Ideal spot to call in during a walk. We had drinks and cake both good quality at a reasonable price. When the weather permits, sitting outside by the falls is relaxing.

Well placed at the end of the famous Coffin Route and handy access to Rydal Water and Grasmere. Food is excellent with good service.

We had walked Rydal Water for a couple of hours and were going for coffee. We usually go across the road, but decided to go and sit in this lovely garden and try the café. We managed to find a seat outside in the garden. (There were several benches and some lounger type chairs with foot stools! They looked comfy!) My daughter and I went inside to use the toilet which is down some stairs. Shut the door at the top and there is a glass door and you can feel vulnerable if somebody else comes in, which was quite funny. We went into the café to order, but had to wait around 10 minutes as the lady was on her own and still had three orders to go, so we took a seat. It's a very small space, but there is a lot going on, there are teas, coffees, cake, small snacks such as toasties, etc. There was also a box of tomatoes which you could help yourself to! We ordered coffees and cakes for 4 of us which took a few minutes, but all very nice and I felt the prices were alike other places that we visit. We sat in the garden for around 45 minutes, just taking in the garden and it's very chilled atmosphere. The only criticism if I had one was I personally wasn't keen on a large dog sleeping in a bed next to the café counter, but that's because I don't like dogs. Otherwise, nice little place with a lovely garden.

This little cafe is a hidden gem. The garden is beautiful and even on the wet day we visited it was lovely to sit by the river. We had a vegan cheese and pickle toastie and a ploughman’s with vegan cheese. Both were tasty and reasonably priced. Soya milk mocha was also yummy. Gillie is lovely and makes you feel really welcome. We will definitely be back.

I live just along the road and having this cafe here is great when I just want someone else to make me a nice coffee. I can sit in the peaceful garden, by the river and just switch off in the sunshine for as little or as long as I like. Cakes are particularly nice and service always with a smile and a laugh. Beginning to wonder life before my little 'mini escape' garden

Called in for a quick drink and cake; and totally balled over by the friendly reception, great drinks and food on offer, in very charming surroundings. A new business venture which is focussed on delivering friendly service and great quality food with a smile, both to eat in and take aways. We even left with a present for my Father, a locally made pot of Orange and Whisky marmalade. We got several hiking tips and followed one which was the "Coffin trail" back from Rydal to Grasmere. Great route. Many many thanks, we hope to call again. TimK

For a Tuesday it was wonderfully busy. Lovely staff and great food. Definitely worth a try. The aubergine parmigiana was lovely. I would say the vodka sauce could be a little thicker but it was still very tasty!! Definitely will be back 😊

Great little find, basic but wholesome food. Great cakes and the chai latte was fab. There are some waterfalls right next to it so lovely to sit outside listening to the water enjoying a tea and cake.

The cafe is nice, as are the hot chocolates but the staff are rude, unfriendly and not welcoming. Speak to you like you’re an idiot, don’t explain the menu and ruined the visit. Wouldn’t return.
