Runa Take Away in Woking

Had an excellent take away on a Friday night, perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spices in each dish. The lamb madras and chicken dupiaza were especially delicious. Plus the delivery is always on time by the happy courteous drivers. Our family have been having take aways from Runa for many years and it never disappoints.

First time ordering from here - I was attracted by the other decent reviews - so figured I'd try out one of their signature dishes, Lamb Sikander, coupled it with Tarka Dall and a Garlic Naan. They threw in a free papadom and onion salad! Large chunks of tender lamb and al dente okra in a flavoursome medium tomato sauce, and shavings of fresh ginger - so tasty! Naan was properly garlicky and you could tell they used fresh garlic. Everything arrived much sooner than I expected as well. I reckon Iight have toake this a regular thing every time I'm visiting the area :)

I ordered food from this shop for the first time and the food was really delicious. I never thought that they have such good and quality food. If you don't try it, you must try it. You won't regret it. Also, the driver was very kind.😉👍

Runa is our go to Indian takeaway. It's well priced, always fresh and tastes great! My wife loves the website as it breaks down dishes based on spice level, which is really useful if you're not into things too spicy. They also offer a loyalty card system, which means you can save some money the most you eat there.

Take Away so can't comment on the restaurant. Good - chicken dishes and sides were tender and flavour was good. Tasty rice including fried rice options. Bad - Lamb dish, meat was tough which was a shame as flavour was good (if on the mild side). Naan breads were chewy and flavourless. Such a shame as presentation, promptness and some of the flavours were good but the chewy lamb really spoiled one of the dishes. The Naan breads seemed to be old/stale/chewy. Can't forgive the non-tender meat so won't be using again.

I enjoyed a very tasty, plentiful take away whilst away fro work. The staff were friendly and the food prompt. I could barely move after finishing the flavoursome food!!!

The Runa is a top class Indian takeaway, this establishment has been open for many years and they certainly know how to cook and the spices and ingredients they use are high end and tasty, the lamb and chicken especially. Also the prices are very reasonable for the excellent quality of food.

Hands down the best Curry house I have ever had a takeaway from. Cannot fault anything and the purée breads are amazing! If this was a restaurant then my god it would be a huge success. Recommend to anyone and can now class myself as a regular.

Ordered the chicken jomka last night. It was delicious. Every item is cooked fresh, and has it's own distinctive taste. By far the best takeaway (Indian or otherwise) I have ever had. Recently won the award for the best reviews in the UK, and deservingly so. Staff are friendly and will cook to specific taste, or dietary preferences.

We have lived in Byfleet for 15 years and this is only the second time we have ordered a curry from here. The first time was the last time we ordered a curry. The good news is that that you can whole heartedly accept that after eating many many curries in the area this is hands down, by far, the absolute best. The bad news is that for some completely unfathomable reason we had never ordered a curry from here in 15 years until recently. As long as these guys are still running the place I will not be getting a curry from anywhere else. Great food

I would just like to say thank you so much for preparing a wonderful takeaway meal on New Year's Eve. Everything was perfect and all our guests thoroughly enjoyed their meal I am fully aware that NYE was an incredibly busy night for you all, which makes it even more impressive that everything (and it was a large order for 9 people) was ready for collection bang on the time agreed.

Very small hidden takeaway opposite Blue Anchor Pub in byfleet. Food is tasty. Great service. Also a rewards programs using Runa Stickers on order over 12 pounds. Delivery also available.

I have used this takeway for years as they are the best in the area. Friendly staff, excellent food and a pub opposite to have a beer whilst they prepare the food - perfect combination!

The best Indian takeaway on the planet!!

Runa has a diverse menu, which has many more options than other standard Indian Restaurants in the area. The food was not as hot as other Indian restaurants. The food overall was good, but for all the spices used we didn't feel it was as flavorsome or tasty as it could have been.

Sensational! Full of flavour and prepared - clearly - using quality ingredients and spices. A great, authentic discovery. Lovely, welcoming staff too. Thrilled to have discovered Runa, Byfleet Village. We'll most definitely be back!

I won’t go to this India (loosely used) as the food is slap dash and tastes nothing like food in India. It’s greasy, no flavour (to the real thing) and you might as well go to Asda for a curry as it will taste better. If you want good tasting authentic food head to an India in West Byfleet!

