Ruby's Bar & Brasserie in Carmarthenshire

Im always a little unsure when it comes to Sunday Lunch deliveries as it can be a bit of a gamble as to what youll get and what state it will be in when it arrives. Anyway to save the Mrs some effort in the kitchen I ordered in two beef dinners. Well, it arrived dead on time and we did an unboxing video and photo. The result is we were very happy with our lunches, very tasty and well presented in a foil container, not squashed into a polystyrene box as some have done. I would order again. The first thing I saw when I walked in was a lack of social distancing, the tables were not spaced out and everyone in the bar was just everywhere. All staff were very welcoming and kind, the food was okay but the chips tasted like they were cooked in old fat.

We've been here for Sunday carvery twice in the last month, food is good , service today was bad but last time was good. Nothing flashy about this place and it has reasonable prices

If you want carvery wed/thurs lunch time can usually just walk in. Booking is a must for Sunday though have often phoned in morning and managed to get a table. Nicest carvery in llanelli all fresh veg and fab selection and great price.

Ordered the 2 steak deal for an evening meal. The service was excellent and the food could not be faulted.Nice little extra of sauteed onions which were delicious.

Had a rump steak with jacket potato and peas. The meal was very good - hot, good portion and decent priced. Service was excellent. Only negative I could think of, is that it was very quiet- only a handful of people there. We went midweek though early evening maybe that was why.I would definitely go back again and recommend it to people.

Lovely carvery for amazing value with great staff. Cant praise the place enough. The chef has always been excellent even in previous venues he has worked and his quality has always improved even though its faultless in the past

We were famished and popped in for lunch. The service was great and friendly, the food tasty, the lasagne was super and the prices were really reasonable.

First time to eat at Ruby’s and will definitely be going back! Great welcome and service, everyone was friendly and met you with a smile even though they were very busy. The carvery was excellent, lots of vegetable choices and three different meats on offer with the usual condiments and sauces to go with each meat. The roast parsnips were to die for and the gravy was just like home and really complimented the lunch. Starters and desserts are available but we were too full today but they looked lovely too. Their everyday menu and offers looked great and we will definitely be coming to have a meal on a week day. All different ages groups welcomed and able to have meals on both down and upstairs levels.

Only moved into the area 4 weeks ago. Went to Ruby's on the 26th for Sunday carvery. Great atmosphere and lovely welcome. Food is AMAZING with a great choice of meat and veg. The beef is so succulent and the roast potatoes and stuffing balls are excellent. Dessert is very more-ish. Was very full leaving there. Already booked in for next week

Can not fault the food, large party having a function upstairs and the food was absolutely fantastic. The Blackened Cajun Chicken with large crunchy crispy chips, the chicken were stunning! Even with over 30 people, non of the food orders were wrong. Waitresses were very attentive.Live band were really good too.

You can get anything here from a snack to a full blown meal. Certain evenings there is live entertainment and it attracts all ages.

This place is friendly and the best place in llanelli food is truly amazing and your made to feel welcome everytime I go there great atmosphere lovely staff really love going there

Came here for a family lunch the food was delicious in particular I had the nachos they were amazing and the waiter was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed will definately be coming back.

Visited just before New Years as a family get together (family visiting from France & Ireland). The food was presented to a 5star standard, professional service from the waitresses. Went here recently for the first game of the Six Nations, Wales V France. They had a deal on for £14.95 for a meal and 3 pints. Can't go wrong! Food was gorgeous and the beer was good. I've booked to go back for Valentine's Day so fingers crossed it'll be just as good.

Excellent food would recommend to anyone easy parking in council car park across the road would recommend booking before you go

Went here yesterday for lunch with some family members, a first visit for me. We hadn't booked, but we were given a lovely table upstairs in the restaurant. The young lady who served us was so pleasant and helpful, she couldn't do enough for us. We all ordered different foods, but my daughter and I both shared the special offer of 2 meals for £11.90. I didn't expect much for that price, but I was speechless when my sausages, mash and onion gravy arrived! I can honestly say it's the best I've ever had, anywhere. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meals, they were exceptional. I can't wait to visit again, it's definitely going to be one of our favourite restaurants from now on. thank you Ruby's for an amazing meal.

