Saffron Kitchen in Waltham Forest

The food was very poor. The lamb curry was full of bones, very little meat if any. The water bottle was dirty, it was very sticky too. I am very disappointed by the quality of the food and hygiene at this place. When you go to a restaurant that charges £16 for a curry, you expect decent food and cleanliness, but this wasn't the case here.

I would've given 4 or 5 stars but my table had new glasses but one of them had coke clearly left inside tiny bit so it was clearly forgotten to be washed. So we told the waiter and got given a fresh clean glass. Food was nice but a bit higher price then before and my ferrora richer ilkshake was really milky so there clearly was not enough chocolate as at the end it had just whipped cream. Overall lamb chops were nice and lamb curry was really good but the quantity was fairly low. We spent about £80 so it wasn't too expensive however could have been better. I probably would just get lamb curry and naan bread and ask them to make my milkshake less milky. Came back again and it was horrible I would give it 1 star from 4. The lamb shank was saltless The chicken even though I said very very spicy he made one good and the other without spice. They mixed my portions of bread as one instead of giving them separate as I bought 2 portions of naan bread and the lamb pieces were flooded with BBQ sauce. Chicken quarter leg was nice my niece said but won't ever come back to this place it's gone under not sure if management changed. Customer service was not great either.

first off let me preface this by saying we went on eid day, so the two hour wait time is slightly justifiable, however when asked if they took bookings they said no but when we arrived, other people had bookings which was a little weird. the food was extremely good, especially the lamb chops 9/10 would recommend, the service was meh, the waiters did forget a few stuff but that isn’t too much of a problem. the drinks were also really meh but the food was good.

I travelled 2 hours during rush hour traffic (all the way from West London) on 31st of March 2024 at 7pm and they were closed. Before coming, I checked Google Maps and it was marked as open + their Instagram was as normal with no posts indicating they’d be closed. Absolutely ridiculous and poor from management. They had one damn job of updating opening times that would’ve taken seconds. This one failure means they’ll lose thousands from me in coming months.

Wow! The flavours are absolutely bang on! All the dishes were tasty and we didn’t have to wait for long and they had plenty of space and we even got a private room for 14 of us. Their fish curry and prawn dish was amazing. The grill platter, Lamb shank and Noodles were among the best as well. Very satisfying. It does get busy though. We Plan to go again soon. Flavours were authentic. You must try

I've dined here a few times and the food is delicious. There's a very rude and grumpy uncle that's incredibly off putting at the door. Tonight they really messed things up, I pre-ordered iftar from them at 3pm (to E7) via uber eats and they cancelled on me at iftar time. My guest was from Japan and I was looking forward to feeding them this. Tried calling them 4 times and they didn't answer. Terrible service!

Booked online for Iftar , it was closed when we arrived. No notice on the website whatsoever. Ruined the day for us we had to find last minute arrangements. I’m sure many people went through this problem too.

This is restaurant is amazing the food is delicious 😋 it's third time going. All I am saying is the best Indian restaurant I have ever want.

Overall a very good experience. Second time going there. I am not for one to go to a curry based restaurant, but their curries are good, mixed grill wasn't too heavily masala flavouring based and everything was cooked well. Went with the whole family and the restaurant is setup up nicely for families and couples

Amazing food. The butter chicken is too die for, and their masala chips are top tier. All their food is really nice overall. The venue is clean, the atmosphere is good, and the service is top-notch. Food is well priced, too.

A very long wait which was expected. Recieved one starter, then waited another 30 mins for the rest of the starters and mains. Food was decent.

As well presented as the food looked in some of the pictures on the website the food quality was appalling. There was no balance of flavours in the food the curry and the meats being very unbalanced. Indian cuisine is spicy yes but not to the point where there is such unnecessary oil and spice. Me and my partner also ordered a green salad and it was like they just gave her raw ingredients. And the quality of the sliced onions this was really bad yet as for the naan bread was extremely dry. The food we ordered took extremely long and was brought in the incorrect order and we didn't have much of a good experience. The management of the kitchen kindly needs to have a rework cause this is disappointing.

Come here after very long time and I must say the food is always good. Service on point and free parking at the back of restaurant has lots of parking spaces 2024 update: Considering that it has been quite some time since I last went to this restaurant, I made the decision to go back there in the year 2024. While I was there, I placed an order for garlic naan, butter chicken, masala chips, and a meat curry. In general, the quality of the butter chicken and masala chips was disappointing. They do not know how they used to prepare it; it is possible that they changed the recipe in order to save money on supplies; however, I was disappointed in the outcome. Will make another attempt in the future when they raise the standard, but don't expect that to happen very soon.

Visited it recently, food is good , achari chicken was yummy but biryani's rice were really plane , dessert and pani puri was top notch.. staff was really good. Was a bit crowded due to weekend but was an amazing experience will definitely visit again

Loved the food here! We ordered chicken tikka masala, mixed grill, chana masala, chicken biryani and lastly the spinach and potato dish. We loved them all. The food came quite quick even though it was a Saturday evening. The waiters are very helpful and very attentive. Next time I’d like to try some new dishes but very happy with our selection for now!

The service was very good! I liked the lady that served us...I was abit disappointed with the food as the taste has changed and has gone more on the sweet side...they also chicken thigh more than breast which I don't eat...I hate chicken thigh. But overall it was nice...food could be better.