I "hate" this place as it has made every other take-away a big disappointment! They can't compete. We live in Norfolk and close family live in Byfleet. When we meet up we always "have a Runa" to celebrate. We have used it for many years and it hasn't let us down once.

I ordered duck tikka and king prawn butterfly. Could not recognize the duck because it was hard and overcooked. King prawn batter was too crisp. I have always found food previously good so Emailed the owner politely expressing disappointment. Haven't had any reply hence this poor review. Won't bother to order from them again but will use rival Indian restaurants

Yet another amazing meal from Runa takeaway. The food is always exceptional from here, both myself and my husband always agree how soft the lamb is. It melts in your mouth! The delivery driver was so polite and friendly! 5* all round!

I visited my family in Weybridge - Stroudwater Park, and my sister-in-law recommended the RUNA takeaway restaurant on Tuesday night (06.08.19). The first thing I checked was their menu, which, to my surprise, was one heck of a selection - something for everyone! I've visited many Indian restaurants/takeaways over the years, and have to say this menu is the BEST I've ever come across - FACT. A quick look on the TripAdvisor reviews, and my mind was made up - a Chicken Tikka Balti with Pulao Rice was ordered, with a Keema Nan. My family then ordered other various dishes and it was delivered in a super quick time. The taste of the dish was absolutely AMAZING, and, I have to say - it's the BEST Balti Dish I've ever tasted! In fact, I'm looking forward to visiting them again soon and cannot wait to have another dish from there - BRAVO to the Chef of RUNA.

We moved away from Byfleet 23 years ago. Try to visit family every few months and a take away from Runa is always on the agenda. Can see your food being cooked and have a chat with the chiefs while waiting. Best Indian every time. If you like spicy food try the Chicken Jomka....unbelievable.

We have been coming here for years as it never fails to satisfy. I can't say how good they are for home delivery, as we order the food & then nip over the pub opposite (The Blue Anchor) until the food is ready. It works for us!

Oh my god, people have raved about this takeaway for a long time, and it’s up again stiff competition in the village, with the red rose, a well recognised quality restaurant, but let me tell you, the food from the Runa was the best I’ve eaten in at least 10 years, everything was spot-on, succulent chicken tikka , soft waxy Bombay potato, wonderful onion bhajis! The whole meal was a triumph! But it started with the phone being answered with a very polite and courteous gentlemen, ending up with the driver delivering as polite!! I won’t be going anywhere else that’s for sure!

By far the best Indian takeaway in the area. Very friendly staff and excellent food. We order at least once a month and always have our meal delivered. It is always piping hot and never have to wait to long. We would never use any other Indian for takeaway meal.

The service is always good, on this occasion my delivery was wrong they did replace but i didn't really get an apology when my replacement came and the took the wrong dish away, so by the time i got my main dish my partner had almost finished his. It wasn't as hot as it could have been either but will try them again.

Poor communication from the offset. Asked about ordering some food earlier in the day. Told them what I wanted and explained I could only pay by card. They agreed. On my return to order I was told I had to spend an extra 5 pounds to use my card. Bunch of time wasters and con men

Ordered one from here before i believe. But it was recommended to me again. Placed our order was not advised how long it would be. When it arrived the delivery driver was friendly. When i opened my order they had sent the wrong starter. I called and they sent out the correct item but it arrived after others had finished thiers. They took the dish they delivered wrongly away with them. It actually looked quite nice and would have liked to try it if they had left it as sorry for the mistake.

Like the headline says, best takeaway curry in the area and I've tried most of them. The lamb jalfrezi is particularly good and if you prefer it milder, the tandoori masala is definitely worth a try.

Had been recommended to Runa after being so disappointed by the Indian take always in our area for a while. All I can say is Wow!! Had a lovely chat with the guy whilst ordering and then when we went to collect no wonder as he knew all about Birmingham (I'm from bham!) and how great their curries are. Food was amazing. The menu had so many different items on there that I had no seen before and I was excited to try them! I normally stand by the hotter the better and nothing less! But I found myself even munching down on my daughters Chicken Tikka Massala as it was so fresh and yummy!!! Well done Runa - I will be singing your praises !!

Mi familia y yo hemos estado comiendo de aquí a unos 5 años y la comida nunca decepciona! El personal es muy amable y siempre nos dan una tarjeta de navidad! Sabroso, comida a un precio razonable! !