Went for a Christmas work meal Best cavery had in ages and great service will definitely be going again

Booked here for Sunday carvery the choice was fantastic! It was very busy there but we were served within mins.this as got to be the best carvery we have had in a long time.the mash was beautiful and gravy was just as good as my mums.we definitely go back when we get the chance.all staff were nice and friendly too X

We went here to celebrate our 12th anniversary. We both had a steak meal. On the menu it offered two 8oz rump steaks for £15.95 which seemed like an excellent offer until we came to ordering! The waitress then explained that the two steaks were not separate meals but that it actually meant two 8oz steaks on one plate!!! This was not made clear on the menu and I would suggest either making this clearer or removing it from the menu completely as it is very misleading. We then ordered them as separate meals which came to £25 (a substantial increase on the "special offer")!!! We had the eating area to ourselves and as my husband wanted to watch a football match, they came in and pulled down the large screen in the room so he could follow the match. The steak meals were served within 15 minutes from ordering and were served with chips in a net, mushrooms, grilled tomato, onion rings and peas. The steaks wre cooked to perfection and aside from the misunderstanding over the menu prices, I would highly recommend. Beers were averagely priced and were very good. Overall service was excellent and the staff were very attentive to our needs.

went here for a family lunch , was family friendly , the service was great . our server was polite ,very friendly and he checked we had everything we needed . the food was delicious ! everyone loved their meals . will go again happily .

Had an awesome Sunday Carvery at RUBYS today with my friend I would definitely Recommend you to my family and friends you made us feel so welcome and all staff were so friendly.

Came here after being recommended online. One of the best carvery I've had. Stunning meats and great amount of veg, sauces, gravy. Very tasty, great quality food. They even facilitated my 4 year old daughter's request of chips. Couldn't have done more for us. 4 full belly's here. We will be back.

Had Sunday lunch at Rubys today- yes the place is a bit tired and could do with a makeover but its early days yet and the priority is getting the customers in I would assume.

This place is overdue for a make over. First impressions are very important. On leaving the car park, the untidy and unkept surroundings were very off putting. Cigarette ends and bottles all over the floor and overflowing bins. Surely this unsightly surroundings must be a health hazard. Having a great chef in Simon, this place could be a gold mine. So it's up to you guys - have a clean up. A fresh coat of paint and general tidy up would not cost a fortune? Will try them again in a while, when they've had time to freshen up the place. AND don't forget the outside.

Best Sunday dinner around thanks to Paula and Co! cannot fault it! best home cooked Sunday dinner in Llanelli as it was when they were in the White Lion - Felinfoel also. Wouldn't be the best without them!

We have enjoyed Sunday lunch at Ruby's on a number of occasions and it has always been truly excellent. Our first visit, having been recommended by friends, was a little strange because we couldn't find the premises. Having given up we suddenly spotted it and it was well worth looking for. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The Sunday lunch is all home cooked and traditional, I don't think you will find better well prepared and cooked meats anywhere, and the veg is all fresh. Every time I have been there it has been very busy with, what appeared, regular local customer. That speaks volumes. Caterers on top of their game.

On y est allé après un match de rugby de coupe d'europe. Super ambiance. Les gallois nous ont excellement reçu, le patron a tenu à nous offrir le whisky, nous y avons très bien mangé et les échanges avec les autres gallois présents ont été agréables et enrichissants. Nous y retournerons. A noter, souvent le soir, des concerts de rock and folk.

This was probably the best bar we visited in Llanelli over the bank holiday weekend. Although that doesn't say a lot because the town centre was deplorable. Never have I been to such a run down Sad town. Staff here were ok yet they seemed too many for the amount of customers. Drinks were of a reasonable price and the lager the best in town

one of the members of staff was very rude to me saying my familly is giving the pub a bad name. I have been married for 15 years and as a couple we know what is good and bad.

1st time here and have to admit when I first walked in I thought I was in the wrong place. Dated sports bar / train station waiting room. HOWEVER the food was amazing.. proper homemade dinner, 3 meats.. loads of veg.. proper gravy.. lesson learnt don't judge a book by its cover!!

Tenía el almuerzo de domingo aquí para un cumpleaños familiar había un montón de nosotros, la comida era increíble asados era delicioso. La única pega fue la sopa muy desiguales, pero el personal era genial también ganas de volver y probar el menú principal!

Excelente servicio y las instalaciones. Lo recomiendo a cualquier turista, ya que este pub es un verdadero símbolo de Gales!

Increíble rotisería entre semana. Todo fue perfecto. Carne de pavo se fue tan tierno. Mejor la salsa. Geraint era extremadamente servicial y atento. Altamente recomendado.

