid this place. The first time tried was about a year ago, they missed our order and we (with kids) were sitting there for an hour without food, when I complaint, the manager didn't do anything but tell me to speak quietly. So I thought I will never go again. Until last Saturday, after kid's piano lesson, we were very hungry and decided to give another try. I instantly regretted. While we were sitting next to the bar, I see at least two staffs picking food (not customer dish, but the one in the bar) to their mouth before they bring our food to our table. and they did not even bother wipe their hand and the food were still in their mouth when they bring food to our table. I was so disgusted. And I also found a hair in the dish (steamed ribs). AVOID this place!

Very good for dim sum but not great for evening meals. Don't forget there's a 12.5% service charge and you have to pay for parking.

Un amigo y yo nos detuvimos aquí para almorzar. Cada uno tenía un almuerzo especial. La mía era pato y rodajas de cerdo con fideos en una sopa. Era un plato de rodajas de pato con fideos fritos. Ambos

I'm Chinese and I rate their Sweet and Sour pork when you eat it there fresh (before covid), it's crispy and the portion sizes here for everything are AMAZING. They're huge. My boyfriend loves Singapo