Mejor curry personal comida siempre caliente entrega realmente amable gratis a zona local pero normalmente agrega 10 minutos en tiempo comida esperaba. Si su hora local, y ahorrar el 10% de la factura.

Mi novio y yo decidimos salir un indio llevar esta noche normalmente vamos a Gaylord en weybridge, pero no llega, así que traté de Runa en Byfleet como entregarte a weybridge y hemos tenido uno desde allí antes en casa de un amigo hace un tiempo y era realmente bueno. OH MYYYYY fue increíble! ! ! ! La cebolla bhajis eran perfectas y la masala! El arroz de hongos era delicioso y conseguimos sag paneer, que es el queso con espinacas (similar a sag aloo) y lo hacen un poco diferente aquí pero estaba mucho mejor que cualquier he probado en ningún sitio! Nunca me he encontrado con un curry house mejor que el Gaylord hasta ahora! Es una lástima que no sea sólo para llevar y entrega pero este sin duda nuestra entrega india de ahora en adelante! Ah, y para colmo nos dieron una bolsa enorme de chocolate de rosas! Muy agradable de ellos. Altamente recomendado! !

We were visiting family in byfleet tonight, and ordered 3 mains and a few sides. Everyone was really hungry and we were not disappointed!! The service was quick and the prices very reasonable for the quality of food! Coming from the Portsmouth area, we are spoiled for choice with Indian food - this is heads and shoulders above those local to us!! The garlic lamb was ridiculously good (my partner had to be rolled to the car when finished!) There is also a loyalty scheme which, if more local, would be our secret treat on a weekly basis! Byfleet- you have a real gem here!!!

Returning to Byfleet to see an old mate (having lived here 40 years ago), we decided to have a take away from Runa. What an amazing gem this is, from the patron willing to chat and offer to cook anything even if not on the menu to the glass partition allowing you to watch the freshly cooked order by chefs who have been there since it opened 20 years ago. This take away was probably one of the best I have ever tasted. The bhindi bhaji was simply amazing as was the Peshwari Nan.

From the perfectly cooked food to the very nice and attentive staff, this is the best Indian takeaway around. I have been coming here for around ten years now and from the first time I ordered chicken jalfrezi, to the last time I ordered it (last week) it has been cooked to a very high standard by the very nice and polite chef. They also give you a card and a sticker with meals costing £12.00 or more, and when you have filled it with 12 stickers you get £12.00 off your next meal ( back of the net ). If for any reason you are not satisfied with your order ( unlikely ) then the staff are only too happy to deal with your complaint to you r total satisfaction. I would definitely recommend this takeaway over any others I have been to anywhere.

We have only just moved to the area and on the previous recommendations we tried it out. We were very impressed. We had chicken bhuna, lamb rogan josh as well as bombay pilau rice, poppadoms and delicious naan bread with sesame seeds on. Just a wonderful explosion of tastes, far superior to any Indian takeaway we have had before. We would definitely have again and have no doubt recommending to friends and family.

Never have to wait too many rings of the phone before being greeted by a helpful & friendly member of staff. Their delivery service is very good. Try the chicken tikka pathia, it's a cracker! I can only say if you enjoy Indian food, this place is a must. The best take away for miles... And beyond.

We used to live in Weybridge and frequently got takaway here. The staff are friendly and helpful and will do half portions or change elements of dishes if needed, They are so nice to our 2 kids and give them lollies while we wait and make them smile. The food is always guaranteed to be delicious and they have glass door to the kitchen so you can see how well kept it is and see them making the food which is cool to watch (especially making stuffed naans!) We live in Cobham now so dont get in as often as we used to (which we miss!) and are a tad too far away for delivery! Oh and the reward stickers for money off a meal, great idea and we did manage to fill one card! Also love to see them work it all out on paper by hand, top marks guys, keep up the good work!

I have tried the food from this place a few times. The only dish I had issue with was the Lamb Tikka, very dry & gristly. To be fair the owner did offer me a free meal when I mentioned it to him when passing by another time.Other meals I have had from there have been very tasty, and portions generous. They even observe the bonus pappadoms convention! There is some sort of loyalty scheme where if you order so many times the next order is free, I don't go here enough to take benefit of that though.

Best take away in the village by far. Try the Lamb Dargeling! Lamb melts in your mouth.Friendly staff.