Went for a Christmas night out, 3 course which was fantastic. Everything was fresh and hot and the drinks were reasonably priced. Great atmosphere and the DJ played some great tunes, old classics and the new chart stuff. Will be booking again for staff nights out. Staff were great too and couldn't do enough. Well done Ruby's.

Large choice of veg 2 stuffings very nice, one fault the room was too hot . But we went on one of the hottest days of the year .

Was recommended to try Ruby's for Sunday Lunch by friends, and have to say the food is absolutely beautiful, tasteful and about as good a Sunday Lunch as you could hope to have anywhere, seating is spacious too, so unlike other restaurants where your on top of the next table here you have ample room to enjoy your food, with super friendly staff making sure you're well catered for, highly recommend a visit to Ruby's Bar and Brasserie

For an establishment that serves food you'd expect them to have toilet seats. Well they don't. Shocking facilities!!

Paul and Paula are back, and with the same old great Sunday lunch. As it was with them in the White in Felinfoel the lunch is second to none. From the meats, usually beef, turkey and pork to the massive selection of veg which includes mash and roast potatoes, carrots, swede roast parsnips, cauliflower cheese peas and mushy peas two types of stuffing Yorkshires and sausages. We ate for lunch here as a group of friends. A Sunday carvery, the place has been taken over by a new chef. The choice of vegetables in the carvery was huge, stuffing with apricots delicious and plenty of meat. The restaurant is split up into two parts, reached by lots of steep stairs . It is obviously very popular as it was exceptionally busy with lots of families with very young children. Good service.

Great staff, good craic and very welcoming. Hopefully they'll have their accommodation up and running for next season.

Regular on a Friday after work. Friendly staff and plenty of room to sit, or sit outside when we do see the sun!! Great place to socialise and right in the town centre!

Went with a large group of ladies for a Christmas night out and we were all amazed with the Christmas dinner we were served. There were plenty of turines which held lots of extremely hot FRESH VEG, we all thoroughly enjoyed the three courses we were served at an excellent rate. Would definitely recommend. I have also had a cooked breakfast there and this was very nice too.

I visited this Bar/Brasserie with my Aunt who knows the owners. It has a sizeable downstairs area and looks as though it would probably be very busy of an evening and weekend. The three of us had Cod, Chips and Peas at £7.50 each and it was really good. Lovely chunky chips and tasty Cod. They have a varied menu from snacks to curries to nachos to burgers to some good main meals at reasonable prices (like the cod and chips). My aunt told me that they also have a very good homemade Sunday roast for £7.95 and a 10% discount for seniors. Parking on site is limited but there is a pay and display car park just across the road. There is also outdoor seating for sunny days. Would go again if back in Llanelli.

Popped in after a Walk around town on our day off with my partner, I was ever so impressed, sat out the back with a beer on a sunny day, had a sharing platter between us for lunch, food was clean and tasty, bar man was pleasant :) needs a bit of a refurb inside, but that's just my opinion, good job guys :) this has a lot of potential :)

Popped in here today for a beer and lunch with the girlfriend. . The decor of the place could do with a little tlc but the beer and food was good.. prices not to pricey.. and the bar man was friendly enough. ..Service was slow as we where the only customers eating.. but im guessing that low prep and staff was the cause of that..Hopefully this place gets a little bit more local support and can prove to be a nice local eating spot...

Had Sunday Lunch here and it was beautiful. You can tell the food is all fresh and home madeand there was plenty of it. The staff were very polite and helpful which made our Ruby's experience more enjoyable. The price of the food was very reasonable and we had a nice relaxed atmosphere,we would definitely recommend.

Answer When its Rubys in LlanelliBrasserie sounds good i thought as my and the wife stepped into Rubys. there was no menu outside the So called Brasserie apart for some badly printed posters stuck to a bit of board on the roadside.If you are running a restaurant business use a decent printing company to do it! This should have set off the alarm bells buzzers and whistles but it never does does it?The barman was busy like most youngsters today on his phone /Tablet whatever and when he served us i asked if he was doing food to which he said menus on the table! So taking a seat at atable i was amused to see the same poster font/style as outside LOL.(see pics) Apart from the poor menu choices of jacket potatoes,wraps,cowl the usual things you would expect to find in a train station cafe not a Brasserie! The weird pricing and spelling mistakes and the fact it was 1pm and no one eating we decided not to bother the barman as he was by now busy back in internet land and we headed off to EJs across the road for our lunch instead.