Good food, nice drinks. Very busy but managed well. The dessert wasn't too good. The ice cream was re-frozen. Other than that, we had a lovely evening

It is a shame as this place really has potential. I came here before to watch a talk from a respectable scholar and thought i had to come back for dinner with some friends. I did just that today and I ordered £110 worth of food for my friends and I. The mixed grill I ordered had some lamb ribs however they were completely spoiled. Vivid blue fungus inside the meat. I mentioned it to staff who literally apologised and said that’s not right and the manager and chef came out to tell me it was because of the bone marrow …. This was of course nonsense but for the sake of the meal and his face I forgave him. I showed the picture to some more friends and everyone had confirmed the fungus (I really didn’t have a doubt to begin with). I’m avoiding posting the picture as it is foul and I actually don’t want to ruin a business. I wouldn’t have even wrote this review had they of been a little more honest or simply struck the item off the bill (I never asked for any sort of compensation, but my tongue and smiled away).Unfortunately I’m in the toilet writing this review and have been in and out for the past two hours in pain. Bare in mind I’ve not had to see a doctor or had anything of the sort for years! I ask you all to please make sure you check the meat before you eat!

Food is simply authentic with amazing staff always ready to help even when it’s full hose. I guess it comes from the owner of restaurant both so humble and cheerful. I have been to this restaurant before. This time visited again for a Christmas dinner from my workplace. Food was great as usual, service was great as well. Very nice waiters. The restaurant was full yet they have been able to provide food and service without much waiting. The price was reasonable. Free parking available behind the restaurant. Wish to return again.

Heard about this place long time ago, only visited very recently. It was a very busy Saturday evening but we didn’t wait too long as it was only for 2, however going there in large group could make you wait a bit longer. Service was great, decor was decent and the food was absolutely delicious, especially the lamb chops and the lamb bhuna curry that we had. The pricing was ok I won’t complain about that. Highly recommended and I will return again for sure.

Undoubtedly, this is the best Indian restaurant in London. I held my 40th birthday party at Saffron Kitchen Lea Bridge, and it was an incredible experience. From the exquisite cuisine to the impeccable service and the elegant décor, my family and friends had an unforgettable time. Their signature masala chips were a particular favorite of mine. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this restaurant; you won't regret it.

This is a must visit for everyone who lives in the area. The restaurant is quite big and can accommodate couples as well as big groups. On the weekends is always busy however I never had to make a reservation, you simply wait no more than 10/15 min and they easily accorate you. I dine there with friends and we always had a great experience with the food, that offers meat, fish and vegan and vegetarian options. Here you can order alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. This restaurant has 2 restrooms and a prayer room for man and one for women. The staff is friendly. I recommend it!

A bustling restaurant serving amazing dishes. Great amount of spice. Friendly staff. The food is a bit too pricey for a classic takeaway curry so would recommend eating in for the full experience. Love it here and can’t wait to go back.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience with delicious food, but we encountered an issue where most of the dishes we ordered had more bones than meat, making it a bit of a challenge to find the meat amidst the bones. Nevertheless, the flavors were delightful. Additionally, the restaurant was quite noisy, and in order to be heard, we had to raise our voices, inadvertently contributing to the overall din in the dining area. It added a touch of unintentional hilarity to the evening. 😄

Drinks twice more expensive compare to other restaurants!!! Meals are aprx 30% more expensive than other restaurants, nothing specialnot much selection.

Ordered take out and oh my god it was delicious. I've been searching for the best chicken tikka in London and I think I've found it. This is going to be my go to place! Also ordered the paneer tikka masala - absolutely delicious too!

The foods are brilliant! I can tell it’s mostly Kashmiri menu which I love and it has a section for indo-Asian, I would totally recommend Bao buns and dhamaka. I like how they present Tandoori chai like a little show and entertainment and it was sure send a warm sweet sensation down the throat. I came here for my birthday treat and came back again few days after! Avoid pani puri at all cost as the money isn’t worth spending on that

Saffron catered for our wedding reception and the food was amazing - everything from the canapés to the dessert! Nasser was a great help throughout the process, even helping us to select the menu. The preparation, set up and service on the day was excellent!

Went to Saffron kitchen for a family dinner. The food was really tasty, the service was brilliant, the table setting amazing and the price was decent. The owner and his son were really nice and accommodated our requests with no issues. Highly recommend this restaurant for family, friends, couples.

Excellent Indian restaurant, one of the best in London. There’s a reason it’s packed even on weekdays. A great variety of dishes with each curry having a unique taste. Food is presented well and with care. To top it all off the prices are extremely reasonable. Although it’s a bit out of the way there is plenty of parking so it’s an easy place to drive to and enjoy an evening out. The highlights for me were the Ras Malai Cake and the Chaat Platter. Both were presented well and tasted amazing!

It was my first day there, the person that was serving me wasn’t happy to recommend me anything and she seemed annoyed that I was asking for her recommendation. I ended up getting biryani rice which I thought was the safest option it was ok the lamb was nice soft but there was too much oil at the bottom of the container I couldn’t finish it. I got peshwari Nan bread that was incredible. I would go back to saffron chicken and try other dishes.

Decent food. Nice Daal chawal. Found a bone in the kebab portion which was a bit disappointing but the manager didn't charge me for it. (I felt to be honest he could of done a bit more considering it could of been really bad if I choked on it). Overall the food was nice, but the bone definitely drops it a star.

Very very delicious Indian food being served here. They have wide variety of menu selection which is great. We ordered pretty much everything on the menu and every single food came out amazing. Best service from waitress as well. Price is proportionate to food sizing. Will definitely come by again without a doubt. They also did not put a service charge on our receipt despite having 10ppl on our table. An honest gesture.

The malai seekh kebabs were absolutely disgusting. Lamb achari gosht was okay although didnt taste like achari that much. Dahi puri was amazing and fried ice cream with chocolate was good too. 3 stars as not exactly cheap with average food mostly
